When writing the next chapter in your life, start with a pencil and eraser - my first page as Miki is full of eraser marks.

If you're outside cook county or need some other help I can try to help you with the steps that I went through. It's a fairly easy process overall, as long as you don't have too many other non-governmental things to change.

    Thumbs up

Regarding your birth certificate, Illinois insists that you have some form of an "operation" (it does not have to be GRS, either. An orchi, for example, or even FFS will do). That, and an official notarized affidavit by a medical doctor. I tried to submit that affidavit by my endo using HRT as the "operation," and the b@$t@d$ rejected it. I cried buckets.

Fortunately, I'm scheduled for FFS in Illinois in 52 days (but who's counting), and my plastic surgeon does a lot of these affidavits and says it's routine for him.

Recent court orders (2012 & 2013) forced sanctimonius political appointees to stop demanding GRS.

You can check with the Howard Brown Health Center---they have a great TG program, and an in house legal team.
