There is no accounting for some of the locales we find ourselves in when we think ther might be a few feathers ruffled.
I have worried about some places and when I have found myself caught there I have obviously worried needlessly.
Like you I get long drives like that and being dressed helps keep me aware of my surroundings.
I will travel about a 1000 miles in one stretch.
