A lot of accepting people I know seem much more comfortable in thinking of me as transexual, although they say transgender. The idea that sexuality is not binary and that you might be somewhere on a continuum tends to make them very uncomfortable. My ex-wife OTOH was much more comfortable referencing transgender. Doesn't help that different people use different names: my parents, for example, used "queer." A much worse choice.....
