Anyone ever crossdress for theatre, school play, womanless beauty pageant, womanless wedding, etc?


I wish I had this great non-Halloween opportunity to dress up as a girl or a woman. Well, I can still do some of them. Did any of you have this experience(s)?

Yes, I had a role in a musical in high school and wore white pantyhose in place of white men's stockings that I couldnt find. I loved it, and lead to being outed as I came running back from a quick change and somehow I didnt get my pants buttoned. As I entered the backstage area with everyone there, my pants fell to my ankles bearing my pantyhose to the entire cast and crew.

Some 20+ years ago I was a very active member of an amateur community theatre group in an expatriate community in the middle east. All the members of the group and our audience were coworkers and neighbors. I played female roles in about half a dozen plays that we produced over a period of about 10 years. One play was a classic melodrama and the others were all comedies. I surprised many of my friends with my performances as it seemed very much different from my normal image. It was always a lot of fun. In one of the later plays some people visiting from another community thought I was a real woman until some people that know me clued them in. I played more "normal" roles in many other plays and only did the crossdressing roles roughly every other year. You might say I was hiding in plain sight.

I attended a boys only high school. I was an alto in the choir. We put on a production of "Yeoman of the Guard" by Gilbert and Sullivan. I was a female in the chorus. ("List' and Learn" etc). I wore a bra, and a skirt and top. Barefoot, though!

Cub scouts when I was young.

It didn't amount to much. It wasn't like it was trying to fool anyone.
They threw a dress on me (over my regular boy clothes), a string mop on my head for hair, and pinned a paper heart on my front.
I was to be the damsel-in-distress that the brave knight rescued, and I would give him my heart - literally. I handed him the paper heart.
No speaking part for me. Also, no rehearsals, or anything. The whole thing was a surprise to me.

The only stage performance in costume was first grade where I was in dyed-green long johns . I was a weed.

The closest I came to theatre, was in a boy scout skit where I had to play a girl.

I work at a small (2,000 person capacity) concert venue that hosts many Broadway plays, ballets, musical events, and comedy shows. There are many CDers that attend these events. Some of them I recognize as they attend multiple events. It's a great opportunity for a CDer to get glammed up without feeling out of place.

Several years ago, our service club put on a fund raiser vaudeville show. The director thought it?d be funny to have a ?female?, all male chorus line. Secretly, I was very happy to be asked to be a part of the chorus line. I tried to not appear too happy. This was a very professional production. With the help of my dear wife, I went the whole nine yards, shaved legs, garter belt with black nylons, even false eyelashes. Got to admit, I looked good. The music was ?A Pretty Girl is Like a Melody?. After the show, one of the cast commented that I seemed to really enjoy myself. He got that right.

Almost had the chance to do this at school, as part of the drama class we were doing a play, girls significantly outnumbered boys, but, the play we were doing only had a few female parts, to solve this problem the drama teacher decided that the boys would play the female parts and the girls would play the male parts. The girls thought this was hilarious and were all for it, the boys of course couldn't believe what we were hearing, we ( the boys) thought this was a joke and that it wasn't a serious suggestion. At one point it looked like it might happen, but, eventually came to nothing as parents protested and that was the end of that. When it was suggested initially I was secretly delighted, but also slightly petrified that my secret might come out, when it was called off, I was disappointed but, also slightly relieved. I've always wondered what would have happened if it had gone ahead!

In high school, I joined our chapter of Thespians. The first year is all initiation and one week is dedicated to dressing differently each day. One day was Mime-day, one day was Toga-day, et al. Well, one of those days happen to be crossdressing day. Boys dress as girls, girls dress as boys. Had to wear a dress, at school, all day. I used wash cloths as boobs, but mom wouldn't give me a bra saying she didn't have any that would fit me so, the boobs kept dropping. (I didn't push mom too hard because I didn't want to tell her I had already been wearing her bras.) I did, however, wear a flesh-colored t-shirt and my own pants underneath which came in handy when being teased and having my dress flipped up from behind. This was all done under the guise of preparing us for having to wear ridiculous or embarrassing costumes on stage.
