Did your mom or sister dress you up for Halloween?

Did your mother or sister dress you up as a girl for Halloween? If yes, what did you wear? How did people react?

Unfortunately for me, my mom said no and I don?t have any sisters.

As mentioned in a recent post, l will never forget a friend in jr. high. It was his mother and sister?s idea that he dress as a girl. While he didn?t have a wig, his short brown hair was styled like a girl, makeup, earrings, bracelets, a stuffed strapless bra under a woman?s T-shirt, a denim skirt that went to above the knees of his bare legs, girls white socks and his sneakers.

He looked amazing and got a lot of compliments. I think the attention became too much for my shy friend because he was completely out of drag at lunch time.

When I was 8, my mother bought a Snow White costume for my sister but she didn?t want it so she offered it to me. I accepted pretending it was just for fun. The following year in the costume shop, I chose an Esmeralda costume, always "for laughs" of course. I then stopped to dress up for Halloween until my adult crossdressing life. This year, I will be Cruella.

My sister did, but not for Halloween, we were watching Reruns of a real old TV show called Queen for the day. I don't remember how it came up for me to dress or why, I was very young, under 10. She did it in the basement where her older clothes were stored in boxes, Skirt or dress, I do remember tights and some sort of shoes. Another thing, she strapped me to my brothers weight bench because I wanted to get undressed, and left me there. My parents came home early and I was stuck down there for some time before she brought my clothes down....

    Once.
We were poor and couldn't afford costumes - and why ruin a good sheet to make a ghost? So, my mom dressed me in my sister's clothes. (I did NOT object)
Small neighborhood and everyone knew who I was and it wasn't a big deal, but one (single) lady saw me and said I was "the cat's pajamas." I was thrilled - secretly, of course.
The opportunity never reoccurred and I never had the courage to ask to do it again.

Nope, when I was growing up in 1950s England, we never heard of Halloween. The only thing we ever heard of was All Hallows' Eve, which was something to do with what went on at the local church my parents sent me to. I had little to no knowledge of what it was all about back then, and little or no knowledge even now. LOL Consequently, Halloween has never played a part in my life.

As I have mentioned before, my mother dressed me as a girl for Halloween when I was in my early teens. Of course, it was my idea. She put me in my sisters blouse and dress and tied a cute scarf around my head. What she didn’t know was I was wearing my sisters bra and panties as well. She dropped me off at in a neighboring town’s Halloween festivities and I spent several glorious hours mingling with the crowd as a girl. She picked me up and never said another word about it. It was the first and only time I ever went out en femme.

Nope, never happened to me. I had no sisters, and my mother...despite wishing I had been born a girl (I was her last kid)...never suggested it. When I was a teenager, she found a few pairs of pantyhose in my room and read me the riot act. She was an absolutely amazing mother in every other respect. But, that one hurt. Her reaction to my pantyhose speaks to why she never suggested I dress up as a girl for halloween.

Yes, at age nine, I requested my Mum to dress me as a girl for my first Halloween.

We had recently moved into town from a remote farm, so Halloween was a go for me that year. In my family, there were two younger sisters at the time, eleven aunts, and about twenty of my eventual 48 first cousins. Sisters were too young to be a source of clothes but several aunts and cousins were in the right size range. My Mum asked my youngest aunt for wardrobe help.

They dressed me in my aunts off the shoulder blouse and a matching broomstick skirt. She tied my hair with a scarf. I kept my own shoes. It was frigid that evening so I wore pants under my skirt as all the GGs my age did. My aunt also contributed a coat. I wore the costume to school. People at school who knew me and my sister and brother recognized me without incident but out on the trick or treat trail, no one else seemed to read me as a boy.

I had a great time but I never did it again. My parents decided age ten was too old for Halloween antics. By then, I had a job delivering and selling newspapers. There was not enough time to get home from work and get all dolled up.

Two years later, my brother, age nine, started to get into trouble with the local cops. My father moved the family out to a remote farm to keep my brother away from trouble. That extinguished any Halloween opportunities for all of us until I was age 16 and a chauffeur for all the younger kids in the family for their Halloween. Drinking and costumes were in the same category of forbidden activities while driving at that age.

No. My father would have never allowed that to occur.

When I was a pre-teen, My mother threatened to make me a dress for Halloween and make me go out trick or treating as a girl but she never did. Or I objected. Or both. Wishing I had taken her up on it . Sigh?.

Yes. I was ten or so. My mom asked me what I wanted to be for Halloween and I said I wanted to dress up as a girl. She was very supportive. I wore my sisters dress with white knee high stocking. No matching shoes, undergarments or makeup. But I do remember how good it felt and how excited I was. Some of my friends thought it was weird and that took some of the fun away. But I remember it fondly.
