DC Girls Christmas Gala Girls Night Out

Saturday night was the annual DC Crossdresser Girls Christmas Gala Girls Night Out.

About 80 girls signed up and about that many showed up, but I could only count about 60 heads in the traditional group picture. There were also at least a half a dozen SOs of CDs. The CDs included mostly CDs, bit a goodly proportion of full time girls and TS girls.

I met many girls who I see all the time, some more who I haven't seen in a few years ans some girls new to the group

It was great being immersed with so many girls. We pretty much took over the whole restaurant at the hotel we usually go to. A great time was had by all.

I always have issues going out. My bottle of face makeup went missing. The very season appropriate red and green sequined dress had to be retrieved from my storage locker and the car's inflation warning light came on and had to be resolved. This all put me behind schedule, but I still arrived at the venue before most of the other girls.

It's great that people panic so much. When their tires report low air. If thirty two is normal, I'd start to worry at twenty five. I imagine the warning light comes on much sooner than that. Maybe someday I'll be stuck with that.Annoying warning, when I have a new enough car. Who am I kidding? I don't want a new enough car. Lol regardless, if it's only a few pounds, low with no need to worry, get it as soon as you can. I'm not saying, don't take care of it. I'm saying, make it a priority, but not an immediate priority. Be smart about it like if it drops five pounds in one trip. That's a concern. If it's really low, like twenty pounds or less, that's another major concern. If it's twenty eight and the alarm's going off, you can take care of it sometime that week.

I'm sorry. This had an impact on your time for such a rare and enjoyable event.

Am still somewhat amazed by things like tire pressure sensors. I have an 8 year old car and all 4 went on the blink w/in a few days of each other as the batteries within wore out.

The Christmas Gala sounds amazing. No comparable events up here in the north woods.

So, here's something for the engineers and auto mechanics.

I knew that the low pressure light was probably due to the recent drop in temperature. I always refer to it as the Tom Brady "deflate-gate" effect. But the low pressure light has warned me about a spike in the tire several times, that really needed to get fixed. I had been riding around town for several days with the low pressure warning. Riding at highway speeds with low tire pressure can overheat the tire and cause a blowout. that may be 60's bias-ply tires.

I didn't want to risk getting a flat tire while in girl mode. A couple of times I had to call AAA for a dead battery while in girl mode and it wasn't a problem. But, it was really cold out.

While at the storage locker I also picked up a winter coat, in addition to the sequined dress.

BTW, the tire pressure was 24 lbs. all around. Spec for my car as 32 lbs.

Yes, it was a great time with so many girls and many in dresses to die for.

It sounds like you had a blast despite the last-minute chaos! I?ve had those days where everything seems to go wrong?like losing makeup or having car issues right before an event?but once you get there and start mingling, it all feels worth it. It?s awesome that you got to catch up with familiar faces and meet new people too.

This is the biggest girls Meetup event of the year. We do it annually.

You're invited next year if you want to fly across the pond.

The Valentine's Day Gala is also a big event. There are usually more SOs on Valentine's Day than other events.

Another big event is for the Kentucky Derby. It's typically on the (Saturday) of the Kentucky Derby (May 3, 2025 in case you want to plan ahead). Fancy formal hats are suggested. Search "church hats" on your favorite search platform.

I'd still like to cross the pond for "November in Manchester", but I'd want to make a week of it.

Yes, it was really great. And I've gotten used to complications. Something always seems to happen on Girls Night Out.

I wish I could post the pics, but they violate posting rules. It's almost impossible to get permission from those in the pics. Plus the pics are behind a login firewall. If you're interested, join Meetup.com and search for Transgender groups in DC.

Ah I'd love to attend, Steffi. Though getting the OK for a flight to the US is fairly unlikely!

If you do come over this side of the pond a meetup would definitely be in order.

Twenty four is low enough for concern as I suggested above. How did it get that low? I think you've mentioned ignoring it for a little while. Yeah, it's safe to ignore for a little while, but only if it just happened. You set yourself up for this one. Sorry.

By the way, there's no chance those sixties bias ply tires had a tire pressure monitor in them. Lol
