    Role reversal with clothes

Ever since my wife was in a serious car accident a few years back, I automatically took over the household. She is a lot better these days but at times she will do something and feel pain for days so I prefer to take care of it the best I can. I came home yesterday and my wife had the laundry baskets in the living room and was separating and folding clothes and I got a little upset with her for doing it. She was just finishing and she said if someone would come to our house now they would think her basket was mine and the other way around. She pointed out that her basket had fleece pants and top pjs and in my basket has one piece spaghetti strap nighties , she has almost boy shorts underwear and I have silky and lacy thongs and pattern panties. She even pointed out that she has only sports bras and I had cute lacy and different colour and pattern bras. She knew it's been a while since she did laundry but didn't realize that I wear so much fem clothes under and the last time she did laundry she learned I don't own any male underwear. If it wasn't for the male tops nobody would have ever thought that was my basket. She kind of gave a Wow! Looks like there was a little role reversal in the clothing department in this house. I told her I'm sure it's not the only house in the world with the same laundry basket arrangement. I'm sure a lot of people here could agree with that.

That?s so great that your wife accepts that situation. I would love that to be the case in my house but not to be. I do pretty much all the housework, cleaning etc.. with the exception of laundry. Thankfully she has managed to accept washing my bras, panties and nightgowns (and she?s the one with the two pc flannel pajama sets).

The elastic in all my male underwear is so unused it makes a crunchy/ crinkling noise. I should just throw them out as they haven?t been worn in years.

In my house I do all me fem stuff separately. Wife knows I dress when she is at work all day.

I do not underdress often. When I decide to doll up it is usually all the way. About 3x a week is my average I would say.

Nice to read that you share the domestic chores with your wife. My wife and I have always shared dong everything with the exception laundering of her dainties. If anyone ever snooped in our dressers they would really wonder why my wife had two dressers and I had none. Two out of three drawers are stocked with nightgowns, slips and panties.

I have more womens clothes than mens. I only have panties. 3-1 female tops of all varieties to a diminishing supply of male tops. Same with jeans, shorts, socks, and sweaters. My nighties are all feminine. Shoes are about equal at this time - only because it is hard to find womens shoes in my size. For Christmas, my partner gave me a matching set of feminine hat, gloves, and scarf along with some matching sets of jewelry.

My partner is the type of woman who dresses nice everyday, even if she is not going anywhere and expects the same of me, which is a lot of fun!

So yes, our laundry baskets look much the same!

Sorry about your wifes issues from her accident. That really stinks.
Great that she feeling at least a bit better.
And great that she is accepting of your dressing

Living alone. The womens clothes certainly are more prevalent.
I do not own any mens underwear. I do have 2 clothes baskets, one for Raychel
and one for Ray. Ray's basket will have a few pair of pants, some socks and some t-shirts.
Raychel's basket has all the underwear, pantyhose, bra's, Bodybriefer's, and dresses.

Funny story, I was selling a house once, and the realtor was looking it over. Looked in the closets
and remarked that there was more women's clothes than men's clothes. Haha.
my sister's reply when I told her how I prefer to dress

For sure some role reversal. But then, those gender identified roles are pretty antiquated. Seriously, the washer and dryer do not care who uses them any more than the garments care who wears them. Of course it goes a lot farther than the laundry room. I grew up on a farm some decades ago. Farm labor involved dusty, dirty and at times even dangerous work, Still, maintaining a household and keeping the family/crew fed was no easy task either. The division of labor made sense under the circumstances of that time. Now farm equipment is huge and literally drives itself. The average farm home is as automated as any other. Not surprisingly, today?s farm women operate equipment, care for livestock and participate in farm management, while caring for a family and often also maintaining off farm employment.

That may be the extreme in terms of changing roles, but I am sure its apparent in most walks of life.

If someone came at laundry time here they would think 2 women live here. The basket would be filled with panties, bras, blouse and cute tops, leggings and yoga pants and the odd dress or skirt.
If they walked in the closet they'd think that my wife had deemed to allow me a corner of the space as the rest if filled with skirts, dresses, blouses and OMG all those shoes and wigs. Little to they know.
    I don't wear women's clothes, I wear MY clothes !

Hi, In the UK you can recycle it via this site, is there not a similar solution in the USA?

In our home, I have been doing the laundry for decades. I actually find it relaxing and when there 5 were people in the home, I could make a day of it. And it became handy as I would easily sneak my “unmentionables” as they were called, into the process without much notice.

I can't remember the last time I washed a dress or skirt? I have so many women's things I rarely wear the same piece twice in a year!

But, I dress a lot so constantly must wash my women's underwear and shaping gear. But, I NEVER put them in the wash! Machines destroy those delicate, stretchy things in no time!

I wash them in the shower with me!
U can't keep doing the same things over and over and expect to enjoy life to the max. When u try new things, even if they r out of your comfort zone, u may experience new excitement and growth that u never expected.

Challenge yourself and pursue your passions! When your life clock runs out, you'll have few or NO REGRETS!

My wife and I have been washing our own things for years. I enjoy washing all my women?s stuff and seeing it on hangers afterwards. Yes, my stuff looks more feminine than my wifes with silky panties and rayon tops. I kind of hide those to a degree as we are DADT of sorts.

My delicates are always put in a lingerie bag to reduce any washing wear on them. They spend just a short time in the dryer getting warmed up before going on hangers to dry. All my jeans are women?s.

I have some male underwear stashed in a bottom drawer. It virtually never sees the light of day, maybe a pair making it to the laundry basket once a year. My wife doesn?t like my panties at all, or anything else fem for that matter, so I try to keep it low key.

Our laundry baskets both look feminine. If I didn?t have such big feet, even the male socks would be gone.

    My wife is very DADT.

I never do my wash when she is home since she doesn't want to see it. When she went out more, I would have some time to do a single load at a time. Now she's home most of the time due to mobility issues.

I may have to visit a laundromat, or bring some clothes in for a laundry service. I could always clain that Our washer is broken and I am doing my wife a big favor.
