Outing myself for NYE.

For NYE I had been invited down to Mandurah (104 k south) of my house for an overnight stay. Julie (Stitch) is another lady who I have met briefly but likes my sense of humour enough to invite me to her house along with 2 other ladies. I would be sleeping in the games room on a sofa bed and I was not sure how private that would be.
Well, I could see no other option but to say that the face she (Julie) sees normally each time we have met will not be the face that she could see the next morning. It went like this on the phone.

Me.
"Julie I need to tell you something".
Julie
"What do you mean?"
Me
I think that you need to know something about me.
Julie.
"I think I know".
Me
What do you think you know?
Julie "No you go first".

So I told her and she said yes that was what she thought but it does not matter. My frame and voice are pointers but not outright obvious tells.
Deena (Stitch member from Christmas Day) confirmed this when she and I were talking later in the afternoon. According to her she had no idea as her voice is also a bit deep.

NYE at Julie's.
I arrived just after 4pm as requested only to find Julie and Barbara already on the Champagne. I quickly got a glass and joined in.
Gail arrived a little later. I think we had 3 or 4 bottles before we went out in an Uber (walking had been suggested) but it was too far and too warm. We went to a Gin Palace and had a cocktail there before walking around the boardwalk to the restaurant. Gail ordered a charcuterie plate and a bunch of hot chicken wings. Boy were they hot. All of which went down very well along with another 2 bottles of bubbly. We caught another ride back to Julie's around 9.30 and the ladies got stuck into cocktails whilst I had mugs of tea. I was a little tiddly.
Finally the fireworks went off at midnight and we went out to the front lawn of the house and watched them. Back to the drinks for another hour before bed.
The next day we all sat by the pool (no pictures sorry) and they got to see me without the makeup.
I did go and get more presentable before we went out for a late breakfast.
All in all a great and memorable NYE.

Sounds like that was a really nice time, Philippa! Good for you that you are making friends who know the whole story.
I would personally go out of my way for nobody to see "my brother", but it gets complicated in a situation like you describe.

There's a similar scene in the movie Tootsie. Dorothy (aka Tootsie) is invited to spend the night at Julie's Dad's place. What Dorothy doesn't find out until bed time that there is only one extra bedroom and that she and Julie have to sleep in the same bed without revealing that Dorothy is really Michael.

I am so glad you have been found and become part of an accepting group of women. And it?s so encouraging for those of us who sometimes think that stature might be somehow disqualifying. On a few occasions I have been pleasantly surprised to learn that the women (both young and mature) assumed I was a GG, despite had visited with me for an hour or more, often on multiple occasions.

That is such a lovely story Philipa! Sounds like a nice group of women.

It's such an exhilarating experience to be treated as just another one of the girls by women. Women are, by far, much more tolerant, accepting and respectful towards trans women versus how men feel. Even if some women don't really care for it at all, they are still respectful in their interactions with us. And that's true for all age groups whether young, middle aged or older but the level of female acceptance rises as they age and mature. Enjoy your new friends!
