A week and I tried 3 weeks once. Did not work out at 3 weeks at all
Jeez, depends on the circumstances, Deb. I went almost 18 months after my ex decided she could no longer deal with my thing. It?s different now, of course. I am out in my community, so really I present as I choose most of the time, and most of the time that is as a woman.

I have gone several months at a time. I am ok with it at the time.
But when I get back to dressing I then realize how much I miss it.

I think it is going to be a very long time before I CD again, maybe never. Only time will tell. I think I will be ok though.

Way back when Danielle was a total secret dress up days could be up to a year apart but I coped. After telling my wife about my crossdressing , then retiring , and then the kids moving out Danielle days became more and more frequent. Now with my wife being very accepting and supportive I have a Danielle day about every 2 weeks. Sometimes there are opportunities where I can have multiple Danielle days within a 1 or 2 week period.
This frequency works with me because I am perfectly content in my male life 99% of the time and Danielle is a temporary fantasy escape. For someone who feels their crossdressing is an expression of their true self my situation probably wouldn’t suffice.
Having said that, because of family commitments and a little thing called a cyclone my Danielle day on Monday was about 2 months since the last one . The two month absence did make my Danielle extra enjoyable.
Before and after the coming out, I used to do a full nines session twice a year, so 6 months give or take. But more recently my wife offered me to do MIAD sessions in between, so it's down to a few months now.
Because of moving and job changes, I have gone for over a year without so much as putting on a pair of panties. But the desire always comes back. And while it is not as pressing as it once was, I look forward to those times when I have the opportunity.
If you mean fully stepping into the role and out into the outside world - it's been about a year and a half. Before that - about 20.
If you mean doing something less than fully stepping to the other side - I've always got something going on under my outer disguise.
Not much, usually just panties, but hey - it's something - and I need it to maintain my emotional balance.

Debs, I underdress everyday and wear nightgowns at night, but as to fully dressing it can be months due to my living situation.

When I read the title of this thread dressing was not my first thought.
Not taking circumstances we can't influence (like when I was 2 days on business trip), then 1 day without dressing top. And I get full make-up at least 1 day every weekend.
At one point in my life, I went for about ten years without any crossdressing or desire to. Turns out, I can only do that when everything else in my life is going well. So now, I just crossdress whenever I want to, since I live alone again.

Why don't we understand our desire to dress, behave and feel like a girl? Because from childhood, boys are told that the worst possible thing we can be, is a sissy. This feeling is so ingrained into our psyche, that we will suppress any thoughts that connect us to being or wanting to be feminine, even to the point of creating separate personalities to assign those female feelings into.
I can go indefinitely if I have to. I don't want to. I have gone two years before. Now my life is in a state where I have opportunity to sleep crossdressed every night. Out of bed, not so much, but I try.
An inverse way of thinking about this that I've been testing on myself; how long can you go and keep crossdressing? Many years ago, I decided to wear pantyhose every moment of every day for a month. Outside of showers, and changing pantyhose, I made it like 27 days and finally reached my limit. Seemed silly to stop perhaps, but I'd told myself when I felt I'd reached the limit, I'd stop whether I made it to a month or not. This past February+ I went over 30 days wearing pantyhose 100% of the time except for showers. Never felt like stopping. The only reason I did was it started to get warmer, and wearing pantyhose under pants at work began to be uncomfortably warm. I'm on another run though; since before the beginning of the year, I've been crossdressing every night. This is normally a nightgown (or two; I like the feel of nylon nightgowns against each other), bra, forms, and pantyhose. I haven't missed a night. Each night, I sort of ask myself if I want to stop. I haven't wanted to stop, so I keep going. I suspect I could go indefinitely. I'm going to keep doing this until I don't want to, or circumstances arise that I can't for some reason. It's been internally illuminating.

I can dress everyday for a month or once or twice in four months. For me it is more about dressing when I feel comfortable to do so.
Well the UK school holidays are about to start so since I'm still mostly closeted then I'm about to hit a 3 week drab spell!
It's been a very long drought around here; ever since my wife fully retired. It use to have a full day of domestic chores to do. I found go out for an evening stroll or drive, while letting me scratch an itch, was never fulfilling. My wife use to go out of state to visit our daughter or her cousin which gave me seven to ten days of 24/7 activities. There was a time when I did the entire makeup/transformation routine, full makeup and fake nails or nail polish. I found it time consuming and ended up only applying lip color so my coffee cup would have the outline of my lips and the scent would rise up my nose. My wife an I sleep apart due to medical/back issues, so I do get to sleep in a nylon nightgown every night with a bra and panty set and perhaps a full slip.
I can go several weeks without dressing up. No big deal as I don't really go out or anything, I just do it mostly at home.
For years I was able to fully dress every 2 weeks or so but since retiring i have had to make some changes I can handle a month or so without dressing Jill.
