    The stuff of nightmares.

    Good title eh?
A few posts recently got me to thinking how much fear this interest generates. It's bloody stressful for a pastime.
I am sure there are many high stress moments that would make a great comedy unless they actually happen to you in real life.
Here are a few that are probably quite common.
You have a friend round and realise an 'item' is left out in plain view but they haven't seen it yet.
You get locked out...dressed and forgot your key.
    A pair of panties is......Yikes!....MISSING!
Your new boobs just got taken in by the next door because you were out when they were delivered.
You sent the 'wrong' email to the really very very very wrong person because they have similar names.
The woman in the shop is looking at you funny and smiling a lot because you are wearing dangly earrings (eyeliner, lipstick etc)
You help someone look for something on Ebay and find...."From your last purchases you might also like.....lace bra, yoga pants, fully fashioned stockings, party dress etc)

I need a less stressful interest.

Great post. I can certainly see where this would be an issue. And for sure have had those times in the past. More times than I could ever count.

But thankfully now my life has changed enough that I really no longer care who sees what.

I someone walks into my house there is no telling what they could see.
my sister's reply when I told her how I prefer to dress

"Everyone has there thing, all that matters is that you are happy, love what you do and who you do it with"

Julie there are a few others

Like being asked who the woman was driving your car ?

Someone who knows you passing. You wonder if they know its you. (I was sat in bar eating and an acquaintance passed within three feet of me. My heart was beating a lot faster for a while)

Or who was the blonde/brunette I saw visiting your house the other day ?

My son in law and I were needing some specific tool and I figured we'd look at Home Depot's and Lowe's websites to see if they had it. Opened my laptop and it had decided it was a good time for an update. As we're waiting I realized that it would go to my lock screen when it finally opened, which was currently a rather sexy pic of me. I quickly closed the laptop saying something like "this is going to take forever, I'll use my phone"

The things we have to worry about that we could have easily avoided...

Julie, I think I've been victim of about five of those. My BFF (wears panties) has the same name as across the street (flies flag) neighbor. Accidentally texted picture of the playhouse with the pink closet opened.
Wrecked and totaled my car in a parking lot. Blindspot meets signpost. Bra and large forms quickly hidden as curious folks approached.
Emailed a picture of something in a store from my phone to my wife. She replied, "Hmm? Carla?"
I could go on. I guess that's part of being old. You've had time to screw up.
I've waited so long for this time. Makeup is so frustrating. Shaking hands and I look so old. This was a mistake.
My new maid's outfit is cute. Sure fits tight.
And then I step into the bedroom and in the mirror, I see a beautiful woman looking back at me.
    Smile, Honey! You look fabulous!

In my old place I knew only two neighbours: Some old man we had a bit of history, because he parked like blind and I couldn't drive off with my car and then next door family.
Guess who were the only people I met in the hallway.

During Covid I was living with some roommates, I did laundry on my day off, it was a small load so I was able to carry it to the machines without a basket. Well flash forward to when all the clothes were done I brought them back to my room. About 2 hours later I went out to make myself dinner and when I was walking back to my room I found a pair of my panties on the floor between my room and the laundry area. I panicked and picked them up quickly before my roommates came out again. I don?t even know if they noticed them on the floor or not.

I will say I have had some of those misadventures happen but with my DADT wife. I do have "ebay" and "Amazon" on auto-fill so,if she were so inclined she would see items that I have viewed. Dig a little deeper and she could find past purchases, She has found an occasional bra and panty or unexploded falsies (AKA, water balloons) that I failed to police up. She has seen packages that I did not open in front of her. Once a nosy neighbor saw me fully en femme in my backyard. There have been those snide remarks from non-accepting sales clerks.

My biggest concern would be having a automobile accident fully en femme. That hasn't happened yet.

Your shorthand descriptions really made me laugh.

Might lend you some stockings (wears panties). LOL

Stressful is a understatement. My biggest lesson is always look back before I leave a room. Even with that rule just a few weeks back my fem stuff is all in one room and I use the spare washroom next to it to wash off makeup or anything fem. A few weeks back after putting everything away I washed my breastforms in that washroom and for whatever reason I left them on the counter. I went back in that washroom a few days later and there they were in plan view. I was very lucky non of the grandchildren didn't come in that period because they nap in the next room. Sometimes as careful as we are we can still slip, and as much as my wife is pretty accepting this was going to be a big issue. My daughters find a needle in a hay stack they would have found them in seconds.

I guess CDing is a huge playground for nightmare ideas, although my wife likes to pretend to be surprised I’m a crossdresser, I keep telling her that being unintentionally found out by a wife or girlfriend is a terrifying nightmare for us. Can’t relax in that role play scenario

Ha, so many of these resonate with me!
Also: becuase I do most of my shopping on Amazon, the home screen of our Fire TV stick now regularly shows ads for my preferred brand of makeup! Nobody's commented on it as yet.

Not stressful at all any more.
Sure, when I was in hiding all those things were part of my life. When I opened that closet door and walked out that all stopped.

Not stressful anymore for me either. At my age worrying about what others think is no longer much of a worry.

"Who was that woman driving your car?"
"That was Belinda, my alter ego. I live as a woman much of the time these days." No longer very embarrassing.

My phone has outed me to my wife's best friend. I texted her and said are we OK, and don't let my wife know. It hasn't been an issue.

I went to a restaurant last year when a player I previously coached about five years ago was the waiter. If he figured me out, he didn't say anything.

Today my friend Michelle needed to meet with her real accountant and run some errands. The real accountant has seen me dressed so I went dressed. Michelle needed to go to the bank to get a loan check for her business, and she wanted me to come, so I walked into the bank and met her loan officer. No biggie. Next to the credit union to deposit the loan check and another check for storm damage. No issue. Five years ago I would have been freaking. These days, I just figure people don't know who I am, so even it's a person in a dress, they still don't know it's me in the dress.

I am finding that tons of people just don't care, and most of the fears are in our head.

April, my SIL saw me outside in a skirt and cami and told my daughter. Her answer: "Yeah, he does that." I didn't know she knew.

I was thinking about this the other day. We invest so much time and energy into remaining secret. We go years trying to do everything we can so that a single mistake causes it to all come crashing down. Each moment we do something to try to be secret is invested with so much value as it represents the potential failure of all the other efforts we've made to try to remain secret. It's a heavy burden at times. Sure, it becomes habit to be so careful, but within habit comes complacency, which begets mistakes. Yes, it is a hobby that is stressful...except it's not a hobby If it were, we'd find something that didn't have so much stress

I seriously dislike all the "helpful" profiling the web does about us to help us find things we'll likely be interested in. It is highly, highly irritating. MS Edge (among many others) is seriously bad about this. I use Edge only on the rare occasion, but it's ALWAYS watching anyway. I buy something using my Firefox browser, and Edge knows about it. **** OFF!

When you have everything out in the open as I do, you NEVER have any nightmare scenarios. I wear dresses all the time, and on Saturday nights I pick out the dress outfit I will wear on Sunday morning. Usually I will pair the outfit with black or navy 3 inch heels.

Left my Grindr phone app open on my desk and my straight buddy walked by it and glanced down quickly.
