I've been to rodeos at the Bell county expo center (between Waco and Austin on I35). Houston is a 3 hour drive from my place, so I don’t get there often. Good luck to you! I can sympathize with the walking problem. With my broken hip, I'm happy I can walk from my chair to the bathroom. However, this is just temporary.

Your problem reminds me of a guy I encountered when I lived in Tampa, FL: an able-bodied guy who would go down the middle of a very busy street in an electric wheelchair wearing nothing but a pair of shorts. The ultimate in Florida-Man cool. I suppose that this sort of thing could help you do your rounds, but I wouldn't recommend it. This ain't Florida, after all.
