    Question re: breast growth

I hope that this question is not out of line for this forum. If so, my apologies. I've recently been prescribed medicine that, among other side effects is a chance of causing gynecomastia. Since I've started taking it I've noticed that I often have a strange sensation in my breasts. My nipples become very sensitive, almost irritated for no apparent reason. It hurts to have them rub on my shirt. I've not seen any changes in the size or shape of my breasts but I wondered if the sensations that I am experiencing are the beginnings of some breast development? In the past my blood work has shown my testosterone to be on the low side of the spectrum for a male and my estrogen has historically been on the high side of the spectrum. For any of you that are on HRT, am I experiencing the symptoms associated with breast development?

Your symptoms are similar to what some young males experience around puberty when estrogen and testosterone are beginning to sort out their roles. These symptoms do reflect breast tissue stimulation. Don’t hold your breath waiting for significant growth. You may experience slight growth, some growth, rare case lot of growth, or just sore nipples.

I constantly had sore nipples when cycling which I put down to a shirt rubbing.
It then happened after the boob job when I was wearing a sports bra. So not chafing.
Sore nipples are common, better get used to it. If they get really bad see a doctor just to make sure it is nothing sinister.

Early ln in my HRT regimen, I noted that I was developing lactation glands - confirmed by mammograms, not very much later. Change to hormonal levels can definitely cause changes in body aspects repressed by prior hormonal balances.

Update and question. I've noticed over the last few weeks something new in the fit of my T shirts. I wear cotton T shirts pretty much every day. In the last few weeks I've noticed that some of them have begun to ride up in the front and seem to catch or hang up above my boobs. All day long I have to pull the front of my shirt back down to where it belongs. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I've not gained any weight. In fact, I've last a few pounds due to a reduction in alcohol consumption and a bit more exercise. I can't see any real change in the size or shape of my breasts but I can definitely feel them in the tighter fit of some of my shirts.

Early on in my HRT treatment, I noticed the sensitivity in my nipples that you mention, and I started wearing looser knit shirts to reduce the rubbing. I started wearing pull-on T-shirt bras and removed the padding to stop the creep that you mention. Hope that helps!
