I have a good friend, call her K. She and her husband are dear friends with me and my soon-to-be-ex-wife. She has known about Joanie for a couple of years and is extremely supportive. K wears shorts, capris, and pants, but never wears dresses. She came over for dinner a few nights ago, and the conversation turned to clothes. She said she had bought a few skirts and dresses. I was surprised, and asked her what made her decide to do that, and she said "you did". Apparently my talking up the comfort of wearing skirts got her interested in trying some. She had bought a couple last year when she asked me to take her to my favorite thrift stores for her birthday, but I don't know how often she wears them. She was raised with two sisters in a conservative family and the only discussion of skirts was all about not letting anyone see your underwear no matter what, so I think she decided they were too much trouble. Speaking personally, it did not take long for me to just naturally keep my skirt modest when I sit down or get out of a car. So I hope to see her new clothes soon.
