    It's not her fault

I came home from work today with my wife apologizing as soon as I walked in the door, and she said she made a mistake. We are having some of our house painted and I say some because it started off as one room and it will soon be the whole house.
A few years ago my wife took an old armoire from her mother and put it in our spare room so I could keep all my fem stuff in one place.
Today she asked the painters they might as well paint the spare room also but told them when they move the armoire to make sure they don't block it in because I have to get in it. When she heard them moving it she remembered she should have maybe moved some stuff inside but by the time she went in the room the door swung open and one painter picking a wig up from the floor and there were a few size 10 heels on the floor. They apologized telling her the door just opened by accident but she said they kind of had this stunned look on there faces of course after she told them before it was her husband armoire.
I told her not to worry about it and she should never apologize to me especially for anything that comes from my dressing. I apologized to her because she shouldn't have to be feeling bad and dealing with this stuff. I told her thank goodness she didn't hire her family member to paint because it would have made the situation a little worse. Things happen and I guess with her just being comfortable with the situation I guess it could happen
Just another day in our crossdressing journey.

She should not worry about what painters think. It's your home, they are not important in the big scheme of things. Sure, they may have a story to tell, but it shouldn't have any reflection on you.

Maria, The workmen do not know who the wig or shoes belong to, even if your wife said the armoire was yours. Really nothing bad happened.
Please call me Jamie, I always_have crossdressed, I always will, "alwayshave".

So, she asked the painters to paint the spare room on the spur of the moment, without your prior knowledge.
No wonder she needed to apologize!
You are kind and generous to graciously forgive her insensitivity, and failure to at least lock the armoire and the drawers.
    You have a good relationship!

Of course, you can tell her "no problem" - unless she caught them trying things on!

Like I said Gal, it started off as one room and I believe we are a couple of rooms away from the entire house being painted. You know women, she calls it the pinball effect, once you get started it pinballs everywhere. Thats why my friends have a saying "the best way to stop the pinball effect is not to start a renovation".
Sara thanks for the laugh and seeing the bright side of it.

I always make sure nothing is left out for anyone to see to maintain my privacy. It's bad enough when a wife in a DADT marriage finds something left out than a family member coming across a large size super high heel at the foot of the bed. Any rooms left to paint?

Unless your wife said specifically, "Don't touch those wigs and dresses, they're my husbands." I believe you're both over thinking this, Maria. As Blue pointed out.

Besides, unless the painters r aquaintances? Who cares what they think?

Now, if they had gotten paint on your things? THEN, your SO owes u a big apology!
U can't keep doing the same things over and over and expect to enjoy life to the max. When u try new things, even if they r out of your comfort zone, u may experience new excitement and growth that u never expected.

Challenge yourself and pursue your passions! When your life clock runs out, you'll have few or NO REGRETS!

Wow. I thought at first you were joking, but, no. I will gladly take Maria's wife "insensitivity" any day.

Maybe just tell her she doesn't need to be embarrassed for you if you aren't.

So it's her husband's (your) armoire, but she keeps the Halloween stuff in it? It's the only logical explanation, unless her husband is a crossdresser or something
    Life is short
