She said she heard on the radio today the 45% of men try on their wife's clothes when the are alone.
I think that number is super high.
I thought we were special.

O wad some Pow'r the giftie gie us
To see oursels as ithers see us!
I?ve always thought the percentage was much higher. It doesn?t necessarily mean they get hooked, like us, but lingerie has always had an attraction to guys. In my clubs locker room, there were always men?s magazines laying around. The most popular? The Victoria Secret catalog. Who knows what goes on in private. My golfing buddy, an avid hunter confessed he tried on his wife?s pantyhose and found them warm and comfortable. He told me he always wears them when he goes hunting. His wife OK?d it. I just smiled. I?ve often wondered if he tried other things. I?d bet the barn he has. I agree, we are special.
That number is too high. I don't recall the numbers but think the old Kinsey report had between 4 and 10 percent.
I think that number is extremely low. I think you?ll find some where some time if men were truthful or not embarrassed most would admit trying on something of the wife?s or girlfriends clothing. 😁🤦*♀️
That is complete balderdash, Nat!
I was an average guy for 50 years. And, altho I had numerous opportunities to try on women's things in complete privacy over the years, But, I never did. Know why?
Because I NEVER EVEN THOT OF IT! And, neither do most men!![]()
U can't keep doing the same things over and over and expect to enjoy life to the max. When u try new things, even if they r out of your comfort zone, u may experience new excitement and growth that u never expected.
Challenge yourself and pursue your passions! When your life clock runs out, you'll have few or NO REGRETS!
I have a difficult time believing 45% if for no other reason than the usual size difference between men and women. And I don?t think that the percentage of men who want to crossdressing is quite that high. I?m inclined to think it is in the range stated by Kinsey and other researchers. For me, a not so scientific metric might be the number of panty reviews on retailer websites. Vanity Fair and JC Penney?s for example. Probably somewhere in the range of 2 to 5 percent of the reviews are written by men.
Is Some one peaking in my window
Having my ears triple pierced is AWESOME, ~~......
I can explain it to you, But I can't comprehend it for you !
If at first you don't succeed, Then Skydiving isn't for you.
Be careful what you wish for, Once you ring a bell , you just can't Un-Ring it !! !!
My personal experience is 100% of husbands does
To be more serious, how many used to do incidentally and how many permanently?
For sure majority is not going to admit if asked.
If it makes you happy / It can't be that bad
If it makes you happy / Then why the hell are you so sad?
I talked about it with my therapist a bit and she said that it's really common for men trying women clothes, just vast majority make nothing out of it. Basically one-and-done. The percentage of actual crossdressers who either wear their partners' clothes or have their own wardrobe, that will be significantly lower.
Like a lot of people tried cigarettes, but much less keep smoking.
How many men have tried on pantyhose. That would qualify right?
If so the number might be about right but does not mean they have crossed the line over to be one of us. You have to get hooked on it ; )

Trying something on is one thing, and I imagine it's higher than the 45% quoted. Wearing things repeatedly, especially things that can't be justified, I think is a much lower percentage rate (pantyhose is an old hunter's trick to stay warm, I wouldn't count that as crossdressing if it's for that purpose. Pantyhose for the look and the feel, I would).
Life is short
so if it's true...and I think it's probably unlikely....does it make you feel better about being a crossdresser?? and BTW, Kinsey was published in 1948, so lets think about that context.
I can see that many trying them on, but I'm sure it's far fewer who actually wear them as we do.
I don't wear women's clothes, I wear MY clothes !
We ARE special. As for men in general trying on clothes? Matters not. You will never get an accurate count. As I see it, their loss.
I tend to agree, that while 45% ( possibly much more) have tried on women's clothes, very few have continued to dress up and buy outfits for themselves. Trying something once doesn't make you a crossdresser, but, when it becomes a big part of your life; thinking about it, buying clothes, dressing up regularly, even coming on sites like this to chat with other girls or meet up in real life, it's certainly way lower than 45%, more likely to be 4.5%!
I think that is a low number Natalie. If this number was acquired via a poll of men, I'm pretty certain of it. I think most men would not even speak of having done such a thing, much less admit to it in a poll. However, how many men not only will admit to it but actually and unashamedly take on a full female alter ego? That's pretty special I think.

Seems a little high, but as a one and done thing for the laughs, some kind of play/skit, or a partners teasing, I might see 45% at the upper end. Yet as expressed by numerous other posters here, should this number even be accurate, this is the incident rate of men who have cross-dressed, which is not the rate of crossdressers.

Just thinking about this again, if the number was that high, it would be more acceptable in society and there would definitely be more openly public crossdressers. It would also be more likely to be openly discussed by men, it's effectively 1 in every 2 men, something that common would be discussed more and be more visible. Huge difference between a one-off and something that's a regular occurrence!
Then the natural assumption could be that 65% of all men can't fit in their wives clothes.
I've waited so long for this time. Makeup is so frustrating. Shaking hands and I look so old. This was a mistake.
My new maid's outfit is cute. Sure fits tight.
And then I step into the bedroom and in the mirror, I see a beautiful woman looking back at me.
Smile, Honey! You look fabulous!
If the poll was "have you ever wore something of your wife's" with no other connotation, the 45% might be fairly accurate. Stating the obvious, I know for me that dressing "full fem" fulfills a completely different aspect/need than the casual curiosity of trying on an article or two of the wife's. I think it's pretty safe to imagine the people here are in a <0.001% special group.
What a wonderful world it would be if the stat was accurate with those living in their true gender identity.
Lies damn lies and statistics according to Mark Twain.I don?t think that is an accurate percentage of analysis.
I think that percentage is overstated or there are a lot of ripped seams on a wife's clothes.
