    Divorce

For many people, divorce seems like the end?but for me, it was the true beginning.

When the door closed, air came in. I felt light, beautiful, free.

Today I gave myself a day just for myself: waxing, beauty salon, laughs with my (female) friends? all without judgmental glances, without having to hide who I am.

And tonight? I'm going to a (male) friend's house. I want it to be one of those nights that your skin remembers for a long time?full of affection, desire, and truth.

Finally, I am free to be?and feel?my most authentic self.

Glad you found your balance. My wife and I built a life together and I would be miserable if the crossdressing made us part ways.

When I came out to my wife the possibility of divorce was very real.
I would have lost so much had that happened. Yes, my feminine world would have exploded for sure, but there would have been a tremendous void also.
Luckily that didn't happen and I have her full support and love.
    I don't wear women's clothes, I wear MY clothes !

Yup! First time. It just ain't happenin' this time! But, do enjoy the fresh air.
I've waited so long for this time. Makeup is so frustrating. Shaking hands and I look so old. This was a mistake.
My new maid's outfit is cute. Sure fits tight.
And then I step into the bedroom and in the mirror, I see a beautiful woman looking back at me.
    Smile, Honey! You look fabulous!

Good for u, Tammilee! Divorces can be costly and nasty! But, now you're free!

I know so many couples over the years who have become roommates. Everyone changes in time. With the affection and intimacy long gone, they stay together because it's easy and cost effective.

And, I read so many posts here that sound like 7 year olds asking their mommies for permission to wear panties and make up!

But, that's not what life is about. It's about being free to live the way u want as long as it doesn't hurt others! And, as an 80+ year old? I can tell we r ALL running out of time! Compromising is absolutely necessary to maintain a successful marriage. But, knuckling under to an overbearing spouse will ruin your relationship, too. It did mine!

It had nothing to do with my dressing. Which only blossomed after we broke up. I was tired of the arguments so I began letting her have her way. Eventually, I got sick of that and angry at her AND myself! Point being, after a year of no intimacy or affection we parted. Best thing that could have happened for us and out kids! We'd grown apart. Now, we were both free to live the way we wanted. And, Sherry was born rite after!

Yes, our divorce was a nasty couple of years. But, the 25 years since then have blotted out the pain and sorrow. And, it will for u, too, if u finally realize you've had enuff!
U can't keep doing the same things over and over and expect to enjoy life to the max. When u try new things, even if they r out of your comfort zone, u may experience new excitement and growth that u never expected.

Challenge yourself and pursue your passions! When your life clock runs out, you'll have few or NO REGRETS!

I understand quite well the feeling of freedom following a divorce. However, in my case it had nothing whatsoever to do with crossdressing. I was married for 17 years when the divorce took place (at my urging). I simply felt trapped with a woman I no longer had any more feeling for than I have for the sidewalk. She was/is a nice person. There was just no emotional bond left. I've now been married 41 years and, while not supportive, my wife does accept the hobby I discovered about 5 years ago. You will look back on your divorce as nothing more than a speed bump that you went over on your life's journey.
It's never too late to enjoy a happy childhood.
Live each day as though it's your last 'cause one day you'll be right.
I'm finding the more feminine side of me...and I ❤️ this adventure.

TammiLee, I am sorry about your divorce, but sometimes it does help our mental state. I know mine did.

I am in the same camp as Diane T and Blue Orchid and my dear wife iof many years is more important to me than my desire to dress up. But whatever makes you a happier person is good for you and not just me, but I?m sure everyone here wishes you the best.
