Lack of opportunities to dress up

Hi girls,
I haven't been able to dress up for a while and due to life circumstances, it's going to be a while before I can dress up again. It's beginning to get me down, especially, this time of year when I see all the beautiful outfits women wear around Christmas time. Just wondering for other girls who can't dress up for whatever reason, have you found a way to cope with this, normally this doesn't affect me, but, for some reason today its really hit me hard.

I totally feel the pain. If I am cut off from being my female self I get really sad. To be honest I don't know what I do, I think I just puts it in the female mode drawer and closes it.

Me too, although not being able to dress seems to be an on going problem for me. My only thought about dealing with it is some retail therapy. Being able to cruise the racks and maybe buying some small item like a few pairs of panties seems to lift my spirits. Maybe a festive red pair to wear on Christmas Day. Probably explains why I have so many!

I was recently at a Christmas event and two young GG?s were there dressed very nicely. One had a shorter skirt with glitter disks that caught my attention. The other beautiful sleeveless dress that seemed out of context with the very cold temps.

Maybe heading to a store yet today myself!

I'd rather go to a party and dress up really nice. That's not always possible. You have to make your own opportunities. If there are no events to go to find events to go to. By that, I mean join groups that have events, not just our kind of groups. groups yoy could extend this to. Maybe a hiking group may be a biking group, maybe a gardening group. If i'm not having enough to do i'm blaming myself.

There's always errands and things around the house. It's not the same as fancy dress up, but it fills the gaps in between, and it lets me be me.

The holidays are especially difficult if you are unable to dress and express yourself.
They used to affect me that way as well and I'm sure those in your situation suffer the same effects. You just have to press on (not the nails) and do what needs to be done looking to the future when things will change, as they always do.
There is no cure all for this or anything else. Persevere is all we can do.

On Sunday mornings when I attend church, I either wear a man's coat and tie outfit or a dress with heels and makeup. That depends on the season. When the weather is cool I alternate between the coat and tie, and a maxidress. When it is warm, which is most of the time as I live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, I wear V neck wrap around dresses. At other times I wear dresses minus the makeup and heels.
So, I have PLENTY of opportunities to dress up.
