Janet jenkins

I chose my name because there was a girl in my high school class that was named Janet and she was very beautiful and then it picked up Jenkins along the way not really sure where but it kind of. Flowed (Janet Jenkins) it has actually been very interesting to introduce myself to people as Janet and that they have only known me as her.

Bryce is a slight variations of my given name. Always liked the name Breanna though.

I went with Sophie because it's the name my parents would have given me had I been born a girl. I use it mostly for online purposes, when my friends call me it, it feels awkward. Maybe just need to get used to them not calling me Phil.

My given name is Christopher, so I went to Christina then shortened it to Tina. Interesting thing is though I've just discovered how much I love CDing, I'm almost 50, I picked my female name when I was 23. At the time I was thinking that if I was a girl that would be the name I would want. Now I can finally use it. :-)

I think it was when I was around in 4th, 5th, 6th grade, there was a really good-looking girl at my school. Long dark straight hair, fair complexion. Intelligent. A bit on the quiet side, but still sociable enough. And she had that special something about her that drew me in.

Alas, she was in love with the school hunk who hit puberty early. I had no chance with her -- or, at least in my mind I didn't.

Her name was Laura, which I feel is a beautiful name for the right girl.

If she only knew that I swiped it from her! :roflmao:

My Mum was assured by the doctor that I would be a girl. Close! They could not fine the boy bits when I was born. My parents gave me the only name they had chosen-Catherine Anne. It was my Granny's name. So I had a double barrelled first name and no middle name. To my Mum-Mary Jane, her sister-Mary Elizabeth, and her best friend-Mary Grace, all thought this a good idea. I ended up developing to personalities, one masculine named Gabriel and one feminine-Catie-Anne. After Gabriel "introduced" me to our parents, my folks asked what name I used-Catherine Anne, what else. My Mum cried and both my folks asked why I had waited 18 years. They said they knew from the time I was little that they had a daughter. My Mum started calling me Caitlin-Catie in Irish. I am so glad they picked that name.

My name is Christopher. I actually got my femme name from my wife. Talking one night, she just referred to myother half as Crystal. It sounded nice and felt right. So here I am world, Crystal.

My wife gave me the name Jane because it was close to my real name so that's how I got me fem name

I chose rebecca because it's exclusively femminine ,I dont know of a male alternative ,other than that I just always liked how it sounds

Detroit Molly
09-04-2016, 12:08 PM
I went with Molly because of the character Molly Millions from William Gibson's Sprawl Trilogy (Neuromancer, Count Zer0, Mona Lisa Overdrive). I don't really use a surname with it, but on the rare times I do I use one of the surnames Molly used in Gibson's books. I also use Molly/Moll as character names when I play a game like Fallout or Pillars of Eternity where I get to make my own character.

Marcelo
09-04-2016, 08:41 PM
My birth name is Mark so I came up with Marcy which is the nickname for my hero character of Marcelo Hunter. The last name of Hunter is the last name of a beautiful woman who I am in love with.

Here is the opening paragraph of my hero biography.

Marcelo Hunter was born in 1968 to Ernest and Carmen Hunter in Longview, TX. In Germany, his father was known as Ernst Jäger but he changed it to Ernest Hunter upon immigrating to the United States in 1967. This was because his father, Günter Jäger, was supposedly a mad genetic scientist under the Nazi rule of Hitler. Carmen, who was from Spain, gave the name Marcelo because it is Spanish for little warrior. (Günter Jäger is German for warrior hunter).

My parents had always said they wanted a girl, Jessica was the name (i like my spelling better, lol), yet to this day, their health and failing memories have not allowed them to tell me what my middlle ame would have been. I want to know sothat not only thru memory and ink, but in name they will always be honored, knowing or not.

Bear in mind my dad is no idiot, i know he has a clue, too many VS bags to the house, but he qould never ask, their are too many other more important things to deal with here.

susancheerleader
09-05-2016, 06:58 PM
I took my name Susan from a girl I had such a huge crush on in school. She was also a cheerleader. Soooooo tada! Susancheerleader was born.
However I think I am going to drop the cheerleader part.
Anyone know of a 53 year old cheerleader? I don't. So it's got to go. It doesn't fit my age.

Ashley Nicole
09-10-2016, 10:41 PM
Mine was actually fairly simple. When I was born, my parents chose not to know the gender. They picked Ashley Nicole if I was a girl. So later when I became a girl, that's the name I kept.

lynnstar
09-12-2016, 05:05 AM
I chose lynnstar as my female name, mainly because i like the name lynn and star because i am a trekkie. Actually. Lynnstar was suppose to be Lynn Star but forgot to space between the two names.

That is very cool.

- - - Updated - - -

I chose Peggy Nell Rump. I was trying to find a name that fits me and my korky personality. I am from the county, so I think everything just fell in to place. So for fun if I write my name down it will be Peg N. Rump

Samantha Lynn
09-20-2016, 02:50 PM
I chose Samantha after Samantha Fox a British singer and a page 3 sun girl when she was 16. I like large breasts and she has them so I chose her name. Samantha Lynn

I haven't put much thought into it until recently, as I just started really getting fully made up. I have a few ideas in my head but nothing really jumping at me. I think the leader is Ezri, but their are others. Maybe once I have finally looked into the mirror and decided yes, this is girl me, something will stick.

Hey! My name actualy came from video game. Creating my charcter for game (female, what a shock :D ) and i was suppose ti pick one of predefined names. And somehow Ashley realy get to me. Later i start using that name o lot on internet and my femme side like it to, so she got herself a name :) Also good thing is that Ashley is actualy unisex name.
And little interesting story I ll add. Once I did those online fun test "What your name say about you". I know they arent serious and i didnt expect anything interesting from it. So I put in my femme name and I was very surprised with result. It was like reading about myself and exactly describe me as person. Almost made me to cry from sudden happines how it fit me. Coincidence? Nah, more like destiny I would say ;)

I have three that are up for debate. Luz, Lucy and Inese (Greek) are the ones that other people recommended. Probably going to throw some other names into the pot.

On a whim recently I chose Natalie to be my female name. I took it after a girl I was absolutely crazy over in school. She was the perfect everything in my eyes but we grew up and grew apart as well. I still love the name though, hence why I chose it. <3 Natalie

Army Aimee
09-28-2016, 08:55 PM
While I'm still pretty new to this, I originally went with Jenna. I named myself after a awesome girl I used to work with.

I recently changed to Aimee for good. I decided to change after finding out that had I been born GG that would have been my name.

i've been meggan since forever. but i've contemplated changing my name to something more similar to my guy name.
kinda feel that meggan makes me more anonymous and i'm getting tired of being hidden. since my guy name is david, dayna or simply dee sounds more... real.

April Showers
10-01-2016, 04:03 PM
My mum used to tell me that when she brought me home from the Hospital on the bus ( this was Scotland in the 50,s no one we knew owned a car) She had to walk the 2 blocks from the bus stop to the house in one of the worst April showers she had ever been caught in. I always thought it an appropriate name to use seeing as I was brought out into the world during said showers. By the way my mother, now 84 bought me my first wig (over 40 years ago) and was the first person I ever told. She has a photo of me taken the first time I ever went out dressed and used to ask people who came over to the house if they would like to see a picture of her other daughter....I love my mum.

Kendra Sue

I went with the female version of my own name. Seems more natural somehow

Keriala
10-04-2016, 09:49 PM
Keri is a pretty close approximation of my boy name. I chose Melissa for a middle name for no reason, other than I liked the way they sounded together.

Arriel
10-05-2016, 12:04 PM
I always thought that Arriel was a pretty name since I first saw The Little Mermaid. Plus with my real name starting with A it seems to fit me well.

I kind of made up my first name out of parts of my real name. I am totally into High Heels so my femme last name became Talon, which means heel in spanish :)

Barbaramoi
10-09-2016, 05:09 PM
TBH I wanted a name that had no relation to any part of my - or my wife's - life; didn't want any subliminal connections to other aquaintances that we have. I also needed to find one that I would find sympathetic (not sounding like a cheap tramp). After a fair bit of consideration I finally decided on Barbara. The name seems to fit me somehow... even my wife knows it (and pulls my leg a bit about it). But it suits me - it's a useable name in both the English and the German speaking world (we're in Switzerland)

My female name is simply one of my favourite female names! Xx.

Gracie Mae
10-13-2016, 02:40 PM
Grace was my first wife's name. She grew up on a farm in the country, a typical country gal with a great ass. Because she was built like a brick shithouse and flaunted it when around us, my final wife hated her. She took to calling her "Gracie Mae", what she considered to be a derogatory name. When I first began dressing, I used a more typical fem name, but Gracie Mae stuck with me and I soon adopted it. Its been the a great conversation starter for almost 30 years now.

Lorileah

Not sure why you would want to be built like any house  but please tone it down on your next posts. It comes off as really misogynistic and male centric

kathy chelan
10-14-2016, 06:56 PM
I chose the name "Kathy" because of the girl by that name who was in my life for a few years who I really cared about, but never really made it with her. Probably a good deal of that was because she lived about one hundred miles from me in southern New Mexico.
We would always see each other at music festival days at the university I attended and at the All-State Music Clinics in Albuquerque in the Spring. When we met I was in about my second or third year of college and she was a h.s. junior. The four-piece garage band I was in played a dance at the teen center in her town and these 4 girls decided one would write fan letters to each of us. I had not even met her that night but we struck up a pen-pal relationship because we had so many things in common. Our friendship only went so far, because I think she got pregnant and could not tell me at the last All-state dance I took her to. The following year on band-tour the university band played at her school and she met me there and after lunch in the cafeteria she drove me to her home to say high to her mom again and there was a baby also.s It wasw a very short visit as I had to get back. We lost touch after that and I always regretted that I didn't follow up with her more. she was a sweetheart, a real honey.

I posted this once before but its been years. So here it is again.

Katherine was my Great-Aunt. My mother was her favorite niece. Apparently I was her favorite Great-Nephew. The feelings she had for my mother filtered down to me. I am not sure why, but sometimes I think my mother talked to her about my; lets call them special needs. Like most of us I use to get into my mothers closet when I young. I love trying on her shoes and other garments. Yes, she caught me a number of times. I remember the first time she chewed me out real bad. I was so scared she would tell Dad. She caught me again a few months later. This time she did get on me but it was a more tender speech, maybe trying to understand why I was doing it. Up until my mothers death we never really talked about me being Transgender or anything like that; but her comments over the years lead me to believe she knew about my internal conflict and knew more than she ever disclosed to me.

When ever Aunt Katherine would visit she would always spend time with me. Of course she would see the other 3 boys in my family but never really spent time with them. Sometimes when her and mother were in the kitchen talking she would have me come in to sit with them and have cake or pastries. Thinking back now it seems strange but if I was a young girl it would have been perfectly normal. I believe that Aunt Katherine knew more about me than I did.

Katherine was years ahead of her time. In the days when women took care of the house and let the man be the foremost figure in the house hold; Katherine was in a completely different category. She was strong willed, and wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. She irritated my father. Mother knew when to hold her peace around dad, but not Katherine. Katherine was married but her husband died when I was very young and I don’t remember him. Mother always referred to him as a good man. Katherine never had any children so my brothers and I were more of her adopted family. Of all the Aunts/Uncles and Great Aunts/Uncles in my life, Katherine was the one I truly loved. She always treated me in a way that just made me feel good. Whether that was because she treated me more like a little girl than a little boy, I don’t really know. I do remember her telling me a number of times; “What a pretty little girl you would have made”. An NO, she didn’t pinch my check.

I spend years dressing in private and referring to myself by a number of different names. When I finally decided to take my Cross-Dressing public, and venture out of the house dressed, I chose a final name that fit the internal women I wanted to represent. Katherine Ann Barns.

Nothing Earth shattering here. I didn't want to just make something up at random, so I use the letters of my initials (in no particular order). And an extra "m" for a touch of femininity. My last name is a play on my real first name, though.

Stephanie47
10-22-2016, 10:10 AM
There are many girls named Stephanie on this site so I had to add something at the end of the name to get it posted. So, Stephanie47 is comprised of my birth year, 1947. I was the second son born after World War II. My parents or at least my mother thought the perfect family would be an older brother and a younger sister. Well, the sperm worked fine for the first born, who was named after my grandfather. My older brother's middle name is Stephen to honor my grandmother whose name was Stefi. I don't know what my mother was thinking. Then I came along, but, I was suppose to be a girl. Sperm did not come through the second time. What to name a second son? How about Stephen, which like I said was also my older brother's middle name. I swear my mother was not slugging down shots when she came up with this. I had heard too many times when really really young that I was suppose to be a girl. Fast forward and guess what happened. Duh! Another kid eleven years later. What sex? Why a girl. What to name her? How about Stephanie? So we now have three offspring with Stephen or Stephanie in their names. No prize for originality.

So when I enrolled on this forum I thought. Heck, I was born before my younger sister, and, I was suppose to be her. So I selected Stephanie. At the time I had been estranged from my sister. Since then we have gotten back together. Maybe I would have chosen a different name. Later than that I found out my grandmother's middle name was Elisabeth. Had I know at the time I enrolled on this site would I have chosen Elisabeth? No, that's the name my wife chose for our daughter. That would be just too creepy.

Interesting.
The S.O. asked (when we had The Talk) if I had a name for my feminine identity; that woman that lives inside me. I told her "No. My name is (male name)." I've always gone by that male name and, frankly, never gave it a thought that my femme side had its own name, identity and life She was, and is, a part of Me. So, I don't live by another name when I live dressed..... though the thought is becoming more appealing.

When I joined the Forum, I had to have a screen name. I borrowed something from Mom, of course. I like the ring of Ilene. Kind of an old fashioned name with a bit of elegance to it. It's an honor. When I'm dressed, I am a dead ringer for her.

Shellycd12
10-23-2016, 02:03 PM
Shelly just fits for me. I started out with Michelle but my friends shortened to to Elle which I wasnt crazy about and then a friend said that the name name Shelly fits me. It did. I loved it and now everyone calls me by the name that just fits me. Shelly

Karyn Marie
10-23-2016, 05:00 PM
I chose my name based on the first letters of my first and middle name. I thought and thought about it for a long time. I thought of Kathy, Kerry, Keri, ECT, but they just did not feel right. I had alsways really liked the names Karen and Marie. As I sat on it and contemplated the name, I really liked the look of it being spelled with a "Y" and not an "E". It was at that time Karyn Marie came to life. I recently came out to my wife, at which time she asked if I had a girls name. I said I did, and she asked what it was. I told her and she said she really liked the name and felt it was so pretty. She even asked if she could call me Karyn whether I was dressed or not. Of course, I was ecstatic and said YES!! :cheer:

Katrina red nails
10-25-2016, 07:03 AM
My real name begins with a K so wanted my CD name to do so too. I used to work with a girl called Katrina who wore very high heels and pencil skirts so I chose to copy her name. She used to bite her nails badly though and I love to paint mine red so put the two together. She obviously had no idea what i was into.

Becky Blue
10-26-2016, 01:37 AM
Rebecca is a name i always loved and when I saw myself as a girl for the first time properly I just knew that is what my name is

Also I liked the fact that it shortened to Becky & Bec both of which I really love too. In addition I have no relatives or friends called Rebecca and it could not be further away from my male name. The name also fits in really well with my heritage and is very feminine - ticks all my boxes

Futurist
10-26-2016, 07:01 PM
First of all, I would like to point out that, in spite of the fact that I very frequently cross-dream, I generally tend not to want to use a female name when I will be cross-dressing (in short, while the idea of being/becoming a woman actually extremely strongly appeals to me, actually living as a female/woman would unfortunately cause me to become dysphoric; indeed, my brain is unfortunately simply not wired in a way which causes me to identify as female :( ).

However, if I had to choose a female name, I would certainly choose Danielle; indeed, it is the female version of my actual first name and I certainly like the way that it both looks and sounds! :)

Eve_cd
10-26-2016, 10:28 PM
My femme name is Eve. I didn't always have one, but spending the better part of my life fielding: "nice to meet you Adam, where's Eve?" made it an easy choice. Plus it's fun to laugh on the inside knowing she's not far, lol.

Hello girls. My female name is of course Jessie (with the i) it feels natural to my feminine side and its what i like and suits me

Maria Darkspace
11-03-2016, 04:44 PM
I guess I suffer from multiple personalities. I have two very distinct female personas. Maria is a 36C, likes mid length dresses and capris, flat sandals and 3 to 4 inch heels. Then there's Jenny. She's a 36D, loves mini skirts and very short, tight, dresses, 5 to 6 inch heels-no platforms. She also never wears a bra. She tends to come out whenever alcohol is involved.

I am new to this my real name is Edwin so Edwina would work but I dont like. As I have support from my wife I think I will ask her what she wants to call me. Any thoughts on that

Lucy23
11-08-2016, 12:12 PM
To be honest, Lucy was an afterthought. As I said in my introduction, I have never developed a female persona; after spending some time reading the threads and forum I just went with the flow and thought up of Lucy just because I use the male name Lucius on other forums and networks I frequent. And it sounded nice :)

I went with Rachel only because when my mom was pregnant with me she was sure I was a girl and had decided on the name Rachel. I don't know if it fits me or if I actually like it. I have been going as Rachel in forums etc., but only for a pseudonym. Not until my wife recently asked me if I had a female name did I actually question what it would be.

I've always preferred the female version of my name, Erin was an easy pick. It also works out nice as it's just a natural extension of my feminine self.

Bailey_in_Mansfield
11-16-2016, 12:22 AM
Hmm. Bailey is the name of a girl I had a crush on for a long time, and I imagined that if I'd been born a girl, I would have wanted to look like her. So I went with that for awhile, including when I signed up here.

If I HAD been born a girl, my parents would have named me Amanda, and I do have the middle name too but I'm feeling like maintaining my privacy on that. Anyway, I've occasionally used that name when ordering femme products online and stuff.

The name I go by lately is also one I'd prefer to keep to myself (because this one is very public), but basically: I took this name from one of my characters in World of Warcraft. I like the way this character's personality has turned out in RP. She's a lot like me, and a lot like how I think I would be if I'd been born a girl. And amusingly, that character also took her name from a girl I'd had a crush on for a long time. :P

I have had "my name" since day 1 -- not sure if that is good or not. It was given to/suggested by the woman that helped me with my dressing interest. She picked it because I reminded her of a very famous person with the name. Anyway, she had a service that supported cross-dressers and worked with me to shop for a very basic wardrobe. In retrospect, the outfit and wig were "very, very, very basic and inexpensive", but I was happy to finally indulge that part of my personality and also, to know someone that did not judge me. While the basics are all gone now, the name continues.

JustJoni
11-16-2016, 04:39 PM
My femme name is simply a play on my male name. My wife suggested it after we tried a couple of other variations on the same theme.

I wish my parents could remember what they might have named me if I had been a girl. I'm named for my father, but even that was simply because they couldn't agree on what to name me. Alas they can't even remember what names they both originally chose.

ElleStreet
11-18-2016, 07:37 AM
I only joined a little while ago, I was flicking through this site (I hadn't read all that much of it at that point) when I decided I wanted to make an account. For some reason I thought that rather than peoples usernames here being indicative of their chosen female name, a lot of usernames were just puns based off of female names instead. I had just finished watching an episode of a TV show where they go to a bar called L-Street so that was the first thing that popped into my head and I put it down.

next thing I know, everyone in that 1st thread I posted was calling me Elle so I was like 'well, I guess that's my name now'.

As far as unexpected names go, it couldve been a lot worse.

Some of us chose the female version of our male name, others were influenced by people in their lives. Me, the former....in a way. I always liked the name Michael and sometimes wish that had been my name. So Michael became Michelle!

Growing up I had the privilege of knowing two young women named Megan. One I knew when I was in high school and the other when I was in college. I had serious crushes on both of them but I never had the confidence to ask either one of them out. I am sure it was all for the best. Both of these women were beautiful and were two of the kindest, outgoing and confident women I have ever known. Even though they were way out of my league they always found a way to make this nerdy guy feel special. When I was thinking of a name to call myself, I wanted to select a name that held some meaning to me. The name Megan reminded me of these two women and if I was going to be a woman, I would hope that I could be like them.

Christina is just the feminized form of my middle name (Christopher). As for the "D," I was supposed to be named David after my grandfather who died when my mother was about 9, but my father had other plans. Anyway, if I ever give a full name, I go by Christina David.

Coming from a Mexican family, we loved watching Telenovelas on week nights. One character that popped out to me was named Raquel. Really liked how Raquel sounded, so I decided to take that as my name.

As for Atwell, I took that from the actress Hailey Atwell. Such a beauty, and a great taste in fashion.

As my old male name didn't have a feminine counterpart, I had to work out on a new one.

And so, Anna was the perfect name for me.
It is very beautiful and starts with the same letter of my old male name.

And as I work on international environments, it works great as in almost every country of the world my name is pronounced easily and pretty much the same way. :)

Tonight my wife was ordering dinner on the phone and said the woman's name out loud. Jokingly, and to keep my recent coming out as CD light and playful, I said "oh, I thought you were calling me Erica". My wife replied, a little sarcastically, "I thought you were Julie". I said you don't like that name? She said it's just not how you want to think about your husband. I said it's just another part of who I am. The coming out continues. Slow but steady progress. Julie

Not much originality to my choice, I feminized my birth name, Stephen, however my feminine side comes from within my masculine body so Stephanie fits.

CrystalMatthews0426
12-26-2016, 10:31 AM
I honestly don't remember why I chose the name Crystal, there is no female counterpart for my birth name, I may have subconsciously chosen it because it's the closest name possible (my parents named me Craig) so the Cr is at least the same. My chosen last name, Matthews is my middle name. My mom always joked that she chose middle names for my brother and I because they would be easy to use as a last name if we ever wanted a stage name if we became famous and didn't want to sound so Jewish. Ironically, my first "girlfriend" (I use quotations because it was 4th grade so it's not like we had an actual relationship) was named Crystal. Not sure if that somehow influenced anything.

Initially a female friend of mine who used to practice her makeup skills on me called me "Mona Lisa" as a nickname years ago (circa 2005-2007). Between that and imagining my female side as akin to Marissa Tomei's character in My Cousin Vinny (Mona Lisa Vito), and thats the source in a nutshell.

She had a radiant smile and a really cute behind too ; ) I knew that's exactly the type of woman I wanted to be. As for my last name Tempel, I took that from my first avatar in Secondlife - a highly addicting online game that lets you be whoever you want in a virtual reality world.

Hi newbie here
I would have been called Megan if I was born a girl but my gf knows about my dressing an that's her sisters name so she came up with Jodie as my male name is joel but she soon was put off the idea when she realised I had an old Gf called Jodie so after some discussion we agreed on Kayla and I love it :) x

My female name is Tara. It was the first name to pop into my head that shared the same first initial as my boy name. It also happens to have the same number of letters, so that is cool. I haven't decided if I am going to go the distance and come up with a last name. If I was born a girl, I would have been named Katie Lynn, but that is too close to Caitlin Jenner for me. Perhaps Tara Lynn would be a good name.

Sasha is derived from my first name. It is a name that started out long ago as a male name but these days it is more often associated with the female gender than male. It is in fact quite useful as I can order stuff on-line and if I don't use a title no one is any the wiser.

Some years ago I joined another forum (music related) and initially everyone on there thought I was a female. :)

I've been at this for decades, but I've never settled on a proper feminine name. Is that weird?

Julie MA
01-28-2017, 09:47 PM
Swimtran, I don't think that's weird. I do think some of us, including me, think of our femme sides as someone different from the male person we present as most of the time. And those two sides are different, driven by all the things in our psychology and society that make being trans or a CDer so difficult at times. In the end I like having a separate name. I went to a CD store to shop, in guy mode. The owner asked about my dressing and my femme name. Then she called me Julie several times. I almost teared up having that side of me being acknowledged and accepted, while not being dressed as a woman. It even feels special just typing my name to every post on this forum. I recommend giving it some thought and try it. Julie

I've tried a couple of different names at different times, but nothing has stuck. It always feels artificial somehow. Maybe it's because I never chose my male name, and if I get to choose my own feminine name, since it's not given to me, it's not so firmly attached? I had a dream years ago where a name (Angélique) came to me, but after a while the excitement wore off. Turns out a relative has it as a middle name, and uses it sometimes on social media, and I felt a bit icky about using it further.

Gabriella111
01-28-2017, 10:31 PM
Swimtran, perhaps try a name that has some meaning that is relevant to you.

For example, Gabriella is not my name. I wanted something that was clearly feminine and had some meaning. I am unconditionally accepting and loving of my CD boyfriend, so sort of his angel. I'm not religious anymore, but appreciate the concept of angels, which are genderless but masculine, thus all the male names. And it seemed sort of appropriate that I would take on a masculine figure and feminize it... you know, considering. So that's where I went. I particularly like Gabriel, as he brought messages of hope (for those who believe in the Bible). And that's how Gabriella was born.

Aunt Kelly
01-29-2017, 01:23 AM
Swimtran, sounds like maybe you want to pick something, but are casting about for how to choose. If that's the case, Gabriella's advice to choose something with meaning, is sage.

I took a name many years ago, more or less at random. It never felt quite right. No meaning. Eventually, I decided to consider all of the strong women I have known. Some historical figures, some acquaintances, just brainstorming. Thinking of who my feminine self would most admire. The list got pretty short at that point. I knew I wasn't looking to be any of those women, not even to be like any of them, really. Just something that suited me. I threw in a little ethnic bias (turns out I've got a fair bit of Irish blood in me), and it came pretty quickly after that.

In the end, a name is just a name, so no, not having one is not any weirder than having one just to have one.

If I was born a girl I would have been named Barbara Ann. When I was young that was my femme name. When I came out to my wife she called me "Tina Marie" because I reminded her of an old friend so I changed my femme name. Later a drag troupe saw me and wanted me to perform so I came up with Tina Bell, a takeoff of tinkerbell. I actually worked out a couple numbers but chicked out.

I had two close friends which placed an ie on the end of my male name. I secretly loved it, but that was 20yrs back ( I think they new before I did). I'll be Stacy forever now !!!

And I'm Loving it.

Swimtran
02-19-2017, 01:10 AM
OK, I've been mulling this over for the last few weeks. I thought about a few dozen names, all of which have different levels of meaning. Former girlfriends' names, crushes I had, strong women in my life, in general, classic names, pretty names I've always liked, names I could have been given if I had been a girl...

It still felt random. I came up with some good ones, but none of them felt like they had anything to do with me. But I kept thinking about it. Something was bothering me about this.

Finally, I had a powerful epiphany (as you do) while driving to work. I'm half-French-Canadian, and my parents gave me a good idea for naming my children: choose a name that works for both sides of your kid's background, to give a connection to both parents. In my case, something French that works in English, too. I'd been pondering this for my feminine name all along, but the name Marguerite came to me. That wasn't it, either, but I thought in English it would be spelled Margaret, which also wasn't it. But if you translate it to English, the French word "marguerite" becomes:

DAISY!

All of a sudden, all of the feminine tendencies I'd had all my life coalesced into a coherent sense of taste and style. The name Daisy triggered this new way of perceiving my femininity as something whole within me, rather than a random set of occasional impulses I would act on then forget. I perceived that my femininity goes deep into my soul, and I've been suppressing it all these years, even as I've indulged it here and there with adventures in bathing suits and lingerie. The fact that I hadn't discovered my feminine name was a symptom of just how tightly I held it back, as recently as my previous post.

So now, I'm proud and happy to declare that I am Daisy. I'm updating my online presence accordingly.

For me, I've always been attracted to the fluidity and changeable nature of water. It also has a very feminine aspect to it, which I am in harmony with.

I feel that coming to know myself and understand who I am and why I am the way I am has been a journey that has taken me far from where I started to where I am now, with many surprising twists and turns along the way. There have been times where I felt like a tranquil pool, content to be where I was, and others where I felt I was rushing far too fast in uncertain circumstances for my comfort.

I don't have all the answers, and I don't even understand the questions, but I'm enjoying just finding my way as I make my journey downstream.

I feel that I'm small and insignificant in the larger scheme of things, and I'm fine with that. I don't want to be anything of importance, I'm content in being a small, quiet little brook, as peaceful and as feminine as possible.

So it was easy for me to be Brooke, since I always have been her.

I'm a Star Wars fan, particularly of the mandalorians. In mando'a adika refers to a child of either gender. Felt fitting that I would take a name that was based on something with duality. Btw mandalorians don't care if you are man, woman, gay, straight, trans or not. They have no separate terms for son/daughter, mother/father.

I have a problem with names. I've had so many female names it's really just a joke. 'Wen' is just one random name I picked when I joined this site 13 years ago. I've got many others. At least six I can count offhand that I am addressed by in different circles. I wonder why this is that no name ever satisfies me or signifies my personality?

I think I am going to go with Kairi.

It's not very common, means melody or ocean. Both flow and ebb, one with the control of the owner, one without.
Kinda makes sense to me. I am a man hence the control but often like to look like a woman, hence without.

For years my female name was Veronica or Victoria, I couldn't really decide. The first time I dressed up for therapy, also the first time I went in public, my therapist greeted me with, "Hi Petra!" and it stuck. I love the name Petra Victoria.

Francene Lola Dupree
04-13-2017, 11:14 AM
I chose Francene because I was obsessed with Frank the Rabbit from Donnie Darko when I was first starting to develop a fem persona. I spelt it oddly by mistake the first time but stuck with it because it's different, and I like different.

My middle name Lola was to reflect my live of historic racing cars, and Lola made some of the prettiest.

My last name Dupree is the surname of a californian rapper, which was the obvious choice for a white boy from the countryside...

...thus, Francene Lola Dupree xXx

I thought Lacey was a soft feminine name. I originally wanted Tiffany but that did not last. (Wife had an aversion to it)
I've tried kaylie as well but my online account at the time went to Lacey so I've decided to stay that way to keep up a continuity. Had my parents had a girl I'd just have ended up with my sister's name so that didn't quite sit right.
Also Lacey is a description for some of the underwear I'm so akin to wearing in secret.

Caroline Varg
04-15-2017, 01:20 PM
Wow, this is a difficult topic. I know that I will be quite serious about by TV/TS journey, so my female name must really be right before I decide. Meanwhile, I need to pick an online name for joining forums. Carolina is the Swedish version of Caroline, and is a name that is somewhat similar to my male name. Thus a temporary placeholder. I really look forward to the day when my true femme name "arrives" upon me.

Sherilyn Cassidy
04-18-2017, 02:18 AM
I am a big fan of Marilyn Monroe and have been for many years. I just love the sound of the name Marilyn and thought "oh yeah that's going to be my femme name". But it's not. I don't ever recall hearing the name Sherilyn. It just came to me so easy like everything has since embracing this awesome femme identity. It just rolled off the edge off my mind and I loved the way it rolled off my tongue. It's a perfect fit. It has absolutely nothing to do with my given name. It's all brand new just like Sherilyn is. And I gave myself a new last name as well. Cassidy. I can't tell you where it came from either but I love my new name Sherilyn Cassidy and I love being her One day will I make it my legal name. My daughter thinks it's a perfect fit and now will only refer to me as Sherilyn. Everyone else that knows about my changing life now calls me Sherilyn and I wouldn't have it any other way!!

At first I just named myself Zelia. Just a name I came up with and I love it. Shortly after that I decided to become a princess so i was Princess Zelia and all bowed before me. After being a princess was not enough I needed more so i joined the Decepticons and sought to kill Rodimus Prime and strip the Matrix of Leader ship from him. I succeeded and became a prime. I swore allegiance to Megatron and the Decepticons to wage war on the autobots as Princess Zelia Prime. Through out my journey I still needed more power so i followed the path of the ninja and ended up becoming the 8th Hokage. So my full name is Princess Zelia Prime the 8th Hokage. But you can just call me zelia for short :D

Hi Zelia,

Pleased to see you've started posting.

"Shortly after that I decided to become a princess so i was Princess Zelia and all bowed before me."

Wow! So that's how the system works?!?? And here's me striving and breaking my neck . All this time!.. OK, so if I appoint myself queen....

"After being a princess was not enough I needed more so i joined the Decepticons and sought to kill Rodimus Prime and strip the Matrix of Leader ship from him."

No problem. Yikes, he was ugly anyway :yucky:. What was he?... Some sort of van? He looked good as Hot Rod, though. Wait, we're talking about the real transformers here, right? I.e. the 80s' TFs?. Should have taken out Ultra Magnus, too. Horrible Autobot. Terrible leader :thumbsdn:. Optimus Prime forever! :notworthy: .

Allying with Megatron is actually understandable. His ruthlessness granted him some great lines :shades:. He lost the charisma as Galvatron, though :thumbsdn:. Whoops, spoiler alert! :) .

# ♫You've got the touch,

♫you've got the power!

ps. Oh, [-]"Lydianne"[/-] "Queen Lydianne" . . that was chosen randomly :D .

Stacey (as it now is) started as Stacie. Now it's become Stacie Marie Bell. I have a thing for the name Stacie for a girl and the rest is for my wonderful mother, R.I.P.

I chose something that was close to my birth name. I know over time I will most likely adjust it some. I will always always identify to my birth name in certain ways. It just doesn't completely describe me. As my journey continues I feel I am adding more and completing myself.

I needed a handle for a online 3d community, after a few attempts JennyLiz, came out and was accepted. Over the last year I have gotten to a point where I realized that not only was it a good fit for me but I also like it. I then took it a step further and lengthened it to Jennifer Lizabeth, Keeping the short form of JennyLiz. On the plus side Its also the initials for my legal name as well.

Now I can shop online, have the packages sent to my job and no one on either end knows.

My first name is the name of one of my daughter's high school friends. She has a wonderful personality and is quite smart, so the name reminds me of someone I strive to emulate. I also like the sound of the name.

I never thought of a female name at the beginning, but my wife (who not only accepts my CDing, but encourages it, that's another story), suggested I take one. We discussed quite a bit and we settled for Ophélie, which is a nice and very feminine name in French which happens to be my mother tongue. Well... Not much about it, but I love that name and it stayed...

ginapoodle
04-29-2017, 09:52 AM
Well, Gina, of course. Has a letter count matching my male name and other matches

Gina is often an Italian given name. And I had DNA done and yes I am 20% Italian ancestry. We lived over seas and encountered Italian culture many times. The style and uniqueness of Italy is remarkable. I even ride an Italian motorcycle. Gina Lolabridgida comes to mind, and many gifted Italian artists. Love everything Italian.

So there you go. Veloce!

I used a couple names in the past; Jessica, Britney, and Christy. But not too long ago somehow baby names came up during a family discussion and my mom told me if I'd been born a girl my name would've been Amy! Oh if she only knew hehehe!

I did not get to choose my name, my girlfriend selected it for me (unconfirmed but likely from a One Tree Hill valentine's day episode). I never really pictured myself as a Marguerite, but as they say if the shoe fits.

My mother though she was having a girl and she loved the name Kyle. She had a friend in school with same name. When i came out i was a boy and she never changed the on the birth certificate. I asked if she knew i was going to be a boy what would have been my name. Alexander after a teacher she had a crush on.

AileenCD
05-09-2017, 10:49 AM
Aileen is a little variation of the name of a woman I'm very close to, and is a GG mentor. Our physical chemistry is very strong...when we are together, even just on line, it sometimes seems like we have just one, very womanly, body together. I had another name, the name of a cute girl that I would love to be like, but one night Eileen and I came up with "little Aileen", an expression of her own womanhood.

This was easy as I embraced the name my brothers teased me with as a child. my Wife even guessed it right away.

Darla
05-16-2017, 04:01 PM
Well - Darla for two reasons. One: I used to want to get the Victoria's Secret catalogue when I was growing up (as much to envy and want to be the women as to train my male gaze on them). So I invented my alter ego signing up as Darla rather than my real name. Funny how that was prescient to who I like to call myself.

And then there was the lucky accident that Darla was one of my favorite Buffy characters later in life. Badass vampire chick. That felt like it cemented it right then and there.

And so I'm me!

Mine came about one night on chat when I realised everyone had a name except me. It was also the name of a girl I dated once who was pretty and I always admired how she looked. I've always thought that what I've tried to achieve when I'm feminine was to look like her.

MissEllie

I chose Elita after my favourite brand of day wear panties. Since this was the first CD/TG forum that I joined back in 2006, I have used the name on many more sites.

My girlfriend doesn't like it though and calls me Mari...

By the way, what happened to Your female name Part 1?

My first wife of 17 years once told me that if shtf she would use Linda as an alias. Many years after her passing when i finally got real with my feminine side, the question came up and it was Linda,
Funny, I dont really care for the name that much, Something, someone inside me gets a happy charge when i am called linda. Its nice.
Jane, well, it just seemed to fit and i do love the band janes addiction.
"Jane says, have you seen my wig around? I feel naked without it"

This is not just an addiction, i cant even tell you,
Peace Ladies...

I myself had a difficult time with a finding a name I felt comfortable with, so I asked a few TG friends what their thoughts were. They made a few suggestions which were interesting, some of which I definitely could not relate to. Iris was the one suggestion and so I figured I could tried it out for awhile, figuring I could always change it if needed. Well it's been 8 months now and I feel I've grown into being Iris. Kinda like naming a baby. A name will grow on you and become part of your being. At first, the funniest part is when your forget to react when people are calling aloud your name.

I toyed with a few before settling on Stacey. I won't bore you all with the details but it works nicely on a number of levels when considering my femme identity alongside my full male name.

As I settled on it and looked at myself dressed and called myself by name then there was a very satisfied feeling in my gut, I just knew it was right.

I was actually having a PM conversation with KatieV when all of a sudden she started talking to Gwyneth. I though she had mistakenly sent something to me meant for Gwyneth. Thanks Katie!

My ex was on board and actively encouraged my dressing. At first, just panties, bra, etc. She still called me Jack but when She decided we should go full Fem and full time when at home, it just naturally became Jackie. She also often referred to me using feminine pronouns which was sometimes embarrassing.

Stephanie Nicole. I didn't want to have a name similar to anyone in my family ( I have a really large primarily female family who don't know about me) and I always did like Stephanie so when I chose it it felt like it was me.

Crystal 42
07-31-2017, 12:06 PM
My first femme name was totally different to my current one and while I used it for years in many ways it never felt completely like me. Once I finally accepted myself I knew I needed a new name because the old one had too much baggage attached. My birth name is Chris so Crystal seems like a very natural female variation to me and it just seems right. :)

Molly J
07-31-2017, 05:36 PM
I quite like the pretty girls and names on the forum. Molly was a really nice RA for the dorm my ex-girl friend lived in. I always liked the name and admired Molly the RA but I'm not completely sold it's right for me. Right now, I'm not sure what I am. CD, non-binary, gender fluid, androgynous? The journey towards discovery continues. I just know that I need to express myself in more feminine ways and finding a female name that suits me better is low on the totem pole for now. So Molly works for now. My name was supposed to be Robin if I had won the xx lottery at birth. My male name doesn't translate to a female name. I do like the names Emily, Diane, Michaela, and many others. Female names tend to be more poetic with more rhythm. Am I right?

I've gone by a few different names over the years. I've used the name Alison for nearly 15 years and only recently switched to Nora. (I actually still use the name Alison in some places just for consistency sake) When I switched to Nora it symbolized being out. Alison cross dressed in secrecy while Nora was going out there..... I'm a member of a support group that isn't about gender issues, although they do have Gay chapters. I've attended some Gay meetings as Nora, which was a bold and rewarding move for me.

I originally started with Michelle, as I liked the name, but I was also intrigued by others whose full names said something when said all together, like Misty Eyez or Ima BadGirl. So I became Kaylie Daskope (kaleidoscope), which to me is something ever-changing, but always unique and beautiful.

Well,,, I guess I should put my 2 cents in here, I've been through a few different names in the past 40 some years. I had finally settled on Elizabeth, or Lilly for short. And have gone by Pinklilly for years. But one weekend at my best Gurlfriends place She came up with Lillith Palozza! Like Lala Palozza, I LIKED IT! It is me!! Wild and crazzzzy! and still Lilly! So Lillith Palozza It's been for almost a year now!!!

It is so interesting learning how we came up with our names. It's not like our birth names, which we didn't have any input into, but it allows us to express who we are now. I chose Robyn because it is a pretty common name but the spelling is somewhat unique like I am.

Thanks for the suggestion! But to me it doesn't sound feminine enough. Plus it's the same problem with my wife's sperm donar having too similar of a name. The best thing about our girl name is we can change it so easily. I have thought about charlotte but haven't made a final decision

I just recently was thinking of a name change to something more feminine and sexy, but I can't change it now because I have a lot of things tied to it. But I like my cute name.

I chose Kimberly because it's a play off my male name. The last name is Cross because I am a Crossdresser and thought it was a cute play on words. The name Kimberly Cross could be a news anchor or attorney that's a superheroine at night.

I was born in the days when parents never knew the gender of the baby and so they were prepared with a name for either outcome. Sandra was to be my name if I had been born a girl and so it seemed appropriate to embrace the girl I was meant to be.

09-18-2017, 11:05 AM
The basis of choosing Jennifer, was very much due to watching Friends in the 90's. I was absolutely head over high heels for Jennifer Anniston. Cute skirts, heels and hose, I very much dreamt of being her. Not to mention the power she posses which is ultra hot! So Jennifer is it. Hall is not my actual last name but it does begin with an H, so at least my initials match.

Hi all,
I’m new here and am unsure how I feel about choosing a female name. I don’t get to dress very often and wouldn’t want to live as a woman. It’s just something I do occasionally, and when I am dressed, I do the same stuff I normally do. Should I pick a name even if I don’t feel like I have another person to name?

Also I knew a gg named Faith, she always had nice makeup and hair.

Deborah2B
10-02-2017, 08:48 PM
I wanted a name that had the same initials as my real name. I did this in case I needed to sign or initial something with that feminine name. I also figured that with the same initials it would make it easier to remember. I was always partial to the name Deborah regardless of the initial thing. I don't remember where I came up with the Marie part but it sounded good together in my mind.

Linda P.
10-04-2017, 11:41 PM
Linda was the name of a next door neighbor, daughter of my mother's best friend. I remember her beautiful party dresses that my mother who was a seamstress, would do alterations for and so would have them hanging up in the house. I had not given any thought to crossdressing at that age, but still there was something about those dresses that fascinated me.

Hi I am the youngest of six boys and i remember my mother telling me that after five boys they had picked out the name Linda for me before birth. This was back when you didnt know untill birth, what the sex of the child would be. (turns out thats not as easy as they thought it was). So when it came time for me to choose my name i picked the name i would have been given. Moms gone now so she dosnt know but she did get the Linda she wanted. Just took awhile for her to show up.

Hollibelle
10-15-2017, 11:55 PM
I do not really have a female name or persona really. My name does not have a feminine version. I gave myself rules such as the name I chose for the forum could not include the name of a relative or somone we know.

Hollibelle is a play a on anime character I was quite found pf which stemed from a bad translation from Japanese. I also used the name for MMORPG characters so the spelling got even further away from the source. And since I am from the south it is kind of like Holli Belle.

Charlotte seems to fit. To my mind it coneys a girlish sophistication, and allows me to dream of a life that can never be mine. But what happy dreams they are :):):)

My female name Rayleen has been in my mind since the beginning of my CD adventure, it put me in a feminine frame of mind .
A sweet, softer girly expression which I picture in my mind.

Lovely Allyson

I chose Allyson because there was this gorgeous girl named Aliso in my kindergarten. She was the prettiest thing I had ever seen, and these years later she still strikes me as the epitome of (nonsexual) female beauty.

I have always liked the name Claire. I went through a list of names with my wife after a bottle of wine and we both felt this was a good fit for me. I had a great aunt that was named Claire, so it's even a family name.

At an early age I always wished I had been born a girl, and for some reason Suzanne was the name that came to mind. So that's the name I went with.

I’ve had different ones: Lucia, Maria...all names of women I thought were gorgeous growing up BUT I chose Leah because it’s pretty and very similar to my male name.
