The first and only name I've given myself. I haven't had it long. But I liked it right away. It fit. So that's who she is/I am. Callie. Middle name Brianna - a name I never liked. But I love Callie Brianna.

Stuck to mine throughout. My ex-fiancee got unhealthily stuck on my liking of Sherry Stringfield from ER and I love the work of Lesley Stahl on 60 minutes - I combine the two and got my femme name.

Sometimes I think of making it more like my male name but cant go back after 20 years.

Melissa Geery
11-01-2017, 07:35 AM
Melissa means "bee" in Greek. Geery is a transliteration of the French word for healed. So my process of accepting myself as a cross dresser involves me naming myself "be healed". Could also be "be heeled" and work too. I'm a bit of a dork sometimes.

Melissa Lange
11-03-2017, 08:12 PM
It took some searching, but I when I found "Melissa", I realized it just fit. The "Lange" part flowed from there, though I'm less sure why.

Aunty_Hazel
11-08-2017, 02:55 AM
My first lover always said she loved my Hazel eyes, so Hazel was an obvious choice for a name.

In my younger days I made that Hazel Woods when a surname was required, or Hazel Twiggs when I was feeling frivolous.

For the past 20 years, Hazel has existed only in my head, whispering in my ear; and as I am fast approaching 50 her nuggets of (frequently bad) advice have put me in mind of a favourite, irresponsible, aunt from my teenage years.

Never really thought about what my name is. But I when I do I will get back to you all. :daydreaming:

Stiletto Gurl
11-17-2017, 05:27 PM
I chose the first name of a woman that found very feminine and very sensual....

AubriMikayla
11-18-2017, 06:40 AM
I was just looking for something original and flowed off the tongue and sounded elegant.

Wasp
11-22-2017, 09:14 AM
I've been using Janet on and off again. I'm a fan of comics and superheroes so a lot of my inspiration for names come from them. Hence my Janet/Wasp name here. I have a few other considerations like Alana, Jasmine and Miranda.

Jessica Heart
11-22-2017, 12:28 PM
Ive known a few very sexy women named Jessica. One of them was very curvy and gorgeous and I dressed up wanting to be her. Sounds odd i know. And then there is Jessica Rabbit... and for a cartoon.... hmm. lol. :)

As far as the last name, when im dressed I just LOVE myself so much more, so heart seemed like an easy choice. :)

Kelly4040
11-24-2017, 03:27 PM
I chose Kelly because I was a huge fan of married with children lol and Kelly was perfect. She was a little ****ty at times but she was just drop dead gorgeous.

Rowan Ailbhe
11-27-2017, 08:50 AM
Rowan is a masculine noun in gaelic for an ash tree...strong, slender and with pretty plumage, but which has become a femini e name. Ailbhe (Al-Vah) is gealic for "fair."

Anita Susan Jones
11-27-2017, 03:53 PM
Good evening Ladies.

My name is Anita (Susan Jones).

I gave myself the name Anita, following the dance group 2 Unlimited as the Anita was the female singer.

I'm UK based.

Anita

tylia
11-28-2017, 02:20 PM
I chose Tylia ,because it really sounds nice and it is a short name with 3 syllables.....(tie....lee...ahhh). Saw it written somewhere and it seems very rare

fullofwish
12-04-2017, 03:16 PM
Amy.

It's sort of similar to my male name, but it's just always been in the back of my mind for some reason as the name I associated with the "girl" part of me.

Katie Ann
12-04-2017, 08:08 PM
Katie Ann

This was going to be my legal name if I had been a girl at birth

Christina89
12-05-2017, 12:27 AM
Christina

I asked my mother a few months after I started dressing what my name would have been if I was born a girl. She told me christina cause it was a combination of her name and my father's name. Oddly enough I'm named after my father and I hate it.

I have a good friend who was a dancer, looks so great in leotards and tights. She almost always wears a dress too. She does not know that I cross dress.

I thought of a list of names that sounded feminine and cute- Shelley stood out due to a cheerleader I knew in high school who I thought at the time was the essence of femininity. But what sold it for me was it was also the last name of Mary Shelley, author of Frankenstein- the story of a harmless (beautiful?) creation that everyone turned on because they didn't understand it and thought it looked different and thus scary. Draws some parelells for me to this whole transgender thing. And hopefully I do a better job with this Shelley creation than her Dr. did with his...

Michelle_Mee
12-07-2017, 05:26 PM
I chose Michelle because it's the feminine form of my given name. My full name is Savannah Michelle. I thought it feminine and pretty and liked how the two names sounded together.

Jin
12-09-2017, 11:57 PM
My nickname back in school was "Jin", because our backwoods hicks could not spell "Djinn". As in Alladins lamp fame. I had a knack of popping in and out of parties without notice.
And for some reason all the boys wanted to rub my chest!

Robin Jenni
12-12-2017, 11:59 AM
I chose Robin because I was checking out names that were close to my guy name and that one seemed to fit me the best. I considered Paige since that would of been my name if I was born a girl but I just like Robin better. I also like to go by girl middle name Jenni cause it’s such a feminine name that contrasts my unisex first name

Yes, they do! Excellent choices!

TamaraD
12-17-2017, 12:02 PM
Tamara, because it means Palm tree. I am very tall.:sad:

Julia1984
12-17-2017, 05:43 PM
Julia because its close to my guy name. 1984 because we all betray the thing or person we love.

Esther Latour
12-19-2017, 07:01 PM
Esther, because i like the name and it might actually be the name my mom would have chosen for me if i were a girl, so she once told me. She likes weird old testament names. My real name is also quite biblical. The last name is random. I had to add something because the name Esther was already taken on this forum. Who took my name before I did? You have good taste in names.

AllieBellema
12-19-2017, 07:05 PM
With my love for Southern Belle dresses, I needed something that was southern sounding... then I got thinking and came up with Allie Bellema... which if spoken fast enough, almost sounds like I'm saying Alabama in a southern style play of words. Alabama being a southern state (despite me living in the Midwest), worked perfectly!

Emma S
12-20-2017, 10:38 AM
I actually have no idea what it was about Emma that called to me. I was looking at a list of girl names because there was never a name that I identified with and I saw Emma. I've always liked the name. I think it sounds pretty and like a younger girl. So I said, why the heck not? And for a whole 3 days now I've been Emma on here!

Turns out, it means "whole" which I felt like was fitting since I'm exploring another side of myself. Just trying to become wholly me.

Robyn17
12-22-2017, 04:30 AM
Hi there, I'm brand spanking new here and my name is Robyn. I was born Christopher and my grandma other wanted my mom to name me Christopher Robin. My mom was having no part of it. As a boy born in the 70s when we had books, I read Winnie The Pooh and it's just one of those things. Everyone that knows me describes me as tiger though lol. So although I go as Robyn, I like to think of Christopher Robyn in girls clothes and it's just his and pools lil secret! Hello everybody pleased to meet you!
Robyn

Hey there Emma! I love that name and always love to hear a story where the universe tells us that we are right where we are supposed to be!
Hugs, Robyn

Melanie Moxon
12-22-2017, 04:32 AM
I decided after much deliberation to go with Melissa for a number of reasons firstly because I like it :) and it shortens nicely to Mel, secondly it has the same number of letters as my guy name and the same initial letter so my cherished reg (a gift) on my car still has significance.

DavinaCD
12-22-2017, 11:01 AM
I actually sat here for a long time thinking of what mine might be, i had never really considered it before having never tried to pass in public etc. I um'd and ah'd for ages going through favourite actress',musicians, friends etc before simply settling for what was my gut instinct to begin with....a feminised version of my own name (im sure you can guess what that is). Its simple and yet somehow just feels right, much love to all of you ladies and your creative names but I am simply Davina a cross dresser x

ShaunaTossaint
12-22-2017, 12:09 PM
It was my wife really who gave me my female name. She used it the first time she saw me dressed even though i was not fully dressed. Its the female version to my Male name. I happen to love both. Seasons Greetings to all.

taracd25
12-22-2017, 02:36 PM
Mine was named after a girlfriend I had a long time ago, back in school. Always thought as I got older that I should of put more effort into that relationship, because nowadays her body type is what I am attracted to now. Might not be the coolest story out there. lol

Monique65
12-23-2017, 03:53 PM
I studied French in collage so I wanted a French sounding name. Monique sounds very mysterious and intriguing to me.

shypaula
12-25-2017, 10:05 AM
Paula because Paul is my middle name and it is the name of a past girlfriend who has now passed away.

cathernkelly
12-26-2017, 10:19 PM
I chose Cathern because I liked it and Kelly because I look like an old tire. The two of them seemed to go together. The spelling of Cathern is off the main track of names which was the vogue when I first started dressing. That was how CDs knew each other by their bad spelling. Now I always liked Kelly because it's Irish. I'm not Irish but I have friends who are and all of them always seemed to be really good people. That's my Good Feet Story.

Sissy_Jessica
01-05-2018, 12:23 AM
I chose Jessica as my first name because I have always loved that name and still do. I chose Ashley as my middle name also a name I really liked and I couldn't chose which one I liked more for my femme name.

Jasmine Rose
01-06-2018, 11:36 PM
I chose Jasmine partially because I wanted a "J" name to match my male name, and partially because I love flowers. When trying to choose a female name, I originally thought of Rose because I have always liked that name, and I got to Jasmine because it is also a flower.

EliseMichelle
01-07-2018, 12:49 PM
I don't know how or when it came up, but I recall my mother once telling me that would have been my name had I been born female. Plus, I think it suits me.

michele4848
01-08-2018, 03:29 PM
I chose Michele kinda like many others as an offshut of my male name. and like others my mother wanted a girl but got me instead. she constantly let me know that she was cheated by having me and not a daughter. besides It is very femme.

Drew GB
01-09-2018, 11:43 PM
As with most I chose my name by feminizing my Male name. And then reversing my first and second name. Honestly for as long as I can remember I was always called by my middle name. So it’s about time I made the change somewhat official somewhere.

gunta
01-21-2018, 06:20 AM
I'm Gunta, which is first part of my real first name

jasminemaine
01-24-2018, 11:42 AM
Christine Jasmine.

My name evolved in a few different ways. The Christine part was easy, a femme version of my male name - and come to find out, if I were born female it's what my parents would have name me anyways.

The Jasmine part stems from the movie Aladdin. I was infatuated with Jasmine from the movie (and I still like Disney Princesses). I was an avid user of IRC chat back in the early Internet days, and I had a handle of PJasmine (short for Princess Jasmine). That evolved to C Jasmine, then eventually Christine Jasmine.

Christina_Marie75
01-24-2018, 07:04 PM
Christina cam from my mega crush on Christina Aguilera, and from a good friend of the family, a strong woman I admire. Marie is just a pretty name, that actually is my daughter's middle name now.

CaseyAdams
01-27-2018, 12:43 PM
There are so many beautiful names, it was a difficult choice! Ultimately I chose a unisex name that I liked for the first name, and Adams after one of my favorite actresses. I felt the two parts went together well.

Joslin
01-27-2018, 08:01 PM
I came up with Janessa due to a ex girlfriend a long time ago and recently decided that would be my femme name what do you all think

~Renee~
01-28-2018, 08:35 AM
My name wasn't really an active process of what I want to be called. It was more like, what is going on in me, I AM Renee. I have no idea where I got that name at the time. Nor have I ever wavered on that choice for 40+ years.

Luci
02-02-2018, 05:55 PM
I go by lucianna. Lucy for short. Off of my middle name Lucian. Hi everyone.

Asew
02-03-2018, 02:14 PM
In high school I was making a name for a girl video character and didn't want to use my name. At the time I liked this girl who's first name started with "A" and last name started with "Sew" so I made the name Asew. And it has always been my go to name for video game girl characters. I am not sure how much I identify with this name in real life though. By the way I pronounce it like ah-sue.

My wife and I told her best friend about my dressing and she asked if I should when dressed I should be called a female variant of my male name. I don't really like that (too close). I definitely prefer Asew over that.

JulesLynne
02-05-2018, 12:08 PM
I’m new to this forum, but chose the name Lynne after my wife’s middle name. I thought that since this is such a personal aspect of my life, I’d like to have a deep connection to whatever name I picked. Honestly though, I secretly dreamed of being able to get a full body transformation and reveal to my wife, who could then look at me and give me my name. But it’s somewhat a “chicken vs egg” thing in the sense that I’d like to use this forum to continue to learn about dressing, relationships, and myself and I needed to have something to use to sign up... so here I am!

April Doe
02-05-2018, 07:02 PM
I'm new here also. April, for the month of the year that I blossomed. I also enjoy the symbolism of new growth. Doe, as in Jane Doe. A real person whose identity is either unknown or intentionally withheld.

insuntan
02-06-2018, 08:37 PM
I am Charlotte Daniella Quinn. Quinn is not my last name but I chose it since if I could be a real woman I would love to look like Jamie Quinn who modeled pantyhose on pantyhose addict.com

Jess Jones
02-09-2018, 06:38 PM
Welcome Lynne.

rebecca.leeann

Rebecca Leeann

Alana Westenra
02-16-2018, 03:51 AM
Alana because it rolls sensually from the lips and tongue, Westenra after Mina Harker's free spirited best friend. (Where my Literature nerds at?)

Julia1984
02-16-2018, 08:54 AM
Alana. I was trying to place Westenra. Didn't it end badly for her too, or did she escape the Counts clutches?

Alana Westenra
02-18-2018, 11:57 AM
Yep, Lucy was taken out by Van Helsing. I always appreciated her inherent wildness in life and un-death.

Stephanie Kimberlie
02-19-2018, 08:43 PM
I chose my name from supermodels Stephanie Seymour and Kimberlie Conrad and last name from Diana Prince (Wonder Woman).

VivianFrost
02-21-2018, 11:00 AM
Vivian comes from Vivian Leigh. My mom loved Gone with the Wind and watched it a ton when I was a child, so I loved the name once I saw it. Leigh is the Mistress of Resting Bitch Face and a total beauty. Frost comes from when I played an online game called City of Villains. I saw another character, female of course called Courtney Frost, and totally dug her outfit. My first femme name was Courtney, so I always remembered and liked the symbolism of the last name Frost(being a cold and dominating female). That's my origin of sorts!

Kathleen Ann Trees
02-21-2018, 11:57 AM
Hi, I'm Kathleen Ann Trees. I've known and loved so many K named gals over the years (Kate, Kelli, Kathy, Karli, etc.) that I wanted one of my own. Kathleen is a nice and pretty formal name that allows for casual variations. Then I wanted my initials to spell something, so KAT was a natural with more play off Kathleen. (Ironically, I'm more of a dog person, but willing to be open to kitties) After a while I came upon the idea of Trees as a surname. The different looks of a snow covered winter, floral spring, full green summer, and colorful autumn is a wonderful metaphor for my changing looks and desires. The tree has become my icon. I have pictures and tchotchkes all over, including me, and only I know how personal they really are. (Now you know too!)

Jenn26
02-23-2018, 04:40 PM
Jennifer has always been the name for me. Like some others, it was my mom who told me this would have been my name if I were born a girl. I've never strayed from the name.

adam7476
02-23-2018, 07:36 PM
I chose Amy because it's my wife's name. I also like the name Brandy since that is my ex's name and a nice drink.

Christine Jones
02-25-2018, 02:04 PM
Hello

There's mall story to mine. during 2002 I had gone to university s mature student and was living in a small flat in Liverpool. Somehow while searching for something totally unrelated I came across a website called glamourimages which was a small husband and wife run glamour site featuring the wife who was called Christine. While joining that my membership got messed up, it was eventually fixed by the husband who was very friendly, eventually we became friends along with Christine. We would cat quite often and she learned of my crossdressing, she asked me if I had a female name and when I said I hadn't we asked me to call myself Christine, I as very flattered and now I'm Christine :)

JaniceP
03-01-2018, 02:02 PM
I chose JaniceP because, when I was growing up,that was the name of the prettiest, most Feminine Girl in our neighborhood. We were only 6 months apart age wise and I envied every bit cute clothes she wore and she Always wore cute clothes.

She wore slacks at times & a PantyGirdle with stockings all the time.
I was so excited seeing the garter tabs showing through her slacks. This was in the 60's and Feminine pastels were in vogue. I'd seen her pretty lacy Girdle under her skirt at times, cute colors----Yellow, pale Blue etc.
I would go on and purchase my own pretty Girdles (both LLPG & OBG---I LOVE GIRDLES) and stockings and wear them under my slacks, with the hope that a strong woman would see my garter tabs and give me a knowing smile.

CassieBlades
03-01-2018, 09:16 PM
I chose my name because Cassandra sounds elegant and Cassie the shortened form to me sound like she is a down to earth lady. Love that duality in the name. The last because a girl I know that is her last name and it sounds cool

RachelF
03-02-2018, 09:35 PM
Have no idea why I took my names. Rachel was just a name I took for the Forum. Later I decided for Yohana which is the name I use with my wife (I only share my crossdressing with her).

Betsy
03-02-2018, 10:35 PM
Betsy is a variant of my Mother's name and would likely have been my name had I been born a girl. My mother died at a young age. I never got to know the real her. Perhaps Betsy will.

ShirleyN
03-04-2018, 02:34 PM
Not sure if I've already said this but I've had quite a few femme names since I started dressing.
1. Catherine (that was the original one. Why? I just like the sound of the name.
2. "Andrea", came next and actually, hung around for quite a while)
3. "Shirley" (as you all know, is the current one)
5."Marina" is a possible future one that I'm messing around with.

I honestly don't know why it is they keep changing. I think it might be because i get bored of each of these at some stage.

I'm currently trying to decide between "Maureen" and "Marina" Which one do you think sounds better?

Megan Rice
03-06-2018, 09:26 PM
I choose the name Megan for two reasons I had a crush on a girl in school named Megan and I find it simple and attractive the moment when I first put on a wig after make up I looked in the mirror it was a magical moment that name came to me

Nic J
03-07-2018, 06:07 AM
When i joined this group i hadn't given any thought to a name so i just used Nic as a variation of my given name, but wasn't really satisfied with this, so during the ensuing months i have been considering another name. There are plenty of nice names but they all seemed to remind me of someone i know. (I wouldn't want my wife to get the wrong idea and think i had named myself after them.)

Recently on the computer i saw the name Krea (she is a fictional adventuress) and it really appealed to me. I love the sound of it and the fact that i don't know anyone else with that name is a real plus. :)

Olivia Lauren
03-11-2018, 12:37 PM
My name, Olivia Lauren, was chosen in remembrance of a special lady that I met on a long distance flight many years ago. I was lucky enough to be seated next to her on an overnight flight. I can still remember how beautiful she was at first sight. Her style and grace and poise were beyond that of any woman I had ever met. Nervously I introduced myself and in minutes we were talking together as if we had known each other our whole lives. We talked and laughed the night into morning when we landed in London. We exchanged contact information and shared one kiss before parting. It was like I was walking on a cloud the next few days. The smell of her perfume lingered in my mind.

Two days later as we had agreed I tried calling her number. There was no answer on the first two tries but on the third time calling a women’s weeping voice answered. “Olivia!” , I said. “What is wrong?” The voice on the other end was Olivia’s roommate. She explained to me that Olivia had been killed in an automobile crash by a drunk driver.

To say the least I was crushed. I often think of how my life would have been if Olivia Lauren and I would have married.

Thank all of you who read this for letting me remember Olivia and our one special night together.

(((((hugs))))), Olivia

03-14-2018, 11:04 AM
I always dreamed as being Gabby, since I was 12 . When dressed with my mother clothes. I sang a song referencing my self like Gabriela. And my last name bcause of return to the future.

LeatherWendy
03-16-2018, 09:17 AM
I picked my name as Wendy, because I really like it!

michele4848
03-17-2018, 04:52 PM

03-18-2018, 05:02 AM

Hi,

It took me a while to get my name. I started with female versions of my male name, but they never seemed quite right.

Then I thought about other names I liked. Simone and Kylie were my favourites. Unfortunately, Simone was out because that's my wife's middle name. Kylie was out because I'm Australian, and I didn't want to sound like a cliché.

A few months ago I got Michelle! Has a nice sound to it, in my ears. Can be shortened to either "Mich" or "chelle" or "shelly" (as we do in Australia)

Cheers!

I don't really know how I decided on my name Rachael. I guess I just liked it.

Milly1410
03-21-2018, 05:05 AM
I've tried to work on female versions of my male name, but I didn't felt them as mine. At a certain point an old school mate's name came back to my mind, I adopted it and finally I felt it as mine, and now I'm proud to call my female name: Milena

Cheryllynn
03-26-2018, 01:12 AM
I knew a girl named Cheryll in the past, she was really cool and I loved the name. Not sure why I threw "lynn" on the end of it, but I like the way it sounds. :-D And honestly, until a few months ago I never even thought about a female name...

IleneD

This Name Thread section is probably as good a place for me to bring this up. I'd like the usual advice, wisdom and loving understanding I always receive from my Sisters here.

ILENE is a construct of joining the forum discussion board. I needed a femme name when I signed up for an CD.com account. I didn't regularly use a female alias so I quickly seized upon my mom's middle name. Always loved the sound of it anyway. So.... right now, I am proudly "Ilene".

As I go down my crossdressing path into a more transgender realization and transition, I find myself thinking of a more practical name that may be more easily normalized with a transitioned femme existence.

[For the first time, I am going to reveal personal info about me. But I trust my friends and sisters here to not mis-use it.]
My given male first name is Tom. Most of my childhood my parents and family called me Tommy. I cringed at that name when I was a child. I don't know why it irritated me so to be called Tommy, but it did. As an adult I used the more common Tom.
While I love the name Ilene, as I consider the possibility of transitioning to life as a woman (full time), I am also thinking of aligning my femme name with my bio male name and calling myself something akin to who I've been known as all my life by all: TOMMI.
TOMMI would be a version of my real Tommy name, and I could feminize the spelling. I can't help but believe that some day it will make changing my life documents a little easier too. And everyone already knows me as Tommi [Tommy].

Help? Thoughts? I value what you girls have to offer.

PS: Does anyone know HOW to change your Forum board name on this website? I may want to change it there too.

I chose Robin because he was my first gay BF. My intimate girl name is Danie:battingeyelashes:
lle..either works for me butt I prefer Danielle now.

SallySW
04-04-2018, 06:06 AM
I chose Sally largely because I needed a name to get set up here, but the more I use it the more I like it. Don't think I've ever known a Sally so I chose the first name that came to me

I had never taken a Female name until needing one to join this forum.

It just so happened that a few mornings before joining they were joking about creating your Rock Star name as the Name of your first pet and the road you grew up on.

Brutes didn't seem appropriate for this, he was my first dog as a child, so I went to our first female pet growing up and it sounded pretty good.

So now we have Ashley Walker

I do not have a female name and I can say I really don't want one.
It seems that I am the only here that doesn't not have a female name.
Not sure why I don't desire a female name, but I am who I am and a name is just a name.

Jenny, very good...most people think Brogai means "an Irish accent"

I chose Babbs because of signing up I had to choose a name and all the good one's were taken...lol Babbs is a nickname for Barbara, and it's somewhat unique. I like it now and since I've started to go out in public en femme, its nice to have a girls name when asked what your name is

I needed a name for the forum and some email friends and thought of names starting with the same letter as my male name. Didn’t want a feminized version like Davida so settled on Danielle. Last name is from a next door neighbour when I was a teen. Liked her but never had the courage to ask her out.
I suggested the use of a female name to my wife years ago since I thought it would be convenient when out shopping together etc. But she definitely wanted no part of that and I never pursued it again with her.

I was originally going with Debbie when I first thought I needed a name even though I didn't venture into public and nobody knew I dressed. So when I started going out I figured I better come up with a name I'll remember to use so I went with Danicka and for the forum I use a short form of Danni. Chose Danicka because I liked the sound of the name, my real name is Daniel and I also liked Danicka Patrick from Nascar. So it has stuck for many years now.

04-24-2018, 01:50 PM
My name comes from one of my favorite shows growning up. I used to watch the original ‘Dark Shadows’ tv show growing up. There was a character name Victoria Winters. And the show would start every episode with “My name is Victoria Winters,....” and discribe what was happening in the last few episodes. It was totally a soap but had monsters and cool vampires... not the sparkly ones. I feel in love with the name Victoria. I always though it was such a beautiful name and kinda fancy. I generally will go by Vicky since it’s a little shorter and easier to say.

Daisy - I'm a bit of a cow you know. When I was a kid all cows in books or on telly that had names were called either Daisy or Buttercup, with the exception of Ermintrude from the Magic Roundabout but even she had a Daisy in her mouth all the time. Moo moo :)

My name Susan was given to me by my Mom. She wasn't always a pleasant woman as we grew up and used taunt me by saying things like "what's the matter Susan, someone stolen your tights?" If I was upset or angry. What she didn't know was that actually I had discovered the joys of her lingerie drawer and was already at that time dressing in her undies, clothes AND tights when she was out. So instead of making me more upset I saw it as an acceptance of my other self!

Hi!!

I am a Latina - from Latinoamerica, not the US - and I looked for names in both English and Spanish that would feel natural to my female side. One day, I was reading "Valentina" by Guido Crepax and that night I felt that was my name, finally!

I should say that Valentina is a very common name in both Spanish and Italian, and not at all exotic😊

For my last name... my real last name is very aristocratic sounding and carries some historic weight. I wanted to get away from that and I chose Rossi, which is the most stereotypically common last name in Italy (kind of like Smith in English ) and also on Latin America, where there was a lot of Italian immigration.

Also, Rossi means red (in plural in Italian) and my baseline look is with a red-brown wig.

My name is Sara Blue. I have always thought Sara was a pretty and feminine name, Sara is the female name I have given myself. The last name of Blue, when I was trying to find a Sara.xxxx email, nothing worked, I started trying random words and “Blue” went. In a normal family, parents choose a first name but have no control over the last. I accept that. With “Blue” I am not a sad person, nor is that my favorite color, it is simply my chance given last name.

Sashauk
06-04-2018, 05:34 AM
Sasha is a play on my real name - but had I transitioned I think I would have chosen it for real.

Actually my real first name started off as a male one but now it has been hi-jacked as a female one, so I could actually use my real name and most people would assume I'm female. A few years ago I used to post on a music forum using my real name and for a long time the others on the forum thought I was a girl.

Yukihime
07-15-2018, 08:01 AM
I chose my female name after quite some deliberation, both to have a link to my male side as well as a link with my family.

Jennifer shares the first letter with my male name, and my femme surname (which I won't reveal here - it would be too easy to find a link back to me on Facebook!) is actually my mom's maiden surname. My femme name as a result has the same initials as my male side.

As for the link between Jennifer and my current nickname Yukihime, Yukihime is effectively Japanese for "snow princess" or maybe "winter princess", while Jennifer comes from the Middle Cornish Gwynnever (cognate with Welsh Gwenhwyfar), from Proto-Celtic *Windosēbaris (“white spirit”) and can also mean the "fair one". (Credit to wikipedia there!)

Also, and most importantly, I just liked the way the name Jennifer rolled off my tongue. 😁

I never needed a femme name... as I never had any real interactions other than through these boards... since I’m now going to my first actual support group meeting this weekend, I finally settled on Kelly.

I knew a couple Kellys in high school both of which I admired, one I ended up dating for a while after high school. I’m not in contact with either at this point (20+ years later) but the memories of both are good ones, and I always liked the name. My wife and I don’t know any Kellys currently, so that also helps to avoid any confusion ;)

It was also one of two names that my wife “didn’t hate” on my list that I shared with her ... so I figure if she ever wants to know what I settled on at least it will be something she was ok with.

When I was in college, I dated a very beautiful and very extroverted woman named Monica
She was a ball of energy and inevitably grew tired of her introverted boyfriend. I knew from the start that it couldn't last but would be a fun ride, and it was. My name is a bit of a tribute to her spirit, which I try to emulate to the best of my ability.

Felicia M
07-23-2018, 09:20 AM
When I started dressing again I began to contemplate a name that would "fit" me and something I would keep. It took a long time and I flirted with other names here and there but kept coming back to Felicia. The name conjures for me a few things. To me she is beautiful, flirty, sexy and fun but when I ran into this from 'urban dictionary' I swooned.

A constant source of comfort and my complete focus of attention. Meticulously sculpted in the visage of an angel. Such piercing and bright eyes that hide a troubled past, an uncertain present and a hopeful future. Expressions highlighted with accents of living color. A truly rare and selfless mind. A generous personality and a genuinely pleasant disposition. Someone so perfectly beautiful, inside and out, just full of love and life. A presence that could bring a smile to the most downtrodden and a heart so pure that it could cheerfully warm any of us even at our most bitter and jaded moments. Captivating. A smile that melts ice. Keeper of my heart. My Felicia.

I used to just go by "Randi" - but after a lot of evolving with this, my wife and I both decided "Stephanie" was better for my alter-ego. Simply started with a conversation about six years ago when she asked me, if I had been born a girl, what would I have wanted my name to be? Knew some very pretty Stephanie's through the years and always liked the name, so, that's where the "newer" moniker came from.

I friend of mine (who doesn't know, i dress) liked to tease me, and joked that she and her friends were gonna tie me up and dress me as a girl, do my make up, etc. She then struggled to think of a girl name to call me (my name has no real female equivalent) but after a brief ponder decided to call me Charlotte.
It wasn't something she kept up for long but it kind of stuck with me, especially since..well, you know. :daydreaming:

If only she knew. :heehee:

When I came to this site, I immeditely thought of that name and use it ever since when doing anything online en femme related.

I am more attached to it but I guess I still dont know if it really fits me but I struggle to think of anything else.

Nicole comes to mind but I don't feel lile it roles off the tougue the same way.

It is also close to my real name of Fred and make it easy for me to remember. Hi girls. I’ve had a couple but Katrina/Kat is here to stay. My wife and I have a little inside joke where we say things or each other are “like a cat” and it’s kind of an uber feminine performance of that line. When I questioned the names I had chosen for myself, I thought if I’m like a cat, why not just be a Kat. Coming out to my wife was such a major positive milestone in my life, that I consider Katrina’s birthday to be that day... so I thought it fitting that one of our feminine little games would inspire my name. I also wanted something with the same first letter as my real name, so that I could get cards issued with just my first initial.

I never picked a female name until relatively recently. I looked on the Social Security Administration's web site and found lists of the most common names by birth year. Looking up my male first name, I then found the corresponding female name (either by rank or by percentage, I forget which). Since most people know me by the diminutive form of my male name, I decided to adopt the diminutive form of the female name. Thus Becky was born.

I think I replied to this thread when I first joined here in 2012, so I hope this won't be too monotonous for anyone. I picked the name of the hot female star of Futurama. I didn't know initially that her name is spelled Leela, but I prefer my spelling anyway. Leela is a unique character with good looks and nice voice, i.e. the voice of the woman who starred on Married with Children, Katey Sagal. I prefer frilly, girly dresses or skirts, whereas Leela usually wears slacks. Here's a pic: https://dienachtderlebendentexte.files.wordpress.com/2014/06/futurama-7-08.jpg

Hi.

I figured this would be a good spot for my first post.

It seems like a lot of folks picked names because of girls/women they liked. I did too, I was too scared to ask her out though (teenage time, am I right?) but I also chose it because Emily Dickinson is my favorite poet.

It means Industrious and Striving so I'm also hoping it helps me to be better at both of those things.

I like the simplicity of it and also how it sounds strong and feminine at the same time to me. Also when I looked at the meaning and origin online ("complete" or "whole") I completely agreed and decided to keep it. :D

I was in the first volume but I thought I would retell the tale.
As I was going to school I was the class runt. I became the target of much mischief. I was frequently called Leslie.

When I first needed a name I naturally used Leslie. I later learned that if I had been female at birth I would have been Emma or Leslie.
When I signed on here I added Mary, the name of my last (now deceased) girlfriend.
My last name is a statement of the fact I am shy. In public I play the extrovert so that I can control the conversation to keep everyone away from the real shy me.
Of further interest is that my father remarried and had a daughter who he named Leslie.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it (for know).

Been married 5 years but living with my wife for 15 years. She is a huge Buffy the Vampire series fan so I bought her all of the seasons many years ago. I watched them all with her and she knew I was into cross dressing after a couple of years of being together so she started calling me Drewcilla since that is the name of a vampire on the show and I go by Drew. One day when I finally go out dressed up I will probably use a different name but until then I like Drewcilla.

I'm new to this, and don't really refer to myself by a female name, but I wanted to make one up for the forum. I envy the gurls who have masculine names that have an obvious feminine equivalent (like Stephen -> Stephanie, or Michael -> Michelle). I googled my actual name (David) a little, but the only thing I found as a feminine version was "Davina", which I didn't like and no one has ever heard of. But I liked the name Darci, and it starts with the same first 2 letters, so I went with it (at least for now).

"Davida" is a female name you hear in Israel and Jewish communities .

I chose my female name after seeing a picture of a girl twenty years ago in a user forum on AOL. She had brown hair, beautiful eyes and was very attractive.

Well my name really was about my appearance and the way it flowed together. Something that seems "legit" and like an actual girls name. I was using the name gwen_lovsit on Yahoo but seeing as how it was more of just a sign in style name I looked at myself and said who do you look like and just like that Maggy Gweneth Lyn was born. Sounds cute and love the way flows..I think it matches me pretty good.

I have always liked the name Ashley. But then when I looked up the meaning of the name, did not appeal to me. so I added Lynne to the end of my name to make it more unique. Then I added a middle name of Rose as I love roses and the color of pink. My last name I chose from the lady who suggested that I crossdress.
My name became Ashlynne Rose Holm

I loved it!

I chose my name somewhat randomly a couple years back, before I did my first makeover with a couple of CD friends. I wanted an ethnic sounding name to match my looks. Not sure if I want to keep this name but so far I like it.

In the American old west the term Jaded woman might be applied to a 'working' woman. To me Jade is a precious to semi-precious stone. I have even made some necklaces out of neftrite Jade from Alaska. Therefore I think it is a precious and lovely name.

Asew
11-30-2018, 04:39 PM
When I was a teenager I formed Asew for my video game characters based on a girl I liked, but made it not obviously girly so if anyone I knew saw it they wouldn't immediately think it was a girl's name.

Well it is weird using Asew at the girls night out, apparently it is very confusing (as just like originally intended). I was watching the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (on Netflix) with close captioning and her boyfriend called her a 'Brina which is an anagram of my given name and I loved it. But since I don't want the confusion like Asew, I think Sabrina is the way to go. Going to give it some more time before a final decision.

I used to use the name Marlene J (story in an older post- way back!) - but I have decided to move to a new name that is more aligned with my old life's nomenclature. I decided to try to keep my signature and initials the same as much as I could - using the letters T J - unfortunately the femme version of my name would be "Thomasina" (YUCK!) so it had to go! I did some searching and found no real acceptable alternatives starting with Th... Then I came across
a variation of a name from ancient mythology - the Greek Goddess of wisdom - Athena - which I have adapted to just Thena and for my middle name I chose another Goddess - this time Roman - Juno. So I am Thena Juno H*****,(I like how on social media sites my name can be shown as @Thena!) but to keep things simple on this site I just use Tina June.

as far as i remember, the name Stephanie represent for me the quintessence of feminity. all the Stephanie i met in my life was feminine to the tips of their nails. (a french expression jusqu'au bout des ongles) This is why i choose this name. the letter C-V are simply the initial of the two familiy name.

I went through a couple names when I was younger, but they never really felt quite right, and at one point I didn't even have a name I used for this, but that was inconvenient. My actual name is Aaron, and I do really like it, so I just went with Erin, which is pretty much functionally identical, just feminine.

Ashley for me. Just felt right and I've never oscillated between names. I could see myself changing the spelling to Ashleigh at some point (just seems more graceful), other than that I'm sure it's the right name.

12-10-2018, 01:34 PM
So I'm Abigail or Abbie. Why? Well I have no clue. 3 years ago I legallt changed my male name. I dropped my family name, my middle name (same as my father) and most of my first name. I became Chris Drake. That preserved my initials but the Drake part was otherwise a bolt out of the blue.
Now I'm crossdressing more I wanted something to fit the Drake, I suppose. Abigail works nicely. Plus it's a little steampunky too. Now, whether I'll ever have the figure to pull off a steampunk corsetted bustle dress is another question and one my wife like to contend with but who knows.
Greetings from Britain,
Abbie.

Hi, I started as Amandasue a name given to be by my master at the time. Being obedient I kept it but never felt comfortable with it as I felt it wasn't me, so a few years ago I changed to Donna Bel after a very good female friend, now I feel more feminine.

I went with Bree, I liked the sound of it and it's far different from my birth name so it provides a sense of distance? Though I'm still not sure who I am really..As just Bree was taken here (which is why I added _fun, though maybe should have just used numbers, now everyone will think I'm just here for 'fun' which isn't the case), I guess it's not so odd a name :D

Brenda Summers

My first name Brenda is a partial of my given name. It keeps me reminded of where I evolved from but also of my exciting future that I am working towards. I have a middle name of Shelly mostly because I have always liked the name but also is partially related to my last name. So my last name is from that I have always and still do live in California coastal communities and Summers have always been my favorite time of year. Hence,Brenda Shelly Summers was born. I go mostly by Brenda or Brenda Summers. When my wife wants my full attention I will get the full BRENDA SHELLY SUMMERS.lol.

Did not pick a name for many years, never even tried. Last year I decided a fake male name on her was just silly, so I tried. All felt strange, so read on here about some and decided first letter should match my birth name. Shortly after a quote from a song popped into my head "Maria, you've got to see her..." (Would love people to see her, one day maybe)

I adopted Lucy Darlene from three sources. My late wife (who tolerated but didn't like my CD'ing) once jokingly called me Lucy, which happened to be the name of a teacher I admired (for other reasons). So that's two sources for one name. Darlene is a girl's name I'd always liked since I was a kid, but didn't add to my persona until a few years ago.

Susan Elizabeth are my first and middle femme names. I might have chosen them had I been born female. Why SusanSpencer? That's a longtime CBS News correspondent who I've long admired for her on-air and award winning work over the years. Susan's bio doesn't list her age but she's a proud wife, mother and "good neighbor." I don't know of more admirable traits. I admire her and admit to more than a little envy :). I'm happy to be here.

I've never chose a name but had a girlfriend who I suspect knew I liked lingerie but never went past that. Her daughters name was Karen and too many times she would call me Karen by mistake or maybe not. But because of that I never liked the name Karen, I think I would like Holly or Trish but haven't really been that far in my dressing to pick a female name. Who knows maybe someday
