I just like the name i guess. And i think it fit with my personality too.

Like a lot of CDers I chose a name that was just a little "over the top". I originally wanted to go with Sabrina, but my wife thought I should do something a little less dramatic and suggested Savannah. I've always thought that choosing a name for yourself is a little odd. When we are born, a name is given to us and we grow into it. For that reason I decided to keep the name she gave me. I went simply with "Vee" for a last name because my real last name is fantastic for a woman. I just don't have the guts to reveal it, and if I did, it would sound "over the top"!

This is a story of many names.
At first, there was Tatiana Stivali, no specific reason other than my love for Italian high-heeled boots and the name Tatiana.
Then, when I met my first CD group in S?o Paulo, and I forgot why, but changed my name to Veronica Heels (I know, I know).
After that, because of a very special girlfriend, she made me change my name to Samantha Pink (because of Sex & the city and, well, she loved the colour pink).
Then here in Canada, I decided to really give some thought about it and went back to the first time I realized that I not only liked pretty girls, but I also wanted to BE one (well, at least sometimes). And then I remembered Giovanna, an exuberant, beautiful classmate at my English classes when I was a young teenager. She was around 20, absolutely stunning and always, always in high heels - mainly boots, makeup, big earrings... I was always in awe. And she got a liking to that small boy and treated me as one of her best friends (while I was only trying to stop drolling over her).
So, that's it. Giovanna it is!

Johanna from my guy name John and Sophia from my my mom's middle name which she hated but I think rolls nicely, certainly better than the Emma she claimed.

BethInTights
08-13-2021, 04:26 PM
I came up with Beth when I joined a 3D based adult oriented game years ago.
Recently I learned of fetlife and thought it might be a good place for me to meet local people with an interest in crossdressing in the hopes of finding someone to teach me how to handle wigs and styling and perhaps teach my wife how to do my makeup as my hands shake too much to do it myself.
Unfortunately nobody I have met thus far actually seems interested in meetings friends, only sex partners so it is not serving my needs.
In any event while trying to come up with a user name on fetlife I came up with Beth In Tights which tied my old name in with my love of wearing womens clothing and it just felt right.

My name came about because , my oldest daughter and I started getting along and two of her friends said we should go shopping with me dressed. My daughter 18, her friends 18 and 19. my 38 girl jeans short heels stuffed bra, wig make-up. Many first on this day, first time out not about having sex, first time out with young girls, first time daylight shopping dressed, The first place we went my daughter kept calling me DAD, and her friends called me MR."D". So when got out of the place we needed some thing to call me by, one of them came up with Donna, and the is what it has been ever sense. The Lynn was added by a girl friend at latter date.

I chose Brooke because I love spending time in the mountains and "Brooke" seemed like a way to incorporate that vibe into a feminine name. Still working on my middle name though.

I found it difficult to pick a name as I had a few ideas and didn't want to pick something only to end up changing it after I'd committed to it.

After several months of toying with different names, including female variations of my male name, I kept coming back to Kelly as it just felt more me.

My mother wanted a girl, Stefania it was her choice..Steph in English.

AshleyClaireSnider
09-02-2021, 09:45 PM
Ashley and Claire share first letters with my real first and middle names. "Ashley" felt like a good change, while still being close and vaguely androgynous. I've just always like the name Claire. I later added a last name just to complete the identity. I believe it was inspired by a girl who I once worked with.

Larissa Cassandra
09-04-2021, 02:29 AM
There was a young woman I saw on a TV show a few years ago named Larissa. I'd never heard that name before, but it just sounded so pretty that when it came time to choose a female name for myself, it was the natural choice. I always liked Cassandra and thought it was sexy. After "discovering" Larissa, though, Cassandra sounded better as a second name. Up till recently I didn't know that Cassandra was in mythology a woman who could predict the future but no one believed her! I certainly don't have that power, but still love the name!

Ahhh, what?s in a name? I like the name Sienna, it?s not super common and a bit fun.

Izzy93
09-06-2021, 11:55 PM
I chose for the name Izzy, because I like it. When I put a different wig on, my female form has a different name. But one of my favorite wigs have I called Izzy. But, if I was born as a girl, my mother would've called me Daphne or Daisy. Izzy however sounds better to me, because I think it's a cute name for a woman.

I saw "Camille" in a book and liked it because it is not incredibly common, I didn't know anyone with that name, it's very pretty and feminine sounding to me, and has a double-letter. I love names with double-letters.

My full femme name I chose is Camille Anne Green. "Anne" I find pretty and also has a double-letter. "Green" was for Rachel Green on the show FRIENDS, who is beautiful and always in fashion.

Hello Candy Samantha. Welcome to the forums.
The value of all the letters in my name is 162. Yours is 80.
I tried for a sequence of 5 letters, 4 letters, 3 letters but I erred with my first name. I need to drop of the final 'e'.
Oh well, life goes on.

Lunamoon

Hi all, my first post in here! Although (at 48) I have known for years that I'm very femme, I have only just come out to my wife. She's been 100% supportive, for which I count my blessings.
As for a name, Luna is my cats name, lol, but I am drawn to "Dee" as it is the same initial as my given name.

Hello All, New to well, everything sort of. My name is Denise Allen, 53

Leslie Mary S
09-17-2021, 03:46 PM
Hi Lunamoon. Please fill out an introduction. My sister, all her 78 year life has gone by the nickname "Dee" Her real first name is Mercedes, the automobile but she got it from her grandmother whose name was two different cars. Mercedes and Cooper. I almost chose Mercedes Cooper as my name. Maybe Mercedes Reo Cooper.

Marissa Q
09-23-2021, 06:23 PM
I've seen so many lovely names in this thread (after spending waaaaaaay too much time reading the pages therein!). They're so interesting and nuanced much of the time.
But I do love Marissa very much. I've no foundational reason why I selected the name... It literally popped into my head some time ago and stuck.
However, I do think I was subconsciously driven to select something that was easily pronounced without modification in several LatinX languages. Ma-riss-uh can quickly become Ma-rees-uh with the simple roll of an R. :heehee:

However, because of the above, I often do consider dropping a single "s" from my name.
(sigh) First-world girl problems.

WillowHanna

I have also really liked the name Willow being a Buffy fan.

just a cute bartender I knew in the old days named Audrey. It's got a kind of 'old fashioned ring to it' like Audrey Meadows on the old Jackie Gleason show. It's not a popular name these days, but it mean 'noble strength'

Chloe from Colorado

My name cam about the first time I fully dressed with wig, make up and everything. My wife helped me with all of it and when she looked at me, she decided I looked like a Chloe. Because she came up with it, it means a lot to me!

When I first began writing I chose Camilla Robeson as a pen name, an utter flight of fancy with no conscious meaning or genesis. When I joined here it was simpler to use that name than to create another. As my work evolved from the early stuff I killed that account and started using Chloe Vargus, another out-of-the-blue. However, when Chloe writes about crossdressing, the heroine frequently thinks of herself as Allison or Allie. So Camilla or Chloe or Allie works just fine. I think of all of them as the girl in the mirror.

Mine is the name of a friends girlfriend he dated many years ago. I have adopted her complete full, middle and last name and DOB online. When a search was done of my name on FB she was right above my name, if she only knew who i was if she were to see me.

Rachael Fernandez
11-08-2021, 07:09 PM
I didn't know what I should call myself and when I started to go through girls names I discovered Rachael (not Rachel). The Rachael I knew was a friend of my younger sister at high school and she was a lovely girl. I also thought it a lovely name and I have been known as Rachael for over 20 years to my CD friends.

Charlotte Sparkle

My favourite female name is Charlotte and as I love anything sparkly I combined Charlotte with Sparkle. I liked the resultant name so went with that.

Wendy-Lyn
11-16-2021, 06:10 PM
I didn't have a female name for years, until I bought a computer in my early 30s and got into gaming.

I liked to play as a feminine character, and started using the name 'Wendy' as, inside, I feel a lot like a
'Wendy', if you know what I mean (you probably do).

After that, I just kept it - modified occasionally for different fora and games.

When I went to join-up here, 'Wendy' was in use, and my alternative version, 'Wenda', wasn't recognised
by the forum software, so I added a middle name, Lynette, and then hyphenated them into 'Wendy-Lyn.

I like it, it seems to suit me, and as it's been my female name for so long it feels as real to me
as my male name.

Like a favourite dress, it just 'feels right'.

Josephine_A
11-21-2021, 12:42 AM
I chose my name on a whim, I remember the first time I fully dressed after rediscovering the desire a few years ago. I was in stockings, panties, high heels, bra, dress and wig I looked at myself and started filming myself on my phone and I just said “my name is Josephine” as an intro without hesitation. Upon reflection there was a girl named Josephine I had a crush on in high school but had not thought of her in over 25 years before that day when Josephine was born. Now when I dress I fully become Josephine and actually feel and speak differently. I love the transformation and I feel like it comes from somewhere deep inside just as my femme name bubbled up from my subconscious unrehearsed and without thinking. It feels natural.

Can't quite remember how I chose my name, probably as it sounds a bit better than Butch! :D

For me I always had a thing for Lindsay Lohan when I was younger and that I love pantyhose

Reyna Roland
12-19-2021, 10:43 PM
"Reyna", is Queen in Spanish, and "Roland" because I love music related things, and it just sounded fierce when put together! Oh boy and does she ever exist now, that girl has been very out since the pandemic started, and shes not trying to stay in the "closet" these days!!! The struggle I tell ya!

nancy58
12-21-2021, 08:32 PM
When I was first wrestling with my crossdressing urge, at some point -- maybe here -- I needed to provide a name. I hadn't considered what a female me would be called, and I was still very judgmental of men who put on women's clothes, especially myself. The phrase "Nancy boy" came to mind, and here I am. At the local transgender support group, I used "Nancy" for my membership and shortly realized that I should have chosen something that sounds like my given male name, maybe "Ruth", because someone in the room said "Nancy" to get my attention, and it didn't work. I have evolved a lot since then, and now I'm kind of fond of "Nancy". I like who I am, and I just need to spend more time in social situations where I can get used to it.

Wendy was the name of my first ever girlfriend, she almost always wore a short skirt and tan pantyhose. I'll never forget her.

Girly bride

I didn't know what I should call myself and when I started to go through girls names I discovered Jaismine

VeronicaB
01-04-2022, 10:21 AM
I chose my name because I wanted it to be different from most others and I wanted it to be a mature woman's name. I didn't want a young girls name. Veronica seemed the best of the options although Erica was a close second. I've only just started to reveal my feminine side to my wife so the name hasn't come out yet so it could change as and when I do actually reveal Veronica to her, especially as she already knows a Veronica who by coincidence has our surname.

Arindam
01-07-2022, 07:27 PM
'Arindam' is of Sanskrit origin, and it is used mainly in the eastern part of India among the Bengali and the Assamese. Its meaning is 'Destroyer of Enemies'. Also, and more positively, the name conveys the ability to be happy.

When I'm posting in trading/investment forums, the first meaning is correct. Trading is warfare. You and a counter-party are trying to pick each other's pockets. In this forum, I'd incline toward the second, gentler meaning of someone who tends to see that the glass is half full and that things can be made to work out for the better.

Jolene is what I would say my real name but extended a little.

Never really thought of giving myself a female name. But Stephanie is a name I like from one of my favourite sitcoms, Full House. Had a crush on her.

Melanie Sykes
01-13-2022, 06:03 AM
I know my name is the same as that of a famous British TV presenter and model, but that - incredible as it sounds - is pure coincidence. Back in 2011 I needed a female name to use for this site. When I was in college I had very much admired a girl called Melanie who was really pretty and oh so feminine with her fine blonde ringlets - and I love the softness of the name. And a few years later in life I had very much admired a woman I worked with who was tall, confident, beautiful and sexy, whose surname was Sykes. So I combined the two names to create my moniker (pun brazenly intended) for this site.

It was several years later during a visit to my grandmother's that I saw a newspaper lying on the coffee table with the words "MELANIE SYKES" in huge letters on the front. I nearly fell off my chair!! Talk about a shock! That was how I learned of my famous namesake, who is a few years older than I am.

My parents told me when I was young that if I'd been born a girl, my name would have been Claire. I like the name, but don't really see myself as a Claire. The name I'd like if I were a real girl would be Rebecca.

britskye

I've long thought my name as a woman would be Brittany, so that part was easy. The last name i just tried to find something that sounded good without sounding like a porn star lol.

Alice in Wonderland is my favorite movie. Crossdressing is like entering the wonderland, it's amazing and funny and a little scary sometimes. So, I'm Alice.

Mine is an extended version of part of my male name, plus a name I've always loved. Together, I think they sound great and very feminine. It did take me a long time to come up with this, had thought about lots of names I liked, but this is original, and feels right!

BrendaD
01-22-2022, 09:26 PM
I wanted to match my initials so I looked on girls names sites and thought Brenda seemed perfect for me. Age appropriate (I?m in my 50?s) and just sounds right for a mature woman. To me, anyway.

Sometimes time changes things. My first name was one my fellow classmate/bullies used on me all the time. I now except it and use it with pride, without the need of the rainbow colors. It is my name, I earned it over a span of 70 years, even before I stopped answering to Jr.

Leahjh
01-30-2022, 01:21 AM
Mine was kind of a silly choice, but I basically looked up common names from the year I was born and picked one that didn't really have any association with anyone I knew (I was like 16 at the time- 40 now- I've modified it slightly but it's basically been Leah ever since)

Leslie Mary S
01-30-2022, 04:44 AM
Leah, when I first read your name I split it differently. I though phonetically it was "Lee-High" Then after reading your post I looked again saw that it is Leah JH. Funny how the eyes ad mind work. Grins

SexyKerri
02-05-2022, 06:51 AM
My name has evolved over the years. Ages approx 15-20 I was Kenni. First wife who accepted me dressing occasionally and did my makeup a couple times started calling my Bobbie (from my middle name). In my late 20s I chose Kerri. A slight modification of my first name but enough to differentiate between my male side and femme side. I love my name now and see Kerri as not only me but a better me.

I have been very happy with my name right when I selected it back about 2008. Now I think I might pick up a new nick name "The Old Hag", Just kidding. But I an thinking that I will discontinue using the "Mary" part of my name on my stationary and business cards.

Fiona Manchmal
02-06-2022, 07:16 AM
Why Fiona? Same reason so many others here have their names: if I'd been born a girl I'd have been Fiona 24x7 from the start. There are times, these days, when I'm in the mood to be simply 'Fi'.

Why Manchmal? Well, it's not English....

Hi all
First Time posting so straight to it. I couldn?t use the feminised form of my male name as it?s taken. Instead, I thought of a girl from school. She was pretty enough but the main thing is she was sweet too. I didn?t give much more thought after that. We get stuck with our ?real? names so why should this be any different. (I have a ridiculous drag name too but it?s not very realistic. :))

My male name Dan/Daniel could easily be Danielle wasn't exactly what I wanted. My friends always blame everything on me saying Dan did it! So, I finally just told them just say DeeDee meaning Dan did it! I like the sound of it so it shall stay!

Hello all! My first post.

I took my name from the most beautiful female I have ever laid eyes on. I deeply wish I was a female and looked as gorgeous as her. In fact I wish I looked just like her. So young and beautiful she is. She is my inspiration when I transition to female. I pay tribute to her flawless beauty by taking her name. My favorite piece of jewelry is the necklace that bears our name in cursive writing like the one made popular by Sex in the City. I have a gold one and a silver one to go with whatever outfit I wear.

Zuzana
02-17-2022, 05:26 PM
I actualy used name Alex online in the past, which felt like me at that time. I wanted something gender-neutral at that time. But it changed since then and Alex of course is mostly male name so it was not an option. It took me some time to choose girls name. I liked more of them. I didn't want something too fancy and noble sounding. I just felt it would not fit my personality. When I was choosing it, I just was trying to make it match my personality and style. It was just feeling. So I have chosen name Zuzana, which is Czech version of Susan or Shoshana. It is quite common name. I like also like other versions of this name (Zuzka, Zuzi, Zuzanka etc.), which are commonly used in my country. I hope it does not sound too weird for foreighners.

I wasn't thinking about a feminine name before reading this but I think I have decided on one. AmeeJo. It's a take from my username that has some significance to me and my life and I think it's kind of a fun name.

Catinka was my first real crush from early teenage years. She was so beatufulI, but I never took the courage to ask her. Many years later when i decided that I needed a female name, this was the first name that came to my head.

Mary Loo

I am adding to my post count, but had to add my response to this thread. I had never given my activities or fem side a name nor given it any thought until reading this forum, but with a number of people mentioning first crushes, I immediately went with the name Mary, plus I didn’t see a lot on here using that name. I think it is a pretty and feminine name that I have always liked, but my first super strong crush in middle school was a girl named Mary. We actually then went to the same High School and even same college. I am pretty confident she knew how much I adored her if for any reason other than all of the tongue tied and stupid things I said to her over the years, but our original middle school friendship was wonderful to me.

It seemed like everyone had middle names here, too, and I recently met someone named Mary Lou and even though there is no association there, I just liked the ring to it. I went ahead and changed the u to another o, just for a splash am more feminine.

Sandrajiggle
03-13-2022, 06:17 AM
Over the years I have given myself girls names based on real people either from school in my earlier days or television personality.
The internet limited names to those not already taken.
There's not many GG with the surname Jiggle!
My real girl name for filling out forms is Sandra Roberts.
It's derived from my real name. Feels more genuine that way.

Although critics may say that I chose to be a girl so I can choose a name.

At last ten posts.. looking forward to finding the rest of this amazing resource.

My name came out when we were having a party at our house. I became Alexis & I felt it to be very fitting. Once in a while I am known as Princess Alexis. Yes I can be very high maintenance. If I am allowed to go out en femme it's at least a 2 hour process. Shower, shave, start primping, decide on clothes, make up, bra, panties, & so on & so forth. My wife always gives me a hard time when I start getting ready.

My choice was between two names. Had I been born female, I would have been named Penelope (Penny) and Stephanie is close to my guy name. I presented both names to my best friend, a GG. She chose Stephanie. She wants Sam and Steph to have a girls night. As for the last name, we have a place at a lake and it's my happy place. Since I'm happy when I dress, I chose Lake.

Hi,

I?m Jess. Well, my name is what I would have been had I be a female, one of two names, Penelope, or Jessica, as I was told. It?s really a bit funny that my post is following StephanieLake who also mentioned she would have been a Penelope. I chose Jess for two reasons, actually three.. First, I do not like Penelope and so glad I wasn?t name so.. Second, I like Jess, it?s a cool name, and finally, Jess is really close to my current male name. Actually like Jess better than that name. Anyway, really like Jess and sometimes I almost tell people that my name is Jess when I?m in male mode?. Thanks,

The female name I had chosen for myself was a name I had never heard before (I've seen it a few times since) and thought it was really pretty, and came from a strong woman. It's really personal for me so I don't know if I'm ready yet to share it. My middle female name is Diana, which is what I would have been named had I been born genetically female. I really hate my male name. It makes me cringe every time I hear it. I wish I had a gender-neutral legal name I could use all the time, but I don't really want to change it.

I hadn't really thought of a femme name for myself. That is till I made my first online purchase. Needed a name to fill in the box.
My male name is Jason and my whole life friends called me Jay. So I thought I have green eyes I will call her Jade. Then when I came to this forum Jade was unavailable. So I tried Lady Jade but that too was taken. But no one has a 1 in their name. So 1LadyJade was born.

Mine was pretty easy. My birth name is Joseph but from birth it seems I got the nickname Jody. So I just use the female spelling of the name. I also considered Jasmine - I've always liked that one too.

Growing up there was a girl in school that had an incredible wardrobe. I would look forward to see what she would wear to school each day - a dress, short skirt/ sweater, or low rise jeans. I realized I did not want to date her as much as dress like her! Ever since, I have gone with Denise Parker.

I am on my third female name.

My first was Jenny Lee, many years ago. I think I came up with it from a Jan & Dean song (which was an old song when I used the name, I am not that old). And for a very brief period I used a feminine version of my male name, but I never cared for that. I read somewhere that keeping your initials the same is good, I went and searched for a female name that I felt fit me that started with B. Lots of good names there, but I felt Brenda was perfect. Don’t know why it is seemed perfect, but I am sticking with it.

I go by Roxie. I added Christine to make it a complete name. Technically it would be Roxanne Christine, but I like to shorten it to Roxie. It is really a combination of things. Roxie is a name I used in a womanless beauty revue in high school. It was a fundraiser for the sports booster club, and the football coach made all the football team participate. I was Foxy Roxie. Christine is a dear friend who was into BDSM and opened my eyes and helped me push my limits and embrace more than just vanilla life. Combined with my last name my initials are the same also. I've only recently taken dressing up again. Technically I've been doing it my whole life but just now really wanting to dress up and BE feminine.

My parents told me when I was very young that they had two names queued up, one for a boy and one for a girl, hence Daphne. I've only known one other Daphne over the course of my life, a relative, and she is very much an extrovert---the opposite of me.

Hi, all.
Growing up, I was good friends with a GG whose name resembled mine, we even had almost the same birthday... a good friend for a shy and cripplingly awkward boy. She was the model I used for a transformation-to-female chapter in a "novel" I wrote. We have lost contact over the years, but I have fond memories of her.
Thus, Jeffrey becomes Jenny.

My Female name is Patty. It stems from my favorite older sister calling me Patty-Boy. Maybe she knew something back then. It wasn't as a tease; it was her term of endearment for me, and it continued way into adulthood. Since I'm a Patrick, Patty sounds pretty good to me.

I?ve always liked the name Veronica as it was my late Grandmothers name.
She also abbreviated it to ?Vena? instead of the more usual Vera.

I decided not to go with it as my femme name as my younger sister?s middle name is also Veronica.
I went with Sophie as I like the name and I don?t know anyone with same name.

There is a UK Newsreader, Sophie Raworth whose dress sense & style I admire a lot.
I might have been thinking of her.

Diane is what she introduced herself to me as by letting the thought "transforming Dean into Diane" slip into my mind. Hi

This thread is for letting everyone know the origins of your female name.

After looking at names and a few options. I finally decided Shelly was the right name for me. My wife chose this name. Turquoise was always a color I loved on her. We were out one day shopping for her I picked out thigh high boots with 5 in heels. You want those you can wear them. This single off hand comment woke my old desires. She saw it. She bought me Turquoise nail polish. Started calling me Turquoise a week later. Not all the time just in context when discussing crossdressing.

At a work meeting I was presenting and whoever typed the agenda wrote my name as Allison (probably autocorrect). We has a good laugh and I told the group Allison is the name I go by when I do drag shows. That got a good laugh from the group.
Fast forward a few years and I begin my journey I figured Allison was a perfect name, because it is close to my legal first name and that will make it easier to respond when people use it. Plus I think the shortened version Allie is cute too.

Claire M
01-05-2023, 08:47 AM
My maternal great-grandmother's name was Clara, a common French Canadian name in the 1870s. I chose Claire as a more modern and more feminine version to honor Clara. It means "clear" or "luminous".

My choice came from a girl I knew in High School. She had an amazing eye for fashion (which I still do not have) and I was always enamored with her beauty and style. Crush? Maybe, but she had a boyfriend and I never felt it was right to be anything more than friends.

When the internet was invented, my world as a crossdresser opened up from cloistered, rushed, frantic moments where I could quickly try on clothes, to an accepting community where I discovered and chatted with others like me. I had to have a name to go by when signing in all of those websites/forums. I dabbled with a few options (Brianna, Cindee, Bree) but when I thought about Brandy, it just clicked for me. Have a lovely relative who is Polly Bea and just liked the musical nature of that so completed my name a Brandy Bea.

Nicola is a very pretty name. I just had to put in my five cents (Nickel) worth. GRIN It is also the name of a Japanese fashion magazine and a river in Canada.
Why I looked it up is because I thought of the big aluminum company Alcola and wondered if there was also a Nicola Company.

I've had three girl names over the years.

The first one I actually got when I was 10: After school every day I'd go to the nearby house where friends of my mother lived with their three teenage kids. The youngest was a ggirl who was really into being a majorette. That'd been going on for a few years, and her mother had opened the house and yard for groups of girls to come and practice routines. There was a big box in the garage that held dozens of pairs of gogo boots (which the majorettes all wore) -- vinyl, 2 1/2 inch heel, several colors in many sizes. The pull of those boots was too much for me to resist. I'd make sure nobody'd seen me go into the garage, and then in the dark try on the boots, and after a while I started walking around in them -- my first time in heels of any kind! But after a few weeks of this bliss, I stood up from zipping the boots I was wearing and saw a neighbor boy standing outside, peering through the window. As soon as I made eye contact with him he ran away. I removed the boots as fast as I could and spent the next 12 hours terrified that he'd go to the boys who flung homophobic slurs at me daily and tell them what he'd seen. But he didn't. Instead, he waited until he found himself near me but out of earshot of others, when he whispered "Rachel" at me. I'm pretty sure he derived it from my birth name, Richard. This went on for a year, then stopped. (Years later I learned he'd come out as gay. He passed away a few years ago, so I'll never be able to ask him about that moment when he saw me.) But it was my first choice when I started dressing fully years later -- certainly way better than the name my parents had told me they'd chosen for me if I'd been AFAB, Linda. No offense to any Lindas, but I'm not one of you!

So Rachel I was for a few years. Then came a purge and a few years of drab before I (inevitably) started dolling up again. I adopted a whole new look: black hair where Rachel had been blonde, goth makeup, and black leather outfits instead of Rachel's sexy streetwear. Also, I couldn't get into my Rachel accounts online because I'd tossed the credentials in the earlier purge. So I had to have a new, more exotic name. I've always loved the sound of the name Tristan, so I became Trista and used Rachel as my middle name, adding the surname "Flowers" which is a translation of part of my mother's maiden name.

Another purge, another hiatus (this one longer), and then ... I simply came out before even fully dressing en femme. I came out as nonbinary/genderqueer/genderfluid and added a lot of femme elements to my daily look, aiming to be a complete androgyne: eye makeup, platinum hair (my own!), clothes from my boy wardrobe that read as femme -- and there are a lot: lace, satin, velvet, leather, tight, shiny. I'm taking my time before I transform myself fully, slowly acquiring shapewear and a new femme wardrobe. I've also been waiting for the right opportunity to doll up fully, but I just learned that a bunch of queer/trans friends are organizing a big dance party in about a month, so that will be my coming out party. And this time I'm just using my own name -- not my birth name, which was also my father's and thus unacceptable -- but what everyone's called me my whole life and what I've legally adopted as my first name, spelled differently depending on context: Rick as a boy, Ricck as androgyne, and Ricci as a girl.

Anne Sophie
03-23-2023, 08:34 AM
When I was a child, my parents hired a nanny named Anne-Sophie. She was beautiful and sweet and foreign. I loved her name which is French and sounds so not English. Identity wise, this is probably not the name I would keep if I transitioned ( too many people call me Anne), but I would likely pick another exotic name like Lisette or Dominique (Nikki for short).

Giddy
03-29-2023, 07:01 AM
I?ve toyed with various names over the years, but none of them have ever felt right, so now I?ve just accepted that a name isn?t that important to me. So I don?t have a specific female name for my femme side, but as I posted in my introduction, the name Giddy seemed appropriate as it described how I felt when I bought and wore my first dress; giddy with excitement and pleasure. Perhaps I?ll keep the name, as I?m getting sort-of used to it.

sammy13

I chose the female version of my name. The nickname for both the male and female versions is the same so when I am a man or when I am a woman people don't have to change what they call me, but I do love the full version of my female name

my sister used to use the female version of my name to tease me as kids. Who knew it would stick hehe

Hello ladies! (Hugs and kisses all around)
My online name is Jenny Opalstar, which will become a Drag Queen name eventually.
However, I have settled on the name Jennifer Olivia as my femme name. (My mum once told me that would have been my name, had I been born female)

My inspiration for for my name Grace came from Princess Grace of Monaco. She was originally from Philadelphia Pa in the US and that is the same city I was born in. And her maiden name was Kelly which is my last name. She was simply stunning and gorgeous so I adopted her name and that is where my female name came from and Grace Kelly was born

My female name is sabrina , seems like a pretty casual name yet with alot of flavor =3
I got the inspiration from various characters and legends, Sabrina tend to be associated with magic, legend, warrior, mystic, and such... so I figured it really spoke to me more than anything else.
Also happy read everyone's story as well <3

My female name is Candace! I?ve always thought it was such a hot name and was so happy when I finally made the official move. Also, in college there was a GORGEOUS trans girl whose name was Candace so its kind of an honor to her as well.

Hello everyone. So I have had quit a few names in mind, mostly all of them were in reference to some of the women I dated or even wanted to date. But as I really sat and thought about it, I'm not them. I'm me! So trying to keep a similar name to my actual I went with Erica. Short and sweet.

I just had a play with my real name, and went with Ann-Drew, so people that I'm not out to, are using my femme name whether they know it or not.

My femme name has morphed a few times on my Journey, but I am pretty sure I have worked it out:
Jennifer- nearest female name to Jeffrey I could think up...plus there was a girl of that name in my past who was very kind to me as a child.
Olivia - the name I would have recieved, had I been born a GG.... plus it was my grandmother's middle name.
Robinson - my mother's maiden name.

<grin-blush>
I feel that this name combo reflects me as a person...
(...I just read that last line and had a joy burst... yay, IDENTITY!!)

I started with name "Suma" - meaning a "Flower" in Sanskrit. I was hoping that at some point in my life, the flower in me will blossom and takeover my entire life. Around an year ago, I have shifted to "Shanthi" meaning "Peace". Somehow, fortunately, after I decided on my new name, I had a chance to be as the form I can most connect with for over a week or so. I am sticking with that from here on, because I knew I was smiling for the first time from my heart after so long when I was being "Shanthi".

My name came from the fact that, the first time I make a full transformation on a studio in S?o Paulo (Brazil), the makeup artist said that I just look like Celine Dion. So be it. In the begging I was not sure, but now I am so happy and comfortable with my name.

I still need to think about a surname! Maybe I've got some inspiration here!

"Dena" is of Hebrew origin and its meaning can vary, but it is generally associated with "God is judge" or "divine justice." It is an elegant name with a spiritual significance that reflects the idea of divine judgment or equity.

Mine is a play on my middle name. My mother told me not long before she died that she was really hoping for a girl after having my two older brothers. Little did she know that she was closer to getting what she wanted than she knew, but I didn't have the courage to tell her about my "Jamie" side. In our family it wouldn't have been welcome news. Jamie just feels right, and when I am dressed I feel like a Jamie, so Jamie it is.

I've always liked the name Becky. It seemed like a fun and goofy name kind of like how I am. I was sort of calling myself Becky in my head anyway before the other me was even out. Unfortunately, now a days it's the kind of name that's used in a negative way, though I don't ever think I've met a Becky that enforces that stereotype. Bloodstone is another story, I honestly can't recall where I got that from, must have just been destiny.

I chose my name as I have liked it for a long time even before I started dressing, I have also known some very influential people in my life with this name. I must say though I do not dress to be feminine I dress because I enjoy how the clothes make me feel and the name just goes along with that part of my life, it kind of like an escape from the reality of life.

Bri
08-22-2023, 12:37 AM
I agree, it's the feel of the clothes, it's all the options available. That's a lot of it, the options women have are endless, from toned down makeup to looking like a clown, from dressing down in long skirts and dresses to bodycon stuff. Us men have very few options which has always seemed so unfair. Why can't we be flamboyant if we feel that on a certain day.

I chose my name when I came to terms and acceptance. Being part native American and knowing the belief that the Raven is the bird that stole the light from the vacant darkness and gifted the world with light. It is a sacred bird that can fly between 2 worlds this world and the next. l fly between 2 worlds with the enlightenment that I've been gifted to understand this is who I a,m, who I have been, and who I will always be in this lifetime.🥰🫂

DavinaB
08-24-2023, 04:34 AM
I chose Davina as my female name because it is close to my "real" name. I started cross dressing from a very young age and was given a multitude of female names (some of which were okay but others were not a very good fit for me). I have also been called by a variety of derogatory names by women while serving them as a submissive which is another story completely.

IJCCharlotte
10-18-2023, 06:00 AM
I chose Charlotte because I used to live there! I thought about names of women I've known, but I felt like I didn't want to use someone else's name. The thought made me feel like I would be trying to emulate someone else, but really I'm just discovering another side of me. And I've never known any other Charlottes!

It has been so long since I told how I came up with my name. I thought I might tell some of you newer members.

My name is in three parts. Leslie Mary Shy

Leslie:

Leslie is a name many people end up saying when they try to use a silent 'S' in my birth first name. Leslie, and similarity names, were used by school bullies since I was the smallest class member. I was the shortest person in many classes till I became 15, Then I grew painfully and awkwardly fast. I went from about 4' 6" to 6' 0" in just two years. so I turned the tables on them and accepted the name as my own.

Mary:

I took the name as a remembrance of a lover I had after my first wife of 36 years died of cancer. Mary was 6 years my Senior, and she died of a stroke. she was found dead by her phone trying to call me, my number was still on the phone display and on a note in her hand.

Shy:

I am basically a shy person. I hide my shyness by appearing to be a leader/extrovert so I can hide my sensitive areas about me. I still do.

So, now you know the story of my name.

I have not settled on a name yet. Samantha or Sam is a nice normal name but it didn't seem quite right. My Wii Mii name is Davina (a play on my real name David) and it's got some female attributes, for fun. But Davina doesn't really fit me either. A lot of this CD is about shedding the male BS so I'd be looking for a softer yet still strong name. A name evoking quiet strength. I'm reaching now!

you will in due time. The name will come to you, even if you use your male name. You will eventually develop a name for your fem side. It helps keep your thoughts, etc. UN-culttered.

It's been really a while when I explained my name her so for all the new people coming, I think that my name is a beautiful story.
When I came here I pick Vanessa. That was a name that fits me very well. It was the name of the first naked woman I saw in a movie. She was bisexual and I thought of myself as a bisexual.
Time came when I began on HRT, my mind experienced huge changes, even in sexuality. Now Vanessa was a name that not longer would fit me because my sexuality, as a result of T-blockers, Estradiol running in my veins affecting my whole body, was very different. I stopped feeling that I was bisexual. More than that, I feel really bad with all the sexual experiences with men and no longer was interested in men but just women.

My name was David, my mom used to called me davichito, but my wife didn't like it sp would call me devito, then just Devi.

One day, when I started in full time dressed as a woman, I was an Uber driver, so a Lady, from India, ask me why my name in the Uber profile was of a man while me being a woman, an me introducing myself as Debbie. I explained her that I was transgender. She asked me, so How Do you write your name, Debbie or Devi? I ask her how do you now about Devi (I thought that was just a nickname wife would pick for me) she answer, Debbie is an American name but Devi is of the Indian Goddess. A beautiful woman that eats men, so men fear her.

That day I decide to be Devi.

In October 2020, the court decree that my gender was female and my name was Devi San Martin.

I don't really have a great story behind my name like some girls here. When I first started exploring more of my feminine side, I just chose Jennifer as a name that seemed close to being alright. It never seemed "right" but it was enough

Then I looked into Allison as a name and that didn't quite seem right either. I never used it beyond a couple scenarios.

Then, after exploring more here, I realized I needed a better name than I had and I chose Natalie. No real reason behind it other than it being somewhat unique since I didn't know any Natalies.

My partner really allowed Natalie to blossom and I wanted to find a name that really felt right and one that felt right to my partner. Especially prior to going out en femme for the first time. So we sat down and went through a bunch of different names in case there was something better than Natalie. And, throughout most of that process, "Natalie" kept coming up as a good name. So, that is what we settled on.

I do like that I had a good name picked out earlier but I like this name even more now because my partner was involved in choosing the name which makes it even more special. And finalizing it that way just makes it feel even more "me"which is wonderful.

Snide_lobster
12-06-2023, 09:35 PM
I guess I don't really have a "female" name. IDK, perhaps it has something to do with my psychology but even though I aim to present as female looking as possible, and might even adopt a sassier personality doing so, I never feel like I'm not a man. I still feel like normal "me" just dressed up all fancy, which is why I think I'm hesitant to give myself a femme name proper. Hence my "interesting" profile name, Snide_Lobster, perhaps I've just got more than one screw loose. The few times I've been out and about, I still introduce myself as either my masculine name or "Snide". One young lady I met on my last outing wasn't satisfied with that and elected to name me Sapphire (I was wearing my blue dress at the time). Not sure how I feel about that one, but who knows, maybe it'll stick.

Hi

First post, a little nervous.

My female name is Lilith Abeko.

Lilith always sounded like a beautiful name. Also the whole succubus thing sounded hot for my fantasies of being a party gal.

Abeko was another name for Lilith, hence the surname.

I also go by Lil for short.

I love reading all these stories! It's great to hear from others how they found themselves.

I've been using Dani as my online name for a few years now, although it feels like a shoe that doesn't fit quite right. Maybe I'll take a new name someday, but I'm Dani for now.

25 years ago, I actually started with another name, of a girl that I loved, but she was dating my best friend. I thought she was the most beautiful, elegant, sexy woman that I had ever met. I loved her personality and I loved spending time with her, but she never saw me as more than one of her best friends. My heart would sing when we were together, and then do a complete 180 when she'd excuse herself and give me a friendly kiss goodnight then take my friend to her bedroom for the rest of the night. But still, I loved her and everything about her, and when my brain finally accepted and switched from "fetishist" to "crossdresser", she was the most womanly woman I could think of. I wanted to be her, more than anything. So I borrowed her name.

That name sort of fits me, but it's from a different time when I tried to compartmentalize the "male me" and the "female me". I wanted my female side to be exotic and sultry and different, but a couple of years ago, I' accepted that the "two me's" are a blended being, and needed a new identity.

I remembered that when I was little, I wanted to be called "Daniel", like the Elton John song. I always liked the name "Danielle", so it was a natural progression. I don't know if I'll ever truly come out to my family, or if I'll transition, but if were to come out that I was also Danielle, I'm sure it would be very much an "Ohhhhh....." moment for those who knew I always wanted to be Daniel. :)

I'm using the name Danni because I let my wife pick it! I'd originally picked a different name but it hadn't occurred to me that it was really similar to her best friend's name.
She said it'd feel wierd to use that name so I asked her to pick. She chose Danni because it was the name of girl she had a crush on as a teen.

After separating from my wife last year, I decided to try some dating sites. One very friendly girl got quite chatty but wanted me to verify myself through a website that was clearly a scam. Her name was Maya, and as I started to get more serious about dressing, I determined that I would be a better Maya then she was. Rose comes from a username I've long used elsewhere, so I'm combining my identities, I've become Maya Rose.

When I was a preteen my mother (perhaps jokingly) told me that if I had been born a girl, she would have named me Joyce Ann. Now it feels nice to honor her by taking the name that was her idea.

I have been thinking about a name for a little while, but haven?t thought of one yet because I?m still working out me, my name is Jim so Jamie first came to me, but it feels to close to my birth name, I?m thinking that I?m going to be a bit of a sassy lady even though I?m almost 60 and I?m thinking I want a name that reflects that sassy side of me but is also strong and feminine, I don?t want a name associated with any people we know, I was hoping it would come naturally but maybe I need to put it aside until I?ve managed to dress completely and not be in bits and pieces to see who I really am, maybe I?m just over thinking the whole thing

I chose Rachel as my femme name for several meaningful reasons.
Firstly, it honour's a cherished childhood friend named Rachel, whose beauty and friendship brought both warmth, joy and just a little envy to my early years.
Her kindness, grace, and unwavering support left a lasting impression on me, making the name Rachel resonate deeply with positive memories and connections.
Additionally, the initial "R" in Rachel aligns with the initial of my masculine name, ensuring a sense of continuity and familiarity, especially when using my bank cards or signing documents in femme mode. This subtle link provides a comforting bridge between my past and present identities.
Furthermore, the inherent femininity of the name Rachel speaks to qualities I aspire to embody?grace, strength, and nurturing. Its soft sounds and timeless elegance capture the essence of femininity, making it a fitting choice for my journey of self-expression and authenticity.

I chose Liz for a couple reasons. One is that I knew a Liz a long time ago when I was a teenager and kind of had a crush on her. She was an adult and I thought she was simply marvelous. Another is that I don't actually know any Liz's now and so there's no conflict or dissonance with anyone else. And I like that it's short and ends with a "z" sound. And, finally, I think it fits who I am -- or try to be -- as a woman. Or maybe I've become a "Liz" by choosing the name.

Christina Michelle, is the name I selcted from the combination of two great friends names that I was close with when in college.

Neither sadly live near by anymore, but they were always such great women. They were strong, compassionet, and hearts of gold... they also were able to put together the most gorgeous looks when we used to go out.

Only if I had found my femmine side a bit sooner! I would have loved to get some fashion tips!

Anne63
04-13-2024, 08:08 AM
My chosen name is Anne. It's a variant of the Hebrew Hannah (meaning graceful). It's the name of my late Auntie, of whom I was extremely fond. I think it's classy, sexy and incapable of being abbreviated to something silly. Over the years I've picked up many friends called Anne, Ann or Anna. You could say I collect them. It's perhaps not unnatural that I should choose my favourite female name for myself.
