I just purchased my first bra and a few pairs of panties, and I am beyond excited. It felt like a special moment to me. The thrill of getting to wear something different is helping me get deeper into crosdressing. I wanted to see how you all felt when you got your own first pair of panties and a bra.

It is indeed a turn on and thrilling to have your own things. My wife bought my first one for me from Lane Bryant. They were having a sale buy one get the second half off. The clerk asked her when we checked out if she knew she had two different sized ones. Wife nodded yes and since that time I now have three that fit perfect and two that have gotten tight since I started lifting weights again.

Well I was kinda meh when I got my first panties. I don’t like wearing them. I was excited and scared when I got my first bra. It meant I could finally have a chest! I got my first breast forms that same day. I wore everyday for the whole week as soon as I got off work. Getting it I was suppppppppeeeerrrr excited as it was my first time ever shopping in the women’s department.
An employee came up to me and asked if she could help me find anything. I was super nervous and I told her I was shopping for a gir friend but I’m sure she saw right through me. Helped me pick out a nice black satin one (still have it) and explained to me the difference in types of bras.

It was never a big deal and its been a long time so if there was any excitement I don't remember.
If you are excited then that is awesome.

The first bra I bought (with my money) was not the first bra I owned so, by that point, it was no big deal.

My emotions were like a whirlwind of confetti. I was anxious, aroused, curious, and excited. My head was in a tizzy, my heart thundering when I purchased a vintage lace front-close bra by Warner's. It was a truly magical time and I loved every second of it. Whenever I see or touch a white lace bra with a front closure I'm immediately drawn back to a lovely time.

Candice, your timing is somewhat scary as just a few days ago I actually purchased my own bras in person for the first time.
I had a long drive ahead of me so I took the time to "enjoy the ride" as Jamie. That ole Pink Fog came over me so I headed to the nearest shopping malls once I was ready but got to Kohl's just at closing time, only got to stroll in and look at the clearance racks up front. It was almost empty so I had a few minutes but wanted to enjoy the experience of shopping for lingerie in "person".
As it was Sunday night, time for the old standby of Walmart, 24 hours! I still am amazed I parked, checked my look in the mirror and stepped out. I almost lost my nerve near the door but something gave me assurance, that so many of the posters here have been there before me. The security guard gave me a long, too long, glance but I was by him and headed to the lingerie section, luckily it was near the front. The first bra I picked was a white front hook beauty, I couldn't believe I was actually in a store and shopping as Jamie. I managed to relax just a tiny bit and picked up bikini panties, which only made me go back to the displays for a black bra. My only other black bra was "borrowed" and way too small, not near enough support but now I would have my own, in my size!
I also picked up a nice pair of sunglasses and was now faced with the biggest moment in Jamie's life, getting on the checkout line and paying in person, something I had never done before.
To her great credit, the girl behind the register (Lynne, I'll never forget that name, thank you Lynne!) said "you look nice" though she had a somewhat bewildered expression on her face. I guess she doesn't get many girls from NJ down in central MD, or maybe that I'm larger and had to dress in the car, might have not been my best effort ever as a CD! I paid cash, got the change and said "Thank you" as softly as I could, walked on air towards the door and soon was back in front of the guard. I said "good night" and waltzed through the few people near the door, almost skipping to the car as I had finally bought my own clothes while dressed.
To all, if I could do it so can you! I will say the night was not over as I soon needed to stop and visit the ladies room. The rest stop was almost deserted and I felt very confident as I strolled in but not two minutes later a woman came in who started flushing every toilet down the line, skipped mine and I got the clue. I quickly finished, exited the stall and she was at the back of the restroom. I glanced her way and she said "good night, hun" in a knowing manner so I headed out to the lot. I did notice the security guard at a window, so I completely know I did not pass well at all but still enjoyed the evening. Did I mention I bought my own bras as Jamie for the first time?

Buying my first bra was probably a bit of an anti climax.
I don't remember the occasion.
Having a couple of girls put one on me when I was four did little for me then.
When I was eight I was fitted with a bra by one of the girls mothers gave me a feeling of elation, we all went out on a Sunday outing in pretty dresses and I looked like a fourteen year old at the time.
I had already acquired a few pairs given to me by others over time and the pair I found in the streed many years ago.

I can remember buying lingerie for the first time. I couldnt wait to get home to put them on. I soon bought loads of other clothes after that as i was hooked. Jewellery and perfume soon followed as well as the make up. I feel so happy for you.

It was exciting and disappointing at the same time. I bought a lace trimmed underwire bra at JC Penney's. Well, it was too small and the undereire was uncomfortable.but it was my first bra nevertheless. Since then, i have learned what my size is. That was many years ago though.

For me it felt like I had now started on a new journey through life, a journey to be enjoyed, a way of life enabling me to be at last able to fulfil that life long dream of feeling feminine and content. That first bra was an amazing start for me, a memory to be remembered and treasured.

I got my first bra less than 18 months ago. It was a big thrill emotionally (and a big turn on). I now own over thirty and love wearing them. I also loved the day when I realised that I had to wear one every day.

Weird. It felt too small in the cups. But the more I wore it the more normal it felt.

Early on I had stolen one of my mom's bras. Then I got married and used my wife's for a couple years. They weren't the right size, but she had a couple that stretched out to fit. When I was about 24/25 (35 years ago), I got up enough courage to buy my first. I went to a lingerie shop. There were two ladies working there, and as soon as I walked in they came over and asked if they could help me. One asked me "Is this for you?" I was scared but said yes, and they said they wanted to be sure I had the right size, and then took me to the back, measured me and had me try on a few. That first one was a Bali flower. I loved that bra, still my favorite style. To finally have one that was "for me" made me feel wonderful.

When I think about it, I have enjoyed my first bra .....maybe 50 times. Each new bra gives me pretty much the same thrill. I always enjoy the idea of looking for, purchasing, and wearing a pretty bra. My dilemma now is finding matching panties for each. But I guess that's another thread. Enjoy the excitement.

Since I had been wearing my wife's bra for years, buying my own was no biggie. Buying my first wig was a thrill though.

I had never wanted a bra and was quite happy without one, never wanted any new discomfort either (preferred swimwear). I eventually bought my first bra or 6 mid last year only to make myself look more feminine to others and for practice, "training bras" for Me. Surprisingly for me they made me feel slightly more ladylike and less like flat old Stacy, my preferred look!
Never really thought about this in depth before but I think that the occasional donning of a bra for me is a nice touch!
Braless Stacy!

I had bought many things 'for my wife', but the big turning point came when I openly bought something for myself ( a grey coat). I still fell a little odd buying underwear but it's not a major thing.

Kelly, your thread brought a smile to my face. I was sitting drinking coffee in my silky blue pajamas, panties and bra with my wife when I read your thread. She asked what I was smiling about and I read your thread to her and she laughed with me about the first bra I bought.
I bought my first bra and brought it home and tried it on.
I slipped a tshirt on and walk out to my wife and asked how I looked. She gave me a smile and just shook her head and said I don't see why you wear bras. I hate mine. I stood there feeling like a 12 year old girl with her first bra. I felt like a woman. So I told her, Baby when you wore your very first bra did you hate it. She said no. Did you want the boys to notice it and think now your a woman. SHE said yea. Did you want the strap to slid off your shoulder so everyone would know you were wearing a bra. She said yes. So give me a hug and let me enjoy being a 12 year old girl with her first bra. She smiled and said OK and walked across the room kissed me and gave me a big hug.
That's why your thread made me smile and my wife and I were able to share that moment again. Thank you.

The first bra I really remember as "mine" was my first ever makeover at Contessa's Closet in Los Angeles. She gave a makeover and I bought breast forms and a pocket bra for the forms. It was a beautiful pink color and I still have it. I have it with wonderful memories of Contessa.

It's strange. I've been crossdressing for nearly twenty years. But I've never worn a bra (I don't dress to pass).
Going by the comments in here, I'm missing out. So I may treat myself this weekend.....

I have bought many bras from VS, la senza here in Canada and my first was sears when they were around. I was 15, saying I was buying it for my GF, and the lady went” aw I wish my guy would even come into the store, let alone buy me some like your doing”
Got it home, and wore it all over, even was daring and wore the navy blue 36B to work one day.
Since then “hooked”
Now I can’t get enough, i have way more bras and sports bras then my SO has, and she just calls it “dress up”

Same here. I had been wearing other girl's clothing for many years by the time I was old enough to purchase my own things. An older sister who discarded things from her wardrobe due to fashion was a very handy person to have around.

KellyGCD,
The first time I purchased bra and panties. . . I had first started wearing panties, easier to conceal and something feminine was what I wanted so I went into Victoria’s Secret and hurriedly picked out several different styles and colors and headed to check out. After answering a few questions I paid then left. I later settled on bikini style panties as the type I would stick to and still do. Cotton seems to be the best, anything else and everything down there gets warm. As for bras, I went to the same Victoria’s Secret near closing time and asked if I could be fitted for a bra. The sales associate was very nice didn’t judge me and walked me to the dressing room where she returned with a few bras for me to try on. Within a few minutes she told me which bra sizes I should stick to unless I was going to use inserts. Something I didn’t try till way later but I’m still learning.

I agree with this!
A white softly padded bra and a white cotton bikini cut panty at age 12 from Kmart.
In October under the guise of Halloween.
They were mine to keep in my room to put on at anytime I desired.
And those desires were numerous.
Wearing that bra obviously helped to create that illusion in the mirror of me looking like a girl :o
Especially more so if I was wearing some of my sisters clothes :battingeyelashes:
In the past I took bras from the family's donation pile and later on borrowed my wife's bras. When it was time to buy my own, I properly measured and went in store to buy a full coverage boring black and grey bra. It is the only bra I have purchased. My wife has since given me bras she is done with and while most are prettier none of them are as comfortable as the one I bought.
For me purchasing my first pair of heels and panties were much more exciting since I never wore those before (big feet and don't want to wear used panties).

When I told my wife she didn't want me to wear her stuff and she suggested we go and buy my own panties and bra. When we went to the store she asked me which bra style I was interested in, I looked at a few and then ended up buying almost the same style that she wears. As I was looking it was so much fun as she was given me advice why not to buy some types but it felt so great to have my own stuff. It was an amazing day.

That was over 50 years ago and I just cannot remember how I felt. But since I was a teen I'm gone guess it was very sexual. Now the first time I bought a bra that actually supported my growing breasts, that was special. It probably was the closest I felt to what a girl must feel like when she realizes she needs a bra.

First bras I bought were on line. Probably about 15 in different styles. Then, around one week ago I bought a bra in store for the first time. What an amazing experience it was. The SA gave me a personal fitting and I tried on 3 or 4 bras. I settled on one and she suggested I leave it on and wear it out of the shop. Only had on a t-shirt and it was obvious that I was wearing a bra underneath, but hey, I was on a high. Four days later I returned to the shop and purchased three more. She now has another best customer.

Hi, Kelly...Kelley here.
While I've had bras in the past, the most exciting is the one I bought about 8 months ago, a strapless 44D Cacique, white. Needed it for my strapless dresses.
I bought a 44H, too, but that's for my bridesmaid's dress, which is a 26W, and a little large up top. Unfortunately, that one isn't white, but tan.
I've started sleeping dressed some nights, and I like it. Confuses my wife as to how I can stand it, but she's female, so...

Kelly,
I was just thinking the question through, how did I do it the first time and how did I feel ?
I know I said it was for my wife but in those days companies like Charnos di complete matchinfg sets in some lovely colours anI wanted my fisrt whole set. So I made sure I knew my sizes and wrote them down. When I entered the shop I showed them the list and told themtheyt were for my wife and added if they didn't fit could she do an exchange ( that always helpled I felt ) .
I managed to find a lovely set in lovely a green colour but they didn't have the supsnder belt , by then I was on mission so I drove to another town and found one in stock. Then it struck me I didn't hgave any stockings so the obvious thing to dom was buy them with the suspender belt , what size , what colour ? I didn't know what to reply so I said normal size .
I couldn't get home quick enough , to put your first full set of underwear on with stockings I agree is quite a moment , my hands were trembling , certain parts of my anatomy was giving me problems . Then the whole thing really kicks in I raided my wife's wardrobe I wanted to try every outfit on with my underwear on . I guess that's when the pink fog really rolls in, I wanted shoes, I wanted makeup , I had a wig . As I had my own photography business I took pictures with every outfit in my studio and processed them in my darkroom . It didn't hit me until I saw my pictures then I knew something special had fianally happened the guy had disapeared and an unexpected woman had emerged , no going back .

When I bought my first bra from Walmart, I was excited and couldn't wait to put it on. At the time I was wearing breast forms with straps. When I put the bra on, it kept slipping up over the breast forms, no matter how much I adjusted it. This depressed me some, as I wanted to wear a bra so badly. I took it back to the store and received a refund, figuring I wouldn't really be able to wear a bra and have it fit right unless I did 1 of 2 things.... Either get breast implants or grow my own, which would never happen since too many people know me and would think I went crazy. Or 2, get breast forms without straps and glue them on, and I wanted to avoid putting glue on myself at all costs. I figured I'd just have to miss out on bras.
Then I discovered pocket-bras, and needing a new pair of breast forms since my old ones with the straps kept on breaking and snapping, I bought those too and had them inserted into the pocket-bra. When I put it on for the first time, it felt absolutely fabulous! I could wear a bra now, didn't have to worry about stupid straps, and they even stayed up higher where they were supposed to. I wish I had discovered pocket-bras earlier!

The first bra I ever bought was a vivid red Vanity Fair bra. I already owned the matching slip and panty. It was Christmas time. I remember the guy behind me gave me a dirty look as I brought the bra. To this day I did not understand his sneer since it was the time of year when guys would be buying a wife or girlfriend pretty lingerie. Sometimes when I see guys sneering at men buying lingerie I pity their wives or girlfriends. I suspect they are too manly to touch the stuff in the store. My wife always appreciated getting lingerie from me.
Anyway, I felt great to have a coordinated set of bra, panty and full slip. Although the bra does not fit anymore I still have it and the matching panty and slip. Cannot bear to get rid of it. Of course, I do have ensemble in a size that fits me.

Them I was scared and excited at the same time cause my mother made tell the SA they were for me

I grew up inheriting my sisters' bras slips and various clothes. So buying a bra wasn't that hard except I basically let it out that it was for me. The one that was different was the first time I bought a black strapless bustier. I was going to wear a dark navy blue dress with a lace bodice to an event. Since a bustier required an accurate fit I had to admit it was for me. I took the dress with me. The women were more than happy to help me. They were impressed as to how much I looked like a young woman.
Years later I was at a Nordstrom and asked to try on a couple bras. The SA put me in a dressing room to try them on. Whoever was in the dressing room before me had tried on close to a dozen bustiers. I assumed it was probably a bride. Who ever it was she was my size range. I tried on several, but none felt quite right and I didn't need one. The SA came by and asked if I was done. Apologized for leaving them in the dressing room. I told her that I had tried some on but didn't find any I wanted. She offered to go find some for me but I passed.

I don't have a big inventory of bras but I have found that using Amazon prime works really well for buying all kinds of Women's clothing. I have not ventured into a retail store yet to purchase something for myself. I just got into this over the past 18 months and am just learning how far I am comfortable with going.
