Hi Katie! I know that for me, dressing in my maids outfit and taking care of the house is the ultimate show to my wife that I am being submissive to her. In my alter ego, he is very dominate and an "A" personality, but as my true inner self, Maria, the warmth and comforting attention to others is always there. Yes, Maria has blended into the real world as part of my personality, and at times it has caused me sorrow. BUT being that sexy maid as they say is something that is fun, especially vacuuming in my heels. The added bonus is that I can reach higher when cleaning without any issue
He is interested in a little bit of the submissive games though he is unsure of how far he wants to go, I hope I can make it fun for him.
I been researching the subject a little and trying to pull some of the more mild stuff from what I'm reading.
I hope I can pull off being the dominant one without embarrassing myself. I might need him to annoy me first so I have some inspiration lol
I am sure you will have fun. Compliments on How cute, how nice she looks can make a maid feel wonderful. I think I mentioned my wife mentioned how nice my legs looked they were in nylons and I will never forget that, it was her first comment about how I looked and she rarely sees me dressed! What a lucky maid. I hope we hear more.

Well I think it's all of those reasons.
It's super sexy, it's ultra feminine, it's a bit risque, it's a bit submissive. It's something that is diametrically opposed to the typical male machismo and that in itself is somewhat freeing.
It's a fantasy icon in most men's minds and it's just fun to BE that icon rather than fantasize about being With that icon.
Some women dream of a pair of Louboutin heels, I dream of my maid's uniform. Whatever floats your boat.
Well for me they do nothing. Same as wedding dresses. Or dresses of any kind or forms or makeup .......

I have been reading the posts and I want to add my 2 cents worth again. The talk about submission and maids being demeaning to women. Only if it is a situation where the woman, or man, doesn't want it or on some level enjoy it, is it really demeaning. In your situation you are playing adult "games". (adult cops and robbers, cowboys and indians, etc.) As long as you know what you are doing and agree generally what will happen it is OK and what others think isn't important. As for your "man" seeming to be a wimp because or while he is "dressed" well it works like this. He may be a submissive maid in the "bedroom" but out in the world he is still a man and will "escort" you and take care of you. This is how it works for many dominant women. They may still be dominant while out and about and the man submissive to them but he will still be strong as the situation may require. As for you being dominant, make sure you have fun! It's not only for your husband, it's for you to, to take on a different role, get into it. It's OK to be a bit of a B*&ch if you are both playing a role and having fun! Go for it. Sherrii
Katie, I don't think you have to be dominant just have fun with it. The role play fantasy I always had was that I bought the outfit for her but she said it was demeaning but would wear it only If she could doll me up in it first. So it kind of involved her teasing me as she kind of made me slip into all the frilly items. I of course then had to clean while wearing it. In the fantasy she ends up sneaking in some pictures and lets me know their is no way she will ever wear the silly outfit but that I will be wearing it again if I cross her or the pics will be sent out for all of our friends to enjoy.

A lot of respondents have used the word submissive but I like to think of it more in terms of passive. While I don't have a French maid's outfit (I'd really like ot find a nice one that fit me properly), I think it's like my wearing babydoll PJs from time to time. When I do, I don't want to feel submissive but do enjoy the feeling of being passive...
The traditional male role is one of being aggressive but I feel that there are times when we want to shed that and just relax, be laid back and let whatever happens happen. I would think that if I were to don such an outfit, it would put me more on equal terms with my better half. But it would also be nice to hear her tell me I had hot looking legs too! :)

Yeah, the French maid costume is fun & cute & sexy, blah blah blah. Aesthetically-pleasing, and all that. But as others have mentioned, there's also a social & psychological thing to it, as well.
It evokes certain thoughts & feelings & emotions... Not only by the wearer, but also those around them, as well. Kinda cool, really. :thumbsup:

There's a young & attractive GG who's into cosplay who once dressed up as a French maid (during August, mind you... not a Halloween thing!), complete with a long blonde wig, and walked around a very busy Costco, doing goofy things, allowing the costume to tap into another aspect of her personality. She was just having fun with it all. :)

Really you can use any costume if role-playing that places this "girl" under your authority. I think the point may be, not only being submissive, but role-playing "as a sexy girl". I think there's a little bit of male-fantasy there, except, the guy wants to do it, not have a girl do it for him, though some guys are either/or. He dresses up and role-plays as your maid, schoolgirl, beer wench, whatever. And it's titillating if you include some teasing, sexual innuendo, heck even swat his rear. Of course, if there's a sexual component to this, ravishing "her" would be the coup de grace. Let's face it, some CDers fantasize about being a hot girl being submissive to her dominate man/woman and then having sex "as that girl". Some make a lifestyle of it, some only want to play.Quote:

As others have said, its not just a cd thing, I love to dress up and look really girly, there is a reason why the "sexy" versions of things are ppopular for Halloween. I personally never wore a maids outfit although I might try on his lol but I was a "sexy Jason Voorhees " for a party this passed year.

I got my first maid uniform in maybe October. I got it for more sexual reasons but it's become something I love to wear around the house/apartment. It feels so empowering.
School girl outfits can go either way always been a fan of a little flirty but modest.
I have several, originally it was for purely sexual reasons, but as my fiancee and I have started our life living together it has evolved for me. Generally when I am dressed and we are cleaning, I will wear it.
I'd have to say for me it's part of living out a fantasy, where I lose my larger anxieties and responsibilities and the only thing that concerns me is making the house as clean as possible. It gives me a good break from the outside world, and in that is quite cathartic.

As you can see from the range of answer you received it certainly seems to mean different things to different people. I have made myself a french maid outfit several years back that I wear once a month or so, and am definitely in the 'makes me feel really girly' camp on this, not the submissive camp or any of the other camps. IMO, the attraction is that when weaning it, you become a sex object and that is enjoyable for some CDs as well as some GG's. :)
I have a couple of different maid uniforms both with a few extras. An occasional opportunity to wear something generally impractical of whatever unsual colours to have fun in for a bit. If any cleaning actually occurs it's a bonus but mostly for the feel and for fun and to not take it too seriously.

I have recently bought my very first French Maid outfit, and I love it! I'm aware that it is typically associated with sissy crossdressers, particularly those who want to be in a submissive relationship with a Mistress. While I have no interest in this sort of thing, I would say there are quite a few things I like to wear that sissies wear. I bought the French Maid outfit simply because I thought I would look cute and sexy in it. And I do indeed love it. As for cleaning while wearing it, that's not my thing.

Personal theory: its chauvinism and pigeonholeing of traditional gender roles. I find “costumes” that reflect women’s strength far sexier than those that play on submissiveness and subservience. I’ll take sexy executive over French maid any day.
