Jasmine is of Persian origin meaning " gift from God " or fragrant flower", I chose Jasmine because to me it sounds so feminine and there isn't a male equivalent that I can think of, it also conjures up images in my mind of a feminine woman strolling through a field of flowers on a beautiful sunny day, in my mind I am her! Had no idea of the the name's origins or meaning until I looked it up before posting this!
This is awesome :)
I do not consciously strive to be feminine nor do I wish to live as a woman. However, I do find comfort and a sense of normalcy wearing the clothing along with breast forms but no wig nor makeup. I only chose a name when I joined this site as it seemed appropriate. Should one strange day ever present itself in my life that I am wearing femme attire in public and for my daily activities I would still go with my given male name.
Having said that, I found it curiously interesting that "Veronica" leans along the lines of meaning "true image" or "true likeness" and the last name of Lacey is a "gender-neutral name meaning cheerful." I chose Veronica from the Archie comic books and Lacey as I like a little bit of lace here and there on some of my clothing.
When I crossdress am I cheerfully my true self? Rod Serling steps from the shadows...:)
I went with Danni/Danielle after coming fully out to my wife - she picked and I liked it.
The full name I came up with is Danielle Samantha Blue. I've just always like Sam as a girl's name, and then "Blue"...
That's got a bit of a story to it.
When I was a late-teen I discovered my bisexuality while "looking" at some - ahem - pictures from the Internet. I'm not sure how it is for most in this kind of situation but I always used to like fantasising myself into the scene I was looking at, when looking at that kind of thing.
Anyway, this particular time the woman was simply gorgeous, in various states of (un)dress doing things with the (to be honest also rather pretty) guy. I had a sudden realisation that in my fantasy I wanted to be her, not him.
I find it hilarious now that I only thought it was about being bisexual. I wish there'd been someone to scream in my face YOU WANT TO BE HER!!!!
Anway, in recent times I rediscovered an old hard drive, found those pictures and did some image searching thanks to Google. Her name is Devon Blue, I took the surname as a thank you to her for opening my eyes.
But the meaning of the name Danielle? I've just looked it up and apparently "God is my judge", which is funny/appropriate for several reasons!
Melissa comes from the Greek word for honeybee. Lynn is short for Linda which means pretty. Lynn also comes from the Welsh word for lake.
None of these thoughts entered my mind in picking the femme name. Melissa was an ill-advised pre-adolescent crush. Lynn, as the diminutive for Linda, was inspired by a girl I met in my teens who was quite, how should I say, socially advanced for her age.
Neither inspired me to dress but I like the way the names flow together and I like to think I learned something since then.
Apparently, Maxine means "greatest" in Latin, and Emily (my female middle name) means rival;laborious;eager in Latin, and Smith is an occupational name. All I was thinking of for "Maxine" was that the nickname "Max" sounds at least somewhat similar to my real/male name. "Emily" has the same first letter as "Elizabeth", which I'd considered using before, but ended up deciding against
"Prudence" was already taken.Quote:
? How did you choose your femme name?
I think pretty much everybody does. ;)Quote:
? Do you know the meaning of your femme name?
Well, I picked it, so yes.Quote:

Alexa means defender, I chose it just because I liked it, didn't know the meaning until now, just checked google, I like the meaning.
