My apologies to Wildaboutheels, Freddy’s like-minded yet misunderstood unofficial friend...
No, I’m not wild about heels, in fact I neither own any, nor have I ever owned any. They simply don’t interest me, and they do not represent first contact, or the curious portal I entered on the way to the wonderful world of crossdressing. I wear flats. Always have. Always will...
Lately I’m wondering WHY I’m not nuts about heels. I mean, what happened?
Well, they seem rather impractical to me, for one thing. Also, I get dizzy VERY easily. Under what circumstances would I wish to be teetering a few inches higher, subject to motion sickness, unstable, and restricted in my movements? I’m tall enough, thanks, tall for a woman my age...
The outfits I wear, which make me look something like a conservative schoolmarm, do not require me to show much leg, OK? There’s no need to make the back of my legs (or higher) look a certain way, to attract people I do not wish to attract. Also, I don’t want to attract any attention as I crossdress within the “zone” I have created, so heels, with their click-clack chatter echoing off of any nearby structure, would certainly defeat the purpose. I AM a very quiet girl, believe me...
I once saw a woman lose one of her heels when she walked over a metal grate in Boston – it just ripped the heel right off the shoe, and the poor woman was left hobbling around, helpless. Heels often look like spiked weapons to me – I can’t seem to forget that scene early in the film Robocop 2, when the two prostitutes cruelly blind a man with their heels. Also, the insistence that women wear heels in porno films, hard or soft, even when they’re wearing nothing else, has (I think) had a real negative effect on me. I understand you may want to make the feet, as well as the legs, look as good as possible on-screen (in the eyes of whoever is making the film), but wearing heels in bed is a little ridiculous, isn’t it?
On the other hand, flats (to me) always look elegant, adorable, and comfortable. When I began to crossdress I knew what I wanted to wear, and, although I’m not a shoe fetishist by any stretch of the imagination, I do enjoy NOT wearing heels. I kick up my heels often, feeling merry as I can be, but my heels are LOW and barely noticeable, part of my chosen anti-sexy presentation...
I know many MtF crossdressers LOVE heels. To each his (or her) own. Are you wild about heels?

The crossdressing community is one that needs to stick together and continue to be there for each other for whatever one needs. We are always trying to improve the forum to better serve the crossdresser in all of us.
