I've not been able to trust others pretty much all my life and my hidden CDing has a great deal to do with it. I have no close friends, just acquaintances. I've had girlfriends in the past whom I could have loved and married, but I just could not let them get too close for fear of them finding me out. The emotional consequences would have devastating.
