Finally Got My Girly Day!!

First, thank you all for your comments and compliments. I'm glad my little adventures entertain you. Now it's your turn. You can see how easy it is. Get out there and then tell us about it. You certainly don't have to be as verbose as me (actually, in the name of all that's Holy, please don't! ), but get out there. Let the world see that we're normal, stable individuals.

I found a little boutique nearby which as some wonderful linen (?) walking shorts in white by Trina Turk that I absolutely adore. You have great taste!

Awwww, thanks! I don't necessarily know fashion, but after almost 40 years or so of "girl watching" I know what looks good and I know what looks good on me. Unfortunately, spoiling my wife all these years in regards to clothes has left me unable to want anything but "the good stuff" myself.

That's awesome that he was so helpful, that he treated you like any other woman. No matter his motivation, whether he is a truly accepting soul or figures your money is as green as the next girl's (which it is), service like that is priceless.

As I chatted with him, he genuinely had no problem with me. It's one of the things I like to make sure of. He said that to him, I was simply a beautiful woman (wow, nearsightedness is becoming epidemic!) out shopping, and he had no problem treating me as one.

I know it may add a bit more to the price of a dress....but you could always go to a tailor and have the mid section taken in a bit...may cost 20-30 bucks...but for a cute dress with a tailored look, it would be worth it. I loved the bamboo print on you.

Paula, thanks so much for the idea! My wife has a great tailor that she uses. Maybe that dress will be mine after all!

I have one question, what did you do when nature called? Can you give some details about what restrooms you used and why. I am doing fairly well going out and about, but I'm still very nervous about using the ladies room. I am usually in NJ or Pa, thanks sooo much, you have truly inspired me to keep on shopping, enfemme. Sara

When nature calls, I use the restroom that I look like I should. Yesterday, I used the ladies room - Nordstrom's, the mall, wherever. Once, I did hear a few teenage girls whispering as I was leaving, but they're the same ones that complimented me on my my shoes a minute earlier, so who cares? It's all good! The only time I will back out is if I know that there is a mother with young children in there. As with all animals in nature, never get on the bad side of a mother with her cubs - the results can be disastrous!

That's a great suggestion, Mary! I will do just that. I'm never afraid of typing. Of course, with me, it's really hunt and peck. I use the index finger of my left hand and the middle finger of my right hand. It sounds awkward, but after years of practice (thanks to learning an an old manual Olivetti with sticky keys), I can hunt and peck pretty darn fast!

Should I post it in here or make a new post? I'm never sure.

Thanks Sue! As I said, My sense of style is a bit on the "foofy" side. On the rare times I get to be a girl, I feel (Are you listening, Karren?) why waste it on jeans? I'm going for lace and ruffles and pearls! If I get called a girly girl, so be it.

I hope we can make it a twosome one of these days. I think we Utah girls need to have a meetup and take the mall by storm!

You'll find that no matter how conservative the city, every place is open to you. It's all based on your attitude. Get out there and show the world that you are a normal person - who happens to have an unusual wardrobe.
