If he got close and started trouble a shot to his eyes would definately disable him, give you time to escape and a lot less trouble than pulling your gun. As we all know a gun could involve the police, you booked and taken to jail, making bond, lawyers at big bucks, trial and where you might be spending your future. You can only use the gun if your life is threatened so I say use the pepper spray first and the gun as a last resort. Everyone , male or female should carry pepper spray. You did the right thing, glad he didn't see you leave and follow you home.
