Amy, add my voice to the chorus - I'm sorry that this hasn't particular relationship didn't go as you'd hoped, but I applaud your honesty and openness and really I applaud hers. She didn't run screaming away. Just expressed her feelings. I would definitely take advantage of her offer and spend some time with her as friends. On the one hand, it may not change her perspective on you, but you'll continue to builld another kind of bond with her. A lifetime friend is worth having in and of itself.
