In my Closet of Wonder, I have one of my very first computers (my first computer was one I built in 1979 - it had 1K of memory!), a Heathkit H8 with the H9 monitor/keyboard and the dual 8-inch floppy drive. Couple that with a few 8K static RAM boards (covered in chips) and a 64K dynamic RAM board and I was one turbocharged geek. I'm sure it's one part self-fulfilling prophesy (I tell myself that I am going to have a great time tonight, and by golly I do!) and one part being brainless enough to brave the consequences (or, more likely, not being bright enough to know there may be consequences).
