Simply something close enough to my given name...nothing more, nothing less...and, easy to remember since I am a blonde!

eluuzion
02-18-2010, 12:12 AM
Eluuzion is just a modified metaphor for (illusion), which seemed appropriate both in my business specialty and CD adventures. Also is a reference to being "invisible", which I have been in real life for over 10 years now. Never felt the necessity for a last name.

I've never related to a "name" or reference to a different "person". "Illeism" (third person reference to oneself) is a concept I do not identify with.

In instances that require a "name", I use Deecey Christian. Deecey being a reference to AC-DC and Christian being a generic last name which easily disappears in a crowd.

I've had three longer term names. When I was a child of four, I chose Caroline... I have no idea why. I just liked it I suppose (maybe there was a Caroline at nursery school ?). Later in life, I had a crisis and ran through about a dozen more names in as many months, I was Stacy, Tracy, Fiona etc... And then Settled with Fiona for quite a while, a direct lift from a family friend.

When I came face to face with doom, gloom, explosions and illness I decided I wanted a change, and a name to go with it... AS I had just met Helen, we decided the way forward was a top ten each, then hold semi finals, and finals.

The only name that appeared on both Lists was Imogen.. No surprise that it won the day, and here I am now.

Mine was easy,I was born in June

ChainedJane
02-18-2010, 01:09 PM
I chose Jane because I've been in love with that name since I was a teenager. I used to watch this cartoon called Daria on MTV and one of the characters was named Jane Lane, so unless my fiance and I can come up with something better I'm Jane Lane Bouvier (Bouvier being my so-to-be wife's "drag family" name). Jane wasn't my first choice, Alice was, but there's a woman named Alice that my fiance knows and she hates her, so I figured I'd better stay clear of that one!

As for the "Chained" part, I figure Jane has spent many many years chained up inside me and now she finally gets to be set free, at least a little. Not that I mind being chained up, especially as Jane. :heehee:

I had many names growing up, and I still play around with names and what to call myself. But for the most part I go by Marcy. A great TS friend of mine gave me the name years ago and I still love the way it sounds.

LisaAlexander
02-18-2010, 07:16 PM
I don't usually go by a name because I mostly dress by myself and don't go out, but anyways, my mother had a pink babyshower.. so yeah, I was supposed to be a girl imagine that (she got stuck with a bunch of babygirl stuff :p) and what was she gonna call me? Lisa... so that's why I chose that name, as for the Alexander part... it's a little more elaborate, my real name is Randy (which is also a girls name BTW), and while I was doing theater I came up with Randy Alexander as a stage name (only because there's a cocktail named Brandy Alexander.. I tend to be "clever" in such ways) so in trying to add a second name I tried Alexis.. but LisaAlexis is odd.. I also tried RandyLisa but that took on other meanings haha. Other permutations were LisaAlexandria LisaAlexandrina LisaAlejandra.. maybe in spanish they do work but I ended with Alexander anyways, that in this case is more of a surname (even tho' I've also met a girl named Alexander)

Karenmarie
02-19-2010, 11:44 PM
I have no idea how I came up with my name. I have always loved the name
Karen and also Marie....wow... Karenmarie. Even years ago when I would fantisize about dressing etc., my name woulod always be Karen or Karenmarie.

kristyk
02-21-2010, 11:30 AM

After putting on full makeup and dress, looked in mirror and said out loud "I'd shine if I was born a girl". That was me Ida Shine.

JillMarie
02-21-2010, 08:31 PM
I didn't like Jone or Willma for John & William. Everyone calls me Bill so Jill made sense it sounds close enough that if someone calls me I wont act like I'm def by not responding. And Marie is the family standard female middle name.

Kayla Glass

Kayla - I wanted to keep the first initial the same as my male name and this was the most cutesy K name I could thing of.

Glass - from a dirty joke I heard on the British quiz show QI: "I had a friend named Glasscock, you could always see him coming"

gigiluv
02-22-2010, 05:23 PM
The only person in the world that knows about me calls me gigi. I chose Gina. For the life of me I cannot figure out why. Maybe I just always wanted to be Gina. Anyway, I discovered this passion just about a month ago, and immediately wondered why it took so long. All the signs were there from a very young age, but life just got in the way. Thanks for being there to all of you.

Cassandra Lynn
02-23-2010, 05:48 PM
Had i been born female i would have been Christine, but i'm just not real fond of it and wouldn't feel right by my beloved mother. Cassandra just had a certain quality that i like, and even shortened to Cassie, i still like it. I hope to play sissy maid some day and will probably switch to Tina Marie for her.

Xcindyx
02-24-2010, 02:15 AM
Ive just always been a fan of the name.

Amanda Stubbs
02-24-2010, 10:37 AM
My name is a combination of my two favorite girls - AMANDA Lamb who is a beautiful television presenter (I've been lucky enough to meet her!) and Alison STUBBS a very beautiful young friend of mine, they are both fairly tall (5'7" +) if I HAD to be someone it would be either of them

I've told this story many times, so what's one more?

Everyone assumes I chose Zelda because of:

*The game
*F. Scott Fitzgerald's Wife
*Dobie Gillis' girlfriend
*Marilyn Monroe's pseudonym

When I first began to dress I had planned on becoming Victoria, but the connections to "Victor/Victoria" were too close. I wrote off all the common names, because I did not want to be confused with other people. I wanted a name that was different, sounded mysterious but wasn't too hard to spell or say. Zelda just kind of came out of a bunch of names I tried saying out loud and it just seemed right.

My middle name is from another person who was instrumental in my growth, and who I liked a lot. Rose was also a name I was sort of fond of.

Everyone assumes that Rose is my last name. It's not, but that's for me to know...:)

When I was a child I liked to play the role of Marco Polo, the Venice´s merchant.
He was a kind of my favorite legend. I took my whole femme name after his.
I have a middle name Elisa, my wife´s favorite.

Traci Elizabeth
02-24-2010, 03:33 PM
I actually went on three different web sites that had girls names and searched for names that were popular when I was born.

Then I narrowed the names down to 10. Sat down with my wife and her and I actually picked the same first name our of the ten (Traci).

My wife came up with Ann as a middle name that I kept for less than 24 hours. I just did not like the combination. So I went back to the top ten I had selected and liked Elizabeth be best out of the remaining nine names.

Thus the birth of Traci Elizabeth. :)

Ruikki
02-26-2010, 01:13 PM
I actually havent found a serious name yet. Ive chose ruikki on this site more because I like the name and I want to be discrete online. Im not sure if I want my identity to have the name Ruikki though. I came across the name Jamie which really strikes me as fitting however i still haven't decided.

bobbi38
02-27-2010, 10:40 PM
i picked "bobbi" because it sounds so girly and perky. the 38 is because i was 38 when i finally decided on a "real" name.

02-28-2010, 12:23 AM
Mine... probably just an aneurism. But, that's okay. Got about a dozen female names from my short stories yet Echo popped to the surface....Besides, it sounds like it has deeper relevance to the one true me....which sounds great, except for the fact that I am pretty shallow.

Susie
03-02-2010, 07:01 AM
I just wrote down a list of names, and managed to narrow it down to about half a dozen. Then I struggled to pick one... eventually I went with Susie. I'll have to wait and see if it feels right over time!

interesting enough, the girl who took my virginity screamed the name, instead of my name. yes, indeed, what a surprise to discover she went both ways. so it just stuck.

Alexei
03-03-2010, 11:59 PM
I haven't actually picked a name, but I narrowed it down to a few.

I've always been fascinated with Old Norse culture, and like the sound of Astrid and Erika, but also like my conveniently unisex given name, Alex.

Eva
03-04-2010, 09:02 PM
Eva Jene is the female version of my male name.

jessia_arrora
03-05-2010, 08:47 PM

LisaMallon
03-06-2010, 02:45 AM
I just always loved the name Lisa. The last name was an amalgon of my own name and others.

So Katie it is then!

My name came from the next door neighbor, of the Bundy's. From the famous Married with Children. Marci was so sweet and so sexy. It also doesn't hurt that shes gay in real life. The gbg part is a town abbreviation, where I'm from.

Miss Anais
03-09-2010, 04:31 PM
I've read some of Anais Nin's work and found it character building, so to speak, and have always been fond of her rare name. I added a Miss to it just to add some cuteness. :o:):daydreaming:

I thought of using mymom's girl name for me which would've been Theresa, but it's my wife's middle name. I thought the corelation too strange.

Lauren KS
03-09-2010, 11:21 PM
A girl I had a crush on in school had the name Lauren, but I always liked the sound of it, too.

Rachel2000
03-10-2010, 04:32 AM
About 25 years ago, my coworkers used to kid me about have a very cute butt and gave me the nickname "Rachel" so I thought why not? If they only knew lol.

Angielynne
03-13-2010, 02:11 AM
Angelica Lynne... Angelica, based on the root angel (I know... cheesy...) and Lynne because of a very inspirational teacher I had in HS... Her name was Lynne-Marie...

Eva
03-13-2010, 11:50 PM
Mine is a play on my real name. So Eva Jene just fit.

Ashlyn
03-14-2010, 06:09 AM
I wanted an name that began with A and after going through all the Anne's,Amy's, Alice's,Alicia's, etc... I did not find what I wanted. Then I remembered a porn star called Ashlyn Gere and I thought wow Ashlyn that sounds unique and oringinal... and thus Ashlyn was born!!!

Chloe Renee
03-15-2010, 08:07 AM
My first name Jasmin was based upon my nicname in drab. I thought it was a good name at the time. After a couple years my thoughts changed, too many drag queens and strippers in my area had the same name.
My second choice Vicky fields, was a rebirth and a new awakening. It came after disclosure to my wife, and I thought fitting. However it turns out my SO has a dislike to that name due to asscoiated memorys. So I've asked my SO to find a name that she finds suitable. She has been searching pretty hard and keeps find great names from mythology.
I hope soon to be renamed soon for good, until then love,
V Fields

Ashley Allen
03-15-2010, 12:30 PM
Ashley came about so long ago that I do not really recall. It was the name of my favorite barbie. Ok it wasn't my barbie, and the fact that I had no sisters meant she wasn't available to play with everyday, but I did used to pretend Ashley was me way back then. I always assumed every girl plays with dolls and pretends the doll is her when she's grown up. Guess I was just always Ashley, and the Allen, well that's my middle name so and I decided on using that for this website because it solidifies Ashley

Sarah_C
03-15-2010, 07:10 PM
I've always like the name sarah and its pretty close to my male name too. I'm only a few hours into being my new feminine persona, it feels so good :)

I've thought about whether or not my inner woman would have a name. Nothing really popped out as 'her' name. So I tried to pick a name that I liked, that I could see myself being named that and that my wife and I wouldn't use for a possible daughter. So after about 3 months, I ended up with Kayleigh. It actually is quite perfect for several reasons. 1. because I knew a Kayleigh and she was HOT. 2. because my first name starts with the letter K and my middle name is Leigh. (Yes, spelled the girl way. That was my mom's decision. She wanted a girl). 3. The Kayleigh I knew had a similar complexion as I do. So there it is.

BTW, if anyone reading this figures out who I am, give me a call so we can trade tips.

Dawn Andrews
03-16-2010, 10:08 PM
Hi everyone,
When I first started using forums I used Dawn and a surname beginning with the same letter as my male one. I just thought that it was right to change it, so when I joined Crossdressers.com I remembered a girl called Dawn I went to school with (age 5 - 11) and 'borrowed' hers.
Apparently, if I had been born a girl, Dad liked the name Diane which I quite like.

I have always liked the name Nicole its a strong name and most I have known were confident, so I just like the name. West comes from that diva Mae West who was as over the top as they got in her day and was very sexual so I like those qualities in her thus my name Nicole West :)

Princess Ludwyna
03-17-2010, 12:44 PM
A few years ago i played a princess in a role playing game. I went with the name Ludwyna at the time. (A derived version of Ludivine, Lydwine or Ludwine but with a final a it sounds more rpg). Normally it's written Ludwina, but i decided to put a Y for nobility and because Ludwyna a very rare name. What's rare is precious lol.

Ethymology : lind : sweet win : friend
Other meanings : from hold (famous) and wig (fighter) ; liut (people) and win (friend)

Thought it was cool and then i decided to use that name for my female self whose look is based on that rpg character i created anyway.

Jessy
03-19-2010, 02:58 PM
I don't even remember where and how I got the names, but I always saw myself as a Jessy or an Ashley. I sticked with the first, since it's been with me much longer.

bron
03-19-2010, 10:04 PM
My name, Bronwyn, came to me when i was thinking of a name for myself. I just twisted my male name around [brian] and came up with Bronwyn or Bron or Bronny, any of which i will answer too. Sadly only a few people in town know that name. Bron

Ruby Sundaze
03-20-2010, 06:52 PM
Ruby is just the female version of my name, and also people have called me that(especially girls i liked). thought i should pick a last name too so just picked something that ive used before and starts with the same letter as my real last name like my first name starts with the same letter of my real first name.

if anyone sees this and looks at my profile and pictures, please feel free to give any suggestions on any names u think i should have. I am actively lookin fo a name change

Mine came from using the first inital of my "nickname" and that brought to mind 60'S hollywood starlet Nanette Fabray. The Faye came from Alice Faye that was a great singer/actress in alot of 30'S & 40'S movie musicals. She had a marvelous voice, lower and sexier than most of the singers of her day. (Dates me, huh?)

NANETTE FAYE

Susie Mae
03-21-2010, 11:36 PM
I have been given many female names, always one at a time, always by a the one woman who is the dominant female in my life. When I am unfortunate not to have such a woman in real life, I pick my own name and create a suitable closet. Although I have had periods of years when I could not dress, could not have my closet at all, I have been freely dressing for the last twenty years.

Susie Mae was given to me years ago, while my wife and I were partying in the hill country of the Carolina's--where a lot of grown-up boys are cross-dressed by their wives as a means of controlling them. That's the biggest secret going 'round since the minister got drunk and fondled the Mayor's wife.

Katie1234
03-22-2010, 04:34 PM
I have 2. When I'm dessed more casually i'm Eve but more formal (like right now I'm in a red prom dress, pink makeup xcept lipstick red) Katie.

Sabrinasatin
03-22-2010, 05:43 PM
I named myself Sabrina because I think it's very feminine especially when used with my favourite material, satin.

dani-elle
03-22-2010, 09:19 PM
I chose Dani-elle because I've loved that name since highschool where a girl I was friends with was called Dani-elle. And I just think its a very sexy name.

After considering countless others (Aimee, Jackie, Christine), I decided to pick one from a list of popular names from the year I was born. Megan just jumped out at me immediatly. I like it because it kind of sounds good with my true last name. No I did not name myself after the Family Guy character.

SuzieQT
03-31-2010, 10:52 AM
I always liked the name Suzie because it sounds innocent. However now that I have finally purchased everything I need to fully dress I am considering switching it to something else.

Lexine
03-31-2010, 12:40 PM
My whole femme name is Alex Indigo. I'm fortunate enough to have a gender neutral name, and all I needed to add for my last name was a letter. Not "new" per say, but at least I got that out of the way to focus on my looks (not conceited btw!).

Soriya
03-31-2010, 02:16 PM
I never really stuck with a name but during my brief visit back into CD'ing in 20's, I liked Erica but now that I have a whole new perspective and will have fun exploring this side of me, I chose to start fresh and went with Soriya. I know someone with that name and always liked it, kind of sounds exotic. :o

deniseh
03-31-2010, 07:53 PM
My name "Denise" is the female variant of my given name "Dennis". Not very orginial but I identify with. I think it's pretty.

Tahiri
04-01-2010, 07:41 PM
Well I chose the name Tahiri because (and here's the point at which I show I am a geek  ) I am a big fan of Star Wars, but I didn't want one of the totally obvious names from the films. Although I am not entirely sure that I will stick with it, as I also like the name Jaina (Also from Star wars). Never really thought about a middle and last name for this side of me. If anyone has any suggestions that they feel go well with either of the names in this post, please feel free tolet me know.

My first name was a total fluke. It was the first time i was dressed out at a club and someone asked what my name was, I panicked and said the first name that poped into my head "tiffany". My midle name came from some friends who enjoyed the show NCIS as much as me and noticed the similarities between myself and a girl on the show "Abby", things like piercings, tattoos, very goth and neurotic lol.

PatyR
04-01-2010, 10:02 PM
No - I think my name was just always there, I've no idea where it came from. I love it though. Wouldn't change it for anything.

Sarah...

Yep! exactly that!:) I didn't have to think about it too much, it even came with a last name:o

Simply_Vanessa
04-02-2010, 05:00 AM
My male name is actually Hector. I tried for the longest time to learn to enjoy a name similar to mine but in female form, like Heather or Hannah. But all along...I just saw myself as a Vanessa :c9:

I wanted something that was simple, short, and worked in a couple different languages. Also, something that didn't sound anything like my male name. I thought about it a lot and then one day Maya came to me and I just liked it, it felt like me :battingeyelashes:. I might play around with the spelling of it, but I hope I'll be sticking to it.:D

Rachel89
04-04-2010, 11:11 PM
Rachel Karana Williams. That's my full en femme name. I have always loved the name Rachel & I chose Karana after the girl heroine of my all-time favorite book "Island Of The Blue Dolphins".

Kim Welcher
04-05-2010, 04:34 PM
"Kimberly Gale Welcher" is my whole female name, I chose it because each part of the name has the same number of syllables that my male name has.

Vivian Best
04-05-2010, 05:00 PM
Not real hard! I admired my mother-in-law so I took her name after she passed away.

tamarav
04-05-2010, 06:06 PM
I always admired the name Tamara and when I worked with a really great cosmetologist named Tamara many years ago it became my name as well.

Then I just came up with a last name...

Thumbelina
04-08-2010, 12:46 AM
A number of years ago when free chat rooms were still rockin' I endeavored to come up with a persona for a CD chatroom. The thought of expressing my female alter-ego online made me feel pretty and sexy, yet somewhat vulnerable and dimunitive - for some reason "Thumbelina" struck me as the perfect handle.

I've been through a few names. It was Heather when I was 16. I stopped dressing for a long time and I went by Nikki when I came back. However, I've decided that sounds too ****ty, so I went with the name of a GG that I know since its cute and simple -- Kiley Moore

STEFFICAPRI
04-10-2010, 08:36 PM
I chose my name because I always loved Stephanie Beecham when I was growing up, such a sexy classy lady and also I am a major Ford Capri lover.....so Steffi Capri :D

Angiemead12
04-11-2010, 07:44 PM
my favorite female is angelina jolie hence angie, and mead i picked up from my girlfriends name since she gave birth to me!

SandraAbsent
04-11-2010, 09:28 PM
Ok this is weird, but my name came from my avatar in Second Life. They don't let you make up your own last name, so I choose Absent from their list because I sometimes consider myself absent minded. Then Sandra just always just always seemed like a pretty name for me.

I am an oil painting portrait painter....I picked a name that goes with that theme....and another thing is I want my name to be okay to use if I was out chattting with other dressers, and they call me, I do not want heads to turn. So, the name I use is.......Drew

I was in a chat room chatting with other people when they asked my my femme name. I could never come up with a name that I really liked that I could stick with. So I asked for help and someone feminized my name Charles to Charline and it kinda stuck, I was called Charlie as a child so they are pretty close (though now I go by Chuck when I'm a man)

I chose the name of a girl I knew and liked in my childhood. I always thought she looked very good and she was born on the exact same date as I.

Amber Chen
04-15-2010, 09:14 AM
My fem name is "Amber Chen".

It came to me because, since I was a teen, I was fascinated by amber, the semiprecious stone. Especially Baltic amber, commonly mined or found in Lithuania, Latvia and other countries nearby the Baltic Sea. It is the resin oozed out by long extinct trees of 40 million years ago, and has been used in jewelry throughout human history. It comes in many colors, from nearly clear to white, green, honey yellow, and black. My favorite is the honey yellow. Amber frequently has "inclusions", things from the forest floor that got stuck in the resin before it hardened, which include leaves, twigs, insects, and even small animals (frogs, lizards). Our ancestors valued amber for its beauty as well as for its protective powers against evil, and its healing powers in herbal preparations.

I found several amber jewelry pieces that I really like and wear frequently: an amber pendant with a "starburst" inclusion, and two silver rings with amber center pieces (one has an insect inclusion!).

So, "Amber" I am. I started using it even while in "boy" mode, and only a few people questioned it.

The "Chen" I chose because it's a variation of my mother's maiden name (which will remain secret!).

Initially I thought Catherine was a good name but it seemed too cold to me. Then I went with Cate for awhile, but an irl Cate I knew ruined that for me. And finally I settled on trying to figure out a name that mimicked my name and its relation to my personality. End Result: Abby.

My boy name is Cody (which I considered keeping) btw.

I used to use the feminized version of my name, but then after I broke up with my girlfriend, I kinda stopped dressing for about a year or so. When I started up again, I just sorta decided that I needed a new name.

There was one day where I was brainstorming ideas. My mind kinda wandered around a bit and then I thought about River, (like River Tam from Firefly, I am a nerd and proud of it :D). I decided that the name was a little too nature-y, so the next logical jump gave me Summer. Then, quite independently on the same day, my friend said that Summer was one of her favorite girl names, so it kinda stuck.

The really funny part is that it wasn't until after I made that decision that I remembered that the character River was played by Summer Glau.

I wish I could give an answer to this- I first dressed and felt better being a girl younger than I can still remember. I always felt like Tanya was right. I guess Lynn became a middle name somewhere along the line, because it sounded right, and Im 51. I guess that works.

I dabbled with Auburn Audrey for a while, after my first wig, which was Auburn. When I decided to pick a proper name for myself, I thought about Lisa or Monica, but decided to go with Margaret, after seing myself in the mirror one day. Margaret was a woman who once worked at the same place as me. She is 10 years older than me and an attractive woman, who has a great pair of legs, and looks great in a pencil skirt. I was femmed up one day and put on a new wig I had just bought. It was Auburn as well, but a different style from the one mentioned above. I put it on, looked in the mirror, and was taken by surprise, as I thought I looked a bit like Margaret. The J is the initial of another woman I know, and I needed to add something to Margaret to register on various forums. I personally feel better having a name based on someone real, rather than a fictional one.

Katari
04-28-2010, 06:40 PM
I got mine from My ex's Daughter Heather.
I have been troubled all my computer life with a nic.
Heather had an excellent one so I asked her how she came up with it. Apparently it was the plant name in Japanese and it was soooo eligent. I asked her to help me pick one out and after a few days trying she finally came up and called me Katari. I am not sure if she caught me one night at the computer or not as I often wore tights heels and a dress or skirt with a male sweater at night at the computer with no lights on. But I asked here how and where she came up with the name. I was told it is Japanese. I googled it and found out it was a female Japanese name.
I liked it so I kept it ;-)

04-29-2010, 06:20 PM
I realize I posted here already, but recent events have forced my hand to change my femme nickname due to some female friends insisting that I change the name to be a bit more different than my male name.

So moving forward, my nick name is now "Lexi," but anyone can still call me by my birth name which is "Alex."

05-01-2010, 02:41 PM
As for me, Sandy was actually the name of one of my sister's dolls. I used to play with this doll when I was alone at home. I wanted to look like her!

Souns pretty cliche lol :)

Julezz
05-01-2010, 11:52 PM
I've always loved the name "Julia" and just thought it was really pretty and classic. But I don't want to be "classic" yet, so i go by "Jules"

Annalise
05-03-2010, 02:21 PM
I chose the Annalise simply because I thought it was the most beautiful name. I like the name Ana and the end of Annalise makes it sound sensual almost. I'm hispanic so I wanted to go down that route as well. :)

Elexia
05-03-2010, 09:48 PM

Miley
05-08-2010, 07:57 PM
My wife named me Miley. We had been watching Hannah Montana (...The best of both worlds....is the theme song) In the TV series Honna Montana is a super star that everyone knows, but her true identity is Miley that familey and friends know her as. She does this so she can live a normal life without being surround by fans all the time. This is the reason why my name is Miley as Miley is my real inner self that only my wife knows and my other boy name is the name that everyone else knows. This way.....I get the best of both worlds.

Nancie64

Picked this name since a girl at our local bank is hot and the name sounded right. Have altered it now to Nancie, which I feel sounds just a little more fem and my SO likes it better since this would be the only Nancie she likes to spend time with: daydreaming:

Kat42
05-16-2010, 03:47 AM
I haven't actually picked out a fem name for myself. It seems pointless when I'm the only one in the room.

Kat comes from an '80s date movie "Mystic Pizza". I'm a cat person and liked the shortened version of Kathy. Kat was not allowed or already allocated. The 42 is a HHGG reference most any scifi dweeb will recognize [mee too].

There was a name referenced in an old song I liked as a girls name but I couldn't recall upon signing in. Upon further thought I think it was "Kayleigh" and the song was by "Marillion". I'm probably better off with the "Kat" signon!

Blake Lively

My mom calls me Catherine, when my niece was a baby and spoke caveman she would call me cat or cati, so i kept katie, and the bunny part due to the fact that i have a cleaning problem and i tend to clean my home super fast so i got dubbed bunny as in the energizer bunny:D

My middle name is James. So i tried to come up with something that would be close to it. I came up with Jasmine or Jamie for short. I write a lot too, and one of my characters last name is Everson, liked it, used it. Jamie Everson.^-^

Jean Dressler
05-27-2010, 05:49 AM
I took my first name Jean very early on in my crossdressing life. As was the norm when and where I was growing up clothes were passed around the extended family as they were outgrown by their original owner and siblings. I was fortunate to get from my favourite female cousin my first pair of denim jeans – hence Jean. My surname comes from the fact that I like to dress – hence the Dress with the little flourish “ler” and so Jean Dressler was conceived.

The day I came out to my mom, we talked a long time and she told me she would have named me Alexis, had I been born a girl. I took Jean as my middle name (my moms middle name) and I've lived in Colorado my whole life, so West seemed to fit.

Mom likes having another 'daughter'

And thats how AJ came about

JainaCarpaccio
06-09-2010, 03:58 PM
Not reallysure why I finally settled on Jaina to be honest. My real name is really pretty masculine, and couldn't be feminized all that easily, so I had to find something that just fit. Jaina does for me. As for the last name I've chose for being en femme, well that I actually owe to SL. I was making a profile so i could get out as a cd at least some where, and well i came across SL, First name i naturally wen twith Jaina as I'd chosen at that point. The last name is randomly chosen for you, Carpaccio came up, and for it just fit.

Virgin_CD
06-13-2010, 01:07 PM
Lots of fantasies run thru my head... but my actions are limited because I am (Happily) married. She is a wonderful wife of 15 years so I could never "Cheat on her". I told her about my CD persona last week and she took it well (so far). SO... A Virgin CD is what I am and will always be... It isn't the most beautiful name, that's for sure. But the beauty is inside. Outside is the fun "Virgin". MaybeI shold change it to Virginia? But then some people would think that put me geographically in VA?

lyta
06-13-2010, 03:02 PM
I needed a femme nickname at one of the first sites i visited en femme. I had a feel that I am really a "Laura" -- but that happened to be taken of course and my second try was Lyta.

Lyta is a fictional character from a TV (*television* ;) ) series that I loved many years ago. She is a very sympathetic character who never really manage to really fit in with "the establishment" for certain reasons, people find her a bit intimidating and scary because her traits are unfamiliar and unnatural to them. She finds close friends among a group of likes, who largely keeps to themselves to avoid conflicts with the rest of society.

Some time after I picked her name as a nickname I realized the parallel with my own life -- or at least the way I imagine my life could have been if I had lived the way I want.

The story continues though: Partially due to her choice to join this group of reclusive half-rebels and refugees, the fictional Lyta finds herself on a journey that changes her life. She becomes a very strong, very determined woman who comes to play a crucial role in the drama. In the end she becomes a person who is respected for what she is and free to live her life as she pleases.

Only time will tell how far the parallell will stretch. :)

I am happy with Lyta as a nickname. At the very least, it is fairly unique. Whether it will stick or whether I will find another one the day I step out remains to be seen. I guess it is a bit like children: When they are born they sometimes come with a name of their own, and the name you finally had worked out during the last 9 months will just have to give way.

Oh, and btw: It is pronounces with a sharp 'y', like in 'yellow' or the German ü. Also known as the "close front rounded wovel". :)

My real name is Brian and when I was a kid I remember some kids calling me Briana to be spiteful. They knew a girl in our school with that name and they decided it was funny to call me that. Anyway, that is just what I have always gone by.

LaraCreaft
06-20-2010, 01:14 AM
I picked Lara, because it's the name of my first crush, and Creaft just sounds cool. No story behind those names, just needed a name for this site.

LisaTaylor
06-20-2010, 11:50 AM
I always liked the name Lisa - simple, yet feminine. The last name comes from a girl I had a crush on in high school.

My name is Allison since it's the name my youngest brother would have had if he'd been born a girl. So, I'm the girl my parents never had.

Valintime
06-27-2010, 03:27 PM
The shortened version just came to me one day, I just knew my femme self was Val. A while later my girlfriend called me Valerie when she got mad at me, and I knew that was not right. There aren't many other names that come Val, so I settled on Valentine, but its mostly just Val. No idea for a last name, and I probably won't work on a middle name.

Also, the screen name came from an accidental misspelling that I really liked, because as I figure things out I will become even more Val, in time.

MichelleBrantin
06-27-2010, 07:26 PM
I went with a name that was similar to my guy name, plus when it sounds similar when someone says it it catches your attention right away.

Selena Bright
06-28-2010, 12:46 PM
I chose Selena because the moon's light is reflected light, and this metaphor seems to resonate with me because of the way that feminine clothing and make-up bring light into my soul. The problem with metaphors is that they are hard to explain. So is my gender identity.

Marcella Camira
06-29-2010, 02:01 AM
Because Joan Jett, has such sexy eyses. I just like her attitude!:)

Allyson Michelle
06-29-2010, 06:00 AM
One of my best female friends in high school. we did everything together. we don't really keep in touch anymore but I just loved her name. so i kinda stole it. Allyson with a y instead of an i. That's why I was so intrigued by it.

Allyson means of noble birth - FYI

The middle name, Michelle, is just something I've adopted in my trials of finding a good middle name. LOL!

If i do decide to transition (highly contemplating it) I will adopt my male name (Ryan) as my last name because i hate my last name!

so Allyson Michelle Ryan. has a ring to it huh?

Outside is the fun "Virgin". MaybeI shold change it to Virginia? But then some people would think that put me geographically in VA?

What's wrong with Virginia? I'm in VA!

It took a while but after the first time my wife got me to dress in front of her and she agreed to do some makeup for me... She looked at me for a while and concluded that a suitable name would be Chloe.

Jenny Doolittle
06-30-2010, 07:12 AM
I choose Jenny Doolittle.

Jenny because I have always loved that name but more importantly is the last name Doolittle. Growing up, I was much like so many others, tormented because I had two personalities, one male and one female pulling in opposite directions.

The movie "Dr Doolittle" had a fictional animal called a "push-me pull-me" that had two heads on the same body, (looked a bit like a two headed donkey) Anyway it was always stuck going nowhere because each end was trying to go forward. That was how I felt.
I took the last name Doolittle as a result.

I am happy to report that my two personalities heave merged to some degree and I am enjoying who I am now. I think it is important to accept who you are and move forward with life. It is scary to be different, but at the same time you get to enjoy life just a little bit differently the the rest of the world!
:)

Ashely
07-01-2010, 01:44 AM
My first name easy as I have always liked Ashely. My middle name came from a beautiful female wrestler and it is also the name I gave my car as well, because her hair is red and so is my cars color.

Ashely

Mikaela
07-01-2010, 03:11 PM
I don't use one. At least currently and not sure I need to (yet). The fem version of my male name would be Michelle but that is my sisters middle name and she goes by shelly. I suppose I could go by mikaela. It wasn't popular in my birth year but is now. I also like my grandmothers names of Emma and Elizabeth. In the past I've called my fem self Beth, but it wasn't an identity per se, just a label.

CDKaitlynn
07-01-2010, 05:27 PM
I picked Kaitlynn because I thought it sounded cute and sexy and the same time. I am not sure of the specifics of why I picked it. Other names that I really like are:

Jennifer
Brandy
Chelsea
Tammy
Stephanie

Hey, maybe someone else has an opinion on this. Out of all the names that I considered I wanted to pick on that I had little connection with, or predisposition to. For instance, I did not want a name of a girl that I had previously dated or had a crush on, no relatives or close friends, as well as noone that I was not particularly fond of... I wanted to make it my own identity and let it evolve naturally.

Does that make sense?

Kaity

TinaCD34
07-01-2010, 10:30 PM
I picked Tina because I have always liked that name

D Elizabeth
07-02-2010, 09:56 AM
I chose my name because it is the name of a long dead relative, who was a lesbian, but was never able to "come out", because she lived in the 1800's. She was also a musician, and I have felt a connection with her on that level ever since I was a very young child. I like to flatter myself that she would have approved of my tansgender characteristics.

Randeee
07-02-2010, 03:07 PM
My real name is Randy so I just changed the "Y" to ee

CallMeMeg
07-07-2010, 06:19 AM
I originally used "Kim" because my wife suggested it and I wanted her to be as comfortable with this as possible (she isn't).

I chose Meg after the name came to me during a past-life regression.

I tried Jill, but it never felt right. I don't particularly like my birth name either.

Mikaela
07-07-2010, 11:23 AM
I don't use one. At least currently and not sure I need to (yet). The fem version of my male name would be Michelle but that is my sisters middle name and she goes by shelly. I suppose I could go by mikaela. It wasn't popular in my birth year but is now. I also like my grandmothers names of Emma and Elizabeth. In the past I've called my fem self Beth, but it wasn't an identity per se, just a label.

Yesterday when the site was down I created a yahoo account enfemme and used Mikaela as the name, so I guess that decided that.

I've likes Penelope and Marie for a while. however when i take the real plunge and change this body i will most likely stick with my real name which is Rickey and simply change the spelling to Rickie. i have a character on second life i named Rickie Crystal and i like that very much so i may go with that

Kelly.
07-13-2010, 03:54 PM
Picked Kelly because my guy name starts with a "K" as well so writing it isn't that much different.
I also don't know anyone personally with the name of Kelly so there is no awkward situation waiting to happen.

jemima_bates
07-14-2010, 12:42 PM
I'm Jemima Bates.

Jemima because

1) I'm a gem
2) It starts with the same letter as my real first name
3) I think it makes me sound like a posh girl (which I'm not, really)
and most importantly
4) I love the shortened form 'Mimi' so much, and wanted a name that could be shortened.

Jemima or Mimi, I don't really mind. Love both.

Bates because

No idea!

Fun reading through some of you other girls' reasons.... Some nice stories too.

Rio
07-18-2010, 04:35 PM
Hi! The name I use here at the Website comes from the title of an 80’s pop song, the music from back then reminds me of when I was growing up (and of a time when I was perhaps braver!) and when I would go out to thrift stores and shop for clothes and when I was becoming more conscious of dressing-up.

My male given name has a few corresponding feminine ones which I quite like although I often see some exotic names which I think I would prefer, I guess I haven’t really decided there are so many nice names to choose from I guess I should jot them all down and make a list of favorites and try to pick out the one I really like! For the moment I think I’ll stick with Rio :daydreaming:

Leyna
07-18-2010, 11:56 PM
From the Billy Joel song "All for Leyna." In the song, Leyna haunted Billy and ruined his life. He just couldn't get her out of his mind. And I haven't been able to get this girly thing out of my mind since I was eight! When I finally gave in to her, I named her "Leyna." :)

Kathryn Martin

I have often and for a long time thought of myself as Martina, it's the feminized version of my actual name. I love it and so does my wife

Jasmine Raven
07-19-2010, 12:39 PM
I picked the name Jasmine because it's close to my actual name (James) and I think its a very pretty name

Davina Diamond
07-20-2010, 11:53 AM
I picked Davina as my first name is David and the Diamond was just a little elegant touch as a surname plus I think 'Dee Dee' is a wicked nickname using the Initials.

KeiraC
07-21-2010, 06:02 AM
Emily has always been and still is my favorite female name. I think it has the same boring ring but potential as my real name. But, I know this might be childish, a few months ago I was playing a video game and I always put the same user name (male name) but once I thought, I'll change it up. Actually looked up common female names and almost on a whim put Keira. The next line was "So you're Keira!" and I don't know it just kind of clicked for me. Just being addressed as Keira (I know this might sound pathetic) even on the game made me smile. When I first saw that I thought, I could be called this over and over and I don't think it would ever get old.

So I picked it not neccessarily cause it fit me, I didn't want something too elaborate or attention grabing but because being called that genuinely made me happy or fullfilled and I think that's a big part of dressing up in the first place. It just made sense.

Ms Deidre
07-25-2010, 06:50 AM
I tried a couple of names early on but none really grabbed me. I blossomed in the 80's as a woman and the actress that really got to me was Deidre Hall. The hair, the figure, and everything about her just screamed femininity so I said that is who I want to be like so I decided to becom her namesake. I added Elizabeth as my middle name because when I was in school there was this one girl named Elizabeth who was the prettiest and smartest and I thought what better to be than my benchmark of femininity and the smartest and prettiest thus Deidre Elizabeth. :daydreaming:

Ashley Jade
07-25-2010, 02:52 PM
I dunno, I guess I just thought about a bunch of diff names and Ashley just kinda stuck out. Daniel is my real middle name.

Rondalake
07-25-2010, 07:07 PM
Hi Kimberly Marie,

I decided on my female name for several reasons. First of all was a very practical reason. My given male name is Ronnie. I'm deaf in the right ear and I thought I could hear better if someone called me by my real name. I just changed the spelling of "Ronnie" to "Roni". Secondly, I met a woman who's name was "Roni" and I had never heard of it used as a female name and spelled that way. And finally, like you I think its what my mother would have named me if I had been born a girl.

Hugs,
Roni L.

Penny is a sweet name.

A female name is serious, from the moment you say out loud my name is micky. You are no longer a man you are woman. You may think i am dressing in womens cloths just for fun,the turn-on, but you have the persona of woman which grows stronger. Your desire for compleatness is open and ongoing.

Mine is the feminized version of Daniel. I merely took out the "el (which is spanish for him)!" :)

Anna Maria
07-29-2010, 11:40 PM
I chose mine because I once married a woman of the same name who was very much against my TG tendencies, so much so she divorced me. This is a pathetic attempt at petty, ironic revenge but there ya go! :tongueout

Roxy because I always thought it was a fairly sexy nickname for a girl and just kind of makes it a little silly. She's pretty spirited after all.

I must say that Pipi Longstocking was a very erotic image to me in my younger days. Not sure why, but might have had to do with the hose she wore. ;)

My sweet Paisley gave me my name some time ago, but most of the time I go by my androgynous name: Pat

I chose not to use the name my parents would have named me if I came out a girl, for some reason it didn't feel right. Demmy
08-06-2010, 08:26 AM
Hi everyone,

My name is Demmy and this is my very first post.

My name evolved over frustration and nothing else. I wanted to call myself Emanon Emy or Emmy but on other forums everyone seemed to have beaten me to it. Emanon is actually "No Name" spelt backwards. After being knocked back several hundred times I decided on Demanton (Not Named) and I had a lot more success. My nick for Dematon is Demmy. I think it's a really nice sexy name and something easy for people to roll off their lips. I'm happy with it and I'm sticking with it.

Glad to be here!

Although I usually sign in as Satinamour for my love of satin, my nom de plume is Leila after a beautiful girl I knew in college. Although I have heard it pronounced Leela and Layla, the one I like best sounds like Lee - eye - la, emphasis on the "eye."

i think that I need to get ten posts to be a fully priveleged member. I used a wierd name to get on this site. It started with my given middle name and let it run out into some convenient ending. My father named all of his sons, and did not share his method with his wife and he passed before I got around to wondering. If I ever get enough posts, I am going to do what I can to make my fem name Eunice. I think I have or had a relative with that name. I don't what happens when I submit, but I guess that I wil

I just have to comment on your lil avatar/pic of the Victorian/Edwardian lady, its gorgeous & emotive. I love the late 19th, early 20th century time periods for the fashions.

Oh..and as for names - I don't actually have an alternative name...yet. Though, I've used Alice as part of my email address for a decade - it was a personal in-joke as I used to (& still do) identify with Alice from good old wonderland. Mainly because I'm always going into flights of fancy, being flippant & imagining things whilst at work...& because I liked her blue dress. Naturally. Who doesn't? lol.

Other then Alice, I very much like the name Matilda - it just feels heavy with a Victorian air of large beautiful dresses, steamships & porcelain dolls. The name sounds mechanical & tomboyish to me too. And as I like wearing dresses whilst exploring abandoned factories & such...I feel it kinda goes well :-p

Good question btw! Theres some interesting answers and some kooky names, like Knox Thundercliff & Tomara. Epic. :-)

Well my mom thought I would be a girl but I was born as a boy. She had a name picked out for me but I didn't chose that name. I chose the name my grandmother used to call me when I was a small child. She didn't like my real name so she just called me Jamie which is the name she had suggested for my mom to name me when I was born. Jamie is a unisex name anyways and it almost matches up perfectly to my name on my drivers license.

My name has a strange story, actually.

So my roommates, who I accidentally let slip that I was a crosdresser one drunken night, were very accepting of my crossdressing. I have not given my female self a name yet. So one night I was all dressed up, and one of my roommates says that there was this friend they had that just got back from study abroad that I was going to meet. I didn't want him to see me the way I was, considering the fact that I am only into women and I didn't want him to go into a trans panic of sorts. I don't consider myself attractive, but other men have weird tastes in women. So I didn't want to be hit on. My roommate gave me courage and said we're just going to go there and have some fun.

I went, and my roommate says, "Your name is....Tina. You're a second year Poli Sci major." I agreed and laughed about it. So the whole night, I played shy and coy and it was totally awesome because HE COULDN'T GUESS. It was great. So I kept Tina, because of how accepting my roommates were. It's so great having a name too because if we're in a public place and they want to refer to my female self, they just say, "Oh, Tina might wan this," or something like that. Works well.

Dani is a shortened version of my male name. I chose Fay as my middle name for two reasons -- 1) A Friend Who Knows (I always feel that phrase should be capitalized) once said I was getting my "Dani Ferocious" on, a reference to Beyonce's Sasha Fierce alter-ego; 2) because I had the "F" starting point, I started looking up F names, and liked the way "Dani Fay" ran so... smoothly.

Niki-
08-15-2010, 04:45 PM
Never really had a "name" throughout my teenage years but a couple select people who did not know about "me" could get away with calling me "Nicky" as my name is Nick. When I started thinking about a name I just went with it but changed the spelling to Niki. It's stuck since and it's good for people who do know "her" because she can be talked about near people who don't know. "How's Niki?", "Oh Niki might like this", etc.

It's only recently that I began to think of my feminine side as a personna. I had resisted the idea before, but the male name was beginning to grate on my ears while trying to be en femme. I decided that having a femme name was like putting on any other article of women's clothing. I chose Sophie first because in Greek it means wisdom, and I am a lover of wisdom, and second because it has a soft feminine sound to it. :battingeyelashes:
