I had never given much thought to it until I considered joining CD.com. Then I realized my femme name was predetermined. First name femme version of my male name (kept to honor my uncle who gave his life in Vietnam and my grandma who made a deal with the Virgin Mary for my mothers life, so the legend goes...) 1st gen. Mary 2nd gen Marie, 3 gen. Unknown, I'm sure I'll get an earfull if/when I have a daughter...

Bradlie
09-17-2012, 02:18 AM
Well, the name I would have been given if I were to have been born a girl went to my step-sister's oldest daughter, and I just didn't feel right about using my nieces name, as she is a person who already exists and soooo not me. When I was younger I used to believe I wanted to be a Britney or a Tiffany, but I grew out of those.
Then a couple of years ago when I started browsing here and really giving serious thought to it I remembered a girl I once knew, Brad, she was about 5-7 years older than me and while she had a "boys" name and mostly hung out as one of the guys, she was very feminine in appearance, beautiful hair, nice body, very girly-girl with her clothes, but very rough and tumble, not afraid to get dirty kinda gal. Kinda like my mom actually, perfect hair, flawless makeup and all while riding a dirt bike out in the woods. So that's who I decided I wanted to be, only I thought Bradlie sounded a little prettier.

Miss Trudy
09-18-2012, 01:27 AM
Over the 50 plus years I have been dressing I have gone through a few names, Kathy in he beginning, then that got boring so I did a few more. Finally about 25 years ago when I really got serious about things I gave the name a long hard think through. I realize the most influential female in my life ad been my grandmother, so in her honor I took her name, Gertrude then I added Katherine as a middle name. I realize that Gertrude is quite the old fashioned name and although my femme credit cards read that I use the nickname Trudy. I only hope I have become a lady Grandma would have been proud of!

Never really gave it much thought until recently when i decided to embrace this side of me. Been hidden for a long time. Still havnt come out to anyone, but thats another story, to which i am going to post soon. But as far as the name, it just sounded good. I thought of a few and it came down to Stacey or Emily and since i needed a name to log on here, i decided on Stacey. But i like emily as a middle name except thats to many "y's" lol. Xoxox

Stephanie is sooo close to my masculine name that it justed seamed like a logical choice. I have always liked the name Rebecca, so I use that as my middle name. So my initials are SRS.

This was the name of a girl I admired when I was in my teens. She always wore the prettiest clothes, cute and FEMININE.
Mostly lovely skirts and tops along with stockings, very seldom slacks. Gee I would have Loved to had her wardrobe, better yet, Shared her wardrobe with her.

Hi everyone,
My first name is Bridget, I picked that because that name is very close to the name of someone near and dear to me. My last name is Sterling... I picked that because that is the name of my favorite chardonnay. If you are a wine drinker, I highly recommend it!
So.. Bridget Sterling. I like it, I think it sounds "real." Could be the name of a heroine in a novel or something :P Haven't thought of a middle name yet though..
ArleneRaquel

Bridget, IMHO Marie is a lovely middle name. Welcome to the forum darlin.

09-20-2012, 06:13 AM
I chose my name because i've always liked the name Katie, it feels to me like a feminine name and i like the way the letter K looks when written down. I chose the surname of Taylor because it's not an overly masculine sounding surname, it's not an unusual name either. It also fits nicely with Katie.

Marja what I would have been called if I had been born a girl
Beth Cooper
09-21-2012, 03:00 PM
Would a rose by any other name not smell as sweet?
Ok now on to the story, a long time ago in a land far far away I was involved in a little group of new age type people, and my spirit guide's name was Beth. Of course I'm not so sure about all that stuff today and pefer to think of it as more phsycosematic than anything else, however the name Beth seemed to stick so when I meet other CD's and joined a local CD group, Beth became my name. The Cooper part is really a recent addition and quite simply because I'm a huge Alice Cooper fan, so I stole the name, nothing surprising their. The other reason why I kept the name Beth is because all the CD's I met seemed to base their names on their male names, and I thought why do that? If your creating a new person, then why not choose a name thats completely different rather than one thats similar to your male name, but hay whatever, needless to say thats the story to Beth Cooper.

I just saw this thread and thought I would join in:
Michael is Miki
Arata is my surname shortened and illiterated a tad.
If I ever get out en femme and someone calls me by my girl name, I don't want to have to think too much to answer to Miki, rather than Sally, Jasmine or Joan.
But, but unlike Beth above, I don't think I am creating a new person; just a feminine me.

Angela Campbell
09-22-2012, 05:52 PM
When I decided on a female name I didn't have to think too long. I wanted a name I could easily respond to if my name was called out in a crowd. Growing up my name was Alan, so I decided on Ellen, it sounds similar and I find it easily works for me. Actually growing up if someone in a crowded room shouted out "ELLEN" I would turn my head to see.
Actually though my Mother told me she was hoping for a girl and if I had been I would have been named Paige.
So Ellen Paige is my name. and I am almost a Lady.

If I'm reborn as a girl, I want this name. Call me Sha, it allures me.
Kay Sterling
09-24-2012, 03:07 PM
My fem name came from a couple of sources Kay was a girl in high school i always wanted to date. Sterling was a beautiful teacher I had....Since the first letter of my real name starts with K ,I always signed memos at work K.

Megan Briana
09-24-2012, 11:23 PM
I have always liked the name Megan. I think that will be the one. I knew a girl named Megan in grade school and at the time she was the most beautiful girl i had ever saw, besides Princess Leia. Now, these days, I am trying to be the most beautiful girl I see in the mirror. Megan, it is. Megan Brianna
EllenJo
09-27-2012, 08:00 AM
Ellen was the name of a girl from my high school that I truly admired. I never dated her but was a friend, she just dressed perfectly (this was back in the day when girls had to wear skirts or dresses to school). She never knew that I really admired her taste in clothes. When I registered here I added the Jo to make it unique. My wife has recently refered to me a Susie Homemaker when I am in cleaning and cooking mode. If she had done that sooner I might have gone a different way. If this continues I may make a change. Yesterday when I was washing the walls in the guest bedroom she called me Susie. She knows that I dress but we are in a DADT type of situation. I think I am going to just tell her that when I am in Susie mode I am going to wear a skirt. Not fully dress, just wear a skirt for comfort and see what happens. If she accepts Susie that way, I will get serious about the name again.

sinderella
10-01-2012, 04:20 PM
The girl name I use is Sindee, I wanted that as my user name here but it was already in use. So I chose Sinderella because who knows what could happen to this fiesty gal after midnight ;-) Sindee was my ex-wifes stage name as a stripper many years ago, I carry it in admiration of her spirit and mindset of not caring what other people think.
Diane Maple
10-01-2012, 06:51 PM
I know my fist name has always been Diane. Dressed for a long time just for fun by myself. Just throwing on what fit me from the woman I was with... When I finally purchased my own clothes and dressed for the first time... I looke in the mirror and just said.. hello Diane.
As for a last name I am at a loss... I want it to say something about me.... I'm a mex / white mix. Dark brown hair, hazel eyes... I'll add a profile pic next time I get dressed. I still haven't one out... I want a name that isn't harsh sounding.... Something that allows people to remember me but, not too common...... Ug... What's in a name :)
.... Oh, I found my last name :-) Maple, it wasn't lost, just hiding.
CorsetAngel
10-01-2012, 07:29 PM
Well, I choose CorsetAngel, for my username, because I Love wearing Corset's and I like Angels. But as for an actual Female name. Well I was hoping maybe I could get you girls to help me out with that.
I was thinking either Kimberly (Because that would have been my given name, if I was born a biological girl) or Kathrine, and simply just go by Katie, because I kinda like that name. Plus, I Love What Katie Did lingerie from the UK. Thoughts? Suggestions?

10-02-2012, 11:51 AM
Love this question. I chose the name Erika with a k :) because I had a babysitter when I was a kid and her name was Erika. She was so cute, she was 16 and she would always dress very feminine. She always had her makeup done, and her nails, I can still remember her lipstick :). I remember back then i either had a major crush on her or i totally wanted to be her, or her younger sister :) I also chose the last Name Kerrie because one of the first Tgirls I ever met was named Kerrie.
tammi2391
10-02-2012, 12:41 PM
I chose the name Tammi because I worked with this very beautiful girl named Tammi. It was when I was starting to venture out and go shopping in public and I love her name so I use it when I dress.

How does everyone chose a last name? The first name was easy because I have always loved the name Maya. I also love the name Sasha and may change to that some day.

10-04-2012, 06:36 AM
Names are wonderful expressions of our souls. I choose Holly because i love Christmas and the wonderful memories associated with it. I chose Lee as a last name because i am a big Bruce Lee fan. Odd choices i know, but they just flow when you say them.

Trishasubcd
10-06-2012, 07:07 AM
I had a few different names over the years. I started with one Julie when I was in my early twenties but my girlfriend broke up with me when I came out to her...it was crushing at the time but from that day forward I decided that I would tell my future girlfriends early on in the realationship to insure that I did not waste either person's time. Needless to say many years later (ups and downs) I ended up with a wonderful wife and my current name Trisha.
jennyc4u
10-10-2012, 06:23 AM
i chose jenny cotell as it was the name of the first girl other than my mother whose clothes i wore. she was my gf when i was about 16 and had the sexiest goth clothes you could imagine. the name jenny or jen just seems to fit my femme ness
mike2destiny
10-10-2012, 02:32 PM
i picked destiny for my name i think is sounds unique
Lady Catherine
10-10-2012, 10:07 PM
Catherine sounded so lady like and proper. And I can shorten it to Cat if I want to be ****ty or more flirty. And Lagere is my Grandmothers maiden name and I wanted to honor the strongest woman I ever knew.
Lucy Lou
10-11-2012, 07:58 AM
I chose Lucy Lou. It didn't take long to decide it just sort of happened. I would go so far as to say that the name chose me. I feel totally right as Lucy Lou and it is not going to change. Lucy Lou
Layla Michelle
10-11-2012, 02:35 PM
Very tough decision for me. Its between Paula (aka Paul), or Layla (I love Clapton's song), or Tiffany (a girl that helped me not feel weird trying on shoes). Who knows, I may use a different name for each wig. (I have 3)
miss robyn
10-11-2012, 11:34 PM
I chose Robyn, because that was the name my mother would of named me if I was born GG. I like it, I don't think I could pick a better name
Celia
10-14-2012, 12:21 AM
I chose Celia from a baby-names website. I had recently started attending meetings at Ingersoll Gender Center and the people I met there suggested I might want to find a femme name that I would be comfortable with. I didn't care for the popular names, so I looked for mine under Shakespearean names. I'm named for a character from As You Like It. Also, I liked the way the name sounded. So there it is - 11 years later.:)
Courtneigh
10-14-2012, 12:35 AM
Courtneigh from a girl with the same name who was a looker and it is so close to my one and only my absolute favourite brand of cigarettes wich is a very sexy cigarette....Courtleigh.... of London.....nowadays it is made by Dunhill.

Pretty Nails
10-15-2012, 09:39 PM
I have finally made up my mind - at least about the first name.
Victoria. One of the prettiest girls I ever met many many years ago. Plus I thought it would be creepy to use my wife's name :) - also a super pretty lady.
I never dated her, although we did have one dinner together, but she stuck with me.
So world here I am. Victoria.

10-16-2012, 09:20 AM
I use the name Maggie because years ago(too many ) I had a friensdship with an older lady who helped me dress and sugguested the name.Ive never thought of changing it.
ChristineReid
10-16-2012, 03:22 PM
This will probably sound really weird - but I have experimeted with several names and finally settled on Christine Reid. When I analysed it some time afterwards it parse (tech term - sorry I'm an engineer) as Christ In (i.e. a part of me that reflected a deeper spiritual part of my "the Christ consiousness"), Re (God) Id (the unconscious). Whether this really means anything is anyone's guess! Cx
Dawn cd
10-16-2012, 03:28 PM
My birth name is Don, but when I was in business people would sometimes mis-hear my name and send letters addressed to "Ms. Dawn Smith." I figured it was a sign...
Marissa V
10-16-2012, 07:33 PM
I got my name from my girlfriend, didnt pick it myself. And it kinda felt like a rebirth since my girlfriend is the one that transformed me full femme for the first time. A bit like she made me, she got to name me. :D
tammysmiles
10-16-2012, 09:07 PM
I chose Tammy because it's a play on my legal name and I've always been fond of it.
BillieJoEllen
10-17-2012, 11:38 AM
My first name is Bill. I dressed as a colonial girl for Halloween when I was in the fifth grade. My teacher always called me Bill. After she guessed who I really was she had everyone call me 'Miss Billie' that day. After Halloween she continued calling me 'Billie'. Even years later she still called me 'Billie'.
When I signed up for this room I couldn't just use 'Billie'. I thought long and hard about what to add to my name so that I could join here. I thought of a girl I knew in highschool (one of the most feminine I have ever known) and decided to add her first name to the end of mine. Finally I was accepted here.

Reversing my given and surname seemed fitting as I was reversing my gender.
CandyDawn
10-18-2012, 07:27 PM
Mine was given to me by my wife. She used to have a fantasy about a girl named Candy and it just stuck. I guess it was fitting she named me as she started it.

Deedee Skyblue
10-22-2012, 07:49 PM
Back in the Compuserve days, I went by the handle BlueSatin - blue is my favorite color. But in person I was always Deedee. I joined another forum about 2 years ago, and they wanted first and last names. So I tried Bluesky - but there already was a Deedee Bluesky there. So it became Deedee Skyblue. Deedee does not refer to my bust! :battingeyelashes:
LelaK
10-23-2012, 01:32 AM
Online I've used Julie or Julia (from "redhead" Julia Roberts), Ell, for "L" (which is my initial), Dolly (which has double L), and now Lela K (because Lela has 2 L's and because I like the Futurama character by that name, a weird one-eyed, but beautiful purple-haired, smart and strong woman). (The K in Lela K is for my surname, but the surname I've been using online is Kelly, which also has the double L.)

I liked the name Sasha and my fiance liked the name Jade. So we put them together.
Bianca Bourdeux
10-24-2012, 11:52 AM
I wanted a name that was exotic, as my adventures while dressed tend to be exciting. Bianca fit the bill for me very well. I added a last name a few years later, but, I rarely use it. Bianca is a fairly uncommon name so I can usually get away with just going by one name...kinda like Madonna but much cooler!
CharlotteX
10-26-2012, 01:13 AM
I don't usually feel it necessary to pick out a "female name" because I don't see much a separation between a female self and a male self of mine. It's always fun to think about, though! Whenever I get it in my head to pick one, it's always a city... hence Charlotte. But hey, it could very well be London, Sydney, or Phoenix. :P
Aubergine
10-26-2012, 10:29 AM
“Aubergine Angiolini” My chosen name, given by me for me. “Why?” I’m a very visual person (photographer by trade). I’m stimulated by the colours of deep purple to the lighter hues it embodies, no wonder it is the preferred colour for Royalty. The shapes also attract me; in my subconscious mind they are sensuous, and seductive. Guess that’s why it’s French! The European’s attached many superstitions to it as well. Insanity was one, and my experiments within the world of cross-dressing have been dubbed just that by some.
Mad Apple was the name they used. Spain came closer to my heart in the 16th century, when they named it the “Love Apple”, and an aphrodisiac. That’s me just a little eggplant, Aubergine.
JessicasRabbit

I used to admired Sir Thomas More, an important adviser to Henry the VIII. He had a home in Chelsea and I have just loved that name. I named my basset hound Chelsea, but I hope I don't look like her. I'm going to change my last name too to my mother's maiden name - Ertel and for a middle I'm taking my mother's middle name - Jean.

Kelley
11-06-2012, 08:42 PM
I have alway been called by my middle name which is Kelly. I have always hated it as a boys name. It seems that all through school there was a cute girl in my class named Kelly, made it a little awkward. I loved Kelly as a girls name so I figured it was a good female name for me. No confusion when I'm dressed the wife just calls me Kelley

At first, I went with Beth who was my first crush in 3rd grade. About 5 years ago, I started going by Alyson because of a picture I saw of Alyson Hannigan where we were ironically dressed the same way(red hair and all). So, I started going by that and actually like it better then Beth

Family friends had a daughter Presciila who was very pretty, so when as a young teen I began dressing I imagined I was as pretty as her.
I should like to point out this was 40+ years ago before " Prescilla the movie".
Cristine
11-07-2012, 07:20 PM
I didn't have to choose a feminine name. I was given the name, Cristine. Growing up I hide my beautiful name because of being teased so much in childhood. So I went by Cris all through adulthood. I am just coming to peace and embracing my feminine name as well as my feminine self.
shayleetv
11-08-2012, 11:26 AM
When I was a young crossdresser my sister was always trying to come up with a movie star name for herself. It got my imagination going about a girls name for myself.I think I went through a hundred names. My mother always called me by a feminized version of my first name (I really hated it) when she was about to dress me up as a girl for my Cub Scout skits for Pack meeting. Now when I came out to my wife latter in life I still had not chosen a name to go by until joining some other forums.
The name I chose has some irony; I chose the name because of that. Shaylee has it's origin from Irish roots and obscure legends. It seems in the very early stories of fairies (the ones with wings) one of the names they used for them was "Shaylee". Also they appeared to all be girls even though they had no gender. The Irish had to be very care with their boys so the fairies would not steal them. The fairies placed a high value on boys so as to do their manual labor for the them. When they became to old to manage they would turn them into girls and send them home. Thus I chose my name from from characters that appeared to be a female but really wasn't. And as stories go things got changed and it was more romantic in the Victorian age to have fairies more benevolent to humans so the story changes.
Also just a sideline up to the World War I, in some of the rural areas of Ireland the families used to dress their young boys as girls. They would put a boarder around the bottom of the skirt so everyone would know that it was a boy and not a girl and the girls did not have the boarder. that was the only apparent difference, I guess the secret was kept from the fairies because they found no value in girls as they did in boys. So the boys were safely hidden from the fairies in plain site until boys were at an age where they could not be managed by the fairies and/or could protect themselves from the fairies.
So I'm either a Fairy who looks like a girl or a boy who is hiding from Fairies that dresses like a girl, either way it fits me.

11-10-2012, 04:15 AM
I mentioned mine in a previous thread that's rolled off...
My mother had only three boys, and never got to use the first and middle names she wanted to give a girl, "Amy Gale." I (her firstborn) have given those names a home. (She might have spelled the middle name "Gail," but I like the "Gale" spelling better. For that matter, she might have spelled the first name "Aimee"...)
My femme last name, "Tapie," I took from my mother's mother's maiden name. I'm not sure Grandma would understand, but it felt right.
My other middle name, "Ruth," comes from the name of the first mesh avatar developed for Second Life. For a long time, there was a glitch where your shape would fail to be sent to other people's viewers when you teleported in, so you would appear with Ruth's shape. We called it "getting Ruthed." The effect could be hilarous, especially on a nominally-male avatar. They've since eliminated that glitch, by leaving you as a white blob of mist until your shape catches up, but you can still get the original "Ruth" shape from the library.
One of the things I enjoy doing is practicing signing my femme name. It looks neater than my male signature does. :)

It is great to be in the position to pick the name you fancy eh? To me it seems that many people go for the femme version of their given name. Others pick the name of some girl they admired in the past. I, for one, went for the femme Italian version of my given name - it is now legally my real name.

I used to think "Arianna" was nice. But later when I started to buy clothes online, I needed a name for my Amazon account, and decided to go with something new. I had seen the name "Camille" in a book not long before, and most importantly didn't know any women with that name. So I registered as "Camille Green" (I chose "Green" from Rachel Green on Friends). I thought it was a pretty name, and I like names with double letters. I've stuck with it since.

Rachel M
11-25-2012, 09:17 PM
For the longest time i did this with out the use of a name. Back in college, I had a friend named Meghan. I said hmmm, I like that name so for a long time that is the name that I used. Well, I eventually got married and came out to my wife prior to us getting married. She was okay with it and very supportive. Then one day I was all dressed up and we were planning on going out for an adventure. She asked, "What shall I call you, do you have a femme name that you used? She didnt want to make a mistake and call me by my male name. I told her that i had been using Meghan. She had met my friend in the past, but didnt think the name fit me. So, I asked who do I look like to you? She replied..."Rachel, you look like a Rachel." I think it was the hair and my femme personallity that reminded her of Rachel Aniston in Friends. I like the name and and it stuck with me since.

After over fifty years or dressing and many names, my name for the past ten years is Catherine Severine, a name that comes from the first name of Catherine Deneuve, and the last name being her character in Belle de Jour, a film from her glory days. She is unable to share intimacy with her husband, but leads a complicated fantasy life. The first time I saw the film I felt such a connection with her character I had to take the name. When I finally got my feminine Id card, it felt to me more natural a name than my "normal" name. If only I bore the slightest resemblance to her, as opposed to Jim Belushi (for who I have been mistaken...you see what I am up against here)...sigh.

My Christianity has been important to me for a long time. So, when I finally confessed wife and church marriage counselors that I had always fantasized about crossdressing and was asked to leave the church and my wife filed for divorce, I took the name "Faith" as my first name. My Surname, Grace, is what should have been extended to me instead of being expelled from the church. I don't blame God, but I do blame the ignorance and prejudice of my pastor and counselors. Thus, Faith Grace, through an unfortunate divorce, was born and has been able to flourish and I am now more comfortable and happy than I, she, has ever been.

Robbin is close to my other name. My real first friend as a young kid was a girl named Randa. We were Randy and Robbin and inseparable. The Sinclair part started out being St. Clair. I've always like people (and places) with St for the first part of the last name but after a while, it reminded me too much of a stripper's name. I wouldn't mind being a stripper but don't need the name. Sinclair reminds me of the out of business gasoline company dinosaur logo. Rob' bin Sin' Clair sounds strong with a nice four beat melodic ring. Hell, I'm a lady dinosaur so why not. xr

My mother always said if I was a girl, I would be named Lauren (she loves Ralph Lauren.) I would have stuck with that but I had a cousin come along and her parents used Lauren, which for some reason I feel funny about the same name. So, I tweaked it to Laura.
Kimberly Renee
12-23-2012, 11:08 AM
I started with an alternate name listed in my baby book, Kendall Ray (there weren't any girl names listed). I actually used that name during a stint as a radio DJ. Kendall is a boy/girl name so I started referring to her as Kendall Rayanne. After several weeks it still didn't feel right. Looking at my pictures, I saw that Kimberly would fit but Rayanne didn't. A little more tweaking and Renee sounded good. Choosing a surname was a bit of a hunt & peck and throwing a dart but finally Kimberly Renee Cooper was decided on.

My name situation is a little different, as I am genderfluid (flowing between masculine and feminine, rather than two boxes) and I am out.
My born first and middle names are Kim William, (yes I was born a Kim, named after the Rudyard Kipling book).
And so I have changed my name (not legally) to Kimberly Michelle William, to have a nicer flow, and to honor my masculine aspect, my feminine aspect and my androgynous aspect. I have come out very recently, and so have been playing femme a lot. One of my friends calls me Kimberly Michelle, and I like it.

I have always liked the name Valeri since I was kid. One of the first girls that I kissed was named Valeri which I remember very well to this day so maybe that is a good reason. I had a good friend in High School named Valeri. It has always been a positive association for me. But the most logical reason was because I no longer know anyone with that name. None of my current friends or relatives have this name. This was important for me in choosing Valeri.

Mine was chosen by a very uninhibited girl I worked with years ago. It was Halloween week and she asked what I was going out trick or treating as. I replied that I hadn't done that in a long long time then asked her what she thought. She said "a woman". I dismissed it with a laugh but she persisted by asking me if I'd ever worn pegnoits, bras, etc. I denied each one but her tone was increasingly of disbelief. She said I should get them because she could make me over into a beautiful woman. "Then I'll call you Michelle and we'll go out to bars".

From the first girl I was ever attracted to. I didn't know whether I wanted to be with her, or to be just like her.
Ditto. Mine was Amy. Very attracted to her and she wore outfits that just turned me on so much....

This is your opportunity.
Please tell us all how your came to choose or were given your female name.
I like Marlene, it reminds me of the only girl I ever dated that shared my dressing.

Chantelle. Chose it initially when younger as it sounded a little cheap where I was from and a few of the trashy girls were called it at school. The surname was a teacher at my school and I had a massive crush on her, not a glamourous lady, plump and overweight. It was simple as that. :-)

Seeing as my mother said a number of times when I was young 'you should have been born a girl' (I know for sure that a Ouija board told them I would be female) I have taken the name that I would have been given if that had happened: Victoria Louise
LisaSue
01-02-2013, 08:42 PM
I haven't given a lot of thought to why I settled on the name that I did. I have gone through a few. At fourteen, I originally went with the name Marlene. That was because it sounded elegant to me, and it was the name of a teacher I really admired both for her personality and her beauty. Later I went with Jenny on a whim but that lasted a couple weeks and I was back to Marlene. I didn't really think about the name I settled on, but it has stuck now for nearly twenty years. So I really doubt that I'll ever change it. My first name Lisa, I believe was motivated by my admiration for a co-worker of mine. My chosen middle name, Sue, I'm more than certain was spawned by a girl I knew in Junior High/High School. She was beautiful, kind, and sweet (and one of the few people who didn't mock or shun me when she found out about the Lisa side of me). She also dated a guy I used to hang out with, who knew about Lisa, and with whom I was totally infatuated from 3rd grade all the way through college. So I'm thinking that Sue was chosen somewhat out of both envy and admiration. If folks will put up with it, I'm sure you'll hear about that guy more in the future.
Ninotchka
01-03-2013, 12:41 PM
I chose Ninotchka in honor of Greta Garbo who played that character in the movie of that name. One of my all time favorite flicks.

01-03-2013, 06:42 PM
The name I signed onto this forum with is the name of an elf protagonist from a story I wrote in high school. It's not a real name, but I think it's got a beautiful, musical quality to it, and I built it from two words I think both have good "mouth feel" (aria, a type of song, and mythe, French form of "myth" -- the character was a kind of bard, which as any D&D nerd can tell you is a singer of stories [I know, I overthought it]).
I've held onto the name over the years, even though I haven't written about the character in so long. It's special to me. It won't work as a "real" name, but right now it's the one I've chosen as I explore this part of myself.

kristyk
01-06-2013, 04:40 PM
My parents were told they were going to have a girl, so they picked Kristy as my name. When I was born the story goes my mother and everyone was quiet surprised when they saw I was a boy. For what ever reason they held off on telling me this story until I was older. At the time they told me the story I was not out as a trans person to any family member, SOOOOO can you imagine what my face looked like when they told me this. I'm so glad they told me and I get a good laugh now looking back but I wish I could of saw my face or had my picture taken at that moment I was told.
So before that information was told to me I went by Amy but since that day I've been Kristy just made sense
Love and Hugs Kristy

Growing up through the 80's and a fan of 80's sitcoms, I had the biggest crush on Alyssa Milano when she starred on "Who's the Boss". Still have that crush to this day as she aged pretty well. I am suprised however that my name gets mis-pronounced a lot. Didn't think it was that complicated :)

Cristine
01-08-2013, 07:16 PM
Cristine Larry. I was giving my name at birth by my mother. Yes, that's what it says on my Birth Certificate. And as I was growing up I was teased regularly because of my name. I learned how to hide my real name all through my childhood but I am proud today that I was blessed to be named Cristine. I would love to change my middle name though. I'm thinking of....Cristine Louise. What do you ladies think?

My Female Name is Kate. I chose it because my partner and I used to laugh about it in "Black Adder" (UK television series). A young woman was pretending to be a male servant called Bob. She accidently let it slip that her actual name was Kate. When queried about it she said "Yes. Kate is short for Bob". Guess what my male first name is!
Gloriamontrose
01-12-2013, 03:14 PM
My name is Gloria because when i first went out to a party in 'drag' my wife centred on the name together with children and a couple we knew. I tried to convert it to Stephanie but my wife said I was 'Gloria' and that was it.
Gloria.

Gwen was a girl I admired in school and one I wanted to emulate.
She was the ideal perfect figure to me, and I always thought that if I
were a girl, I'd love to look like her.
JoySmith
01-13-2013, 10:13 PM
I wanted an innocent name and a name that would describe who I am inside. I picked the name "Joy". It's simple and innocent and by bringing out my feminine side, I'm bringing more Joy to my life and I hope to the lives of others. Other girls tell me it that "Joy" is a perfect name for me. I'm so happy for choosing it.
I became Bee at an early age as I was raised by four older sisters, and Bee became easier than my full name. It was most likely Bea at first but by the time I could begin to understand letters it became Bee.

I used to wait for a girl with whom I'd then walk to school. Her name was Alexandra. Loved the name then and love it now. Alexs stands for Alexandra Santora. Alexandra--on this forum--was taken and I just like the sound of Santora.

My male name is a very common one like a James, John, Robert. When growing up I always wanted to change my name to something more exotic like Pascal or Reef or Lennox. Something with a bit more vibe and pace! So for my feminine self I tried to come up with a more unusual name that I haven't seen used alot. It was fun searching for a name!!

Then a year later when I was shopping en femme a sales associate at White House Black Market asked me what my name was. It was the first time someone asked female me my name and I said Kimberly. Since then I've always introduced myself in person as Kimberly.

Normally when I'm crossdressing, since it's more about being an in-between kind of genderqueer expression for me rather than a straight cross-over into the opposite female side of the binary, I'll just stay by my day to day name of Aerick... and yet... that being said... on the few occasions where I give myself a female name, I actually have the benefit of having seen both sets of names my parents chose for me written inside a baby name book before I was born. In that case... my name, had I been born female, would have been Heather.
Jenni Yumiko
01-18-2013, 06:23 PM
Jen, Jenni first name I thought of when asked :-) Otherwise I would go with something like Tika Majerie :-D
Renee Nicol
01-18-2013, 11:59 PM
My female name Renee Nicole comes from, as many of the posts I read, girls that they know/have known along their journey through life.... But coincidentally Renee is the name of two women whom I currently know (no relationships other than buisness/school) and Nicole comes from two women I previously knew (both ex-gf's). All four of these women are at the top of the list of hottest females on the planet. I squished em together and there you go.

Because I’ve always tried to suppress my femininity, I only briefly thought about getting a girl’s name. But, about 3 months ago I decided to stop fighting myself and fully embrace my femininity. Because I didn’t want to “out” myself, I thought I better pick a name that closely sounds like my male name. That way, if I slip and say my male name, I could quickly recover. A web search showed Anne and I instantly thought of Anne Frank. I remembered reading The Diary of Anne Frank as a child and the admiration I had for her. Anne it is.
About a month after joining this forum, a friend said, “Anne, you really live up to your name.” Wait, I don’t even know what Anne means. How can I be living up to something without knowing the meaning? But, before I tell you what Anne means, you should know a little more about me.
I’m a devoted Christian. And, I always thought my feminine desires were “sinful”. Thus, when this desire became so overwhelming after nearly 1 ½ years of crossdressing abstinence, I thought God had abandoned me to the wiles of my “sin”. My faith and relationship with God waned. Yet, I felt emotionally stronger and more complete as a whole person. But, how could this be if I’m living in “sin”? I tried not to worry about it and just enjoy the moment. A few weeks later, I start to pray and hear God’s voice again. How can I be hearing God’s voice when I’ve “chosen” to live this lifestyle?
About this time is when I decided to look up Anne. I couldn’t believe what I learned. Anne means God’s grace. That was a total confirmation. God had not abandoned me. My own judgment and condemnation is what separated me from Him. So, after 47 years of living in confusion and self-condemnation, I finally know who I am. I am Anne Blake, God’s transgendered child, Living and Loving in His Grace.

I first called myself Stephanie and later changed it to Stevie. I'm a huge Stevie Nicks fan
Aelita Nolan
01-21-2013, 12:50 PM
Well I choose the name "Aelita" because it is uncommon, I doubt that there are many people in the world that have it (there is at least one person with a name that has the same spelling*). I actually went through several names before this one. There was "Ginevra", "Clarissa", "Caterina", "Victoria", "Ashley", "Evelyn", "Whitney", and "Annabel". For a while I used all of them except Annabel interchangeably. Then I decided on (and used) Annabel for a while. But I thought about it a bit more and realized that I wanted something different (and probably unique) so I chose "Aelita".
* I say "spelling" because I am not sure on the pronunciation of that person's name whereas I know the pronunciation of the name that I chose.
Naomi Newman
01-21-2013, 07:13 PM
hello all, My female name is Naomi Newman, ive always loved Naomi as a name and it goes well with my main name "newman" well, my crossdresser life started when i was about 14 ish when i was trying on clothes and experimenting with my sexuality, until i was caught by my parents and they stamped on it, they thaught there was things wrong with me, and threatened docs and all sorts, and i stopped doing what i was doing, until i was in my late teens early twenties and i starting playing.. or experimenting again, and again i pushed it out, which i have to say is probably the worsth thing i could have done, now i am 33 and still feeling the same way, and now i have 2 beautiful children which i am thankful for and i should be content with life but i aint and now i am finally going to do what i like and enjoy which is crossdressing and enjoying it, and maybe more who knows ? anyhow thats it from me 4 now i shall post a pic or two as naomi in a couple of days, thanks for now naomi
