Christy was going to be my given name if I had been born a girl. I've always had a tinge of sadness when thinking about the name, but now I realize that I can be Christy after all, whether it's just crossdressing or if I ever decide to try living as a woman. Christy just suits me, it sounds and feels right.

i am cassexy , as sexy indicates my sexiness in female clothes and cas were randomly chosen alphabets. i love being sexy in female clothes and if possible love to be a female even though a male in external body

When I first started dressing when I was 13 I loved the name Missy <3 (Melissa) Then one day my mother told me that if I had been born a girl (I wish!) that my name would have been Laura. From that day on I have strived to become the daughter she never had. I have literally spent thousands of days and nights in bras, panties, and every article of women's clothing imaginable all while learning to express and embrace the strong feelings of femininity that I have deep down inside. I have become Laura on the inside...

Mine was given to me me by my boyfriend and owner. I cherish it lovingly.

Jenara
01-26-2013, 04:20 PM
I have used this name for a lot of roleplaying characters. I always liked Jen and I dated a Sarah. This was just a nice mix of the two.

Roberta_C
01-26-2013, 07:28 PM
Mine is simply the feminine version of one of my forenames which i also really like and think suits me. Couldn't think of a surname so just chose the initial 'C' to denote 'Crossdresser'!

Kari B

Feminine way of spelling one of my names.

There is just no doubt about it: I am Karen Corona.

Diana1469
01-27-2013, 06:27 PM
My femme name is Diana Renee Archer. It uses the initials of my male name. The last name comes from a video game 'secret agent' and I took Diana because I liked it. Renee was just the first name that popped in my head when I thought about something with an R.

Mine. Well I went through many books. Didn't like any I found. I went by Veronica Lynn for a while. Loved the name Lynn I changed the name to Victoria because I could shorten it to Vic or Vicky etc... A wonderful friend jokingly called me John josh Jose Jocelyn. Then we agreed jocelyn was the name. Soi was able to keep Lynn and I change to my final name. Jocelyn Victoria. Now I've added this name to my legal name in court so when I want I can legally sign with my fem name. I LOOOOVE THAT FEELING. LMAO

AshleeM
01-30-2013, 01:50 PM
My name is Ashlee Mara, I've always loved the name Ashlee since I first saw Gone with the Wind, I figured it was less cliche than Scarlet even though I am in love with that name as well! And I love spelling it with two e's I think its so cute looking. I am a huge Star Wars fan so I took the name Mara from Mara Jade Skywalker, Luke's wife in the Expanded Universe.

I picked tammy would of been my sisters name if she lived but she died at birth
Mom and dad wanted a little girl

Aleca
01-30-2013, 04:08 PM
I've changed the name a few times. The first time, back in the 1970's a chose the name Leslie because I had a neighbor with that name who turned me on. I then had adopted the name Tracy which I used in the chat rooms for years (I just used it, adopting it from a coworker by the same name), people started calling me that (online) and so I just stuck with the name. I then didn't feel comfortable with the name Tracy as I went out in public a few times and people called me that, so I settled on Aleca for now as that is only one letter off my real name.

My God, not Christine, the poor lady in Phantom of the Opera. No wonder you changed it.

Did you ever hear the phantom calling you? I would. My only call is the song of the Thistle. Thistles are kind of quiet.

Hello All,
I am new to this place. So please ignore if I commit any mistake unknowingly.Well,my female name is Sumedha..this was given to me by my girlfriend.I am a 22 year old ccrossdresser from India.

Weclome Sumedha.
Cute and interesting name. You should post an introduction thread in the Introductions and Re-Introductions Forum (http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?15-Introductions-and-Re-Introductions). That way we can get to know you better and you won't get lost in this thread.

Haha, yes, it is Christine. I never thought of that, but I do love Phantom of the Opera. Such a sad, yet beautiful story and Andrew Lloyd Webber's music is great. Anyway my mom told me my name would have been Christine, but I would be called Christy. The name always stuck in my head and I've always liked it.

PertyX
02-01-2013, 10:43 PM
Mine is Harper Cox, shortened to Perty X.

However, it didn't evolve that way!

A handle I often use is Dirty X- when I registered on this and other CD forums I changed it to Perty, the X signifying a kiss. I am very pert from the waist down- no point in false modestly, I really do have nice legs and a bubble butt.

I recently had to give a full name on a Facebook page. It had to have an X in it- Cox says it all, doesn't it? ;)

Then I decided I needed a first name that could be shortened to 'Perty.' Harper it is!

(I'm also a literature enthusiast so it all fits together nicely).

Mine is Nikki, it it based on my male name, but I think Nikki is super cute :)

I've had horrible luck with names. My first chosen name was Katherine, after Katherine Hepburn, then my best friend married someone with that name. Then I changed to Julianna, after Julianna Marguiles, but now, I'm now good friends with someone named Julie, so that too was weird. Now I'm on Margaret, which was the name of one of the women I used to know back in college. I don't think I'll see her ever again, so I'm her, for now.

I guess I have a thing for multi-syllable names.

Rachael Jones
02-03-2013, 05:20 PM
Not really thought about it much since younger days (I had a long break from everything CD) and back then I called myself Sara. At the moment, I'm leaning towards Rachel - no specific reason why, I just like the sound of the name. Plus I can say it in a sexy voice which helps I guess!

Montana023

mine actually came from a Steven Segal movie (not sure which one). his daughter in the movie was named Montana & i have always liked that name. Thibideaux, well that's my mother's maiden name & it sticks to my cajun roots.

Mine is Linda Leigh after woman I once knew.

Memzy
02-05-2013, 08:10 PM
Mine came from the movie The Last Mimzy. My bestie said I should change my name to it. So I did. But spelled it Memzy.

Melanie Therese

Mine as I have read by others is what I would've been called if I was a girl, but I really like it.

Never had a female name. If I can find someone in Fl do do a makeover it would be Karman. Wanted to name my first daughter Karman but my first wife (divorced now) said it sounded like a hookers name! So it fits.

I lean to Rachel. A favorite personality for me is Rachel Maddow from a liberal news show (MSNBC) in the States. Occasionally Robbin talks about her long lost sister, Rachel. Rachel_Sinclair. The Sinclair sisters. I'll believe it when I see it.

Another MPD. (Multiple Personality Day) Thank god it's Saturday.

Rachael Jones

Actually, I was just thinking about the name I'd chosen, and decided I'll keep it, but spell it slightly differently. I'll be Rachael from now. Still said the same, just spelt different :-)

It will come to you. Maybe the name comes before the makeover.

What about Angelique? No, sounds like antique. It will come to you.

Natalie Wood
02-09-2013, 04:21 PM
Natalie was my favorite dog growing up. She was very smart, protective and fun.

Fast forward 30 years to present day: My 8 year old daughter wanted a banana plant for her bedroom. She named it...yes...Natalie...lol My wife and I just looked at each other and smiled.

That's a good one, although you might spell it "Carmen." At least then it's a reference to a famous opera, which sounds better than a "hooker name" reference. :)

Kalista Jameson
02-10-2013, 08:36 AM
I've always liked the name Kalista. It looks good when I write it. I'm an online gamer and almost always play female characters or toons, as they are sometimes called. One game required a last name, so I picked Jameson because of the way it sounded, and it stuck. Thus, Kalista Jameson, TGirl/TGal was born!

Cheers,

Kalista

I came out to my mom several years ago (ya know some how she always knew about my dressing, oh thats another story). After her complete acceptance, we talked a lot, mother to daughter stuff and she asked me what my name was. I never really had one I kept, it always changed. Anyway, I asked her what she would have named me had I been born a girl. She thought for a second and said 'Alexis'. Right then I kinda knew why, you see mom wanted to name me Alexander Jeffrey, but dad wouldn't have it. So it appears she has been holding on to that name for over forty years. So I adopted Alexis as my name and wear it as if it were my given name. Moms middle name is Jean. so I took it, hench Alexis Jean. Now mom gets to have her 'AJ'. The last name part is just a geographical thing as I have always lived in Colorado and 'West' just seems to fit.

Stefanie Miller
02-11-2013, 02:47 PM
My wife suggested Stefanie. My actual name is Stephen and she thought it suited me.

Mikaylagirl
02-12-2013, 10:59 PM
Mikayla was suggested to me by my best friend. She thought it was fitting. Mikayla aslo means "Michelle".

Barbara Maria
02-15-2013, 01:33 AM
I'm a classic movie fanatic, and I can't count how many beautiful, classy women were named Barbara. Mostly I named myself after lovely Barbara Nichols, who I've had a mad crush on for decades. Besides,I just always liked the name. It's strong yet feminine.

Brianna Brown :)

Brianna is because of a gurl I used to talk to a lot years ago I always loved her name. y last name is from a teacher I had a crush on in Middle School :)

PaulaQ
02-15-2013, 03:41 PM
Paula is a feminization of my baptismal (not legal) name. (I was baptised later in life. Actually, I've been baptised more than once, but that is another story.) I picked it because it had some personal meaning for me - but it has only a minimal traceable connection to my everyday identity. I didn't think much more about it.

I had never really assigned this part of me an identity until now. But now that I have - she really likes it. Paula LIKES getting email. Paula LIKES talking to all of you on this forum. There is a part of me that feels alive now - all because of a name. This seems, logically, really stupid to me. But the feelings are very real, and are surprising to me. They are VERY strong feelings.

StephanieB
02-15-2013, 04:10 PM
Stephanie is a slight variation of my name, I love the name and I also love the shortened version Steph, and it feels right.

Robbin_Sinclair
02-15-2013, 04:54 PM
Funny how things come back to me. A half century ago, as a kid alone on the lee side of a barrier island in Florida, I had a really cool boat. It wasn't much more than a gloried toy. Her name was Lady Stephanie. I've never known a bad Stephanie. There is something about the name, it has no special Victorian roots but it isn't one of those name that rose with the time and drifted away. Stephanie will alway be Stephanie to me.

allyssa
02-15-2013, 04:56 PM
This is such a great question! I have thought about it now for like 2 weeks and I seriously can't remember how or where the name Allyssa came from for me...maybe it's a psychological thing from childhood? Maybe growing up having a crush on Alyssa Milano (but different spelling!) or something, but I seriously can't remember for the life of me how or when that started. It's been with me for at least 15 years now, so it almost feels like I was "born" with it (haha!). I know I've taken other names for a spin over the years or thought other names were cooler, more fitting, etc. but for some random reason I come back to this one and just like it!

My wife gave me the name joanne.

SsRebeccaGurl
02-15-2013, 11:31 PM
I picked Rebecca because I've always loved that name. Its an interesting experience naming yourself. Few people get to do that.

Xandra
02-16-2013, 12:14 AM
I have always loved the name Alexandra and thought that Santora had a nice ring to it, thus Alexandra Santora.

KatelynnRose
02-16-2013, 01:00 AM
Mine took a while to sink in but I love the show NCIS and one of the first females was a Katelin Todd, so thats why I had taken Katelynn as a first name and I have a niece that her middle name is Rose. It just felt right. It also had taken a long time to figure out the spelling of Katelynn cause I wanted it to be alittle different than normal. :battingeyelashes:

Nikki Rich
02-18-2013, 11:14 AM
My wife actually came up with mine , she thought Nikki just fit and I agree with her , we considered the feminine version of my male name but we have a good friend with that name she even same middle name as I do , we just thought it would be weird especially since she knows about my crossdressing.

Amie Marie
02-19-2013, 10:52 PM
Like so many others I played around with different names trying to get as girly and sexy as possible. Joking around with some friends one day about names (they have no idea about my other life) I being a smartallic said I'm changing mine to Amy. The next time I got to dress up I thought about my comment and it just felt right. I changed the spelling to Amie to be different because I was different on the outside. The Marie just fell into place shortly after and I've been Amie Marie since.

My female name is Teresa its a name I find quite feminine which is how I like and want to be. My wife doesnt know about my feminine side and would like to keep it that way, she has mentioned to me at various time that she thinks I may a gay side to me it something I am unsure of, as I do fancy men, especially if they are int cross dressing

I like your name really nice

I wish I could be so open with my wife but no chance of that

You are really attractive, I chose Teresa as she is such a lovely girl

Cathern Kelly
02-22-2013, 06:14 PM
I chose Cathern because it's a different spelling of the name I hike and Kelly for Kelly's heroes. I thought it was neat to have a name conjered up from a really good WWII movie.

Emily_Safford

I always dressed like a gothy asian school girl when I first started going out in public. I looked like a character named Emiko Watanabe so I was called Emi alot. When it came time to get an ID, Emily stuck and has every since.

Emi ^.~

Erica Marie
02-23-2013, 02:43 PM
Actually Erica is the second female name that I have used. Recently I have been doing alot of thinking trying to figure out who I really am. I used to use the name Mellissa. I had chosen that at the time because it was cute and a little different. After some time I realized that dressing isnt just something cute that I do but its part of who I am. So I decided to use a form of the middle name that I was given at birth (Eric). I just feel it is more fitting.

My name I chose from my favourite brand of daywear panties.I just love the microfibre range. Possibly, the most comfortable panties I have ever worn. I had so many pairs when I lived in Canada. Unfortunately, I now live in Spain, and I can't get them on this side of the pond.

My girlfriend has a couple other names for me, Stephania and Daniela. I prefer Elita though...

My name is Marci

Jennifer Kelly
02-26-2013, 03:27 AM
I'm afraid I wasn't very creative with my femme name. Jennifer is the name I would have had if I'd been born a girl.

Lori_Lynn
02-26-2013, 06:02 AM
Lori is the name of my first crush.

Rollcasket
02-26-2013, 07:09 AM
My actual name is gender neutral so I just go by either Alex or Lexi

edith
02-28-2013, 12:02 AM
I don't have any particular attachment to Edith, it's something I came up with quickly when making an account on reddit. :)

That said, I do really like it as a name because it's simple and nice and a bit old-fashioned. To me it sounds very feminine without being flashy or over the top, which is my approach to dressing.

AnitaFloridaGal
02-28-2013, 04:25 AM
Anita is my real given middle name (I was named after my mother's favorite aunt.) My first name is unisex but more typically a girl's name. My mother really wanted a girl and raised me as one from age 5 onwards. From childhood everyone who liked me called me Anita. Everyone who didn't like me called me "sissy" or "fairy" or "princess" or much much worse (use your imagination).

I use my real full legal name in my email and job applications so most people assume I am female. This is convenient since I am now living and working full-time as a woman.

MarissaWB
02-28-2013, 06:44 AM
I have had a few names in the past but I finally chose Marissa because I thought that the actress Marisa Berensen was a perfect representation of femininity. Of course, I mis-spelled it the first time (two s's) but decided to stick with that spelling

cdmorganashley
02-28-2013, 11:15 AM
there is a trans woman i follow on twitter named morgan who i think is a bad ass chick and i also think of like morgan fairchild who i think of as being super-feminine but also kind of a bad ass in a way and there are lots of girls named ashley who are my age or a little younger so i have always thought of it as the ultimate girl name - and morgan ashley just has a nice ring to it to me

2 very special ladies accepted me for what I am and helped me dress the right way. WOW can they apply makeup. If only I could do it as well.
Yes, you guessed it, their names are Alexis and Lisa.
Kisses.

Kelly in OC
02-28-2013, 03:32 PM
I picked Kelly as my female name because of Kelly Ripa.

Caroline-Grant
03-01-2013, 02:37 PM
I have no formal first name as I can never get it just right. I just say it's Kathrin to save trouble. Though I took up the last name Grant in honor of Tina Louis' character from Gilligan's Island. Does anyone know of a better first name I could use.

traci_k
03-01-2013, 09:07 PM
Went through many names. Wanted something to end in i so when I write it, I can dot it with a heart.
Somehow settled on Traci. It is also the name of the main character in my first published novel and my pen name Traci M Knight. (Still thinking about the M - I do like Melissa)

I've been trying, since I came out a few weeks ago, to pick a female name. It's one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make, and I've not made it yet. I've run through dozens of ideas, and they all get rejected for one reason or another.

Janie {3
03-02-2013, 09:05 PM
Well, my guy name is Johnny. My very understanding wife suggested Janie, because it sounded alittle like Johnny.

Deborah Kaye
03-05-2013, 06:00 PM
Deborah Kaye because I asked my parents once what they would have named a daughter. They don't know it now, but their daughter Deborah Kaye finally arrived!

Johnna.James
03-05-2013, 10:23 PM
I picked Johnna James since it is close to my real name. I used to go by the name Cameo LaRue. According to my therapist it made perfect sense to make the name change, since it brings my two personalities closer together.

Daryl
03-06-2013, 10:10 AM
I picked Daryl because of the spelling of my male name Darrell. When I was yong my mother would get mad at some of my school
for spelling my name wrong. For some reason my mom didn't like the female spelling.

Lovepython
03-07-2013, 12:09 AM
This is too funny. My male name is spelled Daryl. Ha!

I know it's a unisex name. Of course there is Daryl Hannah. I also went to school with a girl named Daryl in grade two or three.

No wonder I don't have a big urge to take on a female name. I guess I already have one and just didn't know it. :daydreaming:

libbyb
03-07-2013, 08:48 AM
Hi so glad to be finally a part of the board I have been viewing it for about 2-3 weeks now and finally signed up.
My name I have 2 that I go by, the first name and middle name is Libby Betty hence the short of Libbyb
Libby was a name given to me by a female friend who helped me when I was in college and finding out later that I would have been called Betty if I had been born female so I have used that .more in the past year for myself.

My female full name is Sarah Brianna Jackson. Sarah came to me last year, Brianna is based on my male name, and Jackson, well, I just liked the sound.

Claire Cook

I just love this thread, and learning how everyone decided on a name. For me, Claire is based on my male name and my mother's name. Her name was Clara Beatrice, but she dropped her first name and everyone called her Bea, or Bee. So that's where my e-mail name (Clairebee) comes from. As a kid, everyone called me Cookie. I loved that because that was Dagwood's daughter's name ... but of course I never told anyone that.

London

My choosen name is London Mckinze. I have a best GG friend who has known about the fem side of me and after talking to her for hours, She insisted we name her. We went back n fourth for an hour. London was choosen becuase I Loved london while I visited there and Mckinze was choosen because thats my Bestie favorite name and future baby name. It was like as soon as we said the names together it clicked. And London Mckinze was truely born. Since that night 5 yrs ago, London has taken a creative roll in my life. My ex wife embraced London and help mold her. She is an Ex for other reasons, not for Londons reasons. I love my life and my friends. They are the ones who have helped me thru everything.

My female name is Tanna Marie Davis. Tanna well that was simple its my real first name (got lucky there ). Marie for a middle name because that's what all the Luther girls in my family middle name is. And Davis its my moms Maiden name and it just fit.

I just found this thread. Very interesting.

For my name, I thought I'd switch the order of my first and last names and then transmogrify both names. My Germanic last name is close to Valerie, and my first (nick)name is Dick. (Can you think of anything worse for someone on the TG spectrum?). Rather than go by Dix or Dixon I selected my mother's maiden name as she helped start me on this path.

It's a bit bizarre in my case. Just before my very first day out a few weeks ago, it struck me that the people I would be meeting would have to call me something! My femme persona had never had a name, as she had never been out in public or met anyone. Just at that point, I drove past a JoAnn fabric store and thought "that's close to my actual name, that'll do!". For the occasions when I need a surname, I use the one I was born with (I'm an adoptee, and it came in handy this time!).

03-12-2013, 07:31 PM
i discovered my name when i was watching tv, I happened to be watching the show "Fringe" and one of the main characters was named Olivia, i love the way it sounded and it just clicked with me (i tried other names before such as Tanya, Zoie, Renee, even the female form of my real name... Erin but nothing ever appealed to me or stuck long enough.) the last name of Tanner was just something that came out of the blue and i liked how the full name sounded: Olivia Chloe Tanner and I have stuck with that ever since.

i have a friend who loves to tell funny dating fail stories from his past, and he never likes to use the girls real name, so he always refers to them as Felicity. after hearing it so many times, ive always kind of liked the name! also, i wanted a name that i didnt know anyone personally that had it, so it didnt feel weird to me...

kellivoegele
03-14-2013, 02:49 PM
Well, I've jumped around a lot, but right now I'm settling on Kelli Voegele. Kelli comes from a girl that I used to work with and was the only person my own age who talked to me when something really awful happened to me (if you want to hear more you'll have to get to know me better). Voegele comes from Kate Voegele, who's music I absolutely love.

AlisonHell

Hi all,

My name is Alison, Alison Hell.

I chose this name as it was one that has been spinning around my head for a while. I have been wearing womens clothes on and off for a long time 30+.

I'm recently separated from my wife who knew nothing of my crossdressing, and I have accepted it fully since the split.

I'm not a MTF Girl as I'm 6' 8" tall and weigh around 20 stone with a very thick set square jaw, LOL.

I enjoy the feel and freedom of female clothes, although there hard to find for my size. I wear my femme clothes in the privacy of my apartment with the blinds and/ or curtains closed.
Although I do enjoy the thrill of wearing femme underwear under my man clothes in public.

Well back to my name, I enjoy/ love rock and heavy metal music and a band I like has a single/ track called AlisonHell, the band is called Annihalator if anyone is interested and it has been a favourite of mine for a long time. The name sums up my last 6 weeks trying to get myself/ life back on track.

I have just purchased a full wardrobe of clothes and underwear and am bursting (literally) to try it on as it arrives.

This is my quiet coming out as none of my family or current friends would understand.

I hope to meet new friends and expand my world a little.

As part mentioned earlier I'm not gay, I love womens clothes and am totally straight (with a little kink) LOL.

I actually chose Quinn first. This is from my pen name Q.C. Masters. (You can find my books on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.)

But my wife didn't like it. She renamed me Danielle (Dani for short) after my boy name. Not so fond of that, but she's been a saint through my trans adventures, so I figure reducing her dysphoria a little is only fair.

Recently, she gave me a nice girly middle name, 'Rose', and likes to call me Dani Rose. I like that much better. In fact, at some point, maybe I'll just go by Rose.

I chose Jessy.....just happens 2 b a wonderful name 4 all sexes.....lol lucky me!

LauraLane
03-17-2013, 06:13 PM
Laura is just such an elegant name and I'm a sucker for alliteration so I had to go with Lane. I also like how professional it sounds, like a business executive. I'm not sure why I like that last bit :)

Tiff so I don't have to change my signature when making purchases.

GerriG
03-18-2013, 02:06 PM
http://ucam.com I picked the name Gerri, the feminine version of my real name Gerry. I like the feminine sound it has when you say it. I have been seriously crossdressing for a couple of years now. I have loved wearing bras and panties for many years, and I have branched out with pretty much everything lately. I even got me a pink purse with a shoulder strap last week. I love wearing high heels (I actually feel more comfortable in them than in regular shoes), earrings, dresses, slips and nighties.

DeidraDee63
03-18-2013, 02:38 PM
I did not really pick my name, it picked me, really in my younger years I would have dreams obout dressing and I was always called Deidra. When I got older and more serious I remembered the name and when I looked it up it, I found it was galic/irish origin, which I am. In ancient lore Deidra was a beautiful Irish princess, it has several meanings such as: fearful, sorrow, uncertainity and raging woman, these were all things I was feeling plus I liked it so then Deidra was born. It feel so natural to me from day one maybe it was my name in a previous life anyway I liked it then and still do.

Sophie Yang

When I chose my name I was thinking a lot about the gender spectrum and the terms feminine, masculine, and transgendered. In Chinese philosophy the blending and balancing of opposites – the Yin, the feminine half, and the Yang, the masculine half, influence a person’s behavior and fate. I was going to choose Yin, (the feminine, negative, dark, passive, cold, and wet), for a last name. However, these characteristics do not reflect my personality. So I chose Yang, (the masculine positive, bright, active, dry, and hot) for a last name. These characteristics better reflect my personality.

I think my Yin and Yang halves are well balanced, but have been shifting to the feminine side. My closet certainly reflects the shift. Life is too short. If my feminine side makes me happy, I hope I am wise enough to balance my Yin and Yang along with my wife and sons’ Yin’s and Yang’s. Sophie, (Greek), means wisdom and wisdom is what I seek.

Mei means beautiful, Mei Mei means sister or beautiful girl.

Ergo, Sophie Mei Yang was born.

Antoinette
03-22-2013, 03:48 PM
Well mine isn't Antoinette anymore (sadly can't change that here). It's now Fiona Thompson. Got Fiona from Adventure Time (the gender swap version of Finn) plus its fun to say. Thompson is the last name on my mom's side.

changed it ever since I broke up with my gf. She's the one who gave me the name Antionette. So to let go of the past I changed it

Samantha Horne

Last name from the incredibly hot lead singer of DEf FX - Fiona Horne
Samantha Horne feels right on so many levels. xx

My name is Chloe. For some reason the name just feels right. Its part pristine and part naughty. It has a nice sound to it. It has the hard "K" and the soft "low-y" sound which is a tantalizing contrast. Ive picked it and never wanted to change it in over 10 years.

03-23-2013, 02:12 AM
I've posted here before with names that didn't suit me in the least, so here I am again with a name I've finally decided on. I'm Lisa. It just kind of fits, and I really like the name. Someone called me that once, mistaking me for someone, and I turned around and answered them. It was embarrassing but worth it, because it helped me find my fem name. :)

Jillian Monroe. i grew up with a beautiful girl named Jillian. and for the last name i think we all know. Happy posting

pam1962
03-23-2013, 01:44 PM
Pamela Denise. I picked Pam as a first name in honor of my first crush. She was (and still is) so beautiful; she was also the first girl I knew who owned a wig. My male name that I go by begins with "D", and I wanted a "D" middle name. My first choice was Diane, but I have an aunt and a sister-in-law with that name. So I chose Pamela Denise, which seemed to roll off the tongue easily and sounded pretty together.

Great question. I was just sitting here asking myself, "do I need a girl name?" I have never thought I needed one. I also thought what would I say if my SO asked me if I had a name. What is the right answer? Yes, my girl name is? Or......I'm stilling learning to accept myself as a crossdresser (oh my gosh I did I just say that?). My SO knows and wants to support me, but current DADT. I'm sure at some point I'll feel the need to have an alternative name, but just dosent feel natural at the moment.

LSL_Dee
03-25-2013, 03:55 AM
Well i have had a few femme names. All have been variations of my real names. I started as Donna, courtesy of my mom who called me her daughter Danna when i grew my hair out in college. Little did she know.
After that i went by Christina, a variation of Chirsitian, another one of my real names.
I have finally settled on Dee, when my current wife accepted my femme side and told me I can be open about it. She always called me D as short for my real first name. So by extension I go by Dee now so she can continue to call me D(ee) in public and private and always refer to me as my femme persona.
I even have friends starting to call me D(ee) all the time, whether they know I am en femme or not.

Hey all! I'm Alison or Ali. I started off calling my self Camille, but after thinking more, I feel more like an Alison. I love being to pick my own name, it feels like me.

I'm just not sure how to tell my wife that my femme side has a name. She knows all about the CDing; even goes shopping with me. Any ideas?

No idea how I came to using Lacy, it just seemed to fit. Had a few different names over the years, but none really seemed right until now.

Michelle K
03-25-2013, 11:40 AM
My cousins always called me Michelle when they dressed me up. I is a form of my male name and my 2 older cousins told me that its easy to remember and less likely to have verbal slip-ups when out as my female self. They said simple is better and I've never bothered to try another name.

Mikayla. German for Michelle. Michelle being the female version of my male name.

Asp
03-26-2013, 04:17 AM
I started dressing when I was young and wore panties and bras under my clothes at school. My English teacher in school noticed and always kept an eye out for me and safeguarded my secret. She called me Asp because of my personality. When I graduated, she revealed to me that she was a transsexual born male and like me always thought she was in the wrong body. She outed herself and resigned after my graduation because it was a small school and she wad forced to. She told me to always be me.

I stick with Asp because she meant so much to me and gave me my name.

TeresaCD

Teresa, because it's as far from my male name as I could think (and it feels right..)

meganmartin
03-26-2013, 06:27 AM
Actually I started off with under another name and after my wife discovered my secret discussed it with her that I would like to change my name. She threw out a few names the first one I did not like but she said if we had ever had a daugther she would have named it Megan. Then she suggested Marie because my mother had recently past and it was her middle name, I picked Martin because it just had a nice ring too it.

As time goes on I feel I will change my name again but for now i am 3 M's Megan Marie Martin....

Caroline-Grant
03-26-2013, 12:52 PM
I got my name changed. At a suggestion from a friend I settled on Caroline though I'm sticking with Grant as a last name to honor the memory of gilligan's island. I think I want to crossplay as ginger for halloween this year. Though it's such a long way off that I might change my mind. But I'm rambling. Sorry.

Jessie0276
03-27-2013, 10:37 AM
Well my mother, who is now deceased, would have called me if would've been born a girl. So as a memory to her and how supportive of me she was I call my femm side Jessie!

Ashlyn Brooke
03-27-2013, 11:28 AM
Well, I originally used to go by Paula (my middle name with an 'a' at the end). Two gay co-workers hated it and for a week kept rattling off different names to me til we settled on one. Now I am officially:
Destiny Ashlyn Brooke, and I go by Ashlyn.

ShelleyM

Alice Marie
03-30-2013, 02:00 AM
I chose Alice Marie because this is what my parents were going to name me when I was born. They were expecting a girl; little do they know they were at least partially right lol. For a last name, I went with my real first name. Alice Marie James has a nice ring I think. :)

Michaela. It's my actual name with an "a" on it. I wasn't feeling that creative.

Hi im a new coming out m2f crossdresser. I wanted to chose a name that was for me. I wanted pick between Jennifer Ann or Valerie Maria. I am choosing Valerie Maria because I feel it's the name for me.

Allison Chaynes
03-30-2013, 03:37 PM
I've hesitated to post here because I haven't really settled on a feminine name yet. Every time I find one I like, it's the name of someone I'm related to, or my wife and I can't stand. Eventually we'll agree on one though!

Ciara Brianne
03-31-2013, 04:42 PM
I agonized for a long time over my femme name. I toyed with names I had always liked, but non of them seemed right. I decided to look at Celtic names. Seemed a logical choice given my Celtic heritage. I always really liked the names Caitlin and Brianne. I played with them for a while...It felt closer to "me", but not quite right. I found the name Ciara in a list of Celtic names and new instantly that I had found my name. It felt incomplete, so I added Brianne. When I spoke it out loud I felt a chill run through me. It turns out (and I did not plan this) that it means the same thing as my real name, "dark, noble". Fitting for a cynical Leo.lol.

Ashanti
03-31-2013, 04:58 PM
At first, I used my real name with an "a" at the end. When I signed up for this group, I thought that I needed to change my name to a simple, beautiful name, Ashanti, because that is the way I feel when I am dressed as a woman. Beautiful.
Hi! This is my first post here. I hope to make many friends and learn from others who have similar experiences as me.

When I first dressed, a friend called me "Vee." She wasn't sure what to say next. I said "Veronica" because I just love the way it rolls of the tongue. Some have asked me if it's a reference to the Archie's comics as in "Betty" and "Veronica." It's not. It actually never entered my mind.

04-07-2013, 04:10 AM
I kind hate to admit this, because it sounds somewhere between pathetic and sordid, but when I was signing up for my first online account, long, long ago, I wanted to present as female, since I couldn't in real life. I hit a block when I was asked for a name - I had never considered that before. I didn't have a girl name. So I sat back in my chair and considered: what did I want to be as a girl? And the first answer was immediate: cute. I wanted to be cute. And for some reason the image of Molly Ringwald from Sixteen Candles popped into my head and I thought, "Good enough, I'll be Molly from now on." And so I am.

And I feel cute when I'm Molly.

Piercing in general.

Emogene
04-11-2013, 11:28 PM
Emogene or Emo was suggested by my SO. The name is in recognition of my feminine side that is more open, more vocal, more empathetic, and most importantly more in touch with myself and my emotions. Nice to feel things that I've repressed for a lifetime. Time to deal with a decades of "baggage" that was repressed so that I could get on with the job.

So here is an odd one for you - need your input on this one.

Tomorrow I might be expected to choose a Muslim name. Problem being two, 1) the community does not see me as Giovanna - (they don't see me a female), 2) I'm pretty sure they won't have it me picking a female name.

As I never heard of any androgynous/gender neutral Muslim names - I turned to my dear friend Google... Suggestions?

Kinda liked "Malak" (Angel), but it is very close to a not so very nice word in Greek.

Cheryl H
04-18-2013, 11:15 AM
I chose Cheryl many years ago before I put on a dress and make up for the first time. The 1st reason is I just like the name, the 2nd is it's the same first initial as my real name. Therefore I can have packages and mail delivered as just "C" instead of using Cheryl or my real name. I added the H. (my last initial) at my first Tri Ess meeting as there were already 2 other Cheryls there. One CD and one GG. So I put the H on the end of my name tag and it kinda stuck.

Cheryl Ann Owens
04-22-2013, 01:26 PM
After "trying on" a few female names, I decided on Cheryl Ann for a few reasons. One is I simply like the feminine sound to it. And two, I've know women named Cheryl who were good friends and who were strong feminine personalities and one even a role model for me. I wanted to be like them. The friends I have who know about me like the ring to calling me Cheryl. My hair stylist who normally calls me that instead in a message yesterday called me "Sweetie!"

Hi, I'm new here, and, well, just starting down the path to dressing as a woman.

I picked "Emily" almost at random and because it's a common name for women a few years younger than me, kinda like "Jennifer" was for girls born around the same time I was (late 1960s-70s).

For me I just wanted an average, normal name. Lord knows I'll never be a stripper so a stripper name wasn't the right fit. I want to look like a girl when I dress and I want the look to be appropriate for my age. I kicked it around for a few weeks and just fell on the name Lisa. My last name is based on my other half's first name.

I have been using Lisa on another site and it feels right when I get addressed as Lisa.

Hi girls Im new around here. Had this addiction for twenty or so years. I chose the name Nina recently as ive just started cding again after trying to abstain. Did all the purge stuff and regretted it. Wife found some undies that i had forgotten about while she was going through my possessions looking for evidence of a non existent affair. She hit the roof and made the usual assumption that im gay and want to attract men. Nothing further from the truth. Anyway back to Nina. There is a girl called Nina who works in my local bar and she is stunning. I like everything she wears and wish I could wear the same. To cut a long story short, the wife and I are parting company for many reasons and so this Nina is going to be experimenting with makeup soon as i think i look ok with a couple of wigs i purchased lately. Thank you girls for being out there because for years I thought i was the only person like this apart of course from the usual drag on television. I will have an avi soon when i get a camera tripod and makeup.

Kandy Barr
05-07-2013, 02:41 AM
I picked Kandy Barr as a tribute to a dear friend and lover who is no longer with us. This was her stage name. She was quite an infamous stripper down here in Texas in the 60s. Now she lives on.

*Amelia*
05-07-2013, 02:57 AM
I choose Amelia because my drab name is a unique "A" name, and wanted my fem name to be unique and start with an "A" as well. Also for any of you geeky girls out there who love Dr. Who, well let's just say the firey redhead is a role model for me!

In school lockers were assigned in alphabetical order. During those years I became quite close to Erin. By the time high school came around, I was realizing she was everything I wanted to be. Not just a woman. But honest, smart, funny, compassionate, loving and beautiful. She defined it all for me. Envy. I wish I could be a girl made in her image.

Hey,

My name Annabelle-Bethanie comes from two girls I know... Both who are absolutely beautiful, one I can't help but look at for her looks - this is the Annabelle part.

Bethanie comes from a friend I met when I started going to church, she has now become one of my best friends in the sense I no longer consider her a friend - she is now a sister to me so I can't help but use her name!

just the female version of my name. Plus I think it's cute :3

jamiemarion
05-19-2013, 10:16 AM
I chose the name Jamie Marion because it is bi-gender but predominantly feminine. Some boys are still named Jamie but mostly it is a girl's name. Marion with an "o" rather than an "a" also used to occasionally be a masculine name but it is now generally a feminine name. It seems to me that girls have more freedom than boys in names, and once a particular name starts being applied to girls it stops being used for boys. So for me my name connotes that I have chosen femininity over masculinity - I like thinking of myself as a girl and would prefer "selected" others to think of me as someone who was born masculine and is still biologically male but prefers to be considered as and addressed as a girl.

Robbin is close to my real name. It was the name used by my best friend's family.

Women were always my best and sometimes only friends. Another realization recently realized. Her name was Randy. She probably controlled the relationship which made me able to be at ease. Another realization recently realized.

Oh forgot, Sinclair. I think of the green logo dinosaur. Contemplated at first it was to be like an old fashion stripper's name. Now it has less importance. Like real names, the first one means a lot.

Robbin and her male counterpart are close. Being a family CD site, I won't tell you what that boy tries to do to her. Lucky she's in the program.

Annie M
05-24-2013, 03:49 PM
This has been coming for a while and I've been stumped. On the forum it's Annie M not really sure why... I don't really like the name. But after a week in fem with out much inspiration to go back and generally being accepted I was asked by one of the guys at work, "So what do we call you now?" And it came to me in that moment " Just put an ie on Bill " so I guess my famine name will be Billie Jean or just Billie. And it is a name that's in my family and its easy to answer to. Now the hoops to make it legal no clue.

laurawulff
05-24-2013, 04:21 PM
Laura, always has been Laura. I used to put the "CD" after it when i was younger, but chatting with a very activist trans friend, she once told me "You don't need the CD thingy after your name, Laura should be enough for anybody". She has been a very strong influence in my ideas about gender. You choose a name for you, a name that has a meaning. Laura comes from latin, and it's related to victory. Since i found that what i am and what i want required some "fighting", i couldn't think about any other name. And the "wulff" is similar to my real surname, at least on the meaning side..

VictoriaPaul
05-28-2013, 03:23 PM
I chose Victoria because it was the first one that came to my mind (kind of like word association, or Rorshack inkblot tests). Now I realize its too long to comfortably say every time, so people would just call me Vicky. I don't like Vicky; it sounds too much like a ****ty stripper/hooker name :(

Maybe that says something about my subconscious?

Maybe I'm reading too much into it.

sally rebecca
05-29-2013, 10:19 AM
I spent ages swapping and changing and then was forces to decide on one when joining the Beaumont Society. So I settled on Sally Rebecca as I wanted to keep the same initials as my male name (I don't now know why I thought that important) and I wanted a simple name after meeting too many people with elaborate names. Also after Sally Bowles from the Christopher Isherwood books, Sally Solomon from third rock from the sun.

Excuse me for my English, it stills a bit rusted.

DebbieL
06-01-2013, 11:46 PM
I considered a few other names. My real name Rex (actually Rexford) has a feminine form of Regina. That could be shortened to Reggie, but that still sounds to masculine, or Gina, which sounded too much like a drag queen name to me. My other concern was that I wanted to be able to talk about my feminine side without having men wanting me to introduce them. Names like Gloria, or more exotic names would be harder to ignore and easier to associate.

I had had several women friends named Debbie, (Deborah actually), and I associated that name with fun, playfulness, and just a joy of life, because of my friends. These were women I wanted to emulate. My sponsor said "Like Debutante?", which almost made me think about another choice, but I realized it was a good name for "Coming out".

The last name "Lawrence" is my mother's mother's mother's maiden name, and after her husband left her in Missouri, she homesteaded in Montana with her sister, where women could own land. She then went to Central City where she realized that she could become very rich selling baths to miners and doing laundry for the saloon girls. Particularly relevant was that she had to wear a skirt over her pants when she went into town, because women who wore pants into town were often tarred, feathered, and rode out of town on a rail. It looked funny at the time, but most people died a horrible death within a week or two afterward.

Wow Im new to this forum and untill reading this post I hadnt thought about having a femme name. I read this last night and my GG friend messaged me asking what I was doing so I told her I was reading this thread. She asked me what name I would have. I didnt know and asked her if she had any ideas. She messaged me back and said she liked Nicole it reminded her of the old Renault adverts and thought it was a cute name. I told her I did like it. She then said to me how would I feel to be called Sandra Nicole. This took me aback as her name is Sandra. I asked her wouldnt that be a bit awkward. Her answer was " I would be honoured if you took my name and I would call you by it if you wanted me to. So not even 24 hours later I have the name Sandra Nicole and I love it!! My sign in name was just something to register with so it meant nothing to me but when my GG friend gave me her name I washonoured to have it. Thank you Sandra for my new name.

Promethea
06-02-2013, 09:47 PM
Well, I guess I will tell you about two names instead of one, as their stories are kind of related (although one is very lame).

When I first started accepting I was at least part woman I thought a lot about a name, and planned to ask my parents to give me a female name when I came out to them. However, before that happened, a name just landed on my head like a butterfly. The name was Myrna and I went by that name for a couple of years.

Back then I still separated my two genders as separate lives. One "place" where I presented myself as female, was an MMO server. Eventually I went from player to staff member and was required to maintain separate identities as player and staff member. I had just read Alan Moore´s Promethea, so I picked that name.

Since then, I changed my views on gender, and stopped playing that game, so I dropped the name Myrna. However, I feel strongly identified with the character of Promethea (I recommend reading the graphic novel, but for those that haven´t read it, she´s an entity that appears several times during history, embodied in someone that invokes her through artistic creation, and plays a different role each time; the one in the novel is in charge of bringing the apocalypse, not as in the end of the world but as in the dropping of the veil) and through my work and my daily life I have always been trying to do what she does.

So I now use the name when I engage in magickal activities (which can be many things, magick is done in several different ways), and feel it even more as my name since an experience I had last summer. As part of a guided meditation, I had to go to the center of the earth, where I would meet someone very important to me, who would give me some advice or tell me something. The person I met there was the eight Promethea, the one from the book. She just smiled at me, hugged me, and game me her caduceus. Since that moment I do fully consider myself to be the ninth vessel of Promethea.

I just wrote my reintroduction post (I´m coming back after years away from the forum), and mentioned I am considering transitioning. If I go through with it, Promethea will most likely be my name.

By the way how do I change my login name hehe

You would have to PM the admins. Beautiful name, by the way :)

For many years I went by the name of Jacqueline or Jaqui to my friends.
When I decided to go "full-time" I told my mother. She told me that my father and her had been expecting a baby girl and I arrived. She told me she had chosen the name Linda as the name. I took the middle name Marie from my maternal grandmother and my surname from my mothers maiden name as my gran had died when i was around a year old.

The only reason I choose a name for myself so quickly is to secure an e-mail address. I love the name Amanda and no one in my life has that name. But I wasn't sure until beginning to play with the name in my mind.

You see, my sense of humor is unique, well maybe I just want to think it is. Life is supposed to be fun. Right? So in playing around with the name Amanda, and saying it slowly, I came up with A - Man - DUH. Just perfect for a cross dresser.

I can't be the first one to think of that, but it fits me and my personality.

Plus, it would make a great title for a blog!!:D

The Jean part was added because I love that whole two name thing girls have going on. Bobby Jo, Norma Jean, etc...

My co workers came up with my CD name without even knowing that I am into crossdressing, I have a disability that causes short term memory loss and I could best describe myself like Dora the fish on Finding Nemo, one day I was so bad for memory at work that one of my co workers told me she was going to call me Dora then after that it dawned on me that will be my CD name:)

Kimberly Kael

The name I started using for my inner identity was a spur of the moment decision, chosen because it was the name of a character I identified with in a game at the time. (Does anyone remember the animated laserdisc title Space Ace? Kimberly was the girlfriend of the character you were supposed to identify as, but the fact that I saw more of myself in her was a pretty major clue to where my life was headed.) I'd used the name for decades and it carried over into my forum identity ... but I eventually discovered that it didn't really suit me. It's extremely common in our community, for one, and I never liked the abbreviated forms that people inevitably used. Most importantly, it never really felt like my name.

When the time came to change my legal name I put a lot more work into it. I looked at popularity statistics for the year I was born, and trends leading up to the current day. I looked for a family connection, and a sonic similarity to the name I'd been living under for so long. I needed a name that went well with my middle and last names, and one that I liked an abbreviated form of. It had to feel like it suited me. Perhaps most importantly, it had to be a name my wife liked for me. I even practiced signing my new name to make sure I liked the way that felt. If I was going to live with it for decades, it had to be right!
