I really haven't gotten one yet, my parents didn't prepare a girls name for me as they knew very early that I were to be a male baby (I've asked them.) and I don't like the fem version of my real name. Though one name I'd like may be something that sounds like "Natalie" or similar. I've always like that name! :o I can't really decide, I'll have to do some thinking! :c9:

My girlfriend (GG) and I came up with Gabriella or Gabby for short. It was the first I could think of and there was no debate. My girl is so positive and free thinking that I wish it was contagious. I am so looking forward to a future with her.

Nadina
02-19-2014, 05:04 PM
I chose Nadina because I have never known someone by that name and I think its beautiful. Having never known someone by this name it somehow feels like it could be mine and I need to feel like I own this side of me fully so I went with it. :)

I chose Danielle, Dani for short. It just seemed to fit once I was all dolled up.

I used to play schools when I was very young and dress as a girl. I don't know why but I used to call myself Susan, so I guess it just seams natural.

Clara was the name my parents would have given me if i had been a girl :)

I chose Andrea...its the female equivalent of my male middle name. Funny enough I detest my middle name.

Steffani
02-24-2014, 10:35 PM
Steffani was a girl I knew a long time ago. I think about her a lot. We went on two separate paths when we should have travelled down the same one.

Early on I took the name Fran because it was close to my male name.
Many will take a cue from their male names for simplicity.

When my wife found out she asked what do you call yourself and I told her. She said that it was awful and she hated the name.
We never had children and so I put her on task to select a female name. The first name she said i did not care for and the second was Megan, which I liked. Then asked her what about a middle name, she suggested that Marie was my mothers middle name and I should use that.

The last name I just picked random because it had a nice ring to it.

Been using Megan Marie Martin for about 4 or 5 years I would guess and on the fence about a new name.
I am always on the lookout to find a new name, new look just reinvent myself.

My first 'real' girlfriend was Donna Lynn. This was some 30 years ago. She dressed exactly how I like to dress now: Really sassy (boots, leggings, tights).

well my gf asked if i had a name i likes to be called after i told her about my dressing. i told her no, she said i needed one. so chatting about it she asked what names g names i liked. named off a few. and she said she liked Savannah. so did I and it stuck. lol

For a long time I have gone by a feminized version of my name..Joan or Joanie.. In fact that is how I met my wife online 13 years ago. But I no longer like it. Not sure if the Mrs will like it.

Any advise?

Krisi
02-28-2014, 08:09 AM
Krisi is the name of a female former friend who I admired.

Karen was the name of my very first gf, KC are just my initials. My wife calls me Shirley???

GeminaRenee

I told the origins of this name earlier in this thread. However, since my last purge, I've decided to pick a new one. Kali, though a beautiful name, holds no meaning to me other than it belonged to a beautiful young woman I once worked with and crushed on. Also, I think if she ever knew that I was using her name in this way, she'd be creeped out. So, I want to leave it behind, and have one of my own.

I wanted something to symbolize rebirth, and something that told something about me. After much research, I narrowed it down to two names: Jemina Renee, or Gemina Renee.

Gemina means "twin." For obvious reasons, this fits. Also, I'm a Gemini, so there's that. I also looked into Jemina, hoping it would mean the same, but alas it is Hebrew for "listened to." Still, I like the J spelling better. Plus, that form references the 80's cartoon character Jem, who plucked a string in my little heart that still reverberates today in my sense of style. Now, if I go with the G spelling, I could always go with the short form "Gemma," which I think is an insanely hot name. And, with the J form, I fear that people might mistake it for Jemima, which is not a connotation or aura that I wish to evoke.

Renee means "reborn," and it's a classic female middle name. That was an easy choice.

I'm still tossing the idea around.

In 4th grade, my teacher stood on my desk to hang some artwork or decoration from the light fixture. I was sitting at my desk at the time, so I had a nice long look under her dress. I can still see her tan pantyhose and baby blue panties clearly in my mind, as clear as if it was yesterday. I am convinced that that moment started me on my journey. It launched my intense pantyhose fetish and my eventual teenage experimentation with ladies clothing. The moment is so defining for me that I took her name as my own.

VickieFairfax
03-02-2014, 02:02 PM
I've always thought Victoria was a name of a sexy name for a lady ... Strong, power and sensual ... Of course there's Victoria's Secret and it just seemed to fit. The last name simply came from the street I was living on the first time I needed a last name to sign up for an online account.

Now Vickie seems to fit ... Looking for fun as a lady

Having your name picked out for your new life is great.. You did not get to pick out your first name..
I did not have any say in the matter. My new name was bestowed on me by lady ellen of le femme finishing school.

Kim, because it's simple and not too overly feminine. Like me!

Nana is the name I have always used. It just feels right.

Julia Red
03-03-2014, 01:12 PM
Julia is the name of a videogame character that I always liked called Julia Chang.

Also, the name is common here on Brazil and it's a pretty one.

I thought a lot about a middle name but never came up with a good one. The "red" in my nickname here it's not used.

I like Sabrina a lot because it sounds like it could be fun and playful, but also serious and those qualities reflect me.

In a live-action roleplaying game in high school, I was given the name Anson DiMattias for the character I was playing, and really liked the last name. And while in college, I dated a woman named Andrea (pronounced with an 'ah') that always wore pantyhose and tights - indeed she got my attention the first time we met by (intentionally, as I'd find later) uncrossing her legs with a short skirt and opaque green tights.

When I began setting up the online persona of the woman I occasionally am, it just seemed natural. The last name's such a departure from my real name that it serves as a shield to keep my lives very separate. The first name (I even kept the pronunciation) is equal parts a constant reminder of the mannerisms I need to portray and an homage to the woman who sparked my eventual transformation.

octavia
03-06-2014, 07:58 AM
I was always trying to use a female version of my male name but when I heard Octavia I thought that is me. It also helps that I was born in October. It is such a bold departure from my male name that I feel I am truly honoring my femme side.

Mine is a female version of my real first name. Even better as I only have to change one letter and phonetically it sounds the same ( I haven't used it on this site). When people talk to me or call my name I naturally respond, so it is convenient when dressed. My name on this site came about because that is what I was wearing when I registered way back when..

I choose mine because I am a bit of nerd and Superman is my favorite superhero. His secret identity is Clark Kent who has glasses, so I flipped that and am getting contacts for when I finally get confident enough to go into public as her. Was considering Kara (supergirl) but she is blonde and theres no way I am treating my hair other than washing and trimming it.

EllaAlexandria

Ella is a name I've loved since I was younger. Read a story where the main character's names were Ella and Emma. Alexander is my middle name, so I just turned it into the female version and there we go. =)

For years I never felt motivated to chose a name. I didn't have anything actually against it; I just didn't have a reason to do it until a few months ago. That is until I did a makeover session with Phoebe Cross down in Georgia. One of her first questions was if I had chosen a name. That point was the first time I thought of the idea from the perspective of actually figuring something out. So, my thought process went like this:

My actual given name is Donald, but everyone basically knows me as Don. So, the first thought was naturally Donna. That had little appeal as it just hit too close to home. After being Don or Donald for 65 years, it didn't do much for me. The closest I had come previously was when I posted a question to a company like HerRoom.com. I would sign my name a D.. D. never struck me as an actual name. Something like the crossdresser formerly known as ... The next though was Dee, but that still felt a bit short. Then it came to me!!

I am a BIG motorsports fan. If it's loud, fast and requires conscious thought and desire to get in and drive the thing, I'm there. That's everything from road courses to 1/4 mile ovals, asphalt and dirt, F-1 to midgets.

I remembered that the name of Mario Andretti's wife is DeeAnn...and that was it!!

Elizabeth Marie
03-12-2014, 08:21 AM
I asked my mother once what I would have been named if I was a girl, hence Elizabeth. I just like the way Marie sounds with Elizabeth as a middle name. If I'm asked for a last name, I generally use my real one.

CassieD

I could never make my mind up so I went with what would have been my birth name if I'd been a girl. I've sort of grown into it.

Ginger Jameson
03-13-2014, 04:33 PM
I decided that Lady felt more like a title or descriptor than a name, so my wife and I went through books and picked a few that I liked. I really like Britney and stuck with it, although the Britney Spears connotations almost stopped me. If Britney spears had never existed I might've ended up with a daughter named Britney. Also, I'm a fan and don't want people thinking I picked the name because of her or because I want to be her.

KristinaP
03-13-2014, 06:09 PM
Kristina is a variation of my given name. Wife prefers Kristine so either or but I do like Kristina a bit better. Need to come up,with a middle name that starts with S as I want to keep the initials but am lost on that one :(

The only way I could think of a name was through a process of elimination
All the women I have ever met and who would I like to be like & had the same
Style in clothing as me . And one of my mums friends won Debra a Georgeous
Kind and lo ing woman with great style . Just a enough sexiness and class .
So there you have it how I got my name <3

I always liked the name Jessica. Always sounded cute and flirty to me.

Emilyl
03-16-2014, 01:12 PM
I'm not sure if this is strange or not but my name if I were a girl would have been Emily. I chose to develop this personality from a younger point in life little by little but never truly acted on it until now. I play her as a character because I enjoy Cosplay so much. It's really opened me up to my Feminine side though and I believe I owe it to that early pre-destined motivation of a different person. Nice to meet everyone though. :-)

Tami
03-16-2014, 02:36 PM
Just the female version of my name, but think I will alter it to Tami.

MarcellaMcNul
03-16-2014, 03:00 PM
Half way through creating the account to join this site I was asked for my femme name. Up until then I hadn't settled on one but needed one to continue. MarcellaMcNul is an alteration of a High School sweetheart.

This was fine until 5yrs ago when I met my accepting GF who apparently took exception to the origin of said name and promptly changed it to "MiMi". This is how she refers to my other self.

After noticing that both names contain two M's, I sometimes like to use the name Emma. Other times I also use a sort of hybrid of my given name and the Emma name which comes out as Jzemma (Jay-Is-Emma).

So the real answer from me is....I can't really decide!

Diana81

I like it and it's very similar to my name.

Hell on Heels
03-17-2014, 12:36 PM
Kristyn is a name that wasn't on the friends and family list. I know that I've met a few GG's with the same name, probably with a different spelling, who knows, I think it fits, and am very happy with my choice. Hell on Heels is a completely different story! but really it's just the title of a song I like.

My Parents must have knew something when i was born, they gave me a name that is both male and female, just change in spelling. Jean. i guess it could be worse, but i will stick to it for the rest of my life.

My female name is Enava (please call me Ena), I first used it in college; it came from an exchange student I was friends with in high school. She was always graceful and classy. I saw her at our ten year reunion and told her I had “adopted” her name when I dressed and she was thrilled! All she wanted to know was how long I had been into wearing women’s clothing. We talked all night, went for a drink and ended up having GREAT sex!
Seeing this thread made me think of my first month or so away at college, when I first started becoming “Ena.” I was SO super scared that someone would find my wig, makeup, and other clothing I had bought the first day I got settled in my dorm room, but I could not stay out of them. I got (and continue to get) so excited just by the feel of a pair of thong panties, or a bra under my hoodie.
Sorry for the long post, but I am just so happy to have found this site, and maybe (fingers crossed) find some friends to help me be more feminine, and maybe even play dress up!
Love, Ena

Zoe60
03-20-2014, 06:36 PM
Zoe - sounds a bit fun and carefree (which I'm not). It suggests something as far away from my normal personality as you can get - the way I felt when I dressed up and wore makeup.

Cynthia Satin
03-24-2014, 09:01 PM
Cynthia... the name of a gal I longed for in my college years, who was a major flirt, teased me incessantly, but always went home with another guy. I'll never forget when she showed me a pair of panties she had gotten for Christmas... pale green satin bikini cut with a bit of lace around the edge. She always wore these short, pleated skirts. I still get misty-eyed thinking about her. I sometimes pattern my dress and poses after her.

roxielives
03-25-2014, 11:17 AM
I wanted a naughty first name and a girly last name. I also didn't want a name that would make me think of anyone I know personally. I've never met a Roxie, don't even know anyone else that knows a Roxie. How is Roxie a naughty name to me you ask? Well, since you asked, Roxie West is my favorite "actress" in the adult film industry. I really respect her work.....jk...just think the name is sexy.
I haven't settled on my girly last name yet.

Lorileah
03-25-2014, 12:15 PM
look up Roxie Hart. I think you will see you have picked a "bad girl" name :)

Talisker
03-25-2014, 12:27 PM
I knew a Roxy who certainly lived up to her name. Very cute mild goth who liked bad boys.
Never been to a roxy but something bad (as in dead) or naughty (as in non bible approved) has always happened behind them in books ive read.

Talisker because i like the taste and dont need another name but needed some letters (numbers arent allowed on here). Found out later its also a mans name on a small scottish island but there arent many of them.

Erica Grace
03-25-2014, 12:27 PM
Erica is both my the feminine version of my name and the name I would have been given if I were born female. Grace is after my grandmother whom I have never met, I also like the way it sounds as a middle name.

KayleeAnn
03-25-2014, 02:37 PM
I chose the name Kaylee Ann basically because I really like the name. I knew a girl once named Kaylee and I just felt like that name sounded amazing and also fit me too.

Helena Gwyn
03-26-2014, 05:14 PM
The first name to pop into my head was Helena. I don't know why, but it felt nice. I looked up it's meaning and apparently it means 'light', which I liked, so I stuck with it.
For the last name, or second name, I searched for something that would mean 'holy' or 'fair' or 'white', so that I would have a name meaning something divine or somewhat fairytale-like. I came across Gwyn, a name with welsh origins, meaning all of the above. It sounded good, so I stuck with that as well.

Much to my wife's amusement I regularly talk in my sleep.

In a bid to have a ready made excuse should I talk about my female side, I decided to use the name of a TV celebrity here in the UK. Fortunately she happens to be a strong and independent woman, something I aspire to be.

Weak I know but I do like my name

chrissycd89

Male name is Chris, so Chrissy just seemed natural

My mom wanted four kids (only got two before divorce), and the fourth was to be named "Deborah." I figure part of me is the daughter she didn't get to have, so I adopted that name. Seems to fit! :)

Candi just feels right to me. It makes me smile.

Camilla
03-27-2014, 05:24 PM
Camilla just because is the right name for me, since I started crossdressing when I was a kid...always in my mind.

RachelCross
03-28-2014, 02:09 PM
I loved the tv show "Friends" and if I could have been any woman it would have been 'Rachel'. I loved her style and, of course, the hair. "Cross" just seemed to be a good fit to Rachel. It was only after I decided to go with Rachel Cross did I realize cross is a play on being a crossdresser. Meant to be I guess. :)

Julie Almoni
03-28-2014, 03:54 PM
I went to a first ever outing in my life to a CD event in a local pub last week, and I just had to pick something :-) I picked a first name that I liked that none of our friends and family had. So Julie it is :-) No I have to rename my username somehow...

Kristyn Hill
03-29-2014, 09:55 AM
I always loved the name Kristyn so when I accepted myself having half of a girl inside me the rest was history.

03-29-2014, 10:36 AM
When I was 14 or 15 I met a beautiful girl at a wedding called Julie. First crush, and the name stuck with me through all the other teenage crushes. While I doing counseling to make myself whole again (after a disastrous marriage), one of my pieces of baggage was a tragic birth. I survived, but my twin sister didn't. Julie seemed a beautiful name for "my twin". So crossdressing is really "just be julie too" Be both. Me and her. Let her live the life she didn't get to live.

My male name is Chris. For years I used the name Chrissy when en femme. Before coming out to my wife, I ordered some gifts for her from Victoria Secrets, who then started mailing catalogs addressed to Christina. So my wife has been calling me Christina ever since whenever I crossdress.

Mine actually has no ties to my male name. I've always figured you're not give the opportunity to choose your own name, so I wanted to see what I liked without being pigeonholed by my given name (not that there's anything wrong with that, please do not get me wrong). I've always liked the name "Stacy", but I didn't want to keep the spelling, so I instead went with Stacie.

The simple answer is that my folks told me that if I'd been born a girl, they were going to call me Elizabeth. I'm kinda fine with the fact that I was born as a boy, but Elizabeth just has so many more permutations when it comes to choosing the name you prefer :)

Tasha was somebody I worked with. She was attractive but I wasn't especially attracted to her, there were other attractive women. She was pretty cool most of the time, I really don't know why I thought of her when I came up with the name, I guess I just liked her name.

LexiMD
04-08-2014, 02:46 AM
My name is LexiMD. 30yrs ago, i worked as a CD Dominatrix. In those days, My "working name" was Domina Antoinette. "Toni" to all of My friends. When i retired from the "Pro-scene" i retired Antoinette as well. 3years ago, i returned to the "lifestyle" and needed to "re-invent" myself. Hence, a brand new name and persona. Alexya Spykkhur, and since i have a doctorate in vanilla life (and i live in Maryland) LexiMD for short.

joansnix
04-11-2014, 04:04 PM
I took my girl's name from a friend of my wife. Once when we were visiting her she was taking her washed lingerie out of the drier to fold and put away in her drawers. I noticed that she had very pretty lacy knickers and wished I could have worn a pair of them. So that made me choose the name "Joansnix"

Trinity Sue
04-11-2014, 11:29 PM
Sue was my original cd name taken from my neighbors daughter that I borrowed the undies and bras from . Trinity was a name I heard once and I liked the sound of it and seeing there is already a Trinity here I used Trinity Sue :)!

JamieLynn1951
04-12-2014, 03:35 PM
I wanted something completely different from my real "male" name. I went with a derivative of Jamie Lee as in Jamie Lee Curtis. JamieLynn!

04-13-2014, 10:12 AM
Chrissie my nick name was given to me by my mom instead of Chris. I think they just teased me because I would never get my hair cut, but the name just stuck can't remember the last time anyone in my family called me Chris.

Michelle is close to my male name. My closest gg friend named me that after putting makeup on me the first time. :-)

Tami Monroe
04-15-2014, 07:47 PM
Tami, with this particular spelling, is a name I came acoss in the early 1990s, and I thought it fit me perfectly. My boy name is Carl and I never liked being pushed into Carla or anything like that. My dressed persona is completely different from my drab persona, so therefore, I felt the name should be completely different.

Tennessee
04-15-2014, 09:49 PM
Tennessee Celeste also known as Tennie C or Tennie. After my great, great Aunt Tennessee. She and her sister Victoria were American suffragettes best known as the first women to open a Wall Street brokerage firm. Tennie was also a crossdresser, often dressing as a man.

Lyndal
04-16-2014, 08:40 PM
Hi, I picked Lyndal because it is a name I like and veryclose to my male name Lionel, so I don't run the risk of ignoring someone when they call me by my girl name.

RayanneA
04-17-2014, 06:01 PM
And like many here, it is based on my male name. At least the first part of it. But I'm getting old and set in my ways, so if worst comes to worst I answer to Ray no matter how I am dressed.

04-17-2014, 09:16 PM

Charla McBee
04-21-2014, 03:34 AM
When I first signed up here a few years ago I was absolutely in total hiding so I went by Agnieszka Irena Svetlanova because I am half Polish and at the time I never wanted to be found. I've gone by other names in other places but none of them ever really felt like me. I'd been lurking about contemplating my return to this site for a while now and I wanted to switch to something very close to my real name to mark the occasion and my new mission of self-acceptance.

As a writer and a gamer I often utilize behindthename.com to come up with names for characters. It's also great for CDers giving you a good look at all the variants to your given name, female or otherwise. Well short of giving you that, I was left with Charlotte for which I think I'd need an old-fashioned hoop skirt or Charlene (my probable name had I been born female) for which I think I'd need some daisy dukes. In my most recent search I came across the rather rare variant Charla and that just struck me as perfect. It's such a simple change to the real thing and yet I feel like it completely feminizes it, changing the whole pronunciation. I'm probably still a Charlene if pressed but please do call me Charla.

As for the last name, it's an abbreviation of my real one. I'm still hiding but I don't really want to anymore.

sexyMarissa
04-21-2014, 05:40 PM

Bonni my name no rym no reason

sexycindy
04-22-2014, 09:50 AM
Unsure whether I put my story or not. But I am Cindy Smith for a bit of reason, when I started dressing I never thought of the fact that I would need a name until I started online and needed names and usernames so I sat and wondered. Then remember a friend I lost touch with whom had problems with coming out as a lesbian and I was her only friend through it all, and had we still be in touch she would be a great support, and her name was Cindy. So she is supporting me in a way.

The surname was a tricky one as a couple of sites asked for a last name and I didn't pick Smith for the genericness of it, it was because I love Doctor Who and though I would tip my hat to his name of John Smith.

I was paying with the name Hannah, but I have a few friends with that name and didn't want to explain to them why I had chose the same name if I ever told them. Also it was the name of a girl I used to fancy.

Stacy Cruz
04-22-2014, 06:26 PM
Thinking about it the first time I felt like I was jealous of a GG she had beautiful white lingerie garter and all. So I chose a name that reminded me of that time and the moment that probably got me started.

DonnaCD68
04-23-2014, 02:51 AM
Much like I have read from many others in this posting, my name is based on my male name. But it does also go back further than that. When I was young, 8 or 9 years old, my parents told me that had I been born a GG, they would have named me Donna. So it just made too much sense not to use Donna. And much like others also posted, its easy to answer too either. Funny thing is, I've caught myself literally saying "dammit Donna......." Like I said.....it just made sense! Muah !!

TinaZ
04-23-2014, 05:03 AM

KittyD

At first it was just Kitty D which I use as a stage name for my comedy act & use as great cover as a CD which allows me to put my face out there & have fun. As the character started to mature, so did I and the name changed to Kathleen Dawson.
Or Kate to my closer friends, but most call me Kitty :)

Jaime Johnson
04-24-2014, 01:39 PM
My name was given at birth. The feminine version "Jaime" was what my lovely sisters would call me when they wanted to get a rise out of me. They always thought of me as one of the girls. I guess they were right. :battingeyelashes:

ophelia
04-30-2014, 07:26 AM
My name here came out as it did because I didn't proofread before pushing "submit". I wanted a classic name from literature with a tweak added. So in all haste, Opheliac, became merely Ophelia. Anyone know how I fix it?

05-02-2014, 08:03 PM
It's a name I've always liked. It's pretty, feminine, and easy to remember. I love feeling feminine as much as I love feeling masculine, and I wanted my girl name to strongly reflect femininity.

lpjamey

jaymee144
05-08-2014, 11:38 PM
My female name is Jaymee. I thought a long time about actually using my regular name (Jordyn) since not only is it a uni-sex name to begin with, but it already has a more feminine spelling. I think I just needed another name for this side of me. I think if I began incorporating Jaymee more into my every day life I might just stop using the name.

redwildberry7
05-08-2014, 11:57 PM
Isabella. I just love the way it sounds is all. I really have no other reason. I did intentionally avoid common names, or names of female friends I have, because I wanted to be my own person without any hint of influence. I did not want to bias my own appearance in the least bit. I am me, and no one of my friends have my name, thus I am original. Yay. :) +1 for me. lol.

shimmeryphantasy
05-13-2014, 04:49 PM
I never really had a female name.... back when the internet was young, there were chat rooms on Yahoo, and I found one that I liked a lot, it was a pantyhose chat room and everyone was really nice there , we would chat and watch the little 2 or 3 inch cam shows........ and since I liked pantyhose so much I would spell stuff with ph for the F sound.... and I came up with several names but they were more like screen names than real names.... shimmery phantasy, shimmery phascination , shimmery phreak , shimmery phetish, shimmery phixation..... I met a couple of girls for real from that chat room and they just called me Shimm ( kinda fits , its like she and him mixed ) when we were together lol .... since I am in a very small town and cant really have a female persona I never gave myself a real female name...... there is another CD forum that I tried to join the other day and they wouldn't let me join unless I had a female name.... they wouldn't accept Shimmery..... LOL

LittleMissJoanna
05-13-2014, 07:20 PM
I started without one, when in the closet it's not like it's really useful, but then I started getting more active on social media sites so I had to come up with one, at the time it seemed almost natural that I pick Joanna, I always liked the name, I think it is beautiful, not ****ty, it's more sweet and very feminine, I guess it's a matter of personal perspective on names and what impression they carry in one's opinion. But there are so many beautiful names, I've even thought of changing mine but I think it'd be too easy, I will stick with it for the rest of my life because I feel it's my name now. But I also really like, Rachel (my middle name), Hannah, Christina, Heather, Kate, Justine... if that helps anyone that's looking to get one right now...

Christina Sevilla
05-16-2014, 07:40 PM
I choose Christina since i just love the name. And people can call me Chrissy for short.

Kathryn R Jones

abby054
05-22-2014, 12:23 AM
Abby is actually my nickname in male mode. I am an electrical engineer who does weird stuff in my work. The origin of the nickname is the scene in the Mel Brooks movie, "Young Frankenstein" where Marty Feldman finds a brain for the monster. The brain is from someone described as "Abby Normal". My wife and daughter saw that scene and immediately the nickname stuck.

I also go by a middle name, Molly. I am an amateur historian. Back around the 1920s, the cops in New York and elsewhere called crossdressers "Mollies". To remember our ancestors, I adopted that middle name.

Laurelanne
05-22-2014, 01:44 AM
Ive also had many names thru the years . When I was young 12 or so My mom caught me dressed and said well I guess ill have to start calling you Laura (boy name Larry) It stcuck but there were sooo many Laura s.. so I chose Lauren after Lauren Bacall I idolized her look. WhisperTV
05-22-2014, 10:03 PM
I used to play online video games and would always make female characters. They're just more fun to look at. My most played character was named Whisper and I had already injected a fair amount of my personality into her. When it came time to pick a name, she really was my first and only choice.

tryingtoblossom
05-23-2014, 01:27 PM
Since reading and commenting on this post yesterday I have been racking my brain to find the right name for me. I think I found it for now. Victoria, it is my birth place and from one of the funniest movies I have seen starring Julie Andrews (Victor Victoria).

CrossJess
05-23-2014, 05:20 PM
My real name is Jessie but I get called Jess for short, my name was given to me by my mum as she desperately wanted a girl and as she had all boys and me being the last out and a boy I got the girls name.

Jessica would of been my name had I of been a girly, though Jessie is also used on boys as well, lol worked out quite well as it fits in so well with my crossdressing ways and as mum says i'm the girl she never had.

This is a fun thread to read. Well my story...

I started out nameless and had a girlfriend in college give me the name Desiree. This stuck while we were together but I never really liked it as it just didn't feel right. I went a while with my boy name, which is unisex, Shawn, and was comfortable with it, but didn't feel too girly. Then one day, a different girlfriend started calling me Charlene. This one stuck as it is un-mistakingly female, doesn't resemble my boy name, and I don't personally know any other Charlene's who are close friends. I like the initials it makes also, which could be a nickname -- C.C.

-Charlene

Tash, tasha or Natasha. My wife gave me the name. I guess it fits cause I still haven't found one I like

Heidi Stevens
05-28-2014, 10:09 PM
My name when dressed is Heidi Stevens. I arrived at my femme name by flipping my given and sir names and making adjustments. Heidi is close to my sir name and my first name is Steve, thus Stevens. I thought Stephanie was too trite.

Gailmiles
05-28-2014, 11:19 PM

05-29-2014, 02:50 PM
I chose the name Anne. Simple, feminine and very lady-like. Plus I always liked most of the ladies I know who are named Anne.

Renee Elise
05-29-2014, 10:46 PM
The first time I got totally dressed and made up, I thought of a sophisticated lady - Renee came to mind first. Elise was a possibility if I was born a girl...

ScarlettLox
05-30-2014, 04:26 AM
My female name was given to me by my wife and we both thought it stuck, Scarlett sounds just as natural to me as my given name, and i love it!

Elle1944
05-30-2014, 02:46 PM
I used to subscribe to Elle Magazine, a popular French Fashion Magazine sort of like "Runway". So I took that name "Elle", if my gender were female, Eloise would be my choice, but been using Elle for the past 35 years, yup I'm a "granny".

Bryanne
05-30-2014, 06:32 PM
A more feminine version of my given name. Not too exciting or original I know, but I like it.

LeeAnne
05-30-2014, 11:21 PM
Hi all, I'm LeeAnne, a take-off of my middle name Lee. No special meaning, I just liked it. :)

Andi1979
05-31-2014, 06:08 PM
My name is very special to me. It was give to me by the most amazing woman I could ever dream to share my life with. I came out to her last fall and it is a bumpy road. We are making it through. I love her so much. Anyway, she came up with Andi as a play off my middle name so it is still part of me, it is casual and playful. And the 1979 part of my user name is the most wonderful year. It is the year we met and I fell in love with her. So Andi1979 was born.

I picked up Amy from a person I respected.
I then went a bit further, and chose May as my

of Amy, and it is the month I was born in. I also
close my last name Jackson.

I think I have finally come up with a name: "Charlotte Allison Morris" (full name there). I was looking on baby name sites and found one that stated that "Charlotte" was one of the most popular first names for girls on the site. My birth name is Wayne Allen Morris. What do you think of it?

Tannis
06-04-2014, 11:14 PM
I like to call myself Tannis. Actually been a lot of interesting developments lately... just recently my wife found out I like to crossdress. She accepts it, and is slowly helping me dive deeper into this.

Feels weird man... very unsteady. Been keeping this a secret for SO ridiculously long, my mind's still not sure what to do with the fact that someone *knows*.

Just recently was my first time wearing makeup of any sort in public.

susand262
06-04-2014, 11:26 PM
My chosen name is Diana, because I thought Princess Di was so beautiful and dressed so well. I changed my name for a short while to Susan after my mom died. She never knew about my crossdressing , but she told me that before I was born that they thought I was going to be a girl (little did they know) and they where going to name me Susan. So I changed it, but I always felt Diana fit and I changed it back. Unfortunately this site doesn't allow you to change your name and so it remains Susan here but in my heart it's Diana.

I chose Katy because.. uhmm... I love cats. To bits!

Long story, but if you want a quick connection, its a diminutive of Katherine. As is Kat, which sounds like cat, but I like Katy. Simple! :P

Tatiana is a nice name. I love Russian names.

What does "Katy" have to do with cats?

khaleesie

Although my screen name here is Khaleesie, my alternate persona came from my wife. I've had many cute little names for my wife over the years that are based on cute characters and such. Several years ago, she forced me to watch Shreck. I really wasn't interested but what the heck. I begrudgingly began to watch it and within a couple minutes I realized it was fun for both adults and children and had a pretty awesome story line. She sometimes calls me Shreck and I call her Fiona, among other 'pet' names.

After many years of marriage (around 25 years) I was finally able to start including my wife in my alternate persona world (been totally closeted for years, but still only do this in total privacy, but now with my wife). When I started exploring the forums I realized that many took on other names for their second persona, so I decided that I should talk to my wife and see what she thought. She gave me the name, Fiona....

Hello,
I picked my enfem name PinkPenny. One is I love the color pink which to me is very feminine. And two I chose Penny because that is my wife's name. So I love the color pink and I love my wife Penny!
Made perfect sense to me.

This was extremely hard for me as I knew a female by every girl name I liked or tried out, so I let my wife pick for me; Melody

Kellikastle
06-10-2014, 01:31 PM
This is my first post here, It seems fitting to start with my name.
My name is Kelly, I did not "choose" it, that is my name. I go by Kelli Kastle, for many years I owned a entertainment venue in Oklahoma, called The Hidden Castle. I dressed there publicly and often, hundreds of people saw me dressed, that is a story in and of it's self. I kept getting asked what name I went by while dressed, I always said Kelli, I am still me just in a skirt, and would joke "I just spell it differently". One evening a wonderful woman who I had known for many years was in the club and had some one ask her who I was, she said, 'That is the owner, Kelli Kastle". I have used the name ever since. She has recently passed away and I will always and only use the name she gave me that night.

Hi Ladies. My female name is Carmen and this is my very first post. Yay! I'm so excited to be here and looking forward to sharing my thoughts with other CDs.

Mishell
06-10-2014, 02:39 PM
Mishell.. I actually left off the e at the end but then found out it worked.
It's close to my male name but it relates to me as in, my shell, (dressing privately at home). Though its pronounced like Michelle.

nadia

I never realize you could give yourself a female name.. I love the idea!! And I choose Nadia, I just love that name :)

BeatriceBlack
06-10-2014, 07:07 PM
The story behind "Beatrice" is fairly convoluted, starting with the online handle "Black And Burgundy" and shifting to an alliterative proper name while I was on IRC, Beatrice when I'm feeling ladylike and Betty when I'm feeling more girly.

And it isn't the femme name I'd go for if I came out, which is Grace (a play on my male name).

Jessy Jamz
06-11-2014, 05:40 PM
I have been using the name Jessy or Jessica since I was in high school. I added "Leigh" a several years ago, so my full name is Jessica Leigh. Jess is similar to my given name, which is Jeff, and I guess that's the primary reason I picked it. When I was younger I knew an awesome, accepting and beautiful girl named Jenny Leigh and so that where the Leigh comes from. I usually go by Jess or Jessy or Jessy Jamz, which is a nickname given to me by a friend. I don't dislike the name Jessy but if I were to pick a name now it would be something else...but at this point Jess has been with me for so long I just can't let it go.

~JessM~

I asked my mom what she would have called me if I was born a girl many years before I started CDing publicly, So it only felt right to go with Jessica.

I am brand new to cross dressing and I immediately was attracted to the name Alexa. It makes me feel sexy and confident. Not a big story behind it, but I love my name :)

I chose Susan. Because my first "crush" was a girl named Susan. Oh, and she was a cheerleader. :)

Jenna is a play on my real name so it's easy for me to identify with. It's also a very popular name with girls my age so it makes me feel like I "fit in".

KaylaRoxx
06-16-2014, 12:52 AM
my girl name is a feminized version of my given name, which is Caleb. Since i was really young id often get confused and think someone was talking to me if i heard the name Kayla get called in school or wherever. At one point shortly after i started crossdressing i realized that if i dropped the "b" sound off the end of my name it became a girl's name, and it's stuck ever since. it just feels right. I've gone through a bunch of different last names that never quite seemed to fit my personality. one day a little while ago i was trying to think of a last name that fit and sounded right so i could make an email account so that i could sign up on pinterest without having it connected to my male persona and i wound up thinking to myself "hey, any name i pick will be good. after all Kayla rocks!" and bam, i got the last name Roxx.

Hermana
06-16-2014, 12:55 PM
A thousand ages ago I was a member of a now-defunct site known as Filterpost, posting in a little corner of it known as "Men and Bras". I wanted a name for myself on that site which would indicate the feminine side of my genetic male self. The nearest I could come up with back then was Herman. Although at first glance a male name, I saw it as having the vibes of a balance of female ("Her-") and male ("-man") energies. As luck would have it, I began to study Spanish at the same time. When I discovered that the Spanish name for "sister" was hermana, I quickly added the "a" suffix and that is the name I have had ever since. I also realised quite quickly that it is probably the perfect name for a private online life. Google hermana and you get millions of results (Spanish is very widely spoken). Somewhere in the millions is me, unrecognised...

Saepe
06-16-2014, 09:46 PM
I haven't really picked a female name for myself, although there are several I'm fond of. For this forum, I picked the handle Saepe because it's the name of a character from something I'm working on, and because in Latin it means "sometimes" or "repeatedly". The character got that name because she comes back to life over and over, but I like to think for me it refers to how often I'm en femme.

But I haven't picked an actual name for myself because I don't really like being limited to just one. For example, whenever a barista or server asks for my name, I always just make one up on the spot. Maybe it's fear of commitment. Maybe it's fear of making "this thing that I do" more real than I think it is. Hmm...

Amy Fakley
06-16-2014, 10:00 PM
in my real (dude) life, my name is Drew. You'd think for a crossdresser, this would be ideal as it's a name that could go either way (exhibit A: Drew Barrymore, exhibit B: Dr. Drew) ... I tried going by that in girl mode a few times but it never really felt right. My girl side is different, and I never liked my boy name that much anyhow. Of course if I wanted to go drag queen ... I mean ... "Drew Fairymore" ... I mean c'mon ... hey, that's just perfect! But I'm not really into drag, LOL :-)

One day I was walking through one of the neighborhoods adjacent to my own, and I saw a mailbox that said "Fakley". I thought to myself, "that is just a wonderful southern sounding last name, and also it sounds a little fishy, perfect!". I never met Mr or Mrs Fakley, I have no idea who they are, but in that moment I decided to appropriate their last name, LOL.

As far as "Amy" goes ... that's even more random, if you can believe it. I'm sitting at work and someone shouts over the cube wall "Hey Amy ...", except they were clearly talking to me. They corrected themselves of course, but in my mind I thought "hey, you know I kind of like that ..."

Then one day our very own Katey the moderator PM'd me and was all like "you know you can change your username right" and I was like "ORLY?!" :-)

My femm name changes between Britney and Tiffany. They both make me feel feminine and, I guess, Britney is the ****tier sounding name. Thanks to B Spears.

I used to go by Mona Lott. But I thought that sounded too much like a stripper. :)

Amanda L.
06-20-2014, 05:22 PM
I chose Amanda because I am A...man...der (a bit of creative license with the last syllable).
I was going to to go with Amber, a name I really like, as it is the color in between red and green on a traffic light. If red is female and green is male Amber fits nicely in between.
Anyway I also think Amanda is a cute name.

Jenny Miller
06-21-2014, 06:02 AM
I actually never really thought about having a female name until I needed a username for my account here. I went with Jenny because it is similar to my boy name so I figured it would be easier for me to recognize it when someone is addressing me. It's also fairly popular with girls my age so that worked out nicely as well. I went with Miller because I wanted to use a name that is fairly common and it was the one that stuck out for whatever reason.

Samie
06-21-2014, 12:02 PM
I have had a few female names in my past but Samie just fits me. I have went from exotic (you should have seen some of them) to common when trying to find the real name that fits....yep, Samie

I chose to adopt Linda as my name cause my parents would have gave me that name if I would had been born as a GG. The catch behind the name is that my brother is named Paul. So we would have been Paul and Linda McCartney.

06-25-2014, 01:21 PM
I had the name Caitlin Dupont already as some friends and I needed to come up with a fake girl to prank a buddy, way back in highschool and the sneaking around trying on moms clothes days. :)
Later when my crossdressing took off I adopted it, fit perfect as the initials were CD. Have since changed to Kaitlin as K is the first letter of my boy name also, and like it better.

When I was a little boy and learning to read I would mix up Michael and Michelle. Little did I know that was a sign of future contested names for me as well.

Paige Winslow
06-26-2014, 03:31 PM
So true, Nichola,
After all these years of looking at women, I realized I didn't want to have them, I wanted to be them. It's more intimate, sort of. "Paige" is a girl I had a crush on recently and "Winslow" is a pretty girl from my 6th grade. Funny, my real name "Alex" is gender neutral, but I wanted something different.

Ivie
07-01-2014, 08:10 PM
I just couldn't decide, at first possibly Summer after a name I'd heard in passing, then Jessica (after my wig!), none seemed right and recently I'd considered Lizzie Bryce after a local historic witch who is most known for a roundabout named after her! (That might tie down my location a little for some Scots ;-) ) Then I had the chance of going to Way Out in London, on the train there I decided to use Ivana that night, she's an alpha villianess in a story I'm writing. She's supremely confident, ironic a good description for any Whovians would be a mix between Riversong (there's a name for someone to use) and Toby Jones' Dreamlord! While I'm certainly not villainous(!) I certainly wanted her confidence and sense of self going off to the club night alone. In the end cooresponding with a friend from that night (a sister of the changing room!) she suggested combining the two as Ivie, and by random chance it's close to my grandmother's name Ivy, and so here I am, Ivie...

Never even considered having a female name, but I suppose I would use Jessica if I were to use one at all. It's what my parents were originally going to name me if I was a girl, but later changed their mind because my last name has the same sounding syllable as the end of the name Jessica, so it would of sounded like Jessicaca and then my last name.

Also I always liked the name Jessica, and have been with several women named Jessica who were all very beautiful so I guess it stuck with me. Although it's not set in stone since I just thought to make one like.. right now lol.

I got my female name, Jamie, from my old girlfriend, jamie. She just changed the spelling of my name to Jayme.
a few years later, my female breasts grew out on my chest, my pregnant-looking belly grew, my already tiny thing
shrank another inch, my hips widened, and my already fat bottom grew another inch. I look amazing as a crossdresser,
and now I love being the new.....Jaymegurl. I'm having the time of my life in this new persona.

I just did two things that I have always wanted to do but never had the guts to do them, One was go into
a department store bare-ass naked.....in the daytime, and go into walgreens the same way. And here's the kicker,
there was a COP right outside both stores. And none of the people in these stores, CARED.

Two : I used to work for a grocery chain...in the general merchandise area, and never once was I even curious about
body hair removal. But now that I am furthering my crossdressing, every day, I just used the womens product NAIR for
leg hair removal, and for that silky-soft feeling, and, it works. All that ugly, dark, MAN-hair, CAME right off.
I now have really beautiful female legs. I'm so happy!!!!!! YAY!!!!! and I'll NEVER go back to having MAN-hair EVER again.
