Jolynn Harrison
07-10-2014, 07:39 PM
I chose a name that was pretty close to my real name Most people call me Jolynn, or Joey (my real name)... With 2 kids in college and paperwork, student loans, my business, Jolynn and Joey seems to fit. Being a drummer in a working cover band, everyone knows me as Joey. I picked Lynn because I love making the letter "L"......lol but true.

Kyrianna
07-11-2014, 04:52 PM
It just evolved from gaming... both D&D and computer games... I have an character name that i used thought my years as a login name for all games... then when paying the Sims I created a "sister" for him and Kryianna was born... She has had many incarnations and finally last year when i admitted to myself that I was a CD, I started to Identify my en-fem side as her/me!

Ashley Wray
07-11-2014, 07:46 PM
Mine came about 2 years ago it was a friends daughters first and middle name Ashley Wray I liked it and before I got to the point of dressing all the way I already had a name. And I think it's really pretty :)

My boy name starts with A, there is no female version of it. So I picked Amy,

Tanja
07-12-2014, 04:01 AM
My name is Tanja and I just feel it suits me. It is pronounced like Tanya.

Dannika
07-12-2014, 02:24 PM
I have always been fascinated by fast cars and sexy women so when Danica Patrick come on the seen with her sexy photo shoots I always felt that if I could be a girl for a day it would be her as I am thin and brunette . It has some similarity of my real name also.Hence Dannika!
Ok just getting to the big 10 post! seriously

Abby Lauren
07-12-2014, 07:06 PM
My first name- Abby- is close to my male name and is something I was called when people mispronounced it. My older sister expanded on this when she wanted to tease me and used to call me"Abigail" -which I secretly loved. Lauren is a version of Laura which was always my favorite girl's name. As a youngster, on rare occasions, I used to see a friend of my mother who was completely glamorous and her name was "Laura". So, here I am- Abby Lauren.

Johannakabam
07-13-2014, 08:20 AM
My name is Johanna and I love it, tried to change it so many times

johanna.kitten
07-13-2014, 08:47 AM
Nice - mine used to be Johanna but I changed it to the Italian version, Giovanna. As it is in my papers now. Sweet! I also had to change my surname and address (even country) for other reasons that I think you can imagine. Johanna is a pretty good name. Next time I might pick a Japanese name, it might also confuse the tax-man.

hazel
07-13-2014, 07:57 PM
My male name means 'husband', how ironic!! however I just a sweet, beautiful name for my self "Hazel". I named it after buying a pair of color contact lenses which was called so.

GwenB
07-14-2014, 08:34 AM
April Rayne,

well okay, just kidding on that last name. But it came right to mind when I thought of a last name for my female name of April. Not much thought given in that. It's just the month I was born :)

the username of GwenB was actually given to me by a domme. (she chose to call me gwen) So out of respect, I still use that.

Honestly, this is the name some of my family used to tease me with when I was a little boy and they thought I was being a sissy. I lived in fear of this name for decades. When I started to realize that cross-dressing is something I've been missing all my life, this name just seemed to be there waiting for me.

JocelynRenee
07-15-2014, 03:18 AM
I go by JocelynRenee, the name of my first girlfriend and a name I've always thought was beautiful and feminine. A few years ago it occurred to me that I needed a last name as well, so I adopted Williams, my actual middle name (plus an S).

I've gone by that name for 30 years or so, but recently I've been contemplating a name change. When my wife and I have a girls day out she will sometimes accidentally call me by my male name, Charlie. It's an understandable mistake and I once worked with a girl named Charli, so...still weighing.

07-16-2014, 03:23 PM
For Erin, it was actually something that came very quickly and naturally to me. One meaning of Erin is "peace". That fits so well for me as I get a wonderful sense of being at Peace with Erin. Also, it is said that "The influence of Erin makes you positive, self-assertive, and independent." Works for me !! :D

I wasn't sure how to come by a female name, myself, until it happened. I was training in another city, brought some of my finest girly things and decided to go out in a strange town. I nice gentleman bought me a drink and asked my name, and it jsut came to me...Petra, which is a play on Pete. My alter-ego has been that since!

My name was easy. I did not use one until about 15 years ago. When I decided to re-name myself I remembered the first time I wore girls clothes. I have two aunts that are just a few years older than me. When I was a young boy they were not yet teens. For whatever reason when I was visiting my grandparents, I bathed with one of my aunts a few times. She enjoyed touching and washing me in the tub which I thought was fun. She would place my hands on her but I was too young to know what was going on. Then I would go to her bedroom that was shared by my two aunts. The youngest aunt is the name I chose with my older aunt as my middle name. In their bedroom they gave me their clothes to wear with them we would play with dolls together. My parents thought it was funny at first then made me change and was told to stop that. A few years later my mom dressed me as a girl for halloween. I had the neighbor kids convinced I was a cousin from out of town and one guy wanted to kiss me. To this day my aunts remember that and reference it secretly on occasion. But they do not know that I still dress and now use their names as mine - Deborah Louise. I use my boy name as my last name. That's how my name came to be along with why I probably enjoy dressing.

Davida Kay
07-18-2014, 07:18 PM
I tried on several names until I sat down and purposefully chose a name. I used my male initials to start. Initials in place I searched the internet, baby name sites, etc. I was methodical. Names had to mean something special or stem from my male identity. It just needed to make sense to me and sound right. First name, Davida. Guess what my male first name is. Then Kay. Which is the phoebe tic sound of my male middle initial. I even chose a last name which is not posted with my user name here... Victoria. Same initial as my male name, feminine, and of significant importance to me. And a Queen! :o. So there you have it Davida Kay Victoria and it works for me. The real fun was practicing the signature on lovely stationary. Somehow Davida has prettier, more feminine handwriting. The whole process was fun and creative!

Laura J
07-18-2014, 07:20 PM
My female name is Laura. I justlike the sound of it.

Darlylong
07-19-2014, 07:55 PM
Darlene was a name that popped into my head when I started buying the clothes and realized how much friggin fun it was! Hence I go by Darly a lot.

LesliePinky

Anna, couldn't pick the name for the longest time, but when I was confronted and had to come up with something the name just came to me.

Melodie
07-24-2014, 09:09 PM
For me its Melodie, since at the time I was going through terrible drug addiction and self starvation from denying myself. music was my voice and taught me how to be myself and be honest.
I dedicate my life to music and I couldn't have thought of a better name <3.

Aldoreeq
07-26-2014, 02:19 PM
Mine came to me a few years ago Joann.

allisonagain
07-27-2014, 07:12 AM
I picked my name because it was a derivative of my male name and was the name of the girl I first had a crush on in jr. high school. Allison. I've been told it's a bit old fashioned for a name, but over the decades it's become my identity.

Alex Dorset
07-27-2014, 11:50 AM
When I was registering on this forum, I realised I needed a psuedonym, and had to come up with something fairly quickly!

Alex is a shortening of my middle name, and suitably androgenous for a cross-dresser. I've not used it since I started school - there were 3 other boys with the same first-name as me, so my mum and the headmaster decided I'd be called Alex at school. I wasn't against the idea, but I seldom answered to it, and it was soon dropped in favour of my first name. Dorset is a part of England that I'm very fond of.

It's not what I call myself when I'm dressed up. I don't feel that I become a different person - I'm still me, but I'm exagerating some parts that are normally invisible and playing down other aspects.

I wonder whether I'll find myself adopting a different persona when writing as Alex? Would I reply to threads differently when in drag or in drab...?

Crista
07-27-2014, 03:16 PM
Crista is a female variant of my real name. I knew a girl named Crista, same spelling, and I just loved the way she carried herself. So it was one of the most easy decisions I've ever had to make!

jillishy
07-27-2014, 08:41 PM
I just had to think of something quick to register that started the first letter of my male name and...i'm very shy

Wallinger
07-27-2014, 09:04 PM
I'm going to use Diana

willow-the-wisp
07-28-2014, 02:44 PM
I chose willow because when I c/dress I sometimes cry due to the lonelyness
of the situation. Hence the weeping willow

Anyway sad no more. Found others

TomboyBecca
07-29-2014, 02:46 AM
Mine is Rebecca. Becca for short. I've always had a loved that name, so I made it part of me.

xoMindyxo
07-30-2014, 05:37 PM
Actually, my then 18 year old niece and I came up with it.

Amanda (because I'm genetically A MAN, DUH ?) Later, I shortened it to Mandy.
Rae because I've always liked that middle name for a girl
Dahl, because I was told I looked like a doll in fem mode. ;)

I chose Stina. Its short and common in my country =)

jenni2313
08-03-2014, 09:02 AM
Right now it's Jennifer. It's the one name from my generation that has a common and unpretentious sound to it. Not to flamboyant, but feminine enough to not be androgynous. I starts with the same first letter of my cis name, but that's the only thing it has in common. It's also the least offensive to my SO.

brandyred166
08-03-2014, 09:06 AM
Mine is a play on my name. It was also something some of my friends called me in High School. It's funny because I never presented any female tendencies but a few of the girls just called me brandy to make fun of me I guess.

Anna Renee
08-03-2014, 09:44 AM
I am Anna because I love the name and Renee' as it is French for "reborn"...

Oh yes, and my last name Phillips came from a wanted poster at the post office. I was Renee' for years. Then around 1980 I decided a I needed a post office box to communicate with sisters. I went the Post Office and found I had to fill out a form! Whoops! It asked my name. No way could I use my real name or address...I might get busted. So I looked up and there was a wanted poster with a dude named Phillips. It sounded good so I became Renee' Phillips. My street address was a local church.

Andrea Payer
08-03-2014, 01:15 PM
i call myself andrea because i like this name and it's also the name of a woman who i loved some years ago.

charini.shermin
08-05-2014, 12:27 PM
Well.. I call myself Charini Shermin.

I wanted my name to tell the world who I was...what defined me......

So...after a lot of thought I gave myself this name....I want my girly persona to be all that I cannot be in my real life...

Charini...is a sanskrit buddhist name that means..... follower... disciple.... one who submits.....

Shermin...is an arabic word that means.....shy...girly.....

I have always been fascinated by Buddhism...so I gave myself a name that relates to it......

So the name of mine says all that I wish to be and want to be.....

I wanted to pick something feminine and nowhere near my real name. After spending quite some time, including, at the time, browsing the phone book (!) I decided on Annette. It may be a bit old fashioned now, but I like it and it has become a part of my femme personality. I am new here, and just posted a hello as a new member.

Annette

I chose the name Rebecca when I was in my early teens. I loved Kirstie Alley on Cheers and went with her characters name. I feel it just fits me.

Please tell us all how your came to choose or were given your female name.[/QUOTE]

Carolina
08-06-2014, 03:54 PM
Carolina, because of the two Carolinas I knew as a kid were older, slim, had long straight hair and looked very feminine. Ever since I associate Carolina or Caroline with feminity. I guess it is an aspirational name for me then...

Kelseyhunter
08-06-2014, 09:45 PM
Right now my name is Kelsey from a girl I used to date back when I lived in South Carolina. She was a very sweet person. She died in a car accident a few years back so I do it to remember her. I haven't told my wife that I chose a name yet. Hopefully she likes it.

Betty IA
08-06-2014, 10:50 PM
Right now I am Betty - name was given to me by my GF and so far I like it since there aren't any Bettys that I know of, at least under the age of 65.

The name says it all. Love to walk in high heels!
And it makes you tall

AnnieBL
08-10-2014, 05:47 AM
My mother desperately wanted me to be Annabel, but I arrived with the wrong equipment. My father died when I was two years old, and my mother then decided that I was the favored son and was to be the alpha male of the family, a role with which I had the greatest difficulty. Little did she know that Annabel really was there inside me, and she would have been horrified if she had known. When I finally was able to allow my inner woman to emerge and acquired other TG friends and acquaintances, I confessed that I wasn't really all that fond of Annabel as a name, and they started calling me Annie. So I amended my name to AnnieBL with the BL as a reminder of my origin. Sometimes now that Annie is a physical reality I feel that the BL may have stood for Before Liberation.

Paul to Pauline was the nice part for me.Moving from the quiet secluded Pauline to the more sharing, open Pauline makes for an interesting journey. Everything from where to buy to where to go. Open to advice and ideas.

Rose
08-12-2014, 06:39 PM
Rachel Rose. Rose is the name my parents decided on if I was born a girl. Rachel has just always been a favorite of mine, and it's kinda similar to my male name

lexivanderpump
08-12-2014, 10:24 PM
Lexi is the name of a childhood friend of mine. She was my first true love. I love wearing heels, especially pumps-hence the last name Vanderpump.

08-12-2014, 10:53 PM
Elisabeth's name comes from Betty of "My husband Betty (http://www.amazon.it/My-Husband-Betty-Love-Crossdresser/dp/1560255153)", well known book written by Helen Boyd. I bought it some years ago when I came out with my wife, to try to let her know that I wasn't the only crossdresser in the world.

Accidentally replied to a post instead of the thread. Derp.

I chose Dorothy. It's a spoonerism in sound, but not in spelling.
See if you can guess my real name. The answer will be below, just highlight it if you give up.

Highlight here for the answer ---> Dor-O-Thy ---> The-o-dore!

Mercedes
08-15-2014, 12:31 AM
The first female friend I told about my crossdressing helped me pick it out. My boy name also starts with M so it seemed a good fit. I am just not sure I look like a Mercedes but I aspire to.

Brandie.n
08-15-2014, 01:03 AM
my friends chose Mercedes because i crossdressed for halloween as a hooker.
i chose brandi

Kimkandy
08-15-2014, 04:26 PM
I like names that begin with K as my first love was called Karen, which I maybe prefer to Kim.

Kim is my cousins name, she never liked it, change then changed it back.

I also like Kate too.

This is your opportunity.

Please tell us all how your came to choose or were given your female name.

Tess is from a Russian novel

Hi how are you

Julie 29
08-16-2014, 01:02 PM
I choose the name Julie for various reasons. I went to school with a girl named Julie who's very friendly. It's rather very pretty and feminine of a name. Julie is French meaning softhaired, youthful, and beautiful. All the reasons that I liked the name Julie.

Hugs, Julie

Clodagh
08-17-2014, 06:19 AM
I chose the name Clodagh because it is an Irish name that I hadn't seen any other girl use and any Clodagh that i have ever met was very pretty and feminine.

Alexis Jade (AJ)
08-17-2014, 10:25 AM
I chose Sara because I was always told that would be my name if I was born a girl.

anna36b
08-18-2014, 04:20 PM
I decided on my fem name as Anna. Its a pretty name and I think it has a submissive fem tone to it (describing my fem nature perfectly!) and it doesn't hurt that my ex sister-in-law was named that as well and I found her to be just what I described-very fem and girly, quiet and submissive type....perfect match for me :)

08-22-2014, 09:41 AM
I chose my name because I always liked the mane Shelly

Nikkihughes46
08-22-2014, 10:01 AM
I chose Nikki since my real name is Nick...seems to fit and is comfortable

Ginger Jameson
08-22-2014, 03:55 PM
I've been Lady Gambrell on here, but the name just came from the old "first pet + street you grew up on" game. Then it was Brittany Gambrell for a very brief while. I love the name but when I finally introduced myself to someone with it, it just didn't feel right.

So here I am Ginger Jameson. Ginger because it's a sultry, old timey name and as a root its tart and spicy. Jameson from my male name and as a porn start joke.

Kris Avery
08-22-2014, 11:20 PM
I have always felt female inside. This name seemed completely right and natural.

Cassandra S.
08-23-2014, 05:09 PM
I chose Cassandra, because Cassandra Fever was a huge inspiration to me, I really admire her, and her looks. Plus I like the sound of this name.

WendyMoore502
08-25-2014, 10:33 PM
When I was a child - Wendy was my nickname (Which was a slight variation on my real name).
My parents started calling me by my real name fairly young - I don't think that they understood what it would mean later.
My grandparents called me Wendy up until they passed away (some habits just never change).

When I needed a fem name - I decided that I really liked "Wendy" and decided to keep it.

No one else in the family knows about this however.

phylis anne
08-26-2014, 06:31 PM
hmm well my current name is sissy phylis which worked when my underdressing interest was pretty much erotic my normal (?????) name is philip anthony so I am considering changing it to a more doable name of phylis ann as my tastes are now running a bit more conservitive
thanks phylis

Caryn Lynn
08-28-2014, 10:57 AM
Iv'e always liked the name Karen but i finally decided on the spelling as Caryn when i saw it used somewhere. And it since is also very close to my male name I knew that was it.

6inchheels
08-28-2014, 07:36 PM
I like Francesca. I don't really look like a Francesca though, but it sounds pretty.

I'm still having a tough time picking one, hence the generic screen name. I don't know that I really need one or anything, but I'm still talking about it so...

Della
08-28-2014, 11:48 PM
It's close to one of my names. I find it ironic that my real names creates gender confusion among others who do not realize that I can fill in the blanks and put last name first, and first last, and that others believe I cannot do to this simple task, and that others assume I am female because of my surname. I have always received mail addressed to "Ms." I also find it ironic that my given name is a masculinized version of a long-ago deceased aunt's name.

Tiffany Jane
08-29-2014, 12:45 AM
Tiffany was the first girl I dated that seemed to have all the girl look figured out. Granted was fifth grade but was lucky enough to "gone out with" twice. Jane is the middle name of my girl next door neighbor growing up. We were a year apart and learned a lot about eachother as kids growing up. Was as innocent and enlightening as kids growing up as siblings. She was also the one to get me to wear a dress for the first time with heels and a wig. Man how things change, the more they stay the same.

08-29-2014, 01:51 PM
The first time ever I was having my hair and make up professionally done. they were in the process of curling my hair, my wife looked at me and said, "You look just like Roxie Hart (played by Renee Zellweger) from the movie/musical Chicago. I thought, I like it. Then chose May for the middle 'cause its my fav month.

Blynda52
09-01-2014, 09:59 AM
Dated a Belinda many years ago, she loved her heels and hose as I do, so I took the name as my own.

partymon1
09-03-2014, 01:36 AM
Not a fan of my profile name. I used partymon1 as a user name here to ensure my privacy.
Too many haters that just had no clue in my life at that time...I've clensed myself of most them, but one can't always pick their associates.
My girl name is Richel.
I really like that name. I'm proud of it and, and it's all mine!

09-06-2014, 04:26 PM
Amber Lynn. Simply because a girl I knew in high school that was her name and I always thought it was so beautiful sounding

LeslieWelsn
09-07-2014, 12:06 AM
I chose my fem-name, Leslie Welsh, because "Leslie" is actually my biological father's middle name and I've always liked it as both a man's and a woman's name. My last name, "Welsh", is my family heritage or background. We are Welsh on my paternal side. So, there you have it. That is where the name, Leslie Ann Welsh, came from. My wife even likes it. :-)

Ellen2d
09-07-2014, 06:20 AM
I chose Ellen, a feminization of Alan

kendracd
09-07-2014, 02:01 PM
I chose Kendra, as a feminine version of Ken.

cdtasha
09-07-2014, 04:24 PM
Tasha was a girl I was crazy about, first woman who I not only wanted to get in her pants, but also get into her pants, if you catch my drift. We were about the same size and I loved her look. Wish it would have worked out.

Betty as Betty Page
Jaskova as surname cause a friend (girl) has that name and it means crazy / hilarious in Slovak.

I just liked the name "Darla", changed it from another years ago.

TammyTea
09-08-2014, 03:52 PM
Hiya all!
So umm... I'm brand new to the site and I've been dressing on and off for about 2 years now.
I've always liked two names, Tammy and Sasha. I never know which one to pick but Tammy comes forward more as a public name where Sasha is a more intimate name to me and I use it much less.

vicky_cd99_2
09-12-2014, 05:21 PM
Mine is Vicky, short for Victoria. It is a woman of strength. All the girls I know named Vicky are tough independent women. My "drag mother" if you will gave it to me because of my size and alternate life.

Mellisastocking996
09-14-2014, 04:54 PM
Mellisa,
A spelling error I guess but it's unique like me. The stocking, an obsession and something that comes from an early age. 996, you're going to have to guess that one ladies! x

AngelaYVR

The name Angela just came to me at a point that I was rapidly expanding my CDing. I never thought I would give myself a girl name but I really like it.

easy for me, leslie was always thought of as female, so to make it more obvious i just dropped the last 'e'.

I was having a lot of trouble coming up with a name for years; what I'm using these days was basically a variation of something I got from the random name generator for a fantasy RPG computer game and had the same initials as my real name, I may end up changing it again, but think I like the Cara part at least, so it might stick.

I chose the name Sandy in tribute to the one and only Sandra Bullock, whom I have always had a crush on.

Tania75
09-23-2014, 01:14 AM
Tania was chosen because my first girlfriends name was Tania. Interestingly enough she was the first person to dress me up in female attire, and she did it a few more times after the first. When you are young and in love you will do anything to please your partner.
Despite my protests at the time (a time in your life when you are trying to come across as a macho guy), I really enjoyed it. I wish she was still my girlfriend.

Was sat at home one evening with my wife when her daughter walked into the room asking which shoes / outfit combo her Mum preferred - I chipped in with my two penneth worth only to receive the response "look at you gossip girl" - my wife & I laughed at this at the time (I'd only recently started wearing panties in front of my wife) and I got to thinking about GG which inevitably led to GiGi.

Avrial
09-25-2014, 04:00 PM
My username, Avrial, is actually not what I go by. It's a name I made up several years ago. My wife and I would like to use it when we have kids, so I can't use it for myself.

I go by Quinn to anyone who doesn't need to know by real name. It's a true gender-neutral name, so it works in every presentation for me. I don't know how I ever came up with Quinn, but I started using it in college when people asked for my name.

Seeing as I am still very new to this I never had any hard thought put into my "other" name so I was just thinking and then Jessie just popped into my head. Still a guys name and a girls name at the same time. So I am content with Jessie :)

I remember my mother telling me a couple of times when I was growing up that if I had been born a girl she would've named me Danielle. So, I figured it was as good a name as any to use while en femme. I picked the last name Glass because I've always felt very fragile coming to terms with side of me.

Abigale
10-02-2014, 10:01 AM
Hi! Just joined, this looks like the place to start.
I’m not really sure why “Abigale” I think it was natural selection...
When thinking about a name for myself (usually our prerogative) I went through all the girl names I knew and if it conjured up an image of a girl from school/college/work etc. I rejected it, not sure why maybe I didn’t want her image in my head “getting in the way” of "me".
I don’t know anyone called Abigale and therefore I am!
On top of that I chose one of the rare spelling versions !
Abigale

What beautiful names here!

I chose Savannah as I did not know any Savannah's so it was unique for me and just kind of fit with my softer more ladylike side.

The Skye part I added as just "Savannah: was taken. Thinking quick while Agents of Shield was on, I added Skye...lol

I'll go with sophie when time comes and i grew the balls to do my first attempt at passing. Using the female version of my real name isn't an option. Sounds too strange and is complicated. I first thought about becoming Vanessa or Pia, but Sophie is best in my opinion.

I never really thought much about a female name as a closeted CD, only discretely wearing things under my normal clothes. I had a name or two that I had fantasized about, but did not give the idea of an actual female name until I decided to join the forum.

At first I used the last name of a character I would use in other forums, and picked a first name that sounded OK. But as I waited for forum approval, I found I didn't like it too much and thought of others.

I had always liked the movie G.I. Jane with Demi Moore about the first female Navy Seal candidate, especially her awesome comeback when they try to get her to quit. Her character in the film is where I got my name from.

Tori because I just fell in love with that name

Michelle1952
10-15-2014, 07:18 PM
I chose Michelle since it is like my middle name and I think it's a pretty name.

Alice-V
10-16-2014, 01:47 PM
I've always liked "Alison" and all similar names.
Then one time we had a 21st Century Fairy Tale dress-up party. There were princesses, wolves, little red riding hoods, knights, and fairies. After a short consideration I dressed up as Alice in Wonderland just for fun. I asked my wife for a dress that fit me, borrowed a wig, didn't really try much for anything else. I have to tell you I've had a blast that night. So the name stuck. Occasionally my wife goes "oh, Alice!" should I do something girly nowadays. And I find the name fitting my feminine side.

Lisa760
10-16-2014, 02:14 PM
I chose Lisa or Melissa after my favorite cousin she would always make me laugh when we were younger we were very close. She always was the one trying to dress me up even though I wouldn't ask her I would just let her.

jennifer_w

I had a friend when I was young that always looked so fem and desirable I wanted to look like her. She moved when we were in senior year of high school so my fem name is more or less my tribute to her as a good friend and inspiration.

Elizabeth

Sarina Curtis
10-21-2014, 11:48 AM
I chose my name based on one of my favorite singers/actresses here in Japan Sarina Suzuki and then Curtis is my middle name. Close enough to my real name that I'll respond to it and one that rolls over the lipstick easily.

My favorite lingerie to wear ever since I started at 10 was lacy lingerie and my mom had a lot of it which I loved to slip into. Once I realized how fem and attracted I was to dressing I needed a nice fem name and Lacy came to mind as think it's quite pretty.

Rosaliy Lynne
10-25-2014, 06:37 PM
Rosalie or Rosaliy, was based on a key ring I fond back in high school. The name was Rosa Lee I believe. I joined alt.com and needed a new me to reflect my coming out and an open honest, nothing to hide attitude. So I asked for Rosalie which was already taken. I simply changed the 'e' to a 'y' and viola, Rosaliy. My old gf was Sherry Lynne and I, for whatever reason, have always loved 'Lynne' names, with or without the trailing e or the double n. Rosaliy Lynne became my alt.com name and that served two purposes. Rosa was much more open even to accepting and declaring her underlying male basis for existence, and it kept that part distinct and separate from my undernet personna. Of course putting out my initial profile and pictures sorta revealed, what was over due to be known anyway, and pointing to my yahoo.com photo albums has removed the separation. The total name is terribly unique in that It was entirely constructed around my femme side.

Brianna works for me.Its a play off my given name Brian.

Alexis Jade (AJ)
10-27-2014, 12:31 AM
So as you can see I've had a name change. I've always loved the name Alexis. I do some fantasy wrestling writing and one of my character's names is Alexis Caffrey. Also, being a huge fan of the wrestler AJ Lee I wanted a similar initial type name. After some consultation with a friend, she came up with the name Jade. So there's Alexis Jade or as you girls can call me...AJ!

Thanks All,
AJ

For the longest time I was a crossdresser without a female name. Sometime in the '80s I was playing a text adventure game that allowed you to play it in either male mode or female mode. After playing awhile in male mode I decided to try it in female mode. When it asked my name I typed in the name of an old girlfriend. When the game started addressing me as Barbara it was the most incredible feeling. Like I felt this tingling down to my toes and all strange inside. And that's when my CD alter ego got her name.

Many years later I started dabbling in genealogy. Tracing back my matrilineal line was tough, but I got lucky and traced as far back as my 3x great grandmother, Barbara Driscoll. Of the hundreds of people in my family tree, she is the only Barbara I am related to by blood. So when I needed something to add to Barbara for this site, that was what came to mind. It's also a bit of a tweak at that side of the family - very religious and very conservative, and who, thank goodness, are not at all interested in genealogy.

Nikki for me, actually the name of an early girlfriend. Memories of a few Halloweens together where she was happy to see me dressed up

11-05-2014, 06:02 AM
I chose Luna because of a book of the same name I read years ago about a TG teenager. It was originally Amaryllis, but I was told by many people it sounded too picked even though that's what my mom wanted to name me were I born female.

Luna.

Ceera
11-05-2014, 08:59 AM
I picked Ceera as sort of a variant on Sarah. I wanted a unique name, liked how it sounded, and I'd never met anyone named Ceera. It didn't come up very readily on Internet searches back in 2002 or so, but it was a valid female name.

My real first name actually is gender neutral. I've met both guys and girls with that name (which is the name of a bird). But I wanted a clear separation between my female and male aspects, so I don't use any part of my real name as a woman.

11-05-2014, 11:17 PM
This really is a good topic! For some reason I had a hard time for years settling on a name.

Nothing that came to my mind ever seemed right. And it was really annoying: that girl in me somehow stayed nameless for quite a long time.

Then one day, I decided to imagine what my life would have been, had I been born a girl. So I started writing down this alternate life, and before I knew it, I found my name: Calliope. Because I'm part greek, because I love that name, and most of all it seemed totally natural and accepted it immediately.

So here I am. I am Calliope.

veronica

I spent a long time thinking about this one and to be honest it has changed a few times, I settled on the female version of my name which is Michelle, which is the one I thought of first anyway! I like it

I was a very shy and somewhat sensitive kid and if I shied away from something like diving into the pool or not wanting to make a tackle in rugby or say something soppy my Dad would call me a big Lilly, all in good humor and always with a smile or a hug. So it makes sense to me :)

11-10-2014, 09:13 AM
The name that I first started off with was DEE. I kept it for around a year or so and then decided that it wasn`t me.
So I changed it to Julie after a GG who used to deliver 3 piece suits to where I worked. She and I were about the same in height and build, so I thought that name is for me. She never new that she was my role model. I would love to be able to see her again over a coffee and tell her how I took her name.
Julie.

Evelyn S
11-11-2014, 09:39 AM
Evelyn was the name of a girl I knew in school. We were not close friends, but were polite to each other and had brief conversations here and there. She dressed how I wanted to dress, simple but stylish, and was kind to others in a way that I tried to emulate. I don't recall knowing any other Evelyn's, and this name stuck with me.

ChristyN246
11-12-2014, 10:43 AM
Christy was the name of a girl I knew in high school that was absolutely gorgeous. She and I became friends but never really clicked any other way. She told me one day that she thought feminine guys were super hot and I always tried to work up the courage to tell her my secret. Sadly enough she moved away before I got the courage to tell her. So I picked her name.

belindaH
11-12-2014, 03:51 PM
Being free to choose your own name is one of the great freedoms that trans folks have that cis folks do not. I used to call myself Allison years ago, after the Elvis Costello song. Later I used Linda after the Jan and Dean song. My first time in a group was a t-girl party. I announced myself as Linda and saw a girls head fall in discouragement. She was Linda! and thought there were no others in the whole world. I thought quick and announced that I was also known by my middle name Allison. That restored order, and a number of people in that room became good friends. They call me Ally, and once a name sticks it tends to stick, but I sometimes correct them. Belinda Allison if you please.

Dana Nichole
11-14-2014, 03:57 PM
Dana is close to my male name and the Nicole just seemed to roll off the tongue. Kept trying to come up with something else and nothing else seemed to feel right.

Melanie Z
11-14-2014, 11:02 PM
My name doesn't really have a good female equivalent, and even if it did, that probably wouldn't have been my choice. I knew I liked Michelle and Melissa, so I looked up a list of M names and came across Melanie. I really liked it it so that's what I went with. I notice it's not an uncommon choice around here. It's not set in stone, though.

sburnscoe
11-16-2014, 09:16 AM
I chose Suzanne thinking I could go by Sue, Suzy or Suzanne. My middle initial W is the first letter of my guy last name and Jeffries is derived from my guy first name. Like a lot of gurls (and girls too I guess) I wish at times I had chosen a different name but I have been Suzanne for about 12 or 13 years so I guess that's it.

Christina Alice
11-16-2014, 09:39 AM
Over 50 years ago (!!) I chose Tina Long. Tina because it was an aberration of my surname and Long because I was tall:doh:
A couple of years' ago, when I started to try and go out more, dressed, I changed it to reflect my own first/middle initials and started to use my own surname. That enabled me to get an extra credit card and other loyalty cards (like Nectar) to put in my purse using 'Ms' as the title. That way, it's almost the truth so authorities won't get too bent-out-of-shape about it. So here I am, Christina (a name I often wished I was called) Alice (a girl I really liked at Junior school).:daydreaming:

MichelleDevon

Two reasons for Michelle...one after my middle name, Michael, which I used to have trouble spelling as a kid - got the a and e wrong way round and my mother would correct me telling the way I spelt it was a girl's name, so Michelle seemed an obvious choice. And secondly there was a lovely lady I used to know on a different site and she, Michelle, was the first person I had something close to internet sex with - we had a shower together and very exciting it was; so my name honours that lovely young lady. My counsellor felt sure it was a Beatles connection but I had to assure it was nothing of the kind - although that is a great song...

11-19-2014, 07:56 AM
Hi all. Just and FYI I'm changing my name from Brittany to Jordan. One of those things where I was never in love with the name. It was a quick grab while on a chat in my early years. My GF really didn't like it for it. She chose Jordan and I have to say I kind of like it, seems a bit more fitting. And my thought is that I didn't get to choose my male name, why should I be the one to choose my female name. :)

RachelsMantra
11-19-2014, 10:58 AM
I chose Rachel because she was the first girlfriend I had in highschool. And she was extremely pretty. Im not totally set on the name - I need to try it on and see how I like it.

Rachael HK
11-20-2014, 09:25 AM
I chose Rachael, and I can't explain why, it just seemed right when I had to pick a name. And the spelling seemed right, too, with the extra 'a'. I've never had a Rachael as a girlfriend, don't even think I have known a Rachael--certainly not well. The middle name I'm not too sure of. I was going to go with Emily, but sometimes lean toward Christine...it's all intuitive.

Karyn Marie
11-21-2014, 06:01 PM
I chose the name Karyn with a middle name of Marie. Both are close to my real name, well, at least the first two initials are...giggle. I spelled Karyn with a y instead of an e because I like the spelling and it seemed more feminine to me.

Crystal Beth

Erica Rainbow 93
11-23-2014, 08:27 PM
I use Erica for my female name just added a letter to the end of my my old nasty not appealing non fem male name suits this gurl way better :)

CharlotteP
11-23-2014, 09:14 PM
My female name was actually inspired by a Gil Elvgren pin up of a redhead in black lingerie on one of those old fashioned exercise machines that does nothing but shake your body from side to side. It's the mischievous circumstances, and look on her face, I chose that as my persona, and she just seemed to be a Charlotte to me. The last name is just a nod to my female side being something of a french descent and Petit (pronouced just as it's spelled, Pe-tit) just jumped in there and worked for me.

So there you have it, Charlotte Petit was born and has been a very important part of my life for the past 8 years.

Hugs,

Charlotte

Mia Brankovic
11-24-2014, 09:57 AM
,

Hi there, I'm Mia, Mia Brankovic...and I'm from South Carolina (actually, no she ain't...but, that's the backstory;)...that's my voice test, for tone, volume, pace & accent. I'm just starting into this...I'm 49 yo...115lb & toned...

"Mia" is a shortened version of "Milla", the actress' name of the character from Resident Evil...'cause that bitch be smokin'!! She's an excellent female heroine. 'Brankovic' is the most common Macedonian last name (nope: I'm Canadian raised, British borne & Irish heritage) and is in honour of Alexander...The Great, and is somewhat similar sounding to the previous mentioned actress' last name.

take care & be well

I just always liked the name Vicki and the O'Shea part just rolled off my tongue one day out-of-the-blue. It stuck as a tribute to my celtic roots. :)

Cindi... Just short for Cinderella.. Hoping that my life will have a story book ending.

And Cinnamon, for spicing things up a little bit.

Joan Meredith, comes from the first leaders of my first and middle name. I settled on Meredith a long time ago, but only came up/out with Joan. I had to think a lot about it.

So this is me

I go by the name Amber because of another Amber I greatly admired many years ago. I always wanted to be like her and now at least in name, I am!

My IGN (in-game name) had Iris in it since circa 2012, and the name stuck among those who know me in person. This originated from the namesake Goo Goo Dolls song (the chorus is dead-on in hindsight). My real name is technically gender-neutral, however it isn't common as a female name.

12-10-2014, 08:45 AM
I've had a few different names over the last few years, I like to refresh things every now and then, keep in touch with where I'm at.
Bouncy is just such an aesthetically pleasing word - The shaping of the word itself pleases me on a typographic design level, and the word's connotations
just feel like an adequate representation of who I enjoy being - Fun, silly, sexy, energetic, all over the place!

NicoRobin

I use the name 'Nico' and Robin because, 'Nico' in Japanese is another way of saying smile or smiley ect. ;) and to be honest I think I have a good smile but I just don't use this very often to find out :) and the name 'Robin' comes from one my male name is Robert so I wanted something that began with 'R' and also I just love the name and feel towards the name 'Robin' and decided to place both them together :D

ashleymcculloch90
12-10-2014, 11:14 PM
I chose Ashley because it's a more female version of Ashton. And because I already would respond to it when teachers in grade school would just skim my name in roll call. Seemed natural I guess.

Debb
12-10-2014, 11:18 PM
"Deb" resembles my boy name in many ways .. and "Weller", well let's just say "W" plays a part in my name, too. Wish I could think of a nice, feminine, middle name that started with W ...

Clea
12-11-2014, 12:23 AM
I chose the name of a very close friend I had many years ago. We were so much alike in *almost* every way - lol :) And it's not very common, surprisingly.

I always thought it was a beautiful name, and it brings back nice memories :)

My real name is Richard. After doing some research about female variations of Richard I settled on Richelle.
I'm new here and although I've been dressing in the closet for over 50 years I am so happy I've found a place that I think I can be with friends.,

Laurie is just my real name with a couple or letters moved around, and a letter added. It seems to fit, and I can easily respond to it as my real name sounds close to it.

Pam is the name I choose because they were the initials of a married woman who I greatly admired.

I chose Konnie as it is derivative of my male name, but conveys a sense of femininity too :)

MakeupRox

I started with MakeupRox as a screen name because...well, it does. It this point it is looking like Roxy is going to be a winner for a while.

Carroll
12-20-2014, 05:27 PM
The first time I dressed in front of my with, she looked at and told me I look like a Carroll, and it stuck.

Andrea_cd
12-22-2014, 09:17 AM
I took the name Andrea from a very dear friend of mine who I think guessed I dressed a long time ago but never judged never said a bad thing we would talk about fashion and talk together for hours and hours , she is a lovely person and I honour her with her name

"Gabriela"

My name is a mix of my first and last name. I just like the way it sounds :)

ashleyn
12-24-2014, 08:48 PM
Well Ashley is a female variant of my middle name, and the n stands for Nicole (not a weird spelling or typo on my part with the screenname). No particular reason for the use of the name Nicole just liked the way it sounded.

ReallyRobyn
12-25-2014, 09:47 AM
I’ve chosen Robyn as it sounds soft and dainty to me, which is how I feel en femme. Additionally, it has some similarities to my male name.

Kelley Anne

I originally thought I'd go with Tiffany but after more thinking I decided to just feminize my real name by adding an extra E. Kelly to Kelley

Vanessa2014
12-30-2014, 02:42 AM
Vanessa is the name that struck a chord in me.

My two favorite female names have been Rachel and Rebecca--I once knew twin sisters with those names, but neither felt right.

I like the idea that I can create my own image, complete with name, unlike my birthright. I did the typical search of names on the internet but just didn't get that tingle.

Then, I looked up at my photo gallery in my office (I am a photographer) and saw the beautiful 20-something young women I photographed a few years ago. She looked similar to what I would have looked like at that age, and I liked the font I used for her name on the photo.

Zing! I knew immediately that I am Vanessa :-)

I chose Katherine because of my fascination with Katherine Hepburn. One of the best actresses

leggspantyhose

my female name is Rachel. I chose it because of the show" Friends" watching Rachel Green, who is Jennifer Aniston.

Karen62
01-02-2015, 01:46 AM
I just joined and was required to give a screen name. I had never considered a female name before, so I had to think it through. I didn't want to use a name of anyone I knew at work (to avoid any weirdly uncomfortable feelings when I go more public with this). I avoided family names for the same reason. I kept coming back to Karen. That was the name of one of my early schoolboy crushes (a devastating one, I might add!), and when I remembered that the character portrayed by the beautiful, sexy and hilarious Megan Mullally in Will & Grace was also named Karen, it was kismet. And so a new Karen is born.

Kandi Robbins
01-02-2015, 08:52 AM
I selected Kandi because it is the complete antithesis of me. I am pretty close to the vest and conservative, slow to open up to new things. I also dislike how names are often contorted with strange spellings. I also wanted to keep my initials the same (not sure why) and didn't want the name to be anyone I knew. So, Kandi (not Candy, a traditional spelling) was born. She's cute, open, loving, accepting, giving and, if I must say, a damn fine person. Anyway you know what, she is really helping me become those things too!!!

Katie Taylor
01-03-2015, 03:36 PM
I have always liked Katherine, Katie. To me a very feminine name. Many great and wonderful women with the name. Taylor is for Elizabeth Taylor, not much to say about her, except she was one of the most beautiful women ever.

Jacqueline Vivaldi
01-03-2015, 10:33 PM
Jacqueline became my name, because when I lived in Europe I became friends with a lovely, feminine woman by this name. I always wanted to be as soft, confident and attractive as she was. It is pronounced in the French way, and I have worked very hard to make my body look like hers....with some success.

Curiosity666

I picked Lucy in a hurried attempt to come up with an identity for a forum a while ago. The name is very similar to my male name, and hence, I figured, easy to remember.

Since then the name has grown on me. I've always just liked the sound and I've always hated long names. So awkward and clunky.

Angela 46
01-04-2015, 10:13 AM
I chose Angela as I think it sounds femanine, and that is exactly the way I want to, and do feel!!

lucyxcd
01-04-2015, 07:20 PM
I went for lucy as its pretty much my guy name and i feel my fem side should not be too separate as an identity. but i also went with tauriel as a surname because of the elf from the hobbit. :P

Jonna
01-05-2015, 12:41 PM
I didn't really have a female name/persona until I registered for this site. Jonna is an extention of my given name (one guess what that is), and it appears to be unique to this site which is good. I may decide to change it after more deliberate thought.

I picked Sarah as i have always found it a pretty name.

SophieBee
01-06-2015, 09:36 PM
I never really thought about choosing a name until I needed to register for this site. I thought through the names that I liked and they all reminded me of someone and I knew but I didn't want to be linking my femme side to someone in my male life.
Anyway I just didn't really know any Sophies and now I do!
Apart from that I just love the sound of the name.

Andrea Chenowith
01-07-2015, 02:43 PM
Well, I suppose it was bound to happen as my life changed, but I've decided on a name change. (It rolls off the tongue a little easier, and draws a bit less attention without losing any of the exotic cache.)

Erika Lyne
01-08-2015, 06:15 AM
My fem name is Erika Lyne, Erika is my first name or E for short. Unlike most people's replies, I did not name myself. I tried to but it felt wrong. My thoughts on a name seem to be a little different than most. My awkward feeling was because a person doesn't typically name themselves at birth. A friend named me Erika and my wife gave me her middle name, she also gave it to our younger daughter--so it fits. My first name (male) also starts with an E, this makes Erika appropriate. I couldn't go by the female name my mother would have named me if I were born a girl, it too would be awkward because I have a younger cousin with the same name.

Rebecca Leigh
01-08-2015, 07:05 PM
I have always had a special affinity for the name Rebecca. I remember when I was younger that I would always want to respond when someone said Rebecca or Becky. I guess she was always in me, just took some coaxing to let her out.

Laurelanne
01-10-2015, 01:15 AM
I think I replied to this last year, but ive not been out for that long,.. anyway My name LaurelAnne was picked by my mother, when I was 13 , she caught me dressed up and started calling me Lauren(my boy name is Larry) it evolved to Laurel-Anne. Ive also used Victoria ans Seana, but always come back to Mom s choice

Miss Melissa
01-11-2015, 09:17 PM
I've had so many names I've lost track! Originally I was Catherine, the name I would have been given if I was a girl. I've stuck with Melissa for some time now though.

Melody A
01-12-2015, 01:18 AM
For a long time, I called her Tori simply because I love the name Victoria. The more she evolved and the more I could see her personality come out, I decided she needed a name that was a better fit. Now I'm going with Melody.

katieh
01-12-2015, 02:48 PM
My name - Katie H. Marion
I always liked the name Katharine, probably because of Katharine Hepburn (notice the spelling, Hepburn spelled it with two “a”s). I always loved her independence, intelligence and femininity. I try to present myself with her self assurance and demeanor. I like Katie for day to day use. I think it is less formal and gives a more relaxed and fun presentation.
The middle initial H is from an old family name.
How I picked Marion is somewhat random. I was thinking about names during a drive along the South Carolina coast. I had decided on Katie and the middle initial H but needed a last name. Just then we passed a sign announcing we had just entered the Francis Marion National Forest. You can't ignore a message like that; so I became Katie H. Marion.

I do love the name Christina and the nick name Crissy for short. I choose it because it's not far from my birth name. I am who I am! :)

Not sure why but I've ways liked the name Emma. And it can be shortened into Em, which I think is a cute little nickname.

Nicole T
01-14-2015, 03:13 PM
I have to admit to not having considered it before signing up here. However, I really like the name Nicole, so here we are. Funny how we get to choose our own names now - if I had any input on my parents' naming me at birth, I would've told them to 100% NOT give me the name they did.

Jessicaf
01-14-2015, 03:36 PM
I've tried a few different names over the years. First one was Jackie, then used Jennifer for a while and now using Jessica. For some reason I feel compelled to keep the same initials as the male persona, not sure why? It's not like I have any monogrammed luggage that I use :)

Juliax35
01-16-2015, 05:48 AM
My name is Julie and took the JuliaX35 as username. First letter the same as my firstname and choose Julie because "it sounds good" to me. So simple as that.

Mia27
01-16-2015, 12:49 PM
I chose Mia because it is a simple yet cute name. I think it fits my female persona:) maybe I'd go with Mikayla if I had another choice haha

Bea
01-16-2015, 04:29 PM
When I was a teen, I went to work for a wonderful, strong lady who owned a restaurant. Her name was Bernice and everyone called her Bea. She was in her mid 40's and had just lost her husband to a heart attack. She had dealt with more trouble in her life than most of us could imagine. Her approach to life was to meet it head on, keep a smile on your face and maintain a positive attitude. Anytime I was down, hurt or feeling bad she would stand up, all 4'9" and 85 lbs of her, and begin wagging her finger at me telling me to get ahold of myself and deal with whatever problem I was having. All through the rest of my life anytime things weren't going my way, I would think of her and begin dealing with my issue at the time.
