Ginger Maxim
11-10-2013, 01:22 PM
I really have no idea how I came up with my name,
Ginger Maxim...
It really makes me feel sexy.
I have never heard it spoken to me yet in any form, ie: in bed or by another.
Tell me what you think of my name...

My friend came up with mine.

It all started on Halloween 2009, then I skipped 2010, did it again more as a comedy in 2011 with a goatee just for kicks.. but in 2012 I got more serious and this year I went all out. At any rate from 2009 on my boss and my coworkers quickly started teasing me with the Alvina name and it simply stuck. What's more is I actually like it despite the fact that if I was put to it to come up with a name it would be entirely different. Yet still.. Alvina for ME, fits.

Ginger makes me think of the spice, either ground or as a root, as well as Tina Louise from Gilligan's Island. Maxim makes me think of the magazine as well as Maximum.
Here are images of Tina Louise, both young and old:

Alvina, I initially thought you were naming yourself after the Halloween character with a similar name. That name is Elvira, but I thought it was Alvira, until I looked it up online. Here's about the sexiest image of her that I find: http://www.insidethemagic.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/elvira.jpg.
Then I remembered that her name had an R instead of an N.
So I looked up Alvina and find that there are two likely candidates as your source:
Alvina Houghton, a character in The Lost Girl by D. H. Lawrence and
Alvina Valenta, a range of bridal dresses by Victoria McMillan.
Here are images associated with Alvina Houghton:
https://www.google.com/search (https://www.google.com/search?q=alvina&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=NiyCUqOMOYvB4APG6oGoDg&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=1280&bih=579&dpr=0.8#q=alvina+houghton&rls=org.mozilla:en-US%3Aofficial&tbm=isch).
And here are images associated with Alvina Valenta:
https://www.google.com/search (https://www.google.com/search?q=alvina&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=NiyCUqOMOYvB4APG6oGoDg&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=1280&bih=579&dpr=0.8#q=Alvina+Valenta+&rls=org.mozilla:en-US%3Aofficial&tbm=isch&imgdii=_).
Do you know if either of those is the source of the name your friends gave you?
I also find that Alvina means Elf Friend.
I assume the pink dress you like is the one on my avatar. I hope to get one like that some day. So far I haven't gone to the right stores to find one like it. But I think I will before long. It's nice to see that we both have good taste.
Madilyn A.

I chose mine as my this was the name of a classmate in 5th grade who first allowed me to dress in her clothes while we did homework together...
stacy6ft5

My name stacy came from a girl i liked (or more like wish i was) in a soap xx
TessaOKC

Had a friend who's wife is Tessa. Fell in love with it immediately and was glad to use the name!!!
Nancy Salandro
11-12-2013, 04:19 PM
Nancy, because I have always liked the name....like Drew or Reagan....Salandro because it sounds either like some exotic spot in Italy or salacious....either works for me.
Patricia Dawn
11-12-2013, 11:40 PM
Patricia Dawn, I like the name Patricia as it is close to my real name and Dawn as I am a morning type person, I enjoy being up before everyone else and having the time to enjoy the quiet of the sunrise.
Sheelah
11-13-2013, 11:25 PM
I chose Sheelah because it is kindof like she laugh!

Michelle is the female version of my middle name, and it is pretty.
KaceyR
11-16-2013, 05:21 AM
Well, I'm a real newbie with a lot of the CD thing. But wanted to create a good sounding name for a fun/brighter personality. I'd thought of several...thought of using family names but was feeling they were a bit oldish. (that was like Lillian, Marie). Just didn't seem as exciting.
Never asked mom what I might have been if I was female..
Nearly matching RL name I used to be called Leslie.. but rather have something "I" like than using something that was teased back then.
But I really loved the Rhiannon name (Yeah.. from Fleetwood Mac / Stevie Nicks). Only thing is I didn't think I wanted that as a first name. I dug thru other names and then decided a bit rarish but fun sounding Kacey. The only thing is I'm not sure Rhiannon's a good last name. Middle maybe. So I may workup a "last" name somewhere down the line. Or I may leave it as is. We'll see.
My CD'ing adventure's just starting so we'll see where Kacey goes.

i really want a change from Jennifer but can't seem to find another name I like
Maybe Ginger from Gilligans Island I do love to wear dresses
Michelle504
11-17-2013, 09:55 PM
I went with Michelle for the boring reason that it was the female version of my original name. I'm usually much more creative than that tho... but it seems to work for me!
Nadine Spirit
11-18-2013, 04:49 PM
Originally it was Brooke. Why? No clue. I liked it I suppose. It also started off with the same letter as my male name. But then I changed it. I changed it to Bobbi. I went with that for a short time and realized I had to change it. Bobbi is a derivative of my male name, and is what my family called me as a child. But while growing up, I grew to hate that name. I thought maybe I could change the power of it into something positive, but alas it was not meant to be.
Nadine, my current name, again came from outer space for all I know. Spirit though, I remember that one. I had some cool last name picked out and tried entering into google for some username, and it was already taken. I needed to get done whatever I was doing at the time and look down at my cigarette box, American Spirits, and I thought hmm... that seems fitting and thus my last name was born. Now middle names... I have yet to even try that one.
ArleneRaquel
11-18-2013, 04:54 PM
Arlene comes from Arlene Francis & Arlene Dahl.
Raquel comes from the only & only Raquel Welch
My first female name was Maureen Fleming, way back in the 1970's.
Christine Andrews
11-19-2013, 07:21 AM
Christine is the feminised form of my forename. It took a long time for me to feel comfortable in doing so but now it feels natural. For a long time I settled on Kirsty but it never felt right - it never felt like "me". My Mother always wanted a Son and never had any girls names in mind, so I believe this choice is very appropriate as it is possible that she may have chosen it had I been born female.
As for my choice of surname, I love playing with random name generators when coming with names for characters and Andrews came up one day as a suggestion. It stuck with me and yet I could never satisfactorily use it in a story. In the end, I took it as a sign when I chose to change my username here and it has stuck. It seems quite arbitrary but many of the best things in my life are those I found by accident or hadn't planned. It feels right.

Debbie new
11-20-2013, 04:24 AM
Debbie harry was my first crush, also i fancied a girl at school called debby.
Stefani Leggs
11-20-2013, 08:20 AM
I cant remember how I picked my first but my last is my male first (my username is only partly my female name)
maybe I liked Stefani but note the spelling; I just wanted to be different!
I can remember the Arlenes; boy that gives my age doesn't it! :heehee:
When I was little I saw Whats my Line! I cant remember the host right off the top of my head but it may come to me!

Katrina came from the hurricane that wrecked havoc on the state of Louisiana she was so fierce, strong and destructive taking no prisoners. I had to have a name that strong.

Easy, i just always thought i should be Jackie!
Iris_Luna
11-20-2013, 02:08 PM
So, apart from having a friend called Iris (who is really a beautiful girl), its something i taught would give a pretty cool girl name. The luna parte, its because it means the same as moon... XD Iris_Moon :)

11-20-2013, 11:24 PM
It came to mind because I had been doing family research and this was a possible match to my great grandmother. It is basically an honor to her.
jackielynn
11-21-2013, 12:44 PM
A few people at work started calling me jacklynn as a nickname so I went with it. I spell it jackielynn because its more unusual.
Dana M
11-21-2013, 03:10 PM
I use Dana as my avater's name in Rockband 3. She has pink hair in a pixie cut.
Lysie
11-21-2013, 11:28 PM
I bounced back and forth between a couple names, like Mary, Lauren, Kathryn and Jacqueline before finally settling on Elyse. I had a close friend in high school named Elyse (always had a crush on her), that I would call Lysie from time to time, so thats where the username/my nickname comes from. If I had to chose a middle name, probably Marie. So I'm Elyse Marie :)

Androgylicious is mine. I feel androgynous and hope I look delicious so... there you have it!
ScarletSloane
11-22-2013, 03:32 PM
I decided upon the name Scarlet, due to admiration of the actress Scarlet Ohara. ^.^ (Granted, it could now also be used in admiration of Scarlett Johansson too, but not the original design) ^.^
sarahspinkdress
11-23-2013, 12:24 AM
I went with "Sarah Dawson" just taking the first and last names of two girls who I thought were both extraordinary people and beautiful women. I also just liked the sound of it :)
Madeline80
11-23-2013, 12:27 AM
Girlfriend saw me dressed up , and said, "I think I'll call you. Madeline." And that was it.
Krissyrotogirl
11-24-2013, 05:48 AM
I couldn't really decide on a name I started with Candice, and i would regularly shorten it to Candi. Now that I am older I prefer the name Krissy or Kris when I am in male form and meeting people I don't know or don't want to know my other life.
My GG friend told me any girl with a name that ends is "y" is a ****....well if the name fits LOL
Lo (because I am short)
Jo (short for Joe)
Numbers are for confusion
BumpinBumpin
11-24-2013, 05:27 PM
I still lack a female name, I have just never been able to think of one that suits. I guess it's not really an issue until I develop the courage the start going out dressed anyway, but still... I'd like one
bobra
11-25-2013, 10:22 AM
A lady friend of mine, upon hearing of my passion for crossdressing, coined my name: Bobra (bob in bra).
It stuck and I thank her for my name and her acceptance and support through the years.
Bobra
Adriana Moretti
11-26-2013, 10:42 PM
I always loved the name Adriana...( especially the character on The Sopranos) ...and mixing it with my last name either sounds very sexy...or like a race car drivers name...i cant tell LOL but I like it, and thats all that matters right!
steph9
11-27-2013, 11:56 PM
Mine is easy...Stephanie... can you guess my real name?
Snowbunnyyy
11-29-2013, 02:33 PM
kendra because when i first started to crossdress i idolized kendra the playboy bunny
Laura Collette
12-01-2013, 12:17 PM
When I was in Tri-Ess as a new CD I was Sarah Harper because I liked the name Sarah and Harper was about music. When I joined this forum a couple days ago I decided to be Laura because that would have been my name if I'd been born a girl. When my Mom told us that, my brother teased me mercilessly calling me Laura. Well he's never going to know this about me but I wouldn't mind being called Laura anymore. Collette was a name on my mother's side of the family and I like it too. I thought I had to have a first and last name here. But if not that's still OK.
KayleeTaylor
12-01-2013, 12:27 PM
I would be using the name I would have been given, had I been born a girl. However, that name is my daughter's name. So, I chose Kaylee (Firefly) because in many ways I like to think we share some of the same qualities. Taylor (Taylor Swift) sometimes, she is all I listen too. Plus, I think the 2 names sound cute together :)
Jacqui Summers
12-01-2013, 03:19 PM
My first name is a reference to the lumberjack song. The Pythons always make me smile and so the name reminds me to be light-hearted and have fun with this. Summers comes from Ann Summers, the UK retailer where I found my first pair of panties.
I went through a lot of options. Rose and Christina were two I liked, but ultimately settled on Jacqui.
Amanda 363
12-01-2013, 10:00 PM
I guess I'm not too inventive... A-MAN-DUH!!!! Amanda

Fannie? Phoebe? Stacey? Stanley? Festus? Heine? Heidie?
terrianncd
12-02-2013, 01:50 PM
If I had been a gg as was hoped for by my mother, then she would have named me Terri, she had a boy and so I became Terry. Seemed natural and fitting to use my given name. My SO's middle name is Ann, so I am TerriAnn
Janet Doe
12-02-2013, 08:13 PM
According to my mum, Janet was to be my name if I was born a girl. Although I have always like the name Jackie too, so you never know ..
hazelm
12-02-2013, 08:54 PM
I picked mine from a book character I liked and because my boy name starts with an H. I like the letter.
Roxelle Lamour
12-03-2013, 01:34 AM
Roxelle is the name I aways wanted if I was a girl. Lamour came when I looked for a sexy and original surname, so I think the sound of this two names sounds well, the tong in the the front teeth and the french accent.
Jubileee
12-03-2013, 10:03 AM
Jubilee is a female character in a children's animated T.V. show "X-men". My mom used to watch it all the time and Jubilee was one her favorites.

Anna I think
Dawn Gurl
12-03-2013, 06:19 PM
I chose Dawn, as it tends to mean a new start, a beginning and I've always felt it a pretty name.

hi everyone im new to the site but ive always dressed since i was a curious little 5 y.o.
i revealed my hobby to my mom about 2 years ago
and she was mad that i felt i had to hide anything from her
as great as that was she was no help with my name
she would say i never had another name i always knew you were going to be a baby boy
i always felt like others had it easier turning Jack into Jackie or Michael into Michelle
now i know thats not a rule or anything but it is one way to good
another would be some important female in your life but its not like i can take my mom's name
and Freddy turning into Frida wasnt sitting well with me either was Edna or Edie
some other names i liked i didnt want to use because i want to name my daughters them someday so i didnt know what to do
then one day my mom joked and say it should be Amanda and i say why and she laughed and said because your A Man DUH we laughe forever and it just stuck
so in the end my mom did name me after all
I've always liked my name. I know it seems gender specific to male, but to me I feel like it is my female name. I've met a girl named Kiley before, but I know that technically Kyle isn't gender-specific anyways so I'm happy. I just need to take care of my middle name; which is Anthony. My middlle name is still undecided, but I really like Rose.
MyFeminineSide
12-04-2013, 01:05 PM
I have taken on the feminine version of my name and that is Stephanie. It was a no brainer for me. People on another forum site just normally started calling me that, anyhow. Or Steph for short. As far as crossdressing is concerned, I am happy to fill a bra these days. I didn't want to have to stuff one when the natural way came about. It is fun to be female on my days off. And no one knows at work when wearing baggy shirts, lol!
JillianF
12-04-2013, 03:15 PM
it was funny for me - I always wanted to be Jillian. it was never a question. I like the sound of it, and it just so happens to be the first letter of my real name, so that worked out. I picked it when I was maybe 12. Secretly wished it was my real name! :)
MyFeminineSide
12-05-2013, 08:53 AM
Jillian, that is a nice name for you. If I would be passable and not so tall I may have decided to have the operation many years ago, as in those days I had a good job and made lots of money. There again, too many people knew me, but I could have continued my male side until moving somewhere where no one knew me.

DariaLee
12-09-2013, 11:42 AM
I picked my name recently since i just recently discovered the CD in me. my friends helped come up with my name. I asked my mom (inconspicuously, i'm still in the closet to my family) what my name would've been if iI were born a girl.. turns out it would have been Darian, an alternate spelling of the name Daria, which just so happens to be one of my top fave names. So, I took that and my moms middle name, Lee. Thus, Daria Lee is my femme name. :3 my friends liked the sound of it so it stuck!
valerieg
12-10-2013, 03:29 AM
When I first determined I'd like to have a femme name, I picked one of my favorites... Michelle. When I disclosed my CD nature to my wife, she objected to that name for various reasons (of which I was not aware) from her past so we found a new one together. Since I only bother with a femme name for fun and convention, I didn't much care what it was as long as I liked it. Looking through a "meanings of names" database we discovered that one of the meanings of my male name is "strong". So we looked for female names that meant the same thing. That's the story of how I became known as Valerie.

12-11-2013, 05:09 AM
I originally went by Jennifer as I really like that name, but a few years ago I went through one of my 'try and fix myself' phases where I purged everything and tried to convince myself to 'man up!' So I got rid of everything, killing any email accounts and other memberships etc...
When I realised that 'fixing' was not working and I was back again I decided I needed a fresh start so decided to choose a new name. I chose Karen because I used to work with a really nice lady called Karen who had a persona and dress sense that I really liked.

12-11-2013, 08:25 AM
Years ago when working in Europe with some French colleagues, one in particular had trouble with pronouncing Keith, it was coming out 'Kate'... it just stuck in my mind and I've always like the idea of being a 'Kat' (feline side) or Catherine, and there have been some great actresses (Deneuve, Blanchett, Winslett, Beckinsale,..) - perhaps I subliminally want to emulate one of them? Maybe in some ways...

12-11-2013, 08:44 AM
I've always liked the name, color and gemstone Amber, and for a long time, I used the name Amber. About seven or eight years back, I purged and left Amber behind. As I slowly got back into it all, Emily developed, and got her name from a friend-of-a-friend whose nickname was Emewee, which I thought was adorable. It also helps that I don't really know anyone named Amber or Emily as anything better than an acquaintance. Now I've come to see that I never really left Amber behind, so that's my name: Emily Amber. As an unintended bonus, I can put them together to get the nickname Lamb. :)

Stephanie Julianna
12-14-2013, 04:32 PM
I used Debbie for years. Then Stephanie was the name given to me by a close GG friend who said that I looked like her GG friend Stephanie. Julianna is the feminized version of my father's name who I love and miss very much.
VickieFairfax
12-15-2013, 11:21 PM
Vickie (Victoria) was born from the many beautiful ladies that appeared on the screen during the 70s and 80s.
Victoria is the goddess of Victory, and I always associated Vickie with a fun loving girl.

Michelle, the feminine form if Michael which, had I been born a female, my mother would have named me.
I sometimes consider going by Michel (the French form of Michael) because it sounds like Michelle.
Jacin, the feminine version of my male name. What can I say, I was feeling imaginitive....

Christa Race
12-20-2013, 03:02 AM
Mine is pretty simple I just made my guy name sound gurly. lol! Chris to Crissy, but now I want to change it as I have a last name to go with it not sure if anyone has thought of a full first and last name for themselves but I think is something we should all think about as it is for some of us another personality. Sorry went off topic for a sec here is my new name Christa Race. The reason is that my friends and I have seen more mature gurl now than before.

12-22-2013, 12:24 AM
I use my middle name shortened to Chris, but I answer even more readily to Chrissie.
Sara Ann
12-22-2013, 12:40 AM
I chose Sara/Sarah long, long before a certain former Governor of our state ascended and then fell from power. At the time, it was a good code word for my other persona because neither myself or my SO had friends or acquaintances who were named Sarah. I thought that Ann would be a good companion middle name and it is shortened from a favorite former co-worker of mine (Anne).
Michelle_Phoenix
12-23-2013, 02:20 PM
I've always liked the sound of Michelle. Maybe because it's the female version of my male name, Michael. I haven't really established a last name yet, though I choose Phoenix on here because it's my favorite mythological creature
Raven Wynter Rayne
12-23-2013, 07:45 PM
like so many I have used a few names, it started after telling My wife about My coss dressing, the first name 'Linda Hamel' I just came up with off te top of My head, but it had no real conection with who I am, long story short I love ravens and crows (My wife an I have a crow) winter is My fav season and I love rain. so I worked out the spelling (winter became Wynter and rain became Rayne) I am a small part native american and thought that sounded native american!

Susan_Xdress
12-24-2013, 09:36 AM
I cannot consciously remember ‘choosing’ the name Susan. I never sat down one day with a list of fem names and tried to decide. Since she first made her presence known, this other person who shares my brain and body has always been simply, Susan.
Ashleynn

Ashleynn comes from a kinda odd series of events. About 5 years ago I met a girl, and when I say met she was a waitress at a restaurant I was at, and her name was Ashlin. I pretty much immediately fell in love with the name, and to this day she is still the only person I have ever known with that name. Anyway, a few months after this, back in my Word Of Warcraft days, I acquired an account that of all the names for a character on it to have one was Ashleynn. So the uniqueness of the name to begin with, mixed with the further uniqueness of the spelling, and the fact the name just sounds awesome, I decided to go with it for my other half.

Came up with my name to sign into this forum. Never thought about it much
Holly Diamond
12-26-2013, 02:47 AM
I also used a first name similar to my birth name, hence Holly. The last name Diamond comes from a love of the gemstone of the same name. It was quick and it rolled off the tongue well. I liked the sound of it, because it sounded somewhat exotic and classy, although that may not exactly match up with my persona all the time. (:

Had to find a name to join this forum and did a quick internet search of girls names starting with letter “C”. Why “C”?…..don’t know…so I scrolled through the names and stopped on the first name that felt okay (Carissa). To be honest the whole name thing still feels awkward. I relate it to naming a puppy before choosing the dog. I guess it feels like a step to self-acceptance, but at the same time challenging to get my head around. I mean I’m a guy who every once in a while dresses in women’s clothes. Do I really need to name me (a guy) who is wearing a dress? I realize no one forced me to select a name, but some acronym or even using my given name didn’t feel comfortable either. If/when I accept myself than a name should be no big deal.

Christina (formaly ChristinaMarie all as one word) because it makes me happy. I dont know why but the name ChristinaMarie just makes me feel good as it rolls off my tongue. I thought a long while about it when trying to come up with a log in for a site that I once subscribed to and that name just came to me and now, it makes me feel feminine and happy and for any girl, life is about what makes you happy, from the choice in clothes, to the chloice in shoes to the name itself, its the emotion of joy that makes the decisions.
Cheylynn

I really like it. I'm new to this site so I am starting here! You are so pretty Kristina. I tried to come up with something that started with the letters ch and finally came up with Cheylynn. Mostly trying to match mine like yours.

I used a more feminine name in the past, until I met some other CDs in guy mode and it was really weird calling them by their femme names when not dressed. Anyway, I changed to a more gender neutral name so it works no matter what I'm wearing.

DivineMissAmber
01-03-2014, 04:56 PM
If I was born a girl, my parents would have named me Amber. As to the use of The Divine Miss Amber... First, it sounds like an awesome drag queen name and I wanted to call dibs on it if I ever get into show business. Second, the word divine has multiple meanings. One of them is to discover by guesswork or intuition, which is exactly what I'm doing as I go through life.
Jennifer Now
01-03-2014, 07:21 PM
For me, I really like name the Jennifer. Then I thought what middle name would go good with that. Then Anne came to nimd. Then finally the name Taylor for a last name I liked because there's a woman I work with who I think is very pretty, and her last name is Taylor. So Jennifer Anne Taylor for me.
Lilly Street
01-03-2014, 08:58 PM
I've always liked fairly common names that have become, maybe not so common.. Lilly just reminds me of old-school for some reason, I've always liked it (same with Betty, and June) also, 'Lilly' is a light-hearted poke at my too pale complexion :)

Valerie Nova
01-04-2014, 12:04 AM
I came up with Valerie, because Valerie was the name of my friend's sister, who was (and probably still is) very fat. Nevertheless, she had a good attitude about her size, despite the disparaging comments she received. She was not a particularly attractive girl, but she made the best out of a not-so-great situation, and seemed to have more fun than most people I know. If she knew I was describing her this way, I'd probably see a very different side of her, but that's beside the point. Also, "Valerie" is a fairly ordinary, unremarkable women's name, and is not the sort of name you'd associate with a stripper. For some reason, that was very important to me. To come up with a name that a stripper wouldn't use.
Mary M

My sister started calling me Ady, as a nickname. At the time, I complained saying, "Ady is a girls name". She replied with, "I know," and gave me this mysterious smile. I think back on that moment and wonder just what she saw in me then that I wouldn't see for years to come. Anyway, I adopted Adyson because of that moment.

When picking out my female name, Rachel stuck out and I like it but its only my online name (why, I don't know). I use my given name, Ryan; when I'm out because I found out that it is for both male and female and not just a male or just a female name

My name is actually the very same with my real nickname, Bonny. Just replace -y with -ie. I'm from Thailand and we have real name and nickname for using in different occasion (real name for official, nickname for friends/family.) I actually used Asuna as my female email account as I'm into Japanese Anime a lot and Asuna is my favorite heroine name. But then I just realized that why don't I just use my real nickname as it's for female as well.

Jennifer came from a major crush I had on a Jennifer, Then I decided that I needed a last name for some mail order stuff in the 80's so I closed my eyes, opened up a telephone book and randomly laid my finger on Monk, seemed appropriate as I had a fairly monk like existence at that time.

Mine would have to be Kylie, partially because it is the closest to the feminine version of my given name and because the first girl I had a crush on elementary school had that name and still does as far as I am aware.
NickiStoner
01-16-2014, 10:26 AM
I picked my name because of my best friend who is a girl, and actually got me into CD. Her name is Nikki and mine is Nick, and one day we were on Omegle, I was fully dressed up, and a guy asked us what are names were so we came up with Nikki and Nicki. Her name is Nikki Stixx and my is Nicki Stoner. lol (get it, sticks and stones) after that it just fit. All I have to do is add an 'I' to my name, and i'm a completely different person.

SierraTsuki
01-16-2014, 05:02 PM
There is no real significant reason for my name. I chose Sierra because it isn't overly common but also not unusual. It's also somewhat of a homage to the Sierra Nevada, but that wasn't my main reason for picking it.

I've had a few names along the years... Vittoria, Kate, Michelle, and a few others I'm not remembering at the moment. I chose Michelle to be my female name as it corolates best with my make name Michael. For some reason I find it easier to relate to as if it were given to me at birth. The other names were more about me finding myself through other women in my life. For example, Kate was the girl off the show Lost. I wanted to be like her and felt I resembled her do I felt it fitting. Vittoria, sounded sexy and in my younger years that's what dressing was about... Thigh highs 5-6 inch heels and over the top outfits. Michelle was me. The women who is classy real and wants to be treated equally like a women. This is who I am now. I think it's funny being a man to say this, but I want to clean, cook, do laundry, and take care of my family while dressed as me. It's funny to say because of what society makes men and women out to be and being a man it's like I'm defining my own feminin role, but it truly makes me feel much more like a lady. Anyway off topic here now lol... Names Michelle and I'm a lady at heart. Love to hear more stories of how you got your name.

Umm, Jennifer, for now. I kind of like it, and to me the middle name of Marie fits with it.

When I got my very first PC, I had NO clue about it. I
broke it many times and had to reinstall everything.
It kept asking for a 'name' for the computer each time.
There was an old B-52's cassette tape on top of a pile
of them, and I'd seen them once down in Miami. It was
just one of those memorable nights that everything went
so perfectly....standing just 4 ft away from Kate Pierson.
So was so Amazingly Beautiful!
So I got in the habit of naming my computers 'Kate'...and
we've shared the same name for a long time now.
I've almost changed it a few times, but like any other name,
sometimes I like it and sometimes I don't. But I stay Kate.
My middle and last names, though...that's all open for now.
I'll settle on those one day.
:)

DorothyElizabeth
01-24-2014, 05:29 PM
Dorothy Elizabeth - (it's also my user name here)
I chose this name for several reasons. Here are just a few:
1) The words sound nice together, and roll easily off the tongue. (And yes, I am a strong personality. I set forth to boldly split the infinitive!)
2) They match my given initials, making it possible to use any monogramed items I already own.
3) My grandfather had a half-sister, who was born in 1872, and spent her entire life as a "closet" lesbian. Her name was Elizabeth. She died two years before I was born, and I have always wished I could have known her.
4) MY dear friend Teresa (who is a confirmed lesbian, in a committed relationship) and I were sitting in a bar one evening, and I "outed" myself to her.
She asked, "What is your femme name?"
"I haven't one, I replied. "I never thought about that."
"Oh, she said, "You need one. You're such a dreamer. But Alice doesn't fit you; I think I'll call you Dorothy."

When I was 8 or 9 I told my parents and friends I wanted them to call me Kelly. It seemed to be more me than my own name and as a bonus it was similar enough to my own name not to arouse any suspicions (I think). It didn't work. But mostly I just liked it. Then, years later, my wife began playfully calling me that whenever she, with a nod and a wink, wanted to refer to my femme side and she still does 30 yrs later. I came here last year and voila, the rest is history.

Laura Ann is just a name pulled from thin air, one I've always liked. The last name is invented, too - Dearman. "Dear Man", get it? Also, my initials are LAD. Sssshhhhh! :)

It's the name I was going to be called if i had been born a girl. As for a second name I just cant think of one I like or a reason to have one. so at the moment it just 'Rachel'
Amy Hepker
01-29-2014, 08:35 AM
I chose Amy because of the song, by Pure Prairie League, the thing is that I did not realize until a few years ago their song is "Amie" But that is OK, I still like the song and my Name the way it is.

i choose Allison cause it was the name of a friend i used to have when i was 5 o 6 years old and we used to play dress up games where she would put me on dresses and make up while our moms were downstairs drinking coffee and chatting
Milou
01-31-2014, 05:21 AM
Not sure, yet. My parents would have named me Milou, if I were born a girl. It's a French name and a variation of Marie-Louise. I kinda liked that.

I didn't actually pick my name. It was bestowed upon me, so-to-speak.
Early on when I first was able to really dress completely femme, the only place I would go out in public was to a neighborhood gay bar. It was kind of a gay "Cheers," and and had a pretty good business of regulars. Anyway, I got to be friends with many of the patrons there. At that time, it really hadn't even occurred to me that I needed to pick a femme name. After a week or two of going a couple of nights a week, one of the first people I met in that bar remarked that all my outfits looked like I came straight from the office (I admit, I love a pencil skirt, and I do tend towards the business suit). And with that, the movie "Working Girl" came up. The main character (played by Melanie Griffith) in that film is named "Tess." So, it stuck. I love it!

Mine goes back to when I was about 16 or there about. I had a job after school in a restaurant as a Dishwasher. A women that worked there as a busser (busgirl) and I were both called Vic by the employees. The thing is, we worked different shifts. So neither of us knew the other nor had any cross over time. So for the longest time, at night I was called Vic, and during the day, she was called Vic. So, one day I was asked to work on a weekend and I opted to do so (needed the money). So I worked a Weekend Day shift. So as the day went all, things were as usual until one point someone came into the kitchen and called out to "Vic" from the back office. I of course went back there to see what they wanted me for. She also showed up. Only then did we meet each other and find out that we both went by Vic. Her name was Vicki. The Manager didn't need me, they wanted to talk to her.
The next Monday, when I came into work there she was. They asked her if she would work the night shift instead (better tips for her too). So, she began to work the same shift. We became very good friends (she didn't want to date me. I was too young) and both of us chose to resume using Vic instead of our names. We found it more fun that way (little did she know that "Vic" would have such a new meaning for me (wink)).
So, after I left that job, I had decided that if I ever were to be a women, Vicki would be my name. The whole name I chose is actually Vicki Ann Baker. I always like that "Ann" part. Just seemed to fit nicely. The Baker is because I wanted something Generic.
As for the Vickithegamer I use here as my User Name, I wanted others to know that I am a gamer as well. Board Games, D&D style RPG, MMORPG's, etc.
What is odd is, lately, I have begun to grow a bit attached to a new name and I am not sure why. Perhaps after being Vicki for so many years, I am looking for change. Oh well, who knows why .... (other than the Shadow that is).
Love you all,
Vicki
Erica Anne

Mine was given to me at birth (or sometime there after).
When I was younger, I knew I was different, and my first name and middle initial spell it out clearly. My neighbor used to call me Erica because I had shoulder length hair. I also think he saw me though my bedroom window in something borrowed. Anne, that is my sisters middle name.

I liked the catchy song "Veronica" by Elvis Costello, and I also liked the Veronica/Betty debate. The Bea is fun way of writing of the first initial of my male name.

I always loved the name Melissa (or Missy for short). It just never felt right for some reason. I had a friend in college named Carla. Somewhere along the line I adopted it and I have been Carla ever since. It is me...

I had a roomate with the same name who was very close to the same size as I, being 6'1," had large breasts and curvy hips. I adored her and her clothes, but we were not to be. Nevertheless, I borrowed her clothes from time to time, fantasizing that I was her and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I'm sure she knew I was borrowing her clothes, but never said a word. She was sooo feminine and sexy, despite her large frame. I still think about her when I'm dressed and wish I had come out to her. We could have had such a great time dressed together and she was totally cool.

I am a gg but my husband is a cd and she choose her femme first name based on a high school crush she had on a girl back then. When we got married it only seemed fitting that since I was fully accepting that she use my maiden name as her last name.

Contrary to my previous posts, mine is primarily Charlotte Lydia, pretend surname. Alternatively to include my real surname and sound right (Charlotte would be wrong with it) Tessa Katharine Alice. I do have two middle names one ordinary, the other unusual. They're replaced with female names here.
I was born in Queen Charlotte's hospital. Tessa is a book/film character. I prefer that spelling of Katharine, just like Alice and Lydia. I use all these names except Alice and Lydia in various forms on other forums etc.

Since I first thought about what female name I should go by; I had the hardest time picking one that I really liked (I would keep going back to Wendy). But I ended up sticking with Billie Josephine, which a derivative of my current guy name, when I joined this forum. Now I'm looking at my name again after learning about the female names Lola (my dad's pick) and Amber Marisa (my moms pick) I could have been given if I was born as a girl. Picking a name is not that easy and I know I have to pick one that I like and speaks to me, but which name sounds good.

I used to spend a lot of time with this and would try to come up with names that were extentions of my boy name but never came up with anything that I liked. Rich---->Regina maybe?......but don't like that.
Finally I just gave up and asked what my wife thought and she immediately named me Barbie. Aparently that's how she sees me as I'm ultra femme and have a firm belief that you can never have enough pink silk/satin with white lace lol.

I've always thought Irish names are really pretty sounding, and Brea has just always stuck out for me. The Lynn part didn't happen until after I met my wife (her middle name), and it just seemed to flow together very nicely.

I had a friend when I was a kid maybe i was 7 or 8 and we used to play together a lot. No dress up or make up, but just dolls, or hide and seek, house house. She did make me wear a fur coat once. We were kind of best friends and I remember many afternoons in her big house. She was Sonia. I have in the past tried Tanya, Natasha and Sylvie, didn't stick with it for more than a day or two.

Paulina is an extension of my male name, my ex wife would call me it all the time. The prissy pumps part was given to me by a Domme on another site.
Eryka
02-12-2014, 09:33 PM
Eryka is the femme version of my male name. I chose to spell it that way because I liked it. When pressed for a last name, like registering on a website of some sort, I feminize my middle name to Allanna, or just take the last name Cross. I'm not terribly creative in that department, but it suits me.

Christy Jane. Christy is close to my real first name, and I just think the Jane added on sounds kind of.....hummm, what is the word I'm searching for, southern-ish, diva-ish, sexy, not sure exactly. I just like it!!!

My name is Jessica Stace my real first and second name is Jeffrey Scott. I wanted to keep with the J S theme so I picked Jessica because I always thought it was kinda sexy and I thought Stace just fit. The funny thing I didn't realize were the fact the both names have the same amount of letters in them. To me that tells me it was meant to be kinda freaky wouldn't you think.

trisha kobichenko

trisha was an obvious choice, I like it and it's the fem version of the name on my driver's license. kobichenko was sort of a happy accident, assigned by Second Life when I signed up...but I really liked it so I have kept it as my female identity
Rosie87

My name is Rosie. This is actually the name jokingly given to me by my girlfriend because of my preference for Rosé wine (little knowing that I'd use it for my secret female persona!).
Most of my life I've been mildly obsessed with Norse Mythology and Culture in ancient Scandinavia. I chose my name from the rune Isa, if any of you would like a description here is a link:

Aeslyn

The origins of my name are kinda funny I guess. I made it up, or so I had thought. In the late 90s, when I was around 21 or 22, I made it up for a story. My male persona online gaming/chat name back in the day was Ædhan (ancient celtic form of Aidan) which in some cases I just spelled as Aedhan. In writing a back story I wanted to give my character a twin sister and playing with the sound I came up with Æslyn.
After that I started using it for my female persona online (I had previously gone by Ashley). I hadn't even been able to find any references to it, other than my own uses of it online, until recently. Now it seems every time I try to use it for something online it is taken. Also, searches for it online return a lot of results now but they didn't even a couple of years ago. Maybe the name already existed and I just fluked, otherwise, it is kinda cool if something I created caught on it just sucks when I end up not being able to use the name online.
