I've been addressed as Karin on this forum, and it's also how people address me in person when I wear the costume. So, safe to say my female name is Karin! <3

I'm surprised I have never responded to this thread!

My femme name was easy - it's a simple one letter change from my drab name.

Drab me often gets emails where the sender has made a typo and addressed me as Andrea :-). In one instance I now always sign responses the same way, although the person I email with doesn't know I'm a CD.

It was a matter of what I felt. Choosing Dreia just made sense. It feels like it suits me just like Drew does when I'm drab. The only real difference is which last name I use (the joys of having a last name for a middle name). So, en femme, Dreia Robertson ♥

natalie1990
09-09-2011, 01:31 PM
I picked the name natalie because its a varient of my name(nathaniel) and also my mom was expecting a girl a year before i was born, and she miscarried. the girl would have been named natalie. because of this, my mom wanted to dress me up every now and then when I was younger

LisaAlexander
09-09-2011, 03:26 PM
My story is somewhat similar to Natalie's, except I was THE girl my mom was expecting. The Dr told he she was having a girl, even during her babyshower everything was pink and everyone gave her baby girl clothes. FFW to when I was born and HEEY IT'S A... BOY??? So before that day, my mom was going to name me Lisa :D I just added the "Alexander" part since it has been part of my "stage name" and after having a girl named Alexander as one of my students it didn't feel weird to include it. Anyway, it's just the name I use around here.

Alie66
09-09-2011, 04:26 PM
I chose the name Alie after a lovely young lady I used to fancy.

Elizibeth Thomason

OM foxtrot G lolz im in the army so cross dressing has become difficult but i wanted to say that i love your dress and i really want one of my own

Elizibeth Thomason
09-12-2011, 11:19 PM
i picied my female name (Elizibeth Ann Thomason) because i always liked the name elizibeth. the middle name ann comes from my sisters middle name shes very dear to me even though she dosent exactly support my choices :'(

VanessaJCD
09-14-2011, 11:29 AM
I picked Vanessa Jane because it was the first name that popped into my head that I really liked

Kim Young
09-15-2011, 01:01 AM
The first name I thought of was Jessica because most of my wardrobe was bought online from Sears. I came up with Kim because that's my last name so if I respond to that name in male mode, I would not be giving myself away.

cassandra54
09-15-2011, 08:49 PM
i used to go by vallerie, but cassandra really appealed to me, with so many nicknames, like cassie, cass, sandra and when i put it together with elyse for a middle name, i thought it was pretty, cassandra elyse. i couldn't really think of a middle name that went with vallerie

Well, my real name is Lex (dutch) and Lexa was a bit weird imo. So Alexa it is

missmillie
09-19-2011, 04:37 PM
Well real name was and is still Milton for all legal purposes, but from the first time my mother saw me dressed in my sis's clothes she has called me Milly sothere be it.
PS: I also liked to play with Barbie dolls still have my first one.
Love Milly

Jenny B
09-20-2011, 03:58 AM
for me.. i guess jenny just kind of just always in my head. its kind of soft and gentle and pretty sounding.

Joanecd09

My wife chose mine for me. She just juggled with John to Joanne

Dami
09-21-2011, 02:47 PM
I thought about asking my mother what name she would have used for me if I had been born a girl, but figured I better not ask, she would ask a lot of questions and it would probably be uncomfortable for both of us.
I just used a shortened version of my male name. My wife suggested her middle name. then she questioned why I needed a name at all, I explained to her it would be really weird if we went out and she addressed me by my male name when I was dressed as a female. I guess if the name doesn't work we can always change it later.

Dami Michelle

BrittM
09-21-2011, 09:34 PM
After a lot of thinking, Bulma isn't the name that fits this new girl. I don't know if I can change my user name, but this gal prefers to go by Britt, as it's as close to my boy name as you can get, and I always think of Britts as cute and innocent looking with a hidden naughty side ;)

Marissa333
09-21-2011, 11:16 PM
I had the biggest crush on Marissa Tomei when I was a kid, and my male name is Mario. Drop the o add ssa and Marissa comes almost natural.

ArleneRaquel
09-22-2011, 04:53 AM
I picked Arlene because of Arlene Francis, from the " Whats My Line " TV show. I found here very lovely and elegant, though I have to say Arlene Dahl played a role also.

Miss Informed
09-22-2011, 11:10 AM
At first I tried to rearrange the letters of my name to come up with something, but didn't really care for any of the results that I could come up with. So I decided to go another route. I love puns to a fault. So, my chosen name is Jean Andros. Which is a play-on-words in two fashions. Jean-andros= Androgynous. Which reflects my personality perfectly. Also, the name Jean is a play-on-words of my male name. Just for the fun of it, I am not going to give that one away. See if you can guess. (Hint: It's not Gene, Eugene, or anything like that.)

Miss Marshall
09-22-2011, 12:34 PM
Hi all.

My femme name - Lesley Anne - came from what I would have been called if I had been born a baby girl, I added the Marie bit because if I had had a daughter I would have called her Anne-Marie and it allows me to keep the Anne bit. The Marshall bit comes from my paternal gran's mum (though I didn't know her). She was called Sarah Jane Marshall and when doing a bit of family history I came accross her and felt so close to her so it seamed about right to take her family name.

Keep Smiling

Anne-Marie

CheyenneNicky
09-27-2011, 01:55 PM
I went with my names in RL Cheyenne Nicky * laughs* , dont know of a last name though

Trina90
09-29-2011, 05:03 AM
My female name is Trina. I just changed my male name, Travis to Trina.

lisakay
09-29-2011, 07:37 AM
Not a lot of thought really. Lisa was just the first thing that came to mind. But that was not enough for an email address. So for that i added my middle name Keith which sounds like a last name. But too long to type as a user name. Abbreviation is lisak but someone already had that. So lisakay-hey i like that, but lisa is what i go by. and that seems such a fenale thought process....

kassy
09-29-2011, 10:31 AM
Mine is Kassy, I always thought the name was sweet and sassy at the same time. I love it. My wife loves calling me Kassy even when I am not dressed. She knows it makes me smile.

susangirl
09-29-2011, 11:45 AM
I chose Susan because I think it's very pretty. I know quite a few women named Susan and they are all pretty, sexy, and a few very smoking hot. Susan, to me, makes me all warm inside. I didn't really pick Susan, it found me.

ashleygurl
09-29-2011, 09:21 PM
I chose the name Ashley for my fem side. It has no specific reason behind it, I just like it. My wife knows and is supportive of my CDing, but she does not know about my name. I know she does not like the name Ashley. Have any of you ever changed your fem name? I feel like I would be untrue to myself if I did change it, however I feel like I should let her name me out of respect for her support. What do you girls think?

xoxo

Ashley (for now)

PaulaAnn
10-02-2011, 07:28 PM
Hi; I picked Paula as my male name is Paul . Who can forget Paul and Paula from the '60's? Oh god ,I've just dated myself ....

VioletJourney
10-04-2011, 11:57 PM
I don't really like Violet. I'm gonna take Molly for a test drive and see if I like it.

CallieH
10-05-2011, 03:20 PM
My name's Calvin, and I was looking for something along similar lines.. Callie is what I chose.

For those of you who read the Hardy Boys growing up, I was always fascinated by Callie Shaw.. lol

*Vanessa*
10-08-2011, 05:47 PM
Hi everyone - just realized I could play in this thread too.

'Vanessa' my fem name was given to me by my Ex over 27 years ago. I've become very attached to it, it's me really. My boy name is one of those gender neutral names but I like Vanessa better.

VioletJourney
10-08-2011, 05:55 PM
Everyone keeps calling me Violet

Vanessa Winters
10-08-2011, 07:13 PM
I came up with Vanessa because I think it is a beautiful name, and Winters is the last name that I came up with when I made an acronym of my first and last legal names.

desa ray
10-10-2011, 10:02 PM
I wanted to name my first daughter Desiree but my wife at the time said a very enthusiastic "NO" but I still liked the name. Then there was a character in a king book called Odessa and I loved that name. so after years of going back and forth between the two they finally just merged into Desa Ray.
Desa.

I have had the nickname Gerry since i was young so i decided to fem it up to Jerri

marlaNYC
10-13-2011, 06:15 AM
i still don't quite know where marla came from. for years, i went with the name mitch (an abbreviation of 'Mish/Michelle'). a Mistress friend had been bugging me to change it for a couple of years, saying that it really wasn't a very feminine name. i had always loved the name 'Paige Lee' and for some reason, when i wrote to Her to mention this, i also included the name 'marla'. She rejected Paige and loved marla. and that's where i am now!

While looking in the mirror the name Jennifer came to mind, plus everyone in my family starts with the letter J.

Jennifer H
10-14-2011, 01:03 PM
I think Jennifer is the most beautiful name in the world. I have called myself Jenny/Jennifer for nearly 60 years and if I had been born a girl Jennifer would have been my name anyway. xxx

Contessa
10-18-2011, 08:27 AM
My real is no where close to my femme name. my Femme name is from a tv show from the 60's. Some of you will remember The Protectors, and Contessa Caroline De Contini. When my wife why you just call her by your favorite name I was speechless for a moment. So it is my favorite. I must tell other people who know me so I can be called by it more.

Cyndy
10-18-2011, 08:02 PM
I'm so new hear that everything I put in was already taken. So Cindy became Cyndy. There were lots of others that I tried first.

Marlana

wish4naught
10-21-2011, 12:09 AM
heh, mine was actually chosen for me; first time I dressed was as a gag after losing a bet and my friend decided to call me Kristen. She picked the name after hearing my mom had chosen two for me before I was born, I would've been Kristen had I been a girl anyways and I suppose I never thought about changing it

Anna Talyn
10-24-2011, 04:38 AM
My AKA is Anna. I love the long vowel pronunciation of this ( on na ) and it is also in a unique and clever way linked to my birth name. I knew a girl growing up who's family had moved here from Mexico when she was born and her spirit and sincerity was so beautiful (and so caliente):battingeyelashes: to me it made quite an impression. I never did tell her how big of a crush I had on her. She was so amazing to me I assumed I was not even close her league so friend zone it was for me.

CallieH
10-24-2011, 08:28 AM
I did read the Hardy Boy's and you're right. Callie, Is a great name.

Thank you Marlana, I'm doubly glad it's not a very common name either!

Anna Talyn
10-24-2011, 02:14 PM
I don't really like Violet. I'm gonna take Molly for a test drive and see if I like it.

Molly is a great name!
It seems more natural to you for some reason when I look at your profile picture.
How's the test drive going?

Anna Lorree
10-25-2011, 06:22 PM
Lol, I picked my femme name for the same reason; my parents had picked that name in case I was born a girl. Anna Lorree Gillespie. Lorree is a family name on my dad's side of the family.

I figured I have to live with what my parents picked as a male name, just as I would have if I had been born female, so why not use the name they had picked?

Anna

larissa-laurie
10-25-2011, 11:50 PM
At one time I thought I made up the name Larissa so between that and having a girlfriend named Laurie I really liked I just linked the two together to have a unique set of feminine names. They help to feel girly when dressed girly.

RiverdanceGirl
10-27-2011, 07:22 PM
Okay, so my mum who either has alzheimers or dementia has recently taken to calling me Carla. This is when I'm in guy mode. But actually I can relate to Carla from Coronation Street, so I'm switching from Nicki to Carla. It seems to fit.

JasmineKCD36
10-27-2011, 09:32 PM
I wanted a name that started with the same letter of my male name and I've always thought Jasmine was a pretty name so I went with it. I like it and it makes me feel good when I hear it.

MackenzieMarigold
10-27-2011, 09:35 PM
I chose Mackenzie because I thought it was a really pretty name. And I didn't want a common name. Nothing wrong with those, just not for me .

Jennifer529
10-27-2011, 09:40 PM
I have always been Jennifer, but,I have entertained the name Samantha as well.

10-29-2011, 04:30 AM
Urmila is my fem name which was given to me by my wife and I loved it when she suggested it

cdjuliemadsen
11-01-2011, 09:13 PM
I picked Julie because every woman I have ever met named Julie was beautiful and very impressive. And Madsen for Virginia Madsen. I love her,

cdjuliemadsen
11-01-2011, 09:15 PM
How about Violeta. Pronounced (Vee - of - let- ah) It's the spanish version of Violet and much prettier sounding I think.

Pamela Kay
11-02-2011, 08:48 PM
Pamela Kay is what my mother (who wanted a girl) was going to name me if I was a girl, she called me PJ for most of my younger years which was for Pam and my male name. So I guess I have really always been Pam.

Sherrii
11-03-2011, 08:15 PM
Mine came about because my girlfriend liked it, picked it. The spelling because when I went to register here it wasn't taken. Sherrii. I like it though.

Kylie.K
11-03-2011, 09:59 PM
Kylie is a play on my middle name. I also really like Ashley, and I was leaning towards it, but I felt it wasn't me.

Emma L.
11-03-2011, 10:05 PM
i don't know really. i've always loved the name. it's always felt like a part of me. plus, it's the name of one of my favourite people, emma anderson from lush!!!

stacycoral
11-05-2011, 12:36 AM
i just like the name Stacy, it does have the first letter from my other name, it sounds sexy, and its goes with black hair,

Sandy Michaels
11-05-2011, 10:03 AM
A friend named me. It was so much better then anything i have tried before. When she named me. My first thought was "omg why didn't i come up with it. it makes perfect sence and feels right!!" best part is... it's a good nickname for my real name!! so i can use it all the time!!!

Phoebe
11-05-2011, 12:52 PM
Not sure but when my mother got her last cat it was a female calico and she named the cat Phoebe. I asked her why Phoebe? She said if I been born a girl she would have named me Phoebe. Then my sisters came later and they were named Judy and Nancy? I chose Janet, there was a neighbor girl who was pretty and named Janet, took that in memory of her.

scarlett112
11-06-2011, 01:28 AM
Mines Scarlett Lynn. A friend came up with it and i fell in love with it ever since then.

Sandy Michaels
11-07-2011, 05:04 PM
my partner who is also my best friend gave it to me. out of nowhere she called me sandy. i reacted by saying
" who's sandy?"
she went "you are silly"
"why sandy?"
"i don't know it makes sense and its sorta sounds like your last name."
since then i've been going as sandy michaels. my birth name reversed.

Mine is from a dead cat.................. long story

mspaulasue
11-08-2011, 04:37 AM
I named myself after an ex-fiance who went ballistic when I revealed myself to her. During one heated exchange, I asked her if she had rather I was a rapist or child abuser. She said "yes". My being a crossdresser was absolutely the worst thing I could have been for her. Obviously, we didn't last much longer, but I got my engagement ring back and loved wearing it when I was Paula!

April_Ligeia
11-09-2011, 12:53 AM
Mine is the month in which I was born and my favorite Poe story.

Renee W
11-09-2011, 08:01 AM
I cheated when I chose mine. I wanted to stick with somehting beginning with "R" to match my given name and then did a web search for baby names and looked through all of the Rs. Came across Renee, with a meaning of "reborn" and figured how fitting since I kind of feel reborn when I am CDing.

TVKellyNY
11-13-2011, 06:12 PM
My first crush was on a very pretty young girl named Kelly. I always thought it was a pretty name.

elizabethamy
11-15-2011, 06:46 AM
My mother has told the story a hundred times of how I was supposed to be a girl and since I wasn't, she just gave me the first boy name that popped into her head. (It's an okay name considering the lack of planning.) She'd been planning to have Elizabethamy all along, and 50 years later, I guess she did. But she doesn't know about elizabethamy, nor does my wife, who has been terrific in the few days she's known about my dressing, but who doesn't know that elizabethamy has emerged to the degree that she has....

steffanie
11-16-2011, 02:57 PM
I picked mine because it has same first letter and is close to my given name.

Steffi

jazmin6
11-17-2011, 08:24 AM
Mines Jazmin, cause i love the name when its shortend "Jaz" :)

*Alexia
11-17-2011, 04:39 PM
I chose *Alexia because when I was overseas, I met the most beautiful Romanian girl I have ever seen. She is my perfect vision for how I want to look when I dress. We shared the same birth month and year, and the day was only off by nine days!!

Andrea124
11-17-2011, 11:59 PM
It was easy for me, I only had to change last letter from w to a. :-) ... and I used to work with a girl whose name was Andrea. Like the way it sounds too.

IamToni
11-18-2011, 08:09 AM
It was actually my wife who, to my delight, suggested that I should have a feminine name when dressed. She picked the name for me and I love it.

elizabethamy
11-19-2011, 03:16 PM
Add to my earlier comment: I'm now finding out that my wife doesn't yet like the idea of this separate persona named elizabethamy. She knows what the name means -- it's from my mother's too-often-repeated story about how i was supposed to be a girl with that name. So I think when the time comes, I will let her rename me, once she realizes that the boy name just won't work when I'm in a dress.

kaela
11-20-2011, 05:24 PM
I used to watch Day of our lives and kayla brady was what i wanted to be. so changed the spelling and now im Kaela. Love the name suits me so well

samanthakevin
11-21-2011, 03:46 PM
my mum and sister given my female name of samantha. my said the were go to name samantha if i was a girl and not a boy.

JoleeCube
11-21-2011, 10:29 PM
I've thought forever on my fem name and haven't come up with anything permanant. JoleeCube was thought up on the spot when joining. At times when I've dated girls that I could open up to, I would let them give me names, I've been called molly, carrie, and christina (it's clostest to my real name) I'll eventually find one I am happy with but for now, call me jolee.

xcross23x
11-22-2011, 06:29 PM
Going to try the name shannon out its my first attempt at picking a name so dont know if I will stick with it but I guess time will tell. I picked shannon because its not to far from my own name (shane) and it also has links with where I was born the shannon is the biggest river in ireland

McKailah
11-22-2011, 07:10 PM
My female name is McKailah Autumn. At one point in time I used the name Chelynne Grace, but that name didn't seem to fit my personality as much as I would like it to. My wife and ex sister-in-law helped me come up with McKailah Autumn a few years ago, and I love it. The spelling of McKailah was my wife's handy work, since she loves to spell things unlike the ways she has seen them, and Autumn came from an anime that I watched back in high school.

CassieV
11-26-2011, 03:17 AM
I don't really feel that I have a female persona, but it makes it easier dealing with online stuff. Cassandra was my favorite girl's name, which my wife and I would have used if we had had a daughter, but all I can make are boys, apparently. :p So I figured what the heck! Violet is just because I love the purple end of the spectrum.

Melody1985
11-26-2011, 07:36 AM
My first post! Hi to all those who see this. I am brand new to CDing, but I'll get into that later. The name I love is .. Melody .. because music is a huge part of my life, and since I now have a whole new world open to me, I can have a name that suits my love!

Befanie
11-27-2011, 07:21 PM
I am same as Melody; this being my first post.

I liked a girl in school named Bethany & thought if i ever had a daughter that name would be top of the list.

Because Bethany was always taken whenever I had to have an on-line name. I had to come up with a unique spelling.

Hence "Befanie" was born & I have grown to like her very much! I did not know I would be "my daughter" lol!!:heehee:

It's nice to hear everyone's stories (:

My name is a combination of a couple of things:

-Kali comes from a GG I once worked with. She was incredibly beautiful, and had the vibe that I wish I could capture in myself.

-Brooke is a name that I've always liked. I wanted a name to go with Kali, and I think it has a nice ring to it. Plus, it's an homage to the beautiful Kelly Brook, another inspirational GG for me.

smeat
11-29-2011, 08:18 PM
My name came from my partner. I was blown away by his acceptance, and even more blown away when he came right out with a name for me that we both really like!

Marleena
11-29-2011, 09:28 PM
I took the first 3 letters of my real first name, and created what I thought was a new name, since most names were already taken.:) After googling I found out it is a real woman's name.

ROXXYDENIMDOLL
11-30-2011, 10:26 AM
The name Roxxy was given to me on my first trip to Janets Closet here in Michigan. The girl that was helping me with my purchase had given it to me since I had not come up with a name at that point. The wife approved and there has been no thoughts of changing it. Roxxy rocks and the wife adores her, well not as often as I would like but you know what I mean.

JoyceJ
11-30-2011, 07:55 PM
Hey all! Like Melody and Bethany, my first childhood crush's surname was Joyce. I've loooved the name ever since! I don't know if it's the joy inside of it, but it just makes me feel happy and optimistic :) The J comes from my own name. This way my nickname can be JJ hehe...

<3

taís
12-02-2011, 09:42 PM
I love the name I chose and its story. Ta*s it's a greek name, and it means "the one who should be contemplated, admired". The first time the name was recorded in History was from a courtesan from King Alexander's. <3 I think it sounds very cute and I feel it expresses a lot of my femininity.

kimberly23
12-03-2011, 02:29 AM
Named myself Kimberly, came to my mind, because i met one girl with that name ,wich open my eyes and mind. and also i like this name much.

Ashley_Marie
12-03-2011, 05:34 PM
I have tossed around several names over the years. First there was Samantha, then there was Katherine, then a combination of the two. Then came along Abigail, and Trinity.

A little while back I had thought about Brianna for awhile, my mom would have named me that if I had been born a girl.

Finally I looked at my birth name and thought why not use my initials and pick something that fits to those. Hence how I came up with Gabrielle Willow, my initials are GWT.

Since I originally posted in August of last year. I have dropped Gabrielle and actually nolonger use it, except maybe as part of a hyphenated middle name. Now I prefer to use Ashley.

I named myself Drew, because if I was out chatting with another dresser in drab, they could call me my dressed name without causing raised eyebrows. Also, my love of painting. I came out to my wife last year, and she gave me a different name..She said you look like Ellie to me. You should be Ellie, I will call you Ellie. Well, her accepting my desire and her encouragement, well , how could I say no..I said thanks..... My name is Ellie, nice to meet you. She smiled back and said, It is so nice to meet you Too Ellie, you look very nice, and we will have so much fun together. I'm so glad to meet you................

I recently decided on the name Katie. I just think its a really cute name for my femme side :battingeyelashes:

Jackie is an obvious femme side for John or Jack, and I was running out of Kennedy's. Plus we had a family friend named Jackie when I was a kid who was kind of big and loud, but very sexy and overt ..... fertile fantasy material for a young lad hoping to be captured and "forced" to crossdress and who knows what else!

Nelson
12-08-2011, 07:48 AM
I got my name from a cat.... not any old cat though. Nelson was a boy, black, sleek and beautiful. He'd drop down near your feet and roll his back, his paws over his head, eyes half closed. You'd reach down to stroke that sable belly, your fingers barely caressing the soft fur an he would latch on, four sets of claws and teeth. Now, that you might think was bad enough.... if you tried to pull your hand away the pain would increase tenfold, as soon you stopped he would ease you from agony back to painful, his green eyes watching your face intensely. And he would stay like that for ages. lol. I'm not vicious, but I like to think that I have claws, and I'll be as effective as my namesake in discouraging unwanted contact.

I was the first kid/boy and my younger brother was supposed to be a girl named Cherry (sp?). I picked Tanga for other reasons and will probably go with Tanya if that is offensive. Is it???

I'm taking a big step asking this and I want some HONEST feedback. I hope you understand that asking for permission/acceptance for my girl name is significant for me.

Thanks,

I also am very new here and to the concept that I AM a crossdresser.. many many years now into bits of it here and thare I have started to put it all together and like the result. My wife took a different route.
If I were to chose a name .. Allena would be my first choice, that is from my middle name Allen and my mom's name Lena.

Elana
12-09-2011, 02:40 AM
I picked out Elana since my guy name starts with an E, so wanted a elegant girly feminine version close to my original name, also i read a fictional feminization story where the main character was renamed to Elana after a transformation, one of my most favorite stories i've read even after finding it a few years ago.

natalie james
12-11-2011, 04:40 AM
i chose natalie because itspretty much the only name i know not belonging to a girl i kno. first choice would be " rachel" because i like it alot but i know four rachels, so it would be weird.

z.kasia
12-11-2011, 08:48 PM
I chose Kasia because it is Polish and Polish women are some of the most beautiful, sexy, elegant and stylish women I have seen. I hope to be like that someday.

Danika140
12-11-2011, 11:02 PM
Even as a male I have a female name being Justine (mom must have hated me right lol?) But I chose Danika because I find Danica Patrick to be gorgeous and the fact that she is more or less an athlete being an Indy car driver makes me idolize her. Her strength and courage for being the only woman in a male dominant sport is incredibly impressive to me!

All of you have some great reasons for your names, I just remember trying to think of a name, and I loved Keri, especially spelled that way, I think Marie is a really pretty name, but more of a middle name yeah? And I once knew this really exotic and sexy girl with the last name Kotz and really like it, do yall use last names? Im new to this, dont really know if its proper to do so

I chose tam 'cause my first name is thomas so I just shortened and feminized it !
And it happens to be the name of one of the girls from Cat's Eyes. It's a japanese anime I loved watching with my sister and cousins when I was a kid.

Erica Dresser

I'm Jen, or more properly Jennifer Elizabeth (hence JennyBeth), because my mum was so sure she was expecting a little girl (more to say on that later) and that's what my name should always have been. She told me when she cought me experimenting with her make-up when I was in my early teens. Bless you mummy, I miss you!

JessicaM1985
12-24-2011, 05:52 PM
I originally wasn't serious enough about it to actually want a girl name, but I thought it might be fun to have one and maybe add some sass to it. So I picked Jessica. It sounds kinda mysterious and at the same time, cute. It's also the name of one of my favorite Allman Brothers songs. I'm a rock 'n' roll/heavy metal nut, so I thought it would be a great way to express my personality when I dress too.

rebecca34
12-25-2011, 12:39 PM
Jessica, I know what you mean. I have dressed for ages now but only recently has Rebecca had a name. It's nicer as I think it gives her some identity - I can think of her as someone rather than dressing as just something I do.

I chose Rebecca just because I thought it was sweet and girly.

Kayle Adell
12-27-2011, 02:31 AM
This may sound crazy, but I got it from a dream. About three years before I started crossdressing, I saw myself at a bar with my friends and was introduced as Kayle Adell... so it just kinda happened and it doesn't feel right to go by any other name.

Hi girls

I found myself a last name : pham
It sounds like femme witch means woman in french as you know (I'm half french btw)
It's a popular vietnamese name (my other half is asian)

It makes sense and it's funny for a crossdresser to be named femme :heehee:
So now I feel complete and go by the name of tam pham
wich is a little bit redundant... That's why I might change my first name or simply find other ones :D

Oh I almost forgot
you can add me on fb or g+
It would be nice to have friends there !

kisses

Totally new to this PUBLIC scene and a new member so I don't know if this will even make sense, I picked Bella because of the one who got away (funny enough a straight girl) I just tought she was so beutyfull and I am hoping to some day be half as pretty, Like your name by the way I think I matches your picture.

01-07-2012, 03:13 PM
I fell in love some time back with a gg named Krissie.she was married and well I could not have her .however the chemistry was incredible . her natural body smell and all was so overwhellimingly beutifull.I had been dressing a long time before we met and had no idea of what to do .keep hiding ? or be honest? as it turned out, it cost us both our marriges, both devorced, shortly affter the affair collapsed .we stayed in touch for several years via snail male.,moved accross the country and eventualy lost touch. I think back and believe she felt so badly about commiting adultery,... well I gave myself her name .I guess for twisted reasons.so perffect for me ,so feminine, simply beutifull, and some thing I truley could never have.that was 25 years ago this january.she never new I dressed.

karanne
01-07-2012, 04:41 PM
I was always told that you should pick a fem name that was close to your male name. Therefore Ken beget Kara (although I'm usually called Karen), and Anne because I wanted to honor Gran, who was always supportive of her new Granddaughter. My last name was when I was in a 'marriage of convenience' with a college friend. He needed to stay in the US and I needed serious financial help, so we lived together as husband and wife. It gave us both social cover, I was the dutiful, conservatively-dressed wife in headscarves and long skirts, and we took in a 'boarder' (his gay lover). We all eventually left uni, at which time we divorced, but I never wanted to go through the hassle of changing back to my maiden name.

Kaari-like the name..played with the spelling a lil though

Patsy
01-11-2012, 12:17 AM
My first choice was Patty but that's taken, so Patsy it is. It's short for Patricia, which has a kind of regal sound to it which I like. At my age I can't aspire to be a cute sex kitten, but I can aspire to be a lady.

JamieRog
01-15-2012, 02:40 AM
Simply put, Jamie is close to my real name, James.
Also, in the past various people have called me Jamie, either by mistake, or because they chose it for me as a pet name of sorts.
For these reasons, Jamie just feels very natural and right to me.

KelleyG
01-16-2012, 08:53 PM
I Chose Kelley because my mom told me that she wanted to name me Kelly (1 e) when I was born but my dad did not like that name and they gave me the name Kevin. I have for what ever reason liked the name Kelley and have always used it in Girl mode. I think it is more fem then Kelly :)

I chose the name Jenna mainly because my regular name is Jim, so I know I wanted one that started with a J. Then I guess Jenna had a nice cute sound to it so I decided to stick with that.

Jaimie
01-17-2012, 04:53 PM
This is a fun post. My male name started with a J and I wanted to keep my female name similar to my original name so I picked Jaimie. It is a variation of Jamie which can be a girl’s or guy’s name. It is also a variation of the French word j'aime which means I like or I love. But j'aime is pronounced differently. I still have the same last name.

I just registered for this forum, and I figured a name thread was as good a place as any for a first post. :)

I honestly never felt right with using a female name, I've always considered dressing as just a part of what I do as a male, not a separate female personality. Then again, I never go out en femme, I just dress when I'm alone in my apartment (which is a lot) and have work to be done on the computer. So there's never been a need...

Aloha Jayne
01-18-2012, 08:24 AM
So who is this person inside of me? Well, as it turns out, her name is Jane. And I just learned that. I always thought it would be Joey. Joey is the name I went by for the first half of my life, and Joey works for both genders. But this summer as I was thinking about all of this, I heard a voice in the back of my head say, “my name is Jane”. It didn’t even register when I first heard it. But about 30 minutes later, I thought, what did she say her name was? And she said, hello, my name is Jane, pleased to meet you.

Really, Jane? Not Joey? Just Jane…..plain Jane. Not Jasmine, or Jamiroquai? Just Jane. I don’t even like the name Jane. I don’t know anyone that has been named Jane since I was in first grade. And there was Miss Jane Hathaway, from the Beverly Hillbillies, a cross dresser for sure.
And I knew a Patsy, Melody and a Sue, but no Jane. Except for that stupid book we learned to read with. See Spot run, see Spot play. I think it was called, "Fun With Dick and Jane"…..Jane……OMG!

So I googled the title, and sure enough you can still buy the book on Amazon. It was used from 40’s until early 70’s to teach kids to read. And there she was on the cover. Short curly blond hair tied up in ribbons, a cute little girl dress…….I wanted to look like Jane! I didn’t know it at the time, but looking at it 50 years later, it was the beginnings of realizing I wanted things boys weren’t supposed to want.

So I asked her: If you’re Jane, then I must be….. And she said: Yes, that’s right, you’re a Dick! And I am a dick. So see, she knows me. But she is ok with me changing the spelling of her name to Jayne to make it just a little different.

So let’s review. For 50 years I’ve known about this other person. Except she’s no longer a cute 6 year old, she’s in her middle 50’s, and not as cute as she wants to be. And for 50 years I’ve lied about her, lied to her, tried to tell myself she didn’t matter and forget about her. And I have all of her things hidden in a storage room where she can’t get to them. I haven’t given a damn about our health, and threatened to kill us. And I’ve dated and am married to another women. See where I’m going with this? All the things a woman wants in a relationship.

And, after 50 years, I just learned her name. Really, Jane? You’re sure? And on top of that, the only time I have for her has been when I want to have sex……with myself!

So she’s pissed. And unlike my wife, she’s got reasons to be pissed.

Kimberly, I don't know if I've responded to this OP or not, yet, it is over 77, pages long? But to your point, I am getting a new name from my SO: Lola. Because, "Whatever Lola wants, et cetera, et cetera." If it's good enough for her to accept me as I develop in this "crazy" world of CDing, then Lola it may have to be; simply because she does not know me as “M.”, but only 24/7 as shown in the pic I just posted (please see "Ya'll are Crazy" Thread in URL below)?

Miranda was a nickname my university housemates used to call me (it's a play on my surname) in that way men often use female names as an insult with their friends, so just seemed apt to reclaim it from its intended derogatory usage and utilise it for something positive:)
My only worry is people thinking I took it from Sex & the City!

I did not know that there was a moon with that name. Just googled it and it's named after a character in The Tempest apparantly, which is nicely apt as both me & Shakespeare are from the West Midlands:straightface:

Thanks for the info Sveta, that's really nice to know and be fun to think of next time I'm gazing at the night sky.

Mandy was given to me in my teens when a past SO asked me to go out with her wearing her skirt/sweater/panties/sandals for fun. She was set back a little when I didn't object to it. I told her why and she was accepting to the point where she bought me a few things of my own. We were great for a few years but parted ways for other reasons. I was terrified that she would out me to friends, but never did. The name stuck as a sort of tribute that there are still great people in the world.

Krististeph
01-30-2012, 09:29 AM
Kristin- fourth of a series- Jennifer (first because "jen" it was similar to my name). Lots of first names begin with J and end with an "N" sound- Jan, Jane, Jen, Jean, Jin (Gin-Ginny-Virginia), John, Joan, June...
Elaine (didn't take)
I forget the other one.
But I finally made a list of names that i liked, and slowly pared them down over time- in various situations. At parties when chemically altered, i'd go over the list in my mind and think of which ones seemed to "fit". Same thing when stone sober, at work, while flying at night, hiking in the badlands, up to my elbows in parts for the medical equipment i was working on, right before surgery for the hernia i gave myself while working on heavy medical equipment (OR tables weigh 750-850 lbs). I liked Kristin because it was phonetically similar to "Christ", and while i am not what you would call a devout christian, I do have a deep spirituality and admiration for the values attributed to Christ. Also- It is a great flexible name_ Kristina, Kristin, Kristi, Kris, and a few others.
Finally, i liked the "K", my wife's names starts with a "K" rather than a "C", I dated a girl with my wife's name that began with a "C", way before i met my wife. I remember thinking how I wished "C"'s name started with a "K", it just seems more apropos or correct. I do not believe in ESP or premonition, but it is a lot of fun to remember. (Actually, I hope i am wrong about ESP and premonition, i'm a scientist, so from what I know, all ESP stuff is explainable in simple terms, but I would not be sad if i were proven wrong, that there really is a fifth force or a supernatural realm. Until it is proved, I'm happy with what we know, even if it is a bit anti-climactic)

The middle name, "Stephanie" was one of the finalists in the list, and was actually what my next older sibling would have been called (Steven) if he had not been stillborn. Somehow, I feel as if i inherited a bit of his existence, and it is a nod to him, and Mom's loss, that "Stephanie" is my middle. This was 20 years ago. No change since! My wife helped a little, though she still sees my CD as more of a 'hobby' or 'fetish', but she helps me keep things in perspective... she's really a hell of a lot smarter than she seems. I picked my female last name as a derivative of her maiden name, no question about it there. Plus, I love last names that have been used as first names. the Juxtaposition is awesome.

So my name is a child of logic, emotion, and marriage. Suits me, suits my wife. I've got closure, I've got approval....who could ask for anything more?

:-)
- Kristin Stephanie Marcella

I confess - I don't have a femme name. (Actually, my real name becomes feminine by adding an 'e' on the end and a lot of people I correspond with in business add the 'e' by mistake.) I think the real reason is that I don't feel like 'me dressed up' is a different person. I suppose I'm saying I want to look like a woman but I don't want to pretend to be one. Maybe I'm wrong. I should ask the great giver of reality checks (my wife).

I may never look like a million bucks. But I have spent a lot of coin on my alter ego.
Most of her time out in the world is on long weekends when she can be herself for a few full 24/7 days.Wish she had enough nickels or millions to stay 24/7.Being in need of better lower body enhancers, she is in "CD remission".Honestly, she's such a matchy-matchy bitch sometimes. But we all like what we like, don't we?
She likes what she calls "Professional Panache" or "Casual Cachet" and thus, a jillion nickels (or too many dollars)have gone into her oversized closet.
Now she needs to get out of there herself.
Anyone have experience with good hip and tush padding that looks good and is relatively easy to wear(I love the comfort of girl clothes)?
P.S.I could have saved $$$ had I found all you wonderful ladies sooner. When I learn to,I'll post pix.But need to find a faster compact camera, preferrably a fuchsia or pink one first.

Kylie is just a name that I've always thought was really great. The "Q" really doesn't mean anything, I just thought KylieQ sounded a bit like Curlicue, which was kind of cute. I did choose the middle name Amanda because it's what I would have been named if I had actually been born female.

I've always been a big fan of the moon. I love going for walks late at night, especially when the full moon is out. The gentle blue light from it is... calming. I can almost hear it singing as it washes over me like the purest, softest silk.

So, I took my name from that; the Latin name for the moon, which I think is beautiful, and the Japanese word and kanji for "light", which I also think is the prettiest kanji. Moon Light. It suits me well.

The first time I thought up the name was to join this site, I've known a few really nice people called Melissa so I guess that might have helped me make the decision. It just stood out. The actual act of choosing a name has helped me to accept that this is a permanent part of who I am though, has anyone else experienced that?

I just use my writing name. Suisen Yuki. Suisen are daffodils. Yuki is snow. I'm not Japanese, but I'm fluent in speaking it and can read it at a first or second grade equivalency level. Yuki is a gender neutral name in Japan. I picked this name because I'm Bi-Gendered.

I went the longest time without one, but my wife and a friend asked about it. I wanted to choose a name with the same first letter of my own name, but not one shared by any close friends or relatives. Started out with "Mary", but then decided this weekend to make it "Miriam". I think this sounds prettier.

Hi Kimberly,
'Judith' is what my parents would have named me if I'd been born a GG. However, there's a slight twist - I didn't actually know that (they would have named me Judith...) at the time that I chose Judith for myself! I only discovered over a year later when my (very pregnant) cousin was visiting with my parents and she started discussing girls names with my parents - at which point my dad said... My cousin's baby was indeed a girl and guess what - she's Judith too!
Can't imagine what would happen if the younger Judith ever came face to face with the older one!
Hugs

The name Jordyn shares some letters with my birth name so it isn't too different. I just thought the name could be answered to while dressed or not (if I ever ventured out). I like it so far because it has a feminine flair with the spelling but isn't over the top, just like my level of dressing at this point in my life.

Another thing I learned through 30 years is that lots of wives do their on-line and catalog shopping in their husband's name. After seeing so many of my wife's catalogs with my name on them I saw my opportunity. Turns out she also doesn't know which catalog companies pass your name along to others, and so on ... (but glad I can just be honest about it these days anyway).

I picked my name because, like so many other girls here, Victoria would have been my name if I were born a girl. The last name I picked, Vermilliana, comes from a character I used to play as in games, Aurora Vermilliana. I really couldn't come up with anything else :P But I like my name, so it's staying.

my first feminine name was michelle. I chose it because I thought it very femme, and all the girls I'd known w/ the name had been pretty! many of my friends from way back still know me as that, or "missy". now, I wasn't about to stop there, I felt I need a full name! I chose rene' as my middle name, and at the suggestion of some good friends, (working girls, taught me LOTS!) I changed the middle to monet. the last name, parker? well, there were 4 sisters in high school, all gorgeous and about my complexion, so I gave them a 5th! no, they never knew, are you kidding? in high school I was UNDER the closet LOL! now I'm known as arianna, I needed a more dramatic name when re-inventing myself again as a woman, I look at the earlier days as michelle as my growing up girl period. my middle name now is angelique which I swiped from a witch on "dark shadows", always loved it! and I'm still parker. btw, I know lots of sisters use names that are variations of their male names, interestingly my birth name was a femme one! and when I began searching for a name, I wanted to be someone nothing like my male self.

I chose my female name because I wanted something different and unusual that would get my attention when spoken to while dressed. I wanted a name that was easy to say and pleasant to hear. I wanted a name that described how I want to feel when I am dressed feminine--- pleasant to look at, confident, and elusive. Nita is a native american word for bear.

For me, Marianne is the most feminine name I know. Lisa is also nice, so I switch. Likewise, my dresses are ultra-feminine with tea-length full skirts and lace trim here and there (and no, I will never reveal the name of my seamstress :o). I'll post a few pictures when I gather the courage, but never with my face -- I'm 58 and very broad-shouldered. It's futile for me to try to "pass" or look like a girl.

Hi Natalie,
My wife and I did this a couple of times. Our situation is unusual because I'm 58 and she's 23, and since we live near Seattle we can go to Capitol Hill, where no one minds anyone wearing anything. I wore an ultra-feminine dress in white organza with sequins and pink-and-green embroidery with about five petticoats and silver heels. We walked around the neighborhood and she left me alone in the street a couple of times to order coffee inside :) I didn't try to pass because it's hopeless. Makeup, wig -- nothing makes any difference. I will never look like a girl. But I got some friendly comments on my outfit. Now my wife wants me to be a "man" with her, so this probably won't happen again, except on Hallowe'en -- last year I wore a blue floral silk dress with a dainty bow at the neckline. I memorized a bunch of lines from "A Streetcar Named Desire" and pretended to be Blanche Dubois. I got some major laughs.
Have fun,
Lisa

This is my first ever post here and I am excited to be a part of this community. Where do I go to properly introduce myself? I want to write about my experiences here and hopefully get some feedback from you all. BTW Shyla will teach me the art of eye makeup. Hi!

Mine is easy to explain. My name as a boy is the most widespread for my birth year in France. So, I have chosen the name that is the most widespread in 1987! And it suits me well, because the girls named Émilie have the "reputation" to be tomboys.

Barbara Ella
04-02-2012, 11:52 PM
As you may or may not know (like this is uppermost on your mind.....) I am relatively new, and did not take a feminine name, choosing to go by Baby Steps as I was a super timid individual 7 months ago when I accepted cross dressing. I accept that I have a female presence within my being that must be recognized, and the only way I can truly do this is by dressing and posing. i will never be a woman. you women are truly blessed, and all i will ever be is a poser, but I do so love posing, so forgive me my trespass.

Last week my name came to me Barbara. Several reasons, but I suspect because this was my long forgotten first date way back in 1963 (yes, I have long term memory still). I could not just be Barbara, so I wanted a reference to perhaps the most talked about sexy film from that era, Barbarela. I added the Ella for the second name to give this reference. i selected it because there is also a second, Spanish influence. Ella is the Spanish pronoun for her or she. So i am really Barbara, She, in recognition of the true feminine presence in my soul.

I have since been told by MsArlene that an actress from the 40's, Ella Raines, was a beauty. I googled her, and she is a beautiful woman, with striking hair. Maybe there are some similarities, dont know, but I like her hair, so I can see forking over some money for vintage 1940s wigs to emulate her. Thanks Arlene.

I am now Barbara, or Barbs, whichever you prefer. It has been an incredible journey in the 7 months that I have truly been alive.

Love to you all, and above all, have fun. Barbara

I took the name Paulette, because French women are sexy and erotic, as well, plus my grandmother's name was Pauline. It is not so much the name that describes you but how you look, dress, walk, talk, present yourself and handle yourself when with others. I never growning up thought about dressing up as a girl or a woman, but I did often try on my mother's girdle from timeto time and her stocking. It excited me. If I would have realized what I was missing I would have changed to a total woman. Keep in touch...

I like to honor ideas with my girl name. Previosly I had the name Iztlacihuatl which in Nahualt the native language of the valley of Mexico means white woman. This fitted me because my complexion is light, and it also honored the indian origins of Mexicans.

Now I am Lilith, which represents woman power and rebellion. Lilith according to christian lore was the first wife of adam, who refused to summit to him as god had ordered her, so she was cast out and she went with Satan.

I’m pretty sure my mom wanted a girl. She dressed me as one at least once and painted my nails many times as a child. She didn’t come right out and say it, but she indicated on several occasions growing up, it was ok to be something, or feel something different on the inside than what people think you are. I have an older cousin named Theresa, I’m sure she would have named me that, but instead named me Terry. I asked my father once why I was named that instead of Terrence. All he said was because it was ‘unconventional’. They’re both gone now, so I can’t ask anything else, but it all vaguely makes sense now… I think my cousin is Theresa Irene, but I like Theresa Lynn much better. So, here I am. You can call me Teri. People have been spelling my name with an ‘i’ all my life, sometimes with 2 rs and sometimes not. It suits me just fine.

XOXO

I guess for some a name is a simple thing, but for me it is so much more.

Katherine was my Great-Aunt. My mother was her favorite niece. Apparently I was her favorite Great-Nephew. The feelings she had for my mother filtered down to me. I am not sure why, but sometimes I think my mother talked to her about catching me in her closet and cloths.
Whenever Aunt Katherine would visit she would always spend time with me. Of course she would see the other children in my family but never really spent time with them. Sometimes when her and mother was in the kitchen talking she would have me come in to sit with them and have cake or pastries. Thinking back now it seems strange but if I was a young girl it would have been perfectly normal. I believe that Aunt Katherine knew more about me than I did.
Katherine was years ahead of her time. In the days when women took care of the house and let the man be the foremost figure in the household; Katherine was in a completely different category. She was strong willed, and wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. She irritated my father. Mother knew when to hold her peace around dad, but not Katherine. Katherine was married but her husband died when I was very young and I don’t remember him. Mother always referred to him as a good man. Katherine never had any children so my brothers and I were more of her adopted family. Of all the Aunts/Uncles and Great Aunts/Uncles in my life, Katherine was the one I truly loved. She always treated me in a way that just made me feel good. Whether that was because she treated me more like a little girl than a little boy, I don’t really know. I do remember her telling me a number of times; “What a pretty little girl you would have made”. NO, she didn’t pinch my cheek. .
I spend years dressing in private and referring to myself by a number of different names. When I finally decided to take my Cross-Dressing public, and venture out of the house dressed, I chose a final name that fit the internal women I wanted to represent.

Katherine Ann Barns.

Ann was my mother's middle name.
My name is a combination of the two women I respect the most.

My female name is simple. I was supposed to be a girl (the last of 3 boys), my mother was going to name me Kimberly Jean but I popped out with the wrong equipment. I also lean toward the theory that the girl baby talk in the womb influenced my inclinations.

I came out with my feminine name for 14 years now...this month, to be exact. I basically used the name of a high school friend that I respected, then I changed then name just slightly after 10 years. It went from starting with a "J" to a "K". Guess it just sounds better. After the 10th anniversary of the name I added my actual surname with the hyphenated one I had previously used. It sounded more adult and respectable.
